Seonghwa paced endlessly in his room. He hadn't slept for almost two days now and even though there was a fresh plate of food on the table at the end of his bed, it remained untouched.
He had been serious about killing himself if his parents didn't change things, and this was his way of starting. The only thing he allowed himself was some water to keep himself hydrated. As long as he could feel the link with Wooyoung, he would do the bare minimum.
His father had locked him in his old bedroom. It was weird for him to be in here as it was so much nice than the attic room back at Mingi's house.
But this was not home.
He didn't want to be here.
And his mother wasn't helping.
She kept coming in begging him to change his mind and telling him just how much she missed him. "It's been so lonely here without you. Your father has spend all his time on the road trying to find you after that runt kidnapped you."
"Don't talk about my mate that way." Seonghwa snapped at her.
It earned him a deadly glare and a flash of brilliant blue eyes. "You need to stop telling yourself that lie. It's obvious that he's poisoned you or bewitched you so you would say that. I just don't understand what he was hoping to get out of this. If he wanted money then he's in for a big surprise now."
"If you're going to sit there and insult Wooyoung, then get out." Seonghwa could feel his rage rising every moment he spent in her presence.
The worst thing was the fact that there were still omega servants coming to bring him food and try to dress him for the day. His parents were trying to act like nothing had happened.
"Now, Seonghwa. That is no way to speak to your mother. You should be ashamed of yourself." She spat. "I don't care what you say, I know what is best for you. I have a doctor coming in to examine you and find out what that little runt did to you." She spun around and locked the door to his room behind her.
Seonghwa had spend several minutes throwing all of his pillows at the door and yelling at the top of his lungs after that.
He would have thrown something breakable, but he didn't want to burden the servants with any extra work because of his outbursts.
True to her word, the doctor showed up later that evening. Her mother knew how to trap him because it was a kind, older omega who carried everything around in a large bag.
Seonghwa couldn't find it in himself to be mean to the man, even with both his parents standing in the corner of the room.
"Hello, Sir. My name is Ozzie and I'm going to just run a few tests on you today, ok?" With a nod, the omega started listening to his heart and taking a few vitals.
Blue Star was and advanced enough pack that they could afford some of the devices that the humans had invented, and they we3re able to make a few improvements of their own to them. So the thing they used to listen to his heart also tested the health of his wolf.
How it did that, Seonghwa had no idea, but it was how they determined he would probably be an omega before he had even presented as one.
"Are you feeling sick at all? Do you have moments were you can't seem to remember where you were or what you did? Or any other kind of memory loss?"
"No, no, and no. I promise, no matter what they say, I am not bewitched or being controlled in any way." Seonghwa said, trying to stay calm.
"I'll be the judge of that." Ozzie gave him a kind smile then placed his hands on either side of Seonghwa's temple. "Just relax for me."
Seonghwa rolled his eyes, but did so. He focused on his link with Wooyoung and tried to send him positive vibes. Even if the younger had turned off his link...
He didn't care what happened after this, but he was going to give Wooyoung a piece of his mind when they got out of here. The whole noble 'I'm going to save you and protect you' crap what not what he wanted to deal with right now.
It scared him at the same time though, because he could feel that Wooyoung was hurting. He didn't know how... but he was not safe and healthy right now, and that upset his wolf so much.
After a few minutes, Ozzie pulled his hands away and tilted his head. "I don't sense anything off." He turned to look at Seonghwa's parents.
"Make it happen." Seonghwa's father looked at him then made his eyes flash red.
Seonghwa sighed and shook his head, then called forth his wolf so that his eyes changed color as well.
Ozzie stumbled back when he saw it and placed a hand over his heart. "What on earth?" He gasped. "I see what you mean."
Seonghwa turned his head away and pursed his lips. He knew exactly what they were worried about. He had spent hours staring at himself in the mirror trying to figure out what was happening with him.
The bright golden eyes an omega is gifted with were no longer there. Instead they were a deep shade of amber, swirling and full of energy.
He had no idea how long they had been like that, but he had a feeling it was because of his relationship with Wooyoung. Nothing like this had ever been recorded in history as being successful, and any pair that had made it happen had never be caught. If he were to guess, it was because he was stepping outside of the 'normal' duties of an omega by being the more dominant half.
Other than his eyes, he didn't feel any different. He could sense that his heat would normally come in about a week, which he was nervous about because he didn't have his suppressants here and when he asked his mother for some she laughed in his face and told him that he didn't need suppressants and she would have his fated alpha help him through it.
That angered him too. They already had an alpha in mind for him to mate with. There was no way he was going to ever bow down to an alpha.
He knew that mindset had to be effecting his eyes too, and he'd be willing to bet that something similar was happening with San too.
Ozzie took a few more steps back and shook his head. "I've never heard of anything like this happening before. I will do some research and see what I can find... but I don't want to make any promises. Health wise he is perfectly fine."
The Head Alpha grunted and shook his head. "Fine. You are dismissed." Ozzie bowed his head a few times and hurried from the room. "As for you, your mother informed me that your heat is due to start soon. I am making preparations so we can erase this mistake from our family's history. That... thing... will be executed in three days. Once that is done, then you will mate with our chosen alpha and everything will be the way it should have been all along."
"I won't do it." Seonghwa stood up clenched his fists. He wasn't going to give in.
"Yes. You will." His father's tone grew dark and he towered over his son. Seonghwa could feel his knees shaking and his wolf urged him to submit.
But he was a master of taming his wolf.
"I told you, if you kill him, I will kill myself. I will never mate with a disgraceful alpha like yourself."
"HOW DARE YOU!" His father roared right as he slapped Seonghwa hard enough that he flew to the side and rolled over on the floor. "HOW DARE YOU SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY!"
Now Seonghwa couldn't help but submit. He cupped his bruising cheek and tilted his head to the side to show his neck, fulling submitting to his father.
"If that is the way you want to be, then I will make sure you are watched all hours of the day, and I will have you tied down during the mating ceremony. You WILL mate with an alpha and give this family a pup. And then I will take that pup away from you and make sure you NEVER GET TO SEE IT, TOUCH IT, TALK TO IT, OR RAISE IT BECAUSE YOU ARE THE DISGRACE. YOU HAVE TURNED AGAINST YOUR OWN KIND. YOU ARE NO SON OF MINE."
Seonghwa whimpered under the power of his fathers voice. He also felt like something shattered inside him. Like the bond with his family was officially destroyed. He had been disowned by his father. Now all he was good for was continuing the bloodline.
He glanced at his mother, who gave him one sad look and turned away.
She agreed with his father's statement.
And Wooyoung had officially be sentenced to death...
Seonghwa tried once more to reach out to his mate but was met with a wall. Youngie, I need you... Please...
Hwa? Wooyoung's weak voice finally entered into his mind and Seonghwa was thankful that his parents had just walked out because he started to openly sob.
W-W-Woo... You have no idea how good it is to hear your voice.
You too. His mate said. Even through the link, his voice sounded raspy.
Are you ok? Have they hurt you? How's the baby?? Seonghwa curled into himself and closed his eyes, wanting to soak in every word his love said.
It took Wooyoung a moment to answer, but he finally said, I'm ok, but I'm so cold... They told me I have three days... Hwa... I'm scared.
I know baby. I'm going to figure this out. I promise.
I love you. So much...
Seonghwa covered his face with his hands. He knew Wooyoung had to feel his despair through the link, but he didn't know if he could fight to hide in anymore with how he was feeling right now. I love you too. Wooyoung, no matter what happens, just know that I love you. You will always be my true mate. I regret nothing.
And you're mine. Until I stop breathing. Wooyoung paused and Seonghwa knew it was because he was thinking about his execution in three days. Thank you for convincing me to leave with you. Even though I doubted it at the beginning, it was the best decision I could have ever made.
Seonghwa's sobs grew louder for a moment, but he reigned it in to say one last thing for now. Please don't cut me off again. I need to feel you. I need you, always.
Pain ran back and forth through their link, but Wooyoung left it open. Seonghwa stayed on the floor and let himself get lost in the feeling of his mate, wanting to soak in as much of it as he could before their time ran out.
