•TWENTY•
Aurorialis was, for lack of better words, absolutely magnificent. The words 'majestic' couldn't even hope to sum up the beauty of it. Hongjoong quickly realised that he might end up being perhaps a little distracted, so he tried to keep his eyes focused on Jongho's back, but he couldn't help but allow his gaze to wander towards the brightly lit up kingdom.
Fishes of all shapes, sizes and colours swam past, busy merpeople rushed around with their tails glittering underneath the bright lights, and the buildings looked as if they'd been carved out of marble. They were fast approaching the entrance to the castle however, so Hongjoong was a little disappointed he couldn't see more, but he hoped that Yeosang would allow them to explore.
Once Jongho sees Yeosang, the younger is quick to swim over to wrap his arms around the merman. They stopped just a few feet away from Yeosang, who had Sehyoon and two other mermen beside him. They could hear Yeosang giggle, and he and Jongho had a hushed conversation that was cut short by Seonghwa clearing his throat.
"Oh, right" Jongho releases Yeosang and glances back at Hongjoong, "Hongjoong, this is Yeosang, and of course you've already met Sehyoon. The other two are Yuchan and Donghun, Junhee's fiance's"
Hongjoong was a little confused about how that worked exactly, and he must have looked it because Yeosang started giggling at him.
"I can see your confusion there Hongjoong. Amongst merpeople, it's not uncommon to have more than one lover. Of course, I'm one of the ones who's happy with just the one" Yeosang smiles at Jongho, and then looks back at Hongjoong, "but there are a lot of merpeople here with multiple lovers. My father has three"
Hongjoong just nods, and he now realises just how different Aurora is compared to his world. He wondered what it would be like if the two worlds were to ever combine, but then he shudders as he thinks that if that were to happen, it would cause either a war or the total end of both worlds. He had watched enough movies to know that the combination of two worlds never ended well.
This was why he tried to avoid thinking of Seonghwa as anything more than a friend, knowing he'd never see the Elven Prince again once he left Aurora and went back to his world, but that was easier said than done. He glanced sideways at Seonghwa, blushing when he ended up catching the Elf staring at him. Seonghwa didn't turn away, instead smiling at the blue haired boy. Hongjoong looked away, closing his eyes for a moment.
'Damnit, damnit, damnit, why him of all people!? I'm never going to see him again once I leave! Why is this happening to me?' Hongjoong thought to himself, pouting.
He opens his eyes, trying to focus his attention on something else before Yeosang says something about exploring the kingdom, and Seonghwa is suddenly pulling him along.
"H-hey!" Hongjoong exclaims, "you could have asked if I wanted to explore the place with you!"
"I know how to get back to the palace. You don't. It's a given that we would explore together" Seonghwa laughed.
Hongjoong has nothing to say to that, and instead allows Seonghwa to pull him along until Seonghwa lets him go. The swim around, a concentrated frown on Seonghwa's face. Hongjoong thinks it's adorable, but immediately scolds himself for thinking like that.
The travel for a little while, before stopping outside of a coral pink coloured house with a teal coloured roof and teal coloured window frames.
"This is where Junhee and Byeongkwan live" Seonghwa smiled, "I think you'd like them; they are quite easy to get along with"
Seonghwa knocks on the door, and a bright red haired male opens the door. He's completely dry, and at the back of his mind he remembers Seonghwa telling him that the two sorcerers enchanted the place so it didn't take in water.
"Hello Seonghwa! It's good to see you again! And who is this one?" The Red haired male turns to Hongjoong, his smile so bright that it could put the sun to shame.
Hongjoong managed a weak smile back, and he found himself moving closer to Seonghwa.
"Hello Byeongkwan" Seonghwa chuckles, smiling as well, "this is Hongjoong"
"Ah, so this is the human Yeosang told me about. Come on in! Junhee is making some breakfast!" Byeongkwan pulls Hongjoong and Seonghwa inside, the younger helping in surprise.
Hongjoong expects to be dripping water all over the floor, but he finds himself suddenly completely dry the second he enters. The house is nice; framed seashells decorate the walls, and overall the interior gives off a very beachy feel.
Hongjoong thinks that he could live in a place like this, but as a shark swims by he's suddenly reminded that yes, he's deep underwater...in a house...that has no water inside it.
'This is crazier than my crazies imagination, and that's saying something...'
Ooft, okay, yeah, definitely NOT my best chapter, but I tried my best. Plz excuse me for not updating very often >~<
