Interview 61
Where are you from?
Jharkhand, India
How old are you?
20
What and who inspired you into reading and/or writing?
Wattpad Authors because only after reading books here, I thought that maybe I could do it too.
What was the first book that you read that started your love for reading?
To be honest, the first book I read was Ramayana. I used to read it every summer vacation, until high school.
What was the turning point in your life that you decided to take your writing seriously?
I wanted to write as soon as I read a few books here, but I was always afraid that I am not good enough and it's not a good time. Last October my grandfather passed away, I loved him but I never told him that. Since then I've realized time is never going to be perfect, so this March I started writing not caring about my grammar or story being boring.
What is the inspiration for your stories?
My dreams mostly, I get many ideas in my dreams.
Do you outline your stories or write whatever comes to mind?
I outline but fill in some parts with whatever comes to my mind.
What is your method of beginning to writing a book?
First, you have to read a lot of books if you want to write one and secondly don't overthink, okay! Just start writing, you'll get better with time.
Do you ever get attached to the characters in your story? If so, what part of their personality or quirks do you find relatable?
Every character a writer creates, somehow relates to them, especially the protagonist. Right now I've written only 13 chapters of my first novel, so there's nothing much to relate to yet.
Do you base your characters on people in your personal life, imagination, or both?
Both
What is the best part of writing a story?
You can change one's perspective to look at the world with writing, so that's the best part, affecting people with your mere words.
How do you deal with writer's block?
I stop thinking about the story at all, I busy myself with other things and it comes to me automatically at any instant.
Would you want to see your story or stories be adapted? If so, who would you want to play your characters?
Yes, I would like that but as I said it's an ongoing book, I still have to shape my characters. So I don't know as of now.
What kind of advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
If you want to write don't wait for a perfect moment, just start doing it and you'll get better with time.
Are you working on a new story?
I have many ideas but right now I'm more focused on finishing one book only then I'll work on new stories.
