Interview 26
Where are you from?
Canada
How old are you?
15 turning 16 in November
What and who inspired you into reading and/or writing?
I started writing at a very young age and I would get my teachers to edit my short stories and they pushed me to start writing more often as they always used to say that I have a lot of potential. I didn't really get inspired by someone asI just started writing on my own because I felt like doing so.
What was the first book that you read that started your love for reading?
Unwind (I finished the whole series in a week it is so far the best book that I have read)
What was the turning point in your life that you decided to take your writing seriously?
Just last year, I from nowhere wanted to be a famous author on any platform so I started taking my writing very seriously.
What is the inspiration for your stories?
There is really no inspiration for all of my stories. I have just been through a lot and seen a lot of things so I like to connect each of the stories that I write to some of the things that I have experienced.
Do you outline your stories or write whatever comes to mind?
I write down the first thing that comes to mind and continue writing the summary to the point of how I want to end my story and then I create an outline of the following events and what each chapter is going to involve.
What is your method of beginning to writing a book?
I just randomly pick a song and then I would just again make up some next stories in my head and write them down making sure that I add some sort of conflict.
Do you ever get attached to the characters in your story? If so, what part of their personality or quirks do you find relatable?
I like making the main character like me and putting myself in their place as I don't want them to make inhumanly unrealistic decisions.
Do you base your characters on people in your personal life, imagination, or both?
the answer is both sometimes I just make up a character's personality while other times I base them on someone that I like or dislike.
What is the best part of writing a story?
For me, the best part of writing a story is just writing down the summary and deciding how to end the story and although it should be finishing a story I can't put that because I have never in my life completed a single book.
How do you deal with writer's block?
I usually listen to new types of music as they always say that music expresses the true feelings of someone and then I just tend to write stories based on those feelings making up many conflicts and pick the best one that would go with the story. I have personally never experienced writer's block as I just started writing so I have no idea how I am going to deal with it. Secondly, It's just my opinion that if you are very passionate about something such as writing then I don't think your imagination can ever run out of making new ideas. I don't think people can ever run out of creativity.
Would you want to see your story or stories be adapted? If so, who would you want to play your characters?
Ok, I would love someone to make my story a book as it would most likely make my parents really proud of me. I would honestly give new actors a chance to be in a movie because if my story is capable of being a movie or whatever then it's most likely, only capable of being a hit as well. Although I said new actors that do not mean that any one actor would work as I would want them to know acting very well.
What kind of advice would you give to an aspiring writer?
Don't stop writing the book that you are working on right now. Don't listen to the hate that you might get towards the book as not many people will have the taste in the genre that you are writing about. just finish the book and let your destiny decide what it's worth.
Are you working on a new story?
currently, I have a lot of ideas written down for now I am just focusing on finish the one that has been in my drafts for 3 years now.
