Toriel...ex....Dreemurr.
The ex wife of Asgore, and the mother of Asriel and Chara.
Yeah.
Her.

Ya see, not many people like Toriel as much as I do. Well, whatever, here's a really unpopular opinion:

Toriel is my favorite character.

Well, right under Chara, of course. Don't be ridiculous!

Now....if you'll let me, I would like to explain.

(Oh yeah, and...spoilers!)

First, let's talk about her and Asgore.

Basically, she's his runaway wife. After Asgore declared war, Toriel ran to the ruins in pure disgust of his actions. There, she vowed to protect any human that fell.

However, due to all of the humans' large amounts of determination, she couldn't stop a single one from leaving.

After Frisk, the eighth human, left her care, she went into despair. She believed that she had failed yet another child.

"Pathetic, is it not? I could not save even a single child."

This indicates the utter grief she feels after you refuse to fight her.

"Do you really hate me...that much..?"

This shows us her shock after we kill her in a true genocide run. She gave us a home, food, and love. All we did was stab her in the back. Literally. With a toy knife.

That's pretty fucked up.
