Chapter Twenty-Two
He watched her twist her hair up into curls, he watched her reflection as she looked up at him.
"What?" She playfully spoke as she kept focus on his reflection.
"Ambrosia." He smiled before stepping towards her, he leaned down and kissed her cheek.
Ambrosia felt his hands carefully run down to her stomach; he rested his hands on her small bump before kissing her cheek again "I love you."
"I love you," The sentence remained unfinished.
Waltz screamed into his office as he struggled to write the scene.
How could he write a scene full of love when his heart was full of pain. Maybe now he understood why his female characters always ended up murdered in his stories, maybe now he understood why his female characters always ended up inflicted with pain, maybe now he understood.
It wasn't because he was a woman hater, it was because all he knew was pain.
All he knew was women he loved walking away from him. All he knew was trying to set up a life full of love and hope only for his stories to reflect the opposite of his life.
Waltz looked up at the empty space of his home office.
"I can't write you." He breathed "I thought I could, but I can't. Not now. Not ever." He sighed before closing out of his word document, he closed his laptop lid before sitting back in his chair in silence.
