When Seonghwa was feeling fully recovered, the four of them finally moved out and left the cave they were staying in.
Wooyoung was still a little uncertain when it came to their plan. They were putting a lot of faith in two alphas they didn't know. At all.
And he had a lot more reason to be nervous around alphas than Seonghwa did. The older had always been in a position of power, so other alphas had to respect him.
Seonghwa could sense his nerves, as he always did, and never left his side because of this.
They chose to stay behind the alphas so they were always in their line of sight.
Are you doing ok? Seonghwa asked as they picked their way through the trees.
Wooyoung let out a small whine and nuzzled into the older's neck. I'm ok. I'm just scared... This is going to be a lot harder than we thought it would be.
I know. I owe you an apology. Seonghwa stopped walking and sat down. His ears fell back as he bowed his head. I should have planned this out better instead of acting on impulse.
Wooyoung whimpered and hurried forward to nuzzle into Seonghwa's chest and neck. Please don't. I'm the one who agreed to go. I want this just as much as you do.
Seonghwa looked up and the saddest expression crossed his face as he started to nuzzle Wooyoung as well.
A quiet huff came from in front of them, and Wooyoung turned to see Jongho's tan wolf and San's white wolf both staring at them.
Jongho tilted his head a little.
This no pack link thing is going to be challenging too. Wooyoung glanced at Seonghwa.
I'm not opening anything up. We are just staying with them until we find a place that we will be safe. The older licked Wooyoung's muzzle before they both stood and started walking forward again.
The two alphas watched them for a moment before resuming the lead.
They walked for most of the day and camped out in a small gathering of threes that night. All four were too nervous to light a fire since they didn't have the protection of a cave, so they ended up eating a cold meal.
A few days after getting together, San voiced the idea of going to a human town to try and get some supplies. While Seonghwa was nervous, the alpha said several times that he had been to one before and he was confident that as long as they stuck together, they would be fine.
So now, the four of them were laying down on the top of a hill observing the city in front of them.
Wooyoung laid his head on his front paws and wagged his tail back and forth as the sweet aroma of baked goods fill the air. Even in wolf form, his stomach grumbled loud enough that he earned a look from his three companions, although he did his best to ignore them.
You have money right? He asked as he looked up at Seonghwa.
The older just nodded his head, the pack in his jaw shaking a little.
Jongho trotted off to the side, followed by San, and the four of them proceeded to shift and dress.
"Ok, so we need to make sure to keep a low profile in here." San walked forward and ruffled his hair while glancing at the other alpha.
A soft smile crossed the younger's face as he nodded. "We will follow your lead."
"Are there other wolves here?" Seonghwa asked, taking Wooyoung's hand in his.
"Possibly. I have run into others before. But human towns are usually heavily guarded, and if they see anything suspicious they will act on it. So we need to focus on trying to get some supplies and getting out as fast as possible." San looked at all of them.
"Here." Seonghwa rummaged in his pack before slinging it over his shoulder. "Take this, just in case we get separated. Let's meet back here at sun down." He said as he handed both Jongho and San some money.
He received questioning looks from both of them.
Wooyoung had a feeling they knew that he and Seonghwa weren't telling the truth about where they were from.
Seonghwa had wanted to keep that a secret for their protection, and Wooyoung had agreed in a heartbeat. Mostly because he wanted to keep Seonghwa safe. There was no saying what the alphas would do when they found out that Seonghwa was basically royalty among the wolves... Being an heir to such a large and powerful pack was a big deal.
"Thank you." Jongho said as he tucked the money into a pocket.
Once that was settled, the four of them picked their way over to the main road leading into the town and joined the people heading through the main gates.
Wooyoung bit his lip and stayed close to Seonghwa's side. They didn't hold hands anymore now that they were in the city, but that didn't stop him from wanting to be close.
His wolf fought him a little though.
Ever since it had realized that they were staying with the alphas, it kept trying to push him in their direction, begging to be claimed by an alpha.
He was getting better and pushing it away, but he was nervous for when his heat was due to his in about a week or so.
They had left so quickly, neither he nor Seonghwa thought to raid the sick bay to get suppressants... And since this was a human town, there wouldn't be anyone selling them here.
Don't stress about it. It's not going to help anything. Seonghwa said, brushing his fingers against the younger's in an attempt to try and comfort him.
But what are we going to do? You know it's going to happen soon.
We will make sure to send them away. I won't let them hurt you, Woo. Seonghwa glanced down at him.
Wooyoung nodded and looked at where Jongho and San were leaning over a stall.
It was odd to see the two of them interact sometimes. He could tell that they wanted to be close to each other, but there were times that their wolves would come forward and show signs of being uncomfortable and the other alpha would back away.
Jongho was the one who seemed to react like that a little more, but there were a few times he had taken San by surprise and the older alpha had snapped at the younger.
They made their way around the market, doing their best to stick together as people shoved them aside to get to certain stands first..
Wooyoung had never felt so uncomfortable and out of place before, even in the ballroom full of alphas... It was loud, noisy, and overwhelming.
At one point, he went against what was probably better judgement and grabbed Seonghwa's hand to stay close to him as a large group of people started pushing their way through the crowd.
They did end up getting separated from the alphas, although Wooyoung could always smell them so they were never far away.
As the day drew to a close, Seonghwa pulled him from the town and up to the spot they had agreed to meet at.
While waiting for the two alphas, they reorganized their pack.
Seonghwa had managed to get some new blankets, more food, and some extra canteens for water. It wasn't much, but it would help.
When he was done, Wooyoung chewed on his lower lip for a moment before he glanced at the older.
Seonghwa smiled at him and placed a hand on the back of his head. He pulled gently, bringing their lips together in a slow, loving kiss.
Wooyoung let out a soft moan as he placed a hand on Seonghwa's chest. He could feel his wolf trying to fight him, saying that this was unnatural and there were two alphas for him to chose from close by.
But he pushed that side of him away and moved so he was straddling the older. They both need to learn to tame their wolves.
Seonghwa slipped his hands under Wooyoung's shirt and traced his spine. "I can't wait to mark you. I don't care what my wolf says." He whispered as he kissed along Wooyoung's neck.
The younger felt his stomach flip and he let out a small whimper. He wanted that too, so badly.
Some branches snapped and Seonghwa turned his head to watch the alphas approach.
Wooyoung just leaned forward and rested his head on the older's shoulder, nuzzling into his neck. He closed his eyes when his wolf begged for him to stop. The internal struggle made him feel like he was going to be sick.
But he wouldn't give up.
After they went over the supplies the had obtained, the four of them shifted and continued their roaming journey, trying to find someplace safe.
