•THIRTY-SIX•
The walk through the outskirts of the town was longer than Hongjoong had anticipated, but at least he got to look around at the quaint, but dry scenery. There were patches of greenery every now and again, but not as much as Hongjoong would like. He wished they would reach the mountains soon, but this detour would set them back a good lot of hours; possibly more.
After a while of walking, he feels Seonghwa grab a hold of his hand, lacing their fingers together. Hongjoong feels his face heat up, but he doesn't say anything, nor does he make any attempt to remove his hand from Seonghwa's. Admittedly, Hongjoong thinks it's nice knowing that someone actually likes him enough to hold his hand in public, and finds himself wishing Seonghwa would stop walking and just kiss him.
Hongjoong shakes his head free of those thoughts, mentally berating himself for even thinking that. It was still weird to think that he was actually dating an Elven Prince; at least, for the time he would be there. He becomes a little bummed at the thought he'd be going back to his world and would probably never see Seonghwa again.
"Hwa" Hongjoong mutters, tugging on Seonghwa's hand.
Seonghwa stops walking, turning to Hongjoong with his head tilted to the side in confusion. "What's wrong Joongie?"
Hongjoong says nothing, and instead tugs Seonghwa close to him, leaning up and pressing his lips against Seonghwa's. The Elven prince doesn't respond right away, too shocked to even think straight, but he eventually responds to the kiss by pressing his lips harder against the younger's.
Jongho and San share a look between them, but they say nothing and keep walking, knowing the two lovebirds would catch up sooner or later.
Seonghwa's arms snake around Hongjoong's waist, the prince pulling Hongjoong flush against him without breaking the kiss. Hongjoong's hands are gripping Seonghwa's arms so tight that the prince is sure that there'll be bruises on them later, but Seonghwa doesn't seem all that bothered.
Hongjoong breaks the kiss only when he's in desperate need of air, his breaths coming out in short bursts.
"What was that for hm?" Seonghwa asks, a small smirk on his face.
"No reason. I just...wanted to I guess" Hongjoong feels his face heat up, but he's making no move to push Seonghwa away.
Seonghwa chuckles, leaning back down to press his lips against Hongjoong's again in a short but sweet kiss.
"It's been a short time but...I feel like my heart already belongs to you" Seonghwa mutters against Hongjoong's lips before pulling away.
Hongjoong stares into Seonghwa's eyes, and he sees such a sincereness and openness in those eyes that it makes him tear up a little. He leans his head forward, burying his face against Seonghwa's chest as his arms wrap around Seonghwa in a hug.
"I'm sorry" Hongjoong's voice is barely audible and muffled, but Seonghwa still hears him.
"What are you sorry for?"
"I'm going to have to leave this place, and I'll be leaving you. I'll...I'll break your heart"
Seonghwa feels a pang of hurt in his chest, and he buries his face in Hongjoong's hair to hide the fact that he's tearing up as well.
"Let's not think about that right now okay? Right now, we're trying to get to the Mountains without being killed"
Hongjoong can hear the pain in Seonghwa's tone, but he doesn't comment on it. Both of their hearts are aching at the prospect of being separated after becoming so unbelievably close in such a short amount of time. However, they both silently agree to not talk about it until the time comes, and so they both begin to catch up with Jongho and San who hadn't even walked that far before stopping and waiting for them.
Both Jongho and San noticed that they both looked a little sad, and neither Seonghwa nor Hongjoong wanted to be too far away from the other. San had a good idea of what they may have talked about, as did Jongho. They knew that once they got Jongdae to open the portal, that would be the last they saw of Hongjoong, and neither San nor Jongho knew how Seonghwa would handle that when the time came...
Well would ya look at that? I actually did update today despite how dead inside I feel
Question: What's your favourite holiday?
My answer: Halloween all the way. I know it's become more of an American holiday nowadays, but I just love all the spooky shit that comes out of it OwO
