Howerty Author's Notes

A few little tidbits of things you may or may not have known or noticed about things in the Howerty books. Please note that this may contain spoilers if you haven't read the books yet!

* The series started as an amalgamation of two separate series I had started planning or writing as a teen. I stole bits from each and turned it into what is now the Howertys.

* In my original drafts, the Howertys were a set of four sisters, but now we--of course--have our head of the family, the oldest brother, Nathaniel trying to lead his (rather unwilling) sisters through the trials and tribulations of Regency London.

* Nathaniel and Angel's story (A Midsummer Night's Kiss) was a completely separate story. It was a contemporary, and rather than Philip leaving Angel in Hyde Park after a carriage ride, in the original story, he abandoned her after a ride on his motorcycle. (Is it bad that I've been wanting to write this contemporary version of the story again? lol)

* The scene where Angel tells Nathaniel she loves him and he doesn't respond is based on a real-life experience. But in my case, it didn't end with a happily ever after since the guy most definitely heard and simply grunted in reply. (And we had been together for nearly five years, so it was his rather un-subtle way of telling me he no longer loved me... but I digress!)

* In the entire series, the only person Jacob calls sweetheart, is Jessica.

* Previous titles for A Midsummer Night's Kiss were first A Rose for Angel, and at one point it was As He Likes It.

* The first title idea for Much Ado About Kissing was Measure for Marcus
