Chapter 2 - Plothole
I looked behind me, my room was nowhere in sight. I fell down, my bed had disappeared. I was already dressed, so that wasn't a problem, but you wouldn't believe how disoriented I was. In front of me was Sitorro, she didn't seem to notice me, she was too focused on the battle in front of her. But, she turned around, and saw me. I was too shocked to move, and when Death fired off one massive beam of magic, she grabbed my arm and threw me. Her lower half was caught in the blast. I was still paralyzed, confused, frozen in place. But, I saw her face, pain stricken from the blast, and with a tremendous effort got up. I ran over to her, and pulled as hard as I could, eventually getting her out. "You wretch... I had almost won...why!? For that- for that you shall pay." He turned to me. A dark hand forced in the direction of my face. It wasn't human, but crystalline. It's black color absorbing all but white light.
Sitorro decided to make a sacrifice. "No, Death. You're wrong. He is not the one who will be paying. Don't underestimate my power!" She sprinted, tackling me and sending me out of the way, Death stopped. "It is not you who I am against right now, Sitorro. Stand back-" He was interrupted. "NO!" Sitorro stayed where she was, on top of me, not moving. "So this is how it ends huh..." I said, quietly. Sitorro turned to me and smiled. "You may have slowed me down, but it's worth it. I couldn't save my family, so I'll save you instead." Death dramatically fired the biggest blast he had. Afterall, this seemed to be part of the anime and everything is blown out of proportion. It got a couple meters away, and my surroundings became familiar again. I was back home, in my apartment, with a woman sprawled over me.
"... Wh-what the heck!?" I said, surprised to back home. Sitorro looked around, frantically. "Where am I? Did I die? Is this the afterlife?" She had no reason to think differently. Bright lights, odd rectangles with words and pictures, air conditioning, etcetera, etcetera. "Umm... no?" My body was paralyzed again, unable to move. This was my second world jump in what? 5 minutes? Sitorro seemed confused. "Then where are we? And how do you know where we are? Did you bring us here?" I decided that I should just tell her what was going on "Umm... welcome to my apartment." I said, my words trailing off. There was a long silence afterwards.
"Ok, I'm not going to try to kill you like I think others would, but I'm going to ask you this, and you'd better answer with the truth, and nothing but the truth. Who are you, where am I, and how do you know my name?" Well crap. This wasn't going to go over well. I tried to think of how to stall my way out of this, but knew it would be of no use. I had to think of something to say, and quickly. "Long story, up for one?" That was probably the worst thing I could've said, but I had to roll with it now. I hoped she wasn't, I hoped she would just kill me because I didn't want to explain. I didn't know how. Sitorro stood up, backing away, her eyes locked with mine. "Spill." She replied. CRAP! I thought about what to say, there were some things I could and some I couldn't. Did she even have the same memories as her counterpart from the anime?
"A-alright." I said. Trying to keep as calm as I could. I picked up my phone, hopefully it would help me explain. "Your first question, who am I? Well, I'm nobody. Nobody of note at least. My name is Hunter, and I'm an artist by definition. Nobody special. To answer your second question...Well- like I said before, you're in my apartment. But, as far as I can tell, you're in another world. Separate from your own." I hoped that wasn't too much information...please...just understand. "Another world? That's BS. I don't even detect any magic power from you! Just who do you think you are, lying to me? Maybe I shouldn't have saved you, Hunter. What did you do to earn the name of my father anyway? You're just some scum of the streets. Go back to exile where you belong." She wasn't smiling like usual, and her hand was gripping her Katana like a tiger with a human play toy. "Just hear me out, please. I know, it sounds insane. But, what proof would you like? Say what you want and it shall be done." I bowed, her culture was similar to Japan, so bowing was still a sign of respect, and bowing to someone there was an ultimate demonstration. Especially in a kill or be killed world where weakness was Death. She looked at me, her eyes wide. "Did you just- but- why?" She was confused, and startled. And then I realized something. No one had bowed to her before. Unless you hated yourself, bowing to her was telling a rock it was superior to you. Although she was powerful, although she currently had dominion over a majority of her country, she was still the very definition of exile. "I promise, I'm not trying to mislead you. You're highly respected on this planet as a hero, and if I tried anything sketchy, I'd have the police riding my butt. You'll have to trust me." She looked at me for a second. "Alright, it'll be fine. But- did you just bow to me? I'm an exile, you aren't supposed to bow to me." I rose, smiling. "I'm fully aware. But, like I said, unlike where you're from, you're respected here." She sighed, moving on. "Well, alright. Thank you." She nodded, confused and blushing, but composed. Any chance for debate had since passed.
