A Living Demon

YOUR POV:

I flew on Kai'ora over the skies between the Hallelujah Mountain's. I had felt a strange connection form between myself and the forest. It was unlike anything I had ever felt before. It wasn't worrisome, but it was strange. It was almost like I could feel my Mother trying to connect with me, but was much to weak for some reason. I took in a deep breath of air, closing my eyes and taking in our surroundings. Kai'ora squawked and I opened my eyes slowly.

Neteyam flashed his wings at us with a small laugh and I narrowed my eyebrows. A small smirk came to the corner of my mouth and I cawed at Kai'ora. She lowered down and nearly came to a stop underneath my son. I looked up at my husband who had a giant smile on his face. Neteyam looked all around himself for me. Kai'ora and I flew backwards taking cover in the clouds. I cawed at her again, telling her to fly around. She flew up into the sky and quickly dove back downward. While we were upside down and my fingers trailed over Neteyam's hair.

He jumped slightly and both boys began laughing.

"Mom!" Neteyam laughed. "We're supposed to be spotting."

"Oh, don't be so stiff like your Father." I chuckled as I evened out between them.

"Hey." Jake frowned, making us both laugh.

"It's okay to be free and have some fun. As long as you do it carefully." I explained and Neteyam smiled at me with a small nod.

"Devil Dog, Devil Dog, this is Eagle Eye, over." Lo'ak's voice carried through Jake's Com link around his neck.

Jake and I both looked at each other concerned. He reached up towards his neck to respond.

"Eagle Eye. Send your traffic." Jake responded.

"I've got eyes on some guys." Lo'ak mentioned.

My heart began to thump a little harder inside my chest. The humans had gotten close to our cave? How?

"They look like Avatar's, but they're in full cameo and carrying AR's." Lo'ak explained further. "There's six of them. Over."

Jake and I looked at each other once again with frowns. Kai'ora and I began to fly a little faster, with more haste, as did Jake and Neteyam.

"Where are they?" I asked quickly still frowning.

"What's your Pos? Over." Jake asked our son.

"Uhm..." Lo'ak paused. "We're at the old shack..."

    "Who's we?" Jake questioned.

Neteyam and I carried similar looks of concern hearing Lo'ak.

"Me... Spider, Kiri... And Tuk." Lo'ak said knowingly with a sigh.

My heart raced against my chest and I gasped out loud. Each of my children and Spider were in danger. My Son and two daughters, including my baby Tuk. She was much to young to be able to defend herself in such a dangerous situation. Lo'ak's recklessness likely to have led them there. But I couldn't blame much of his curiosity. He got that from me. Now I know how my parents felt when I went wandering off...

"Get them back at once." I hissed.

"Son, you listen to me very carefully." Jake relayed. "You pull back right now. Do not make a sound. You get the hell out of there. Move! You copy?"

"Yes, sir. Moving out." Lo'ak replied.

"See, I told you." I heard Kiri whisper before Lo'ak let go of the button.

"Mom, Dad, I know a quick way." Neteyam offered and we both nodded.

Kai'ora and I swung around following after my eldest child.

"Please, Mother if you can hear me. Protect my children. Let them come home safely." I prayed quietly as I raced behind Neteyam with Jake hot on my tail.

I closed my eyes for a mere minute and felt my connection to the kids. Tuk's heart was racing. My baby was scared... No, terrified. Kiri, she was worried. Lo'ak felt guilt... Suddenly I felt pain. My eyes flew open and I gasped.

3RD PERSON POV:

"You're going to be in so much trouble." Kiri reminded Lo'ak quietly as they began to run back towards home.
Tuk was running ahead of them, leading the way.

"Shh, Kiri. Stop." Lo'ak said, knowing he didn't need the reminder.

"Guys, come on." Spider rolled his eyes at his friends.

"It's almost eclipse, come on." Tuk hurried her siblings.

Suddenly she screeched when turning back around, as a Blue Avatar leapt from the tree line in front of her. The man in army clothing bared his teeth and grabbed Tuk in his arms. Spider immediately raised his bow into the air, letting out snarls and hisses of his own. Lo'ak too raising his bow into the air and hissing at the rest of the incoming Army Avatars.

"Tuk!" Kiri cried out in fear for her sister.

"Put it down! Down! Put it down or I'll shoot you!" One of the Avatar's commanded them.

"With me." Colonel Quaritch said to Lyle.

    "Drop it right now!"

The man held up a weapon to Tuk's head making Lo'ak's eyes go wide.

"Do not move! Put your hands up!"

"Put it down. Put it down." Lo'ak mentioned softly after laying his own bow on the ground towards Spider.

"Spider." Kiri said, seeing him still too tense to move.

    "Hands up!" Fike demanded.

Reluctantly Spider lowered his bow and tossed it to the ground.

    "Get 'em!" They called out.

The Avatar men and woman surrounded the children, each of them grabbing one of the kids.

    "Kiri!" Tuk cried out frightened.

One of the men grabbed Kiri roughly, yanking her further away from her siblings.

"Come here! Get down!" He demanded and kicked the back of Kiri's knee. She collapsed down towards the ground. "Stop fighting." He growled struggling with Kiri.

    "Don't move!"

    "Check 'em for weapons."

"Kiri." Tuk whined. Her arm being held in an awkward hold by the man and he was hurting her.

"Be calm." Kiri directed her softly.

"Shut up and don't move." The man holding Kiri snarled.

"What have we here?" Quaritch wondered as he walked into the circle of captured children.

Tuk let out a screech of pain as the man held her around her neck. Spider was also being held by a man tightly. Lo'ak was forced to the ground, onto his knees with a gun to his head. Two men began having to hold Kiri as she fought harder to be freed.

"Hey Colonel, check it out. Four fingers. We gotta half breed." Lyle smirked showing the Colonel Kiri's hands.

"Shit." Spider whispered knowing this meant trouble.

Kiri grunted loudly as Lyle grabbed her braid and pulled, forcing her head up as the Colonel approached them. Kiri breathed heavily as they stared at each other for a moment. The Colonel looked around at each of the kids and moved over towards Lo'ak.

"Show me your fingers." Quaritch demanded. Lo'ak slowly lifted both of his hands up into the air and flipped the Colonel off with both hands making him chuckle. "You're his and hers, aren't you?" Lo'ak retaliated by hissing and baring his teeth. "You're theirs alright." He smirked. The Colonel's smirk faded away and he grabbed Lo'ak by the back of the head on his braid making him grunt in pain.

"Lo'ak, don't." Spider called out to his friend.

"Where are they?" Quaritch demanded holding Lo'ak tightly in his grasp.

"Sorry, I don't speak English... To buttholes." Lo'ak remarked.

"Where is your father and mother?" Quaritch demanded again in Navi tongue surprising Lo'ak. Lo'ak groaned loudly as the grip on his head tightened.

"No!" Tuk cried out for her brother and tried to fight her way free from the cadet holding her.

"Really? You wanna play it this way?" Quaritch asked. He reached into his back pocket with his free hand and unsheathed a large knife.

Kiri began shouting very quickly in Navi, making the men holding her have to hold her a little tighter. She was a fighter. As she begged for Quaritch to leave her brother alone, to take it out on her instead. Quaritch turned to her and let Lo'ak go. Forcing him roughly to the ground.

"Kiri, no!" Lo'ak yelled for his sister as Quaritch approached her. "Stop!"

"Hey! Hey, don't touch her!" Spider yelled with rage. "Hey!" He growled and fought harder. Quaritch noticed him becoming intrigued by the human boy.

"Don't hurt her, please." Lo'ak begged.

"Don't move." The man holding Tuk growled at her making her stop fighting.

"What's your name, kid?" Quaritch asked as he looked at him curiously.

    "Spider." Spider huffed. "Socorro."

Quaritch waved at his man to let Spider go and he knelt down in front of him slowly.

    "Miles?"

"Nobody calls me that." Spider replied with a scowl on his face.

"I'll be damned." Quaritch said in realization. "Well, I figured they sent you back to Earth."

"They can't put babies in Cryo, dipshit." He scoffed back.

Quaritch looked at his son for a moment and waved his man back in. Coming back he grabbed Miles long dreadlocked hair and his arm.

"What are we doin' boss?" One of the cadets asked.

"Iron Sky, Blue One, Actual." Quaritch spoke into his com link around his neck.

"Blue One, Iron Sky, send your traffic." A woman on the other end replied.

"We are standing by for extract, over... Be advised we are bringing in high value prisoners."

"Let us go!" Kiri fought as the all began to move.

    "Shut up!" Lyle demanded.

"Sit tight, Blue One, we're inbound to your POS."

The battalion of Army Avatars moved through the forest with the kids in hand. Spider watched as Quaritch and Lyle managed to extract the old data from the AMPSUIT human Quaritch died in. The old scene showed Jake and Y/n fighting with him during his last moments.

YOUR POV:

Kai'ora landed on a large tree branch within the Pandora forest just shortly after Neteyam. My body stung all over and the back of my head was throbbing. My children were in danger and I was beyond angry. I hopped off her back and nuzzled her chin with my hand calming her down and I disconnected our bond. Jake and Neteyam both rushed over towards me.

"Mom?" Neteyam asked and I waved him off.

"I'm fine, son." I stated and looked to my husband with worry and determination in my eyes.

"No, no, you stay with the Ikran." Jake said gently. Neteyam looked at him surprised.

"But, Dad. I'm a warrior like you and Mom. I am supposed to fight." He argued.

"Neteyam." I said gently and he looked over at me. "You are brave and strong. But we need you to stay here."

"But." Neteyam argued.

"I'm not gonna say it again." Jake stated.

They both stared each other down for a moment.

"Yes, sir." Neteyam obeyed and moved to go back towards the Ikran. I brushed my fingers along his arm as he walked by and nodded gently at him.

All I could hope was that he'd stay safe and that we weren't to late to rescue his siblings. The sun began to go down and rain started to pour from the skies. Jake and I ran through the forest towards the old shack. I could feel that we were getting closer to our children. We separated and I climbed high up into one of the trees crossing the limbs and using the giant leafs as disguise.

I let out a small yip into the air like an animal noise. A sound my children would hear and recognize as me. A symbol we had made for each other in case something like this ever happened. My heart nearly stopped in my chest as I looked around the large tree seeing all the alien avatars surrounding my children. Holding them captive. My blood boiled and I raised my bow into the air. Kiri was chanting to Ewya asking for safety as she knew what was about to begin.

"Shut up." The guard on Kiri and Spider said moving into the perfect position.

I let my arrow fly from my bow, straight into the man's skull. Spider rushed and pushed Kiri out of the way as they were freed, while Quaritch and his large weapon leapt past them to shoot at my tree. Quickly I moved my body and took cover while bullets began to fly into the thick wood.

"Lo'ak!" I called out to my son as each of the army men were focused on shooting into the forests.

Lo'ak pulled the pin on a gas grenade that was attached to one of the men's belts. Green smoke began filling the air and blinding the man holding him. Lo'ak sunk his teeth into the arm of the man making him yell out in pain. Tuk followed her brother's lead and bit into the man holding her.

"Ah, you little shit!" The man cried out and pushed Tuk off him.

Lo'ak came rushing around and grabbed Tuk before she could hit the ground. The smoke filling the air and helping to hide the children.

"Tuk, come on, run." Lo'ak ushered her quickly.

"Run!" Spider yelled. He grabbed a hold of Kiri and began to try to escape.

"Grab 'em!" Quaritch demanded seeing them escaping.

One of the men reached out and grabbed Kiri by her hair, ripping her away from Spider. I bared my teeth and as soon as the bullets stopped I turned around the tree and let another arrow fly into the chest of the person holding my daughter. Spider went back for her and began to lead her away once again. I quickly moved back behind the tree, just grateful to see she was getting away.

"That you Mrs. Sully?" Quaritch called out from behind a fallen log. My blood froze at the sound of the man's voice. Miles Quaritch was dead. I killed him, it was impossible for him to be alive. My eyes widened. "I recognized your calling card... Why don't you come on out, Mrs. Sully. You and I, we got some unfinished business."

"Spider, come." Kiri pulled on Spider to keep moving. They were nearly escaped.

I took in a deep breath and narrowed my brows.

"Demon!" I yelled out from behind my tree. "I will kill you as many times as I have to!" I growled.

"I guess you and the Corporeal have been pretty busy, haven't you?" Quaritch called back. "Dropped yourselves a whole litter of Half breeds." He stated with disgust.

I closed my eyes and felt the forest around me. I sniffed the air. A foreign smell filled my nose and I cringed. They were trying to corner me. As I tried to focus on where they were coming from. To my side I heard the soft plop on the ground of a body. I quickly turned to see Neteyam breathing heavily lowering his bow. The body on the ground with an arrow in the back. I moved around to see Quaritch load his gun and aim it at my son.

"Na'vi!" Quaritch yelled.

Neteyam loaded and arrow onto his bow. I was about to jump from my tree to rescue my son, when Jake came bursting through the thick forest brush and tackled him to the ground just as gun fire began to rain on them.

"Move, go, go, go!" Jake demanded. They ran until they came to a large tree which they took cover behind. "You good? You okay, boy?"

"Yeah." Neteyam replied.

"Okay. With me. Ready? Ready?" Jake asked.

"Yes, sir!" Neteyam nodded.

Jake jumped out from behind the tree and began firing his own weapon back at the enemy.

"Move!" Jake yelled.

At Jake's summons, I jumped from the tree and began to run across the branches back into the forest. I tumbled slightly as an explosion occurred behind me. I grunted in pain, but pushed my body to keep moving. As I ran there was another explosion.

"Spider?" I heard Kiri call out as I ran. I jumped down from my branch and onto the next one seeing Kiri bent down looking over the side.

"Kiri!" I said worriedly and I grabbed at her arms trying to hoist her back to her feet.

"Spider!" Kiri shouted.

"Come! Come on!" I said urgently.

"Mom, Spider. He's down there." Kiri fought me as we ran. She got out of my hold and grabbed onto part of the tree looking down below.

I moved over beside her and scanned the ground for him. He wasn't my child, he was a sky person. But a part of me couldn't let him get left behind. He meant so much to my children. I growled to myself in debate until I began to climb down the tree to rescue him. Just as I started, the army avatars came through the trees. I hissed and climbed back up towards my daughter and covered her mouth with my hand. Hiding us against the tree as much as I could.

"Fall back!" Quaritch's Avatar demanded at his men. He knelt next to Spider's body and then picked him up and slung him over his shoulder. Moving the opposite direction from us.

"Mom, Spider!" Kiri whimpered under my hand.

"I know. I'm sorry. Come, we must move." I urged her. "Kiri, they have him, there's nothing we can do without further putting you in danger. We must go."

"Spider." Kiri said sadly as I let her go.

I took her cuffed hands into mine and began to run with her in tow beside me. We ran over the branches and the wet moss and leaves from the trees. I heard a small whimper from down below us and we headed in that direction. It was Jake, Neteyam, Lo'ak and Tuk.

"Are you hurt?" Jake asked Lo'ak.

"No, I'm okay." Lo'ak insisted.

"Tuk, are you hurt?" Jake quickly asked our youngest. Tuk moved into Jake's arm.

"Daddy." She cried snuggling into him.

"Hey, hey, it's okay." Jake assured her wrapping his arms around her.

A large ship began to descend down towards the ground. Kiri and I stopped moving and hid while we watched the Alien Avatars be extracted from the ground with Spider in tow. As it began to rise back up into the air we moved onward again and towards the rest of our family.

"Okay, we're clear. We're clear. Is everyone okay?" Jake asked quickly.

"Mom!" Tuk cried out as Kiri and I approached.

I ran towards my daughter and caught her as she slammed into my body. She was shaking from being so terrified and her small sniffles turned into larger ones. As she cried, I couldn't help but let tears of my own fall. I had never been so scared in my entire life. My children's lives were in danger and somehow, someway we all came out of it unharmed.

"Thank you, great Mother. Thank you." I breathed lowly. Thanking her for watching over my children in our hour of need. Kiri walked over towards us and I pulled her into Tuk and I's hug.

"It's okay. It's okay." Jake repeated as he pulled Neteyam and Lo'ak into him for a hug. "We're okay."

"Where's Spider?" Lo'ak asked and Kiri turned towards him. Tears filling her eyes and water from the rain streaming down her face.

"They took him." She said and began to cry harder.

"It's okay. It's all right, baby girl. He's a tough kid." Jake cooed gently and he pulled her in for a hug. "It's all right. Shhh. He's gonna be okay. We're all gonna be okay." Jake said and he looked into my eyes.

His hand reached out towards mine and I grabbed his back. I could see the concern in his face. Jake was already thinking ahead and thinking of a plan. Our family was safe... Or was it? Quaritch was back and he was some how an Avatar. He threatened to destroy my family and I wasn't going to let that happen. I wasn't sure how, but I wouldn't. The biggest issue at hand : what were we gonna do now?

WHOO! Another chapter for the book! I am so sorry it took so long to get another one out. I just finished writing this one today and I hope you all enjoyed it. I am currently writing like 3-4 stories all at once 😅. I typically try not to tie myself up like that, but it is what it is. So I can't say for sure when the next chapter will be out. But know I am working on it and as soon as the next one comes available I will update! Thank you all so much for being such great readers and followers of mine. I appreciate each one of you more than you possibly could know! XOXO 💋
