Chapter Thirty

Waltz stretched out in his empty bed, he felt better. He wasn't sure how long he had slept for; he wasn't sure what time exactly he had gone back to bed, but he knew his body had needed him to just pause for a short time.

He stared up at his ceiling as he pondered what to do with his character next.

Waltz knew it'd be too painful to just simply kill Ambrosia, he loved his characters and barely wanted them to be in harm's way, he had grown too attached to Ambrosia.

He sighed a little as he looked at the empty side next to him. He could feel the pain of heartbreak start to wash over him.

Waltz slowly allowed himself to leave his bed, he slowly allowed himself to leave his bedroom.

He shuffled himself down to the kitchen, ignoring his home office as the room echoed with thoughts of his story.

Waltz shuffled himself down into his kitchen, he paused for a moment.

His house felt empty.

He felt truly alone in his own home.

Waltz looked down at his wedding ring, he tried to twist it off, but it wouldn't budge off his finger.

He used his thumb to twist his ring around his finger as he stood in silence in his kitchen.

The house was once full of love, at least he thought it was full of love.

The house was once full of laughter, at least he thought it was full of laughter.

The house was once full of comfort and happiness, now it was just filled with regret and guilt.

Waltz sighed as he stopped fiddling with his wedding ring.

"HONEY!"

He turned his head to the hallway.

"Can we just stay in today?"

He shuffled his way up the hallway.

"Please? Let's just make a day of it. You, me. No interruptions."

Waltz smiled a little "I'd like that."

He could feel a step in his walk as he made his way back down to the kitchen "So, I was thinking." He absent mildly thought out loud as he rummaged through the fridge "I could watch all those movies with you." He smiled as he began to prepare what little he had for bacon, eggs and toast.

Waltz felt proud of himself as he carried the plate and cutlery to the bedroom, his mind had started to lead him down the make believe path of someone being in his bed.

"For me?"

Waltz carefully sat down on the edge of the bed, he placed the plate and cutlery down on the bedside table "Maybe tomorrow, after my meeting with Judith. We should ask Poppy if she could join us for dinner?"

"Poppy?"

Waltz nodded.

She shook her head "What happened last time?" she sighed.

"Fine. Just you and I. How about I take you to the place that you love?"

She scrunched up her face slightly.

"Right. Just staying in then?"

She nodded her head as she smiled up at him.
