And the Dedication goes to...@Always_Loves_Books ! The answer was A. Here's another chapter for you guys!
Connor POV.
After having his insides churn again, Almost being incinerated by a couple exploding arrows, being thrown into a shadow travel, and then landing on turret of a medieval castle, Connor decided he hated his life.
He felt the rollercoaster of shadow travelling fade and Connor was flung into empty air. The wind whipped his face his cheeks burned red. He yelled out in surprise, but his voice was sucked out in the air.
Disoriented , the son of Hermes felt rather than heard Reyna scream. Connor hit the sloping shingles of a tower skidding. The hard rock scraped his jeans and his arms leaving raw burns. His feet slid over the side, Connor twisted grabbing the edge of the roofing. His arms screamed in agony, His fingers threatened to slip.
Reyna landed near him caught in the pocket of a triangular roofs window sill. She winced heavily holding on with her good arm, meeting the weight of her bad thigh. Connor thought he saw a tear run down her cheek, but then the wind shoved a handful of hair into her face blocking the view.
What really worried Connor though, wasn't Reyna. It was Nico Di Angelo. He dropped like a stone, completely missing the small short tower. His body twisted and jerked as the wind currents played a game of tug of war.
"Nico!" Reyna screamed.
Connor stared down at the ground, feeling weightlessness claim him. A good two hundred off feet of the ground and Connor let go. The oxygen was sucked out of his lungs. He flipped upside down, flying headfirst. Connor tugged his arms together increasing his speed. Nico was pale, paler than usual. His cheeks were stained red by whiplash his eyes closed, the red wound on his forehead was leaking again red drops flicking into the air.
The scariest thing was the shadows. A cloak of darkness wrapping around the son of Hades. Like he was fading into the depths of darkness. Our more accurately the doors of darkness was consuming him entirely.
Connor was with in grabbing distance, he swiped at Nico, narrowly missing. Connor gasped for air, his lungs felt compressed like he was swimming in water. He swiped again, ripping the hood of Nico's aviator jacket. The shadow cloak twisted up Connor's wrist, as like licking him.
Do you taste good, Connor Stoll? The darkness said.
"Let go." Connor demanded through gritted teeth. "Go away."
We will be back...
Nico slammed into Connor the winds battering them about. The shadows receded, leaving Nico and Connor alone. Even so Conjure still felt cold. The ground crept up like a brick wall. an impending doom, for the two demigods. Tears burned through his eye lids.
With all of his power he choked out the last word.
"Maia!"
The red converses on Connor's feet fluttered to life. White feathers unfolded like origami. Small wings caught a current, reigning it in, slowing the fall.
Not enough to save them.
"I...really...Should have...thought....this out!" He yelled to no one in particular. Nico felt like ice against Connor, His death aura seeping through Connor's thin T-shirt. He got a flash of Katie hanging on the black sword dangling off the Hulk, her entire arm turning to black ice.
Directly below them was a huge glass house. A green house. The type Katie talked endlessly about when she and Travis hung out. The sun reflected off the metal frame. Connor twisted so the unconscious Nico was above him, ready to be cushioned by Connor.
His shoes tried vainly to catch them. But at their velocity, Connor knew that there was no way that it would happen. The green house edged closer, and closer until his own reflection speeding towards him.
Then he collided.
The heavy duty glass felt like a brick wall. A shattering feeling running up his spine. The rust hinges on the top of the glass window cracked, Connor bounced heavily off it letting Nico go. The website snapped open dropping Connor down another ten feet. He hit a wet soiled ground, The terrible crashing of Nico came of to his right.
Connor pulled his head from the moist dirt. He had no idea how he was alive. There just wasn't an explanation. Nico was hanging hallway out of a basket, The plants around him shriveled and died.
"Gods..." Connor muttered. He let his head fall back into the dirt.
He thought about good things. Fun things. The time he and Travis gave the mango to the Aphrodite cabin. The time they decorated the Demeter cabin with chocolaty bunnies. They time they got cursed by the Apollo cabin and Travis tried rhyming orange with a real word. Or that time they put a spider in the Athena cabin. He just kept thinking of anything that would keep his mind off the fact he nearly died four seconds ago, and that there was a crazy Primordial out there, somewhere, content on obliterating the world.
***
"Is he alive?" Sometime later Connor started hearing voices. His brain felt like mush.
"Isn't that Nico?"
"Who is that other guy?"
"We should leave."
"They need help."
"Blimey, Hermione!" The first voice said, "There's a Basilisk roaming the castle, You-know-who is back, Harry's been petrified, Neville's become a crazy loon holding my sister and Luna hostage, and we are hiding out in the poisonous plant green house! I think we might need a little more help."
Connor groaned. "Nico, I hate you." He muttered, freezing the two wizards. "You took us to England? With the wizards? What the Hades, man!"
Connor was well aware of the fact Nico didn't hear him. It felt much better just to say it.
Pushed himself up, giving the wizards a lazy glance. His shoes fluttered frustratedly, trying to clean the dirt from their wings. He brushed the wet dirt off his face.
"Can you please stop pointing those sticks at me?" He asked. "It's reminding me of the time Clarisse let the Ares cabin spear Travis and me, for decorating the cabin with smiley faces."
"What?"
"Nothing." Connor looked at both of the wizards. The girl on the right looked obviously smart, with a tired, annoyed attitude, as if she was saying 'My life sucks'. Connor almost rolled his eyes, welcome to his life. The guy next to her was a red head freckled, kid with a terrified expression plastered on his face.
"Who are you?" The girl asked, "What happened to Nico?"
"Who are you?" Connor asked right back, "Wait did you say, poisonous pants?!"
Connor leapt to his feet, nervously eyeing the plants.
"Yeah, Don't worry about them though mate, they rarely ever attack anyone." The guy said.
Connor was tempted to laugh. "Uh, yeah, you don't know me." He inched away from a pretty magenta and yellow flower. "We never should have poured that glitter into the strawberry fields. How were we suppose to know Demeter was in the fields at that exact time? And it was all Travis's idea!"
"What are you taking about? who's Travis?"
"My brother. And a prank we pulled, that ended with us getting cursed by a goddess." Connor looked at him arm, trying to imagine how bad he looked. "I'm assuming they told you who we are?"
"Who you are?" The girl asked, "You mean like halfbloods?"
"Yes, wonderful," Connor said, "Do you have any ambrosia?"
"Any what?"
"Ambrosia, that godly food, You know? The stuff we eat and it heals us instantly?"
"What do gods have to do with this? I've never heard of a good like that, is it a potion or something?"
"No..." Connor looked at them quizzically. The wizards stared blankly back. "Okay I feel that somewhere along the line we totally aren't on the page. Let's start over." Connor held out his hands to the Red head flashing then a wary smile.
"Hello, my name is Connor Stoll, and yes I did just fall through the roof. My friend over there is Nico Di Angelo, and the girl all the way on the tower is Reyna. We're all halfbloods. Half human, half god."
"All the way..." The boy asked, paling until he was the same color as Nico. "On the Gryffindor tower?"
"What's a Gryffindor?"
"Oh Dear," The girl said, "She must have gotten inside. She better stay hidden." By the tone of her voice, Connor concluded something bad was happening in the castle.
The girl looked at him with watery eyes. "I'm Hermione Granger, and this is my boyfriend, Ronald Weasely. We're wizards. I'm suppose to be the brightest witch of the age but..."
Ron put an arm around her, casting a glance at Nico. "Ever since Nico, Leo, and Annabeth came things went from okay to worse than when You-know-who was in power."
"I don't."
"What?"
"I don't know who."
"Oh, it's um, well." Hermione wiped a tear from her eye. "Our friend Harry Potter, was almost killed by a horrible dark wizard when he was one. He's the only one who ever survived the killing curse. Ever since then the dark Lord has been trying to kill him. Finally last fall, We defeated him. But with the help of a potion, I don't know what, Neville, a class mate of ours, previously a friend, brought the dark Lord back from the grave."
"Does this dark wizard have a name?"
"Uh, yes, but no one speaks it." Ron said looking around as if this dark wizard was going to pop out of the shadows holding a shotgun. "We just call him You-know-who."
"Fun." Connor said sarcastically.
"Wait did you say your the son of a god?"
"Yes Hermes. The formal term is normally demigod, but whatever."
"Oh." Hermione looked like she was calculating something dangerous.
"Do you know where I can get some ambrosia?" Connor asked. "Nico is going to need some, and I'm wasting time, plus I think I totally ripped my jeans."
"Uh...There might be some in the infirmary. Madam Promfrey keeps really weird stuff in there."
"Wonderful, how do I get there?"
"Well..." Hermione and Ron shared a look.
"Look, mate." Ron said. "Not only is You-know-who running about, but Neville's got my sister and another one of our friends held hostage. I don't suppose you would know where Annabeth and Leo are do you?"
Connor winced. "I do." he croaked quietly, "but they aren't going to be able to help."
"Oh, and there's one more thing, a Basilisk."
"A snake?"
"You've heard of it? It's like huge. Lou Ellen let it out of the Chamber of Secrets, and it's loose in the castle."
Other than the fact that Connor didn't understand half of that sentence he nodded, his mind reeling. "How do I kill it?"
"Only Harry knows. He killed it when we were twelve."
"Where's Harry?"
"He's um...currently unavailable."
"Great." Connor rolled his shoulders, pulling his dagger from his pocket. "Just one more thing,"
"Yes?"
"Are there any flying monkeys here?"
"Uh no."
"Perfect, if I'm not back in ten minutes then I died," Connor grinned at them one last time, a crowd dazzling smile. Then the son of Hermes ran out of the green house.
