Chapter 10 - X
"Hello, Morodase." Sparrow said as I woke up. She was a kind woman, even if suicidal and depressed. She liked to question the world and it's actions, especially since she was often abused by people other than me. "Hey Sparrow..." I said and rolled out of bed. She used to call me Master, but per my request, now she just calls me Morodase or Moe. My NeuroMessenger, a device for sending and receiving messages using Neuro-Transmission, beeped. We had intruders. I pulled up the security cameras connected to the transmitter, 40 figures in cloaks stormed up the driveway. I took my usual precautions, locking down the base except for the doors that require admin access, and there were only only two admin on site. The others, my brothers, sisters, nieces, and nephews, were all in other places, some on other planets, and some just in different cities. They broke down the front door pretty easily, but it was expected- it being glass- and then came through the door to four walls of pure diamond. "Beat that!" I said aloud, laughing. Unlike their technology, I had found a way to meld diamond together. They tapped on the wall, slightly confused. One of the figures took a large package out of their bag and set it next to the wall. Seeing this, I took the intercom, they knew I was here, so why not have a little bit of fun. "Have the fireworks begun?" I said, mocking them. They looked around, confused where the sound came from. Probably deciding it wasn't worth their time, the figure with the package evacuated everyone and lit the package on fire. There was no fuse, it just blew up. I turned off the intercom. "Suicide bombers? What the hell to they think their doing?" I turned to Sparrow. "What should we do? We can torture them, or toy with them." She thought for a second. "Knowing you, we will accomplish both at the same time." She was always like this, acting like a slave that could only say good things about their master. This wasn't the type of person I wanted to be, but I couldn't reprimand her for trying to compliment me. "Your words flatter me." I said, trying to be as friendly as possible. I knew it wouldn't work, I saved her life and she insisted on being my bodyguard with absolute loyalty. Nonetheless, I think it made it easier on her for me to be nice. I looked again at the security cameras. "What the hell? They made it through!?" I came on the intercom. "I don't know what the hell you did, but congratulations! You made it to level two! The difficulty will now get harder." I turned off the intercom again, and brought up a terminal on the Neuro-Transmitter. I deployed the ceiling turrets and walked down to the storeroom, spawning some zombies and skeletons along the way. I was one of the few people to exist to know magic, albeit only Necromancy. By the time I got down to the storeroom, there were only three survivors. Due to my nature, my creations spared who they could once they were disarmed, and in this case, these three were the last. The creations who caught them, two skeletons and a zombie, stood behind them, holding on to ropes tied like leashes and attached to the necks of the intruders. "Stand by." I told the creatures, and they moved to stand in a line across the door. I hand-cuffed the survivors and cut the ropes, taking off their hoods and masks carefully. "Hello," I said, going to the center of the room. "I will not hurt you unless I have to, and prefer not to torture you. My only purpose right now is to gather information. If you tell me who sent you, I will send you back unharmed, maybe even with some money in your pockets. If you don't, I will force the information out of you, not by torture, but by Blight." One of the survivors- a skinny, brown haired woman- smiled. "Do you think that we would ever tell you? Even under duress?" Nah, I didn't. It was worth a shot though. I was going to have to get a little bit firmer. "Tell me what you know, or you'll find yourself unable to control your own body." I said, I wasn't lying, I was mad. Catching a glimpse of movement in a corner, I turned, quickly. No one was going to be able to kill me in this world, so I wasn't that worried. A woman in a Kimono walked out of the darkness, frightened, but composed. A flick of the woman's tail announced who she was, it was my niece, Sitorro. I hadn't seen her in 300 years, and never in this world. I laughed a hearty laugh. "How'd you get here?" I said, happily. "With help from some new friends. One of them looks exactly like Hunter, and his name is Hunter, but he's way too dumb to be Father." She giggled. "Hey!" A boy shouted from the corner where she came from, walking out as though he was cued. "I'm not that dumb! Though, I am pretty young, you at least got that right. Oh! Sorry, yes. I'm Hunter, and my friend Jade is in the corner over there." He said, motioning her over. "I'm right behind you, baka." She said, giving the boy a soft punch to the shoulder. "Thank you both for taking care of my handful of a niece." I put my hands on both their shoulders, and closed my eyes. Sitorro had her hands on her hips, her cheeks puffed. She was just as I remembered, shy and curious, but also funny and caring, and when called for, menacing and heroic. The perfect heroine. I opened my eyes again, but, something was off. I was in a blindingly white room with technology that, if slight changes were made, could rival mine. "Again?" The boy asked. "And why now?"
