With my head down, I am approaching my school where overworked teachers will employ me for more than seven hours.
Halsey again improves my mood with a song that crawls off my headphones.
I put a gentle smile when an old man approaches me.
With the assumption that this is a tourist asking for the directions, I unplug my ears.
"Miss, would you have three euro?"
My heart misses a beat.
I straighten my back and I'm about to answer, but a middle-aged guy with a very strong accent speaks again.
"You know, I need money to buy a train ticket. I am from Prague and I was robbed. "
One would believe him.
Only if he came up with something more original.
A year ago, my classmate and I were stopped by a similar unknown beggar for the money saying his wallet was stolen.
He claimed to be a university professor of physics. I had the urge to ask him about some law, but a well-educated man wearing sandals in winter made me suspicious.
"Well, I'd like to help, but I forgot my wallet. I have no money with me. "
It didn't sound very convincing. I am slowly pulling away from him.
"Pretty but greedy." He shakes her head and murmurs under his nose.
