Chapter Eighteen
*Elizabeth's POV*
My eyes slowly fluttered open. I could see a white ceiling above me, and faces. Wait, faces?
"She's awake." I heard one of the faces say. I blinked a few times. What was going on?
"Move out of the way, give her some space." Another voice said. The faces moved away, and a different face hovered above me. Everything was still kind of blurry...
"Elizabeth? How are you feeling?" My sight got clearer, and I could see a face I recognized.
"Armelle?" I muttered, trying to sit up. She gently pushed me back down.
"Don't get up. You're still recovering."
"Re-" I stopped talking, feeling a jolt of pain through my left arm. "Ow!" I went to hold my arm, but Armelle stopped me.
"Don't touch." She said.
"It burns!" I whimpered, tears coming to my eyes. Why was my arm burning? I really needed some ibuprofen!
Wait.... Ibuprofen? I knew what that was! I knew who I was! Memories came flooding back so quickly, my head started feeling dizzy. I was Elizabeth! I had come to the Avatar world instead of dying, then I found out I could bend, then I went back to my world... Wow! I could remember everything! I remembered being in the Fire Nation and being called "Princess" and then having my head filled with silly Fire Nation stuff, then being brought to a cliff where we all came to this house! Then there was Zuko carrying me... and then I woke up with him shirtless in my bed! I was glad that I remembered that! Heh. But then there was the pain, the horrible images... I wasn't so glad I remembered that.
Zuko stepped closer. "How are you feeling, Elizabeth?"
I responded with a grin. It felt so good to remember everything! "My name is so long," I said. "All of you people keep saying 'Elizabeth' that and 'Elizabeth' this. It's a mouthful! When will any of you start calling me Liz, for goodness sakes?"
"Aaaand she's back in business!" Sokka announced, striking a pose. "Go Team Avatar! Plus Elizabeth," he added.
"Liz. She said to call her Liz." Toph said.
Aang came closer. "Okay, Liz! Nice to see you back, Liz!" he laughed.
Katara shook her head. "I think Elizabeth sounds better. Liz just doesn't fit you!"
My smile widened. I had missed being with the gaang!
"So what are we going to do about Alpha and Beta?" Toph asked.
"What about them?" I looked at the group.
"Oh, yeah, you weren't there when we woke Armelle up." Sokka remembered. The group then took turns filling me in on what had happened and what was going to happen.
"So Armelle can't bend?" I was sure that my face was quite pale by now. This was bad, very bad. How were we supposed to beat these guys?
"We have a month to figure out what we're supposed to do," Katara said. "I hope we can figure it out by then..."
"Yeah. We can meet up each day for a period of time to discuss what we can do. We can be done with the meeting today, since it's been a long one." Armelle nodded, dismissing us.
Slowly sitting up, I wasn't reprimanded by Armelle, so I assumed I could get up. As I got up, some more pain shot through my left arm. I looked at it, and saw a bandage wrapped around it. I wonder how that happened...
I walked out of the room after everyone else, but Armelle stayed behind. She was looking intently at a book, and I decided not to bother her.
Wait... I thought as I entered a hallway. I don't know where to go! I don't remember much of walking around this place!
"Need some help finding your way around?" a familiar male voice spoke out from behind me, and I turned to see Zuko leaning against the wall.
"Yeah, that would be nice." I scratched my head sheepishly.
We walked in silence for a little while, Zuko walking ahead of me. What was I supposed to say? I felt somewhat awkward after remembering calling him an attractive guy aloud and seeing him shirtless. I mean, I had seen him shirtless before, and he was quite attractive, but still.
"Thanks for carrying me and taking care of me." I said, quickening my pace so I was standing beside him. He nodded, glancing my way.
"No problem." As we walked side by side, our hands brushed. My face flushed, and I hoped he didn't notice.
"So where were you guys? The gaang, I mean. What had you gotten up to before coming to my world?" I asked, trying to be discreet. How was I supposed to ask? I couldn't just ask what episode they were on!
"Well, uh... it's a long story." He replied.
"Believe me, I know. I know all of it. So just tell me the most recent thing you guys had gotten up to. The Boiling Rock?"
He stopped in his tracks, and I turned to look at him. "Yes," he said. "Yes, we had just gotten back from the Boiling Rock. Only Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka, and I were transported, though. None of the others. We left them alone. Unintentionally, of course." He sighed, then continued walking. "How do you know about us? And now that I think of it, you already knew Uncle and I's names and about the Avatar when I rescued you."
"How do I explain this..." Should I tell him? He would probably bug me until I did and he would get angry if I kept it a secret... "Back in my world, you guys were a TV show. A cartoon." Zuko looked at me with a clueless expression. "You were a story. Nothing more. A form of entertainment for kids. You weren't supposed to be real."
"Really? How could our story... What was it called?"
"Avatar: The Last Airbender."
"Hah." He snickered. "Obviously."
By now we were walking again, going through a room and down a different hallway.
"Here you are. Your room." he went to open the door, but it opened itself before he could grab the doorknob. He chuckled, stepping back.
"Thank you again, Zuko." I said, placing a hand on his cheek, on the side without the scar. I gazed at him for a moment before rushing into the room and shutting the door. My heart was pounding quickly, and I took deep breaths. What had come over me?
*Zuko's POV*
I walked away from Elizabeth's room with a small smile on my face. My cheek still tingled where she placed her hand, and I felt strangely... happy. Different than what I felt when I was with Mai. No, this was a kind of deeper feeling. I never felt like this when Mai touched me.
What was going on with me? Was this... Love?
I shook my head at myself. No, it couldn't be. I sighed and tried to push the thoughts away. Elizabeth was kept in the back of my mind, even if I tried to distract myself.
Something is definitely going on here, I thought, walking to return to my room. I should just try to keep myself busy with something for now...
*Alpha's POV*
"Arghh!" I shouted, throwing a chair aside. That darn Gamma! She had pulled out Grandpa's secret book and broken the link! This was bad!
"You called?" the timid voice spoke from the doorway.
"Yes!" I shouted, and Beta shrunk back. "Get in here!' he obeyed, scurrying in the room. "Gamma has broken the link! I can't keep the house still now! It'll take even longer to find it!"
"But I thought it was in the Headquarters in the Crab Nebula?"
"Yes, it was, but you know that creature! Once people are in there and not connected to me to be controlled, it will roam free! It could go very far away, and we wouldn't be able to get there fast enough!" I kicked a table, causing it to knock over. "Why is our sister so darn smart?!" I shouted. "Eventually she might figure out how to control the Grand Lion Turtle, and we will never be able to get her!"
Yes, the house which my sister and the stupid group is atop of Lion Turtle. It's on top of a Lion Turtle unlike any other- it's in space, and is much bigger than most Lion Turtles. There's a whole island, a whole ecosystem on its back! In fact, the creature could probably be called a small planet! If someone went on the Lion Turtle, I had to have a mental link with the person to help it stay still, to control it. I lost the mental link with my sister when she used her bending. I lose the connection with both my brother and sister while they are using their bending, since it is so powerful.
"I guess we are going to have to figure something out... What will be do, brother?" Beta asked.
"I don't know yet. I need to think on it more. You think about it too, and maybe we will have a few ideas soon. Dismissed." I curtly nodded at my brother, who nodded back and left.
I think I sat for hours, meditating, the breeze making the curtains sway. Light was shining through from the setting sun, and I observed the beauty. The world was so beautiful. Not just this world, all of them had their beauty.
"Wait!" I spoke aloud, jumping up. The world! The Spirit World! The Avatar wasn't the only one who had a connection to it! My whole family, for generations, could enter the Spirit World! I could find Gamma in there and talk to her, or talk to some of the spirits and ask for advice! It was one place where the stupid mortals all around me couldn't mess everything up. I had never entered the Spirit World before, but I was going to try. I had to. The world- well, worlds- had to be mine. All mine.

Whew! There you go! How are ya'll liking it so far? Pretty good, huh?
:D
I had a dream a few nights ago that there was a tsunami. Well, I've had that dream several times, but there was Zuko in it! Before the tsunami, we were bonding and even flirting! Omigosh! *drools*
And then we got separated after the tsunami, and then we saw each other after it. That moment is stuck in my head and I have to write it in one of these chapters! It's not in this one. I'll tell you guys when I do put it in.
It has just been repeating in my head... Squee! And when I was watching some Avatar the other day, there was shirtless Zuko(in the beginning of The Ember Island Players) and he has some niceee abs. Dang. I just sat there, staring at that wonderful shirtlessness.
Hehe. Raise your hand if you ship Zuko and Elizabeth! *raises hand* What would that be? Elizuko? Zukabeth? Hahah! Zukabeth is funny! Just imagine little Zuko dressed is a frilly pink dress, with a scowl on his face. Someone comes up to him and says, "Aww! Zukabeth, you are so adorable!"
Okay, I'll stop rambling now. I kinda got carried away there :P
