Interview 47
Where are you from?
I can confirm I am from planet Earth
How old are you?
Fourteen
What and who inspired you into reading and/or writing?
When I joined Wattpad I read fanfiction mostly, and that inspired me to write my own after seeing everyone else's amazing work in that small Anne fandom (it turned out really bad, but that's where I started ;)). Slowly though, I started writing my own works, and I enjoy creating entirely new worlds now.
What was the first book that you read that started your love for reading?
That's honestly hard to say, I have to think way back for this one. I used to read anything that I could find (I would spend most of my time in the school library).
I have to say though I think Anne of Green Gable started my eternal love for reading. A great classic!
What was the turning point in your life that you decided to take your writing seriously?
I don't really take writing seriously, I just write for fun in my free time!
What is the inspiration for your stories?
It honestly depends on the story. For example, in 'The End of Everything' I took inspiration from my teacher after we discussed sometimes not knowing how to react or feel after someone has passed, so I decided to write the story. A lot of my characters are also based on people I know like my real friends or family members. I usually just make stuff up in my head though for the rest! Whenever I want to write about something, I write!
Do you outline your stories or write whatever comes to mind?
I write whatever comes to my mind. I am horrible at planning ANYTHING. This is why I can't write good Crime or Mystery stories
What is your method of beginning to writing a book?
Usually, I get a random idea in my head, and I start writing down the characters' names, etc. Then slowly I start to write from there.
Do you ever get attached to the characters in your story? If so, what part of their personality or quirks do you find relatable?
I get really attached to a lot of my characters because, as I said, I base them on people I know. Sometimes I base the main characters on myself, and I get attached to them because I can relate to my characters a lot.
Do you base your characters on people in your personal life, imagination, or both?
I already answered this by accident XD. But as I said, both but most people I know.
What is the best part of writing a story?
Probably seeing the reader's reactions, just wished I got more.
How do you deal with writer's block?
So far, I haven't been able to deal with writer's block. I think usually I do fight it off a small one by forcing myself to write, and the words automatically flow from there.
Would you want to see your story or stories be adapted? If so, who would you want to play your characters?
I don't feel like I would like my stories to be adapted or published at the moment. However, this view may change in the future :)
What kind of advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
Never give up! Practice makes progress, keep writing and slowly you'll see yourself getting better and better. Don't listen to anyone who tries to bring you down as well, your opinion is the one you should value the most at the end of the day.
Are you working on a new story?
Right now I'm working on my Open Novella Contest entry, 'Vanished'. Please feel free to check it out anytime! Otherwise, nothing else.
But do be expecting something new soon, I have a couple of ideas
