"I seriously can't believe you brought me here."
Yoongi stood next to Hoseok at the entrance of the tech store, looking around dumbfoundedly. "I seriously can't believe you got your phone looking that that," Hoseok said pointing at Yoongi's phone, the shattered glass and missing home button deeming the device unfixable. "What even happened anyway?"
Yoongi thought back to his encounter with Taehyung and Jungkook. "Dammit," he whispered to himself.
"Huh?"
"Twat hasn't even given me back my sheets yet," Yoongi further mumbled.
Yoongi jumped when felt a tap on his shoulder. "You good, man?" Hoseok questioned with a puzzled look.
"Ah, yeah," he responded. "Just get in my own world sometimes."
"Yeah, I've noticed," Hoseok chuckled, showing off his heart-shaped smile again. Yoongi couldn't help but feel his charisma. One smile from the Sunshine was all it took to make Yoongi feel a little lighter.
"Go ahead and look around. The store is yours, burger boy."
"Could you at least call me by my name?" Yoongi sighed. Of course the sun was essential in keeping the world spinning, but at times it could be blinding. Annoying even. Kind of like this Sun before Yoongi.
"That's pushing it. Now go pick out a $2000 iPhone mitochondria Polish euro eleventy-seven or something."
Yoongi sighed again, walking off as Hoseok stood waiting by the entrance. After passing by a few aisles of camera equipment and a long row of large flatscreen TVs, he found the mobile phones.
He turned into the aisle, seeing the displays of numerous cell phones flash their little screens.
As Yoongi glanced at each price tag, his eyes began to widen. Getting wider and wider with each step. "$299... $450... $800?"
He stopped in the middle of the aisle giving him the perfect view of the entrance. Hoseok was still standing at the front door on the other side of the tech building. Despite being so far away, Yoongi could see Hoseok's soft delicate hands tapping away at his phone. He smiled while playing a game, flashing his perfect teeth and making Yoongi melt.
Despite Hoseok being anything but gentle thus far, Yoongi couldn't help but ache for him in the most delicate way with his little actions and mannerisms.
His mouth frowing, revealing adorable dimples. His sincere smile, forming in the shape of a heart. His glowing eyes, holding dozens of endless galaxies. The way his shoulders hunched when giggling and how he ran his hands through his hair when tired.
Yoongi had only known him for a short time, but he already loved every piece of Hoseok he was able to fit together.
"Hey there! Need help?"
A short brunette in a blue polo and khakis appeared beside Yoongi, smiling brightly with kind eyes.
"Ah..." Yoongi said startled. He glanced back and forth at all of the smart phones helplessly. "Yes, please" he eventually sighed out.
The brunette motioned for Yoongi to follow her, walking past all of the Samsung devices and directly to the iPhone display. His mouth dropped at the prices, even higher than the ones before.
"How about those ones?" Yoongi asked pointing back to the Samsungs.
"Ew, you don't want Android quality," the woman said.
As soon as Yoongi felt a red flush of frustration creep onto his face, he felt a nudge on his arm. "Everything good?" Hoseok asked.
"Just overwhelmed is all," Yoongi replied lowly. He had been used to buying just what he'd needed to get by and only splurged when it came around holidays. The sudden thought of being spoiled with something so expensive on a day so random was incomprehensible to him.
He walked to the cheaper phones, leaving Hoseok and the tech store employee. The only thing he was willing to let Hoseok buy him was a $20 flip phone.
But why was he buying anything for Yoongi in the first place? They were basically strangers with one infatuated over the other without completely knowing who they were.
As Yoongi's mind raced for a possible reason as to why a random customer from McDonald's was now spending both time and money with him, Hoseok appeared next to Yoongi with a bag.
"Alright, let's get outta here."
Yoongi looked at Hoseok, then the bag, and then back to Hoseok. "Uh, what's that?"
"Your phone," Hoseok casually said walking off to the check out. Yoongi sped up next to him astonished.
"My what now?" Yoongi held a hand before Hoseok's chest, stopping him just a few yards of the check-out line. "Dude, shouldn't I look at it first? Or better yet, put it back?"
Instead of being taken aback, Hoseok's mouth flatlined in judgment, revealing his hidden dimples. "You're not gonna walk around with some brick for a phone with no connection 2 yards away from you," he began. "I'm buying you this," he said lifting the bag.
Hoseok lightly shoved Yoongi out of the way and headed back for the checkout line. But the burger boy was adamant, rushing up to Hoseok again.
"Hey, isn't that phone shaming?"
"Oh my god, shut up," Hoseok said putting the bag on the counter. He looked to the side in an attempt to hide his expression, but Yoongi noticed the quick smile that danced on Hoseok's face for a mere moment. And he smiled too.
"That'll be $970," the cashier said. Yoongi suddenly broke through, in shock at the price. "Woah, I don't think so," he said getting in front of Hoseok and facing the cashier. He quickly turned back to see the astonished look on Hoseok's face.
"Dude, you can't."
"Dude, I am," he responded plainly. "Now move before I rat you out to Namjoon."
Yoongi scoffed. "He is the least of my worries. That's Jin's business."
Hoseok laughed lightly at Yoongi's remark, remembering the embarrassment painted on both of Seokjin and Namjoon's faces after bursting through the bathroom door. "Seems like pretty good business."
"To you," Yoongi said. "I bet you're mentally stripping every person that walks by because you haven't even done anything in so long."
"You're literally the one who had their phone stuck on fucking Grindr, Yoongi."
"So are you gonna buy the phone or not?" the cashier impatiently asked.
"Shit," Hoseok mumbled while frantically feeling for his wallet. "Ah, here." He handed the cashier his card with a smile, getting a weird look from the cashier in return.
"You be careful on that Grindr," the cashier said staring at Yoongi. "I've been through some shit, man."
Yoongi was unable to come up with a response, embarrassment taking over and turning his whole face a bright red.
The cashier then handed Yoongi the bag - phone, receipt, and all. "Take care lil man."
Hoseok and Yoongi walked out of the store, the blond even redder from humiliation and the Sunshine's smile going wide. "I guess I'll call you that from now on."
"Don't you fucking dare-"
"Shut up, lil man."
"This is worse than burger boy," Yoongi sighed out.
"Hey, look on the bright side," Hoseok said taking the bag from Yoongi and reaching for the box inside. "You got an iPhone X with like... all the storage."
"Hoseok, what the hell?" Yoongi gasped. "Why on earth would you buy someone you barely even know a brand new phone? An iPhone?"
"Why are you freaking out now? They literally said $970 at checkout."
"I don't know. It's just..." Yoongi hesitated. "I planned on paying you back, but I honestly don't think I can. Not for another decade."
"Don't worry about it," Hoseok said casually.
"What?" Yoongi said, the shock returning to his expression as if it never left.
"You can pay me back in another way."
