Sneaking Out Into The Jungle

3RD PERSON POV:

On the ship coursing through the atmosphere at that very moment, Spider's father, who was none other than Colonel Miles Quaritch, in his new Avatar body was making his way towards Pandora. He and his surrounding battalion were wearing exo-mask packs, breathing in Pandoran air. Bridgehead City, the new and highly fortified city built by the Sky People was their destination. A giant surrounding layer of desert land where they had completely destroyed some of the Pandora forests. Big walls of concrete with heavy machinery guarding every few feet and pillars outside the city walls with weaponry as well.

"Masks off." Wainfleet relayed to the men as each of them walked off the ship.

Quaritch took of his exo-mask and took a large breathe in of the air. They were approached and led by a human towards the General of Bridgehead City.

"Sir, this is the General." The man relayed pointing up to a woman wearing camouflage army attire.

She was currently practicing her boxing skills inside a new Amp suit. One that was taller, less bulky than the originals. It moved twice as fast for easy control while she beat on a practice bag.

"General Ardmore." Quaritch approached her, while saluting.

"Good to meet you, Colonel." She smiled as she turned. She held out the robotic hand of the Ampsuit and Quaritch shook it. "I've heard good things, but a lot's changed since your last tour here. Walk with me."

They walked outside the building and into the pathways of the city. Large constructions were being built as they spoke by mechanical spider like creatures. Welding metal beams of the new buildings. Hundreds of humans moved about building as well. In the course of the year they had been there , the size of the city and the constructions would seem impressive to most. But to those who love Pandora, it was horrifying. It was advancing faster than anyone could imagine, faster than anyone could possibly try to stop.

"The new ops center is over here." The General explained pointing to each newly constructed building. "That just came online. These swarm assemblers, they can put up a building in six days. We have done more here in a year than in the previous 30 years. We're not here to run a mine, Colonel. As On-World Commander, I have been charged with a greater mission."

She led them into another large building that was being 3D printed as they spoke by large machinery. Making the building process so much faster, easier.

"Earth is dying." She stated after taking a sip of her coffee. "Our task here is to tame this frontier. Nothing less than to make Pandora the new home for humanity. But before we can do that, we need to pacify the hostiles." She explained.

They made their way into a different room showing video screens of all the Sully's attacks.

"The Sully's raids are becoming bolder and more frequent. His strikes are well-planned. They've got tight coordination between his ground and air assets. His forces are hitting our outlying sites. The mines, pipelines, cutting off our supply chain."

"And they hit a maglev, two days ago." One of the engineers explained showing the wreckage from the train attack.

"Any intel on the Sully's base of operations?" Quaritch asked.

"Yeah." The General nodded. "Give me the mountains." She relayed. The hologram around them changed to the floating Hallelujah Mountains. "It's a cave system in the Hallelujah Mountains somewhere. But every time we send our forces up there, we take losses. Our hardware really stirs up the hornet's nest. We only get 10 minutes in enemy airspace, they are all over us."

They watched a video from their last attempt to be in the Hallelujah Mountains. Ikran's attacked their ships in groups, making the ships malfunction, some of them falling right out of the sky.

"Colonel, we believe your blue team will be perceived as indigenous and will not trigger the immune response."

"And how might we test that hypothesis, General?" Quaritch remarked.

"The hard way." The General replied simply with a small shrug.

"Outstanding." Quaritch smirked.

Within the next few days they had pilots at the ready for Quaritch and his men. They climbed aboard and headed out into the deep thick Pandoran jungle and towards the Hallelujah Mountains.

"We are entering hostile airspace." The pilot relayed to the Avatar's sitting in the back of the helicopter.

"Copy that." Quaritch replied.

He turned and smirked at one of his fellow Avatars and the two laughed together.

YOUR POV:

It had been a few days of rest for our people since we attacked the train. They got to rest up, heal from their wounds. Neteyam was much better already. And that filled my heart with joy. Jake wanted to go scouting, so we decided to go together and to allow Neteyam to come with us since he was better. Our other children and Spider stayed behind in camp. Lo'ak had asked to go but he was still grounded. And the others were just itching to get outside and out of our confinement of a home.

"Just stay within the safety of the Mountain." Jake had told them before we left.

I had kissed and hugged Tuk goodbye, and left her in the capable hands of her sister and brother. I mounted Kai'ora and off we flew into the air. Jake on Rangi and Neteyam on his Ikran.

3RD PERSON POV:

The Sully children and Spider, left the confinement of their cave, against their parents wishes, after their parents and brother had gone off on a scouting mission. Lo'ak and Spider wanted to go down to the old battlefields. The place where many of his parents stories took place. He had never been even when they lived on the grounds of Pandora. It didn't take much convincing for Kiri to go with them, but once little Tuk found out their plans and they were going to leave her behind. She was not happy about that.

So, after little arguing and more threats of telling, Spider, Lo'ak, Kiri and little Tuk went bounding down the large vines that connected many of the Hallelujah Mountains together. The children were having a blast above the world below them, ululating and laughing as they jumped and hopped across the many vines.

"Go! Whoo!" Kiri shouted happily.

"Whoo!" Spider cheered as he leapt from one of the larger vines over a big gap to another one.

"Whoa, bro!" Lo'ak gasped at his human friend.

"Uh-huh!" Spider laughed as he kept running.

"Go, Monkey boy!" Kiri cheered.

"Guys, wait up!" Tuk whined as her siblings and Spider all ran much faster than her across the vines.

"Come on, slow poke!" Lo'ak laughed and Kiri smacked his arm before stopping.

"Come, Tuk!" Kiri called for her young sister.

Once she caught up to them they began to move again. They made it to the large hanging vines on the mountain's and used them to slid down towards the ground. They ran across an old path towards the old villages and their old stomping grounds. As they ran across the paths, Tuk noticed a plant on the ground with strange blue vines that moved inside the flower. She stopped and stuck her hand out and giggled as the vines touched her skin.

"Tuk, keep up!" Lo'ak called out to her.

Tuk got up from the plant and skipped her way happily over towards her brother.

"Okay, okay." She rolled her eyes.

"Bro, why'd you bring her anyway?" Spider asked as the two led the way.

"She's such a cry baby. She's all 'I'm telling'." Lo'ak mocked using a fake voice to imitate his little sister. "You're not supposed to go to the battlefield. I'll tell Mom if you don't let me come."

Tuk stuck out her tongue at her brother.

"Don't pick on her." Kiri defended her little sister.

They continued farther into the forests.

"Come on." Lo'ak called out to them as he leapt up large roots of trees.

Just above them overhead was an old Kestral gunship stuck within vines that had become overgrown with green. There were holes in the windshield glass. Each of the children looked on at it in awe and amazement.

"Oh, sick!" Spider said joyfully.

"Are there any dead bodies up there?" Tuk asked as she followed behind them.

"Bro, check it out! Come on!" Lo'ak called out to Spider as he tried to carefully look inside the old ship without disturbing the vines.

Kiri, however, was distracted by the beauty of the forest surrounding her. Large leaves of purple sprouted up from the ground. As she traveled farther she marveled at the Kenten, or Fan Lizard that croak as it spun in circles just above her head. There was many of them resting on a large leaf and she gently put her hands underneath the leaf, causing them all to go spiraling into the air.

She always felt different. Something her mother had told her about at least once. But she felt an intense spiritual connection to the world around her. Being in the forest gave her happiness, she felt like she was home. Less of an outsider when she was surrounded by the plants and animals. That's not to say her family ever made her feel like an outsider, because they didn't. If anything they understood more than anyone. But she had never had a talk with them about the way she felt. Maybe someday she would, but for now she was enjoying being out and not cooped up in the cave.

Kiri sprawled right out on the ground, feeling the grass underneath her body. Small seedling from the great spirit tree came floating down towards her. She knew what they were. Every Na'vi did. But it had been long since she had last seen them. Even her Mother had said she hadn't felt much of the All-mother's presence around since the Sky People had returned. But her was a small sign. One, two, three. More and more showed up around her. As one touched her skin, she felt a small tingle and her eye lids fluttered. More landed on her and the more her eyes began to close until she was fully asleep.

~~~~~~~~~~
Quaritch and his troop were walking through the pandora forests. They came across a family of Viperwolves. They chittered and echoed their voices at them, but seemingly left the Avatar's alone.
"No shit." Fyke smirked at the others as their plan seemed to be working.
~~~~~~~~~~

Lo'ak, Spider, and Tuk noticed that Kiri had gone astray from them. Each of them moved around in order to try and find her. Lo'ak keeping Tuk close to his side and Sider traveling around on his own. He was quite worried about his friend disappearing on him. He checked around every tree, every giant plant and bush. Until he came to a small clearing behind some bushes, where a blue body laid. Kiri was covered with the Spirit Seedlings and the wind seemed to be pushing the grass along in one direction towards her.

"Kiri? Kiri!" Spider gasped seeing her. "Kiri..." He said softly and he shook her shoulder. "Kiri, Kiri, hey. Hey." He continued to shake her until her eyes opened. "Kiri. Are you okay?"

Kiri groaned softly and her eyes fluttered back open. She sat up and looked at Spider concerned.

"I was doing that thing again, wasn't I?" Kiri asked of him.

"Yeah, you were." Spider nodded and gently pushed one of the seedling out of the way.

"Kiri!" Tuk called out worriedly.

"Kiri!" Lo'ak shouted after her.

"Kiri!" Tuk gasped as she saw her and Spider. She ran towards her sister. "Kiri, we have to get back."

"Alright, come on." Spider said as he helped Kiri up off the ground.

Lo'ak led the way with his bow in hand. Lo'ak held a hand up to his siblings and hoped down off the path towards a large footprint in the mud.

"What is it?" Kiri asked curiously.

"We are supposed to be back home by eclipse." Tuk groaned as she ushered her siblings, not wanting to get in trouble for being out longer than they should have. And being were they shouldn't.

"It's way to big for a human." Lo'ak frowned.

"Avatar's?" Spider asked curiously.

"Maybe, but they're for sure not ours." Lo'ak explained.

Kiri tucked Tuk close to her and the two bent low to the ground, behind their brother and Spider. Lo'ak got up and began to follow the strange tracks.

"What are you doing?" Kiri hissed.

"Shh." Lo'ak said. "I'm tracking."

The 4 children followed the tracks towards the old campsite, where the biggest battle had took place. Between the Sully's and Quaritch.

"We are never supposed to come here." Kiri warned her brother quietly.

They all crouched in the bushes watching from afar at the overgrown campsite. Quaritch and his men were just in front of them in their Avatar forms, but the Sully children, nor Spider knew that.

"Dad is going to ground you..." Kiri warned.

"Shh, can you stop?" Lo'ak groaned quietly interrupting her.

"For life." Kiri finished.

"Bro, we have got to check this out." Lo'ak said as he looked at Spider.

"Let's go." Spider gestured his head towards the old campsite.

They moved a little closer to the opening inbetween the trees.

"Bro, that's where your Dad and my Dad... Fought." Spider pointed out quietly.

"That's your Dad's actual suit." Lo'ak whispered in return, more enthusiastically.

"Holy shit." Spider chuckled slightly.

"Lyle, see if you can pull some data off that dash cam." Quaritch instructed.

"That things, deader than shit, Colonel." Wainfleet scoffed but moved towards the old Ampsuit anyways.

"So were we."

"All right." He shrugged.

"I gotta call this in." Lo'ak gulped hearing their words and seeing their figures.

As much as he hated to get in trouble, he knew this was the right thing to do.

"No, bro, we're gonna get in trouble." Spider insisted.

"Let's go."

Lo'ak and Spider moved further back towards Kiri and Tuk who had stayed hidden from sight...
