"रूह से बहती हुई धून ये इशारे दे
कुछ मेरे राज़ तेरे राज़ आवारा से
खो गये हम कहाँ
रंगों सा ये जहाँ"
The living room was dimly lit, the only light coming from the television screen where a dramatic movie scene was playing out. Myra and Abhishek were snuggled up on the couch, a blanket covering their legs. It was their usual movie night, a tradition they had kept up even after getting married.
Their six-year-old daughter, Avtuktha, affectionately called Avi, was supposed to be in bed, but she had sneaked into the living room and was now curled up at the other end of the couch, her eyes glued to the screen.
The movie reached its emotional climax, and as the character on screen took their final breath, Myra's eyes welled up with tears. She tried to keep quiet, but a small sob escaped her lips.
Abhishek looked over and chuckled softly. "Seriously, Jaan? It's just a movie."
Myra wiped her tears and glared at him. "It's not just a movie! She was so nice, and now she's gone!"
Abhishek rolled his eyes playfully and pulled her closer. "You get way too emotional over these things."
"Because I have a heart!" Myra retorted, sniffing.
Avi, who had been watching the exchange with wide eyes, piped up, "Mumma, why are you crying?"
Myra reached out and pulled Avi into her lap. "Because the nice lady in the movie is gone, sweetie."
Avi looked at the screen, then back at her mother. "It's okay, Mama. It's just a movie."
Abhishek grinned. "See? Even Avi knows it's just a movie."
Myra huffed. "Well, excuse me for having feelings."
Abhishek leaned in, planting a kiss on her cheek. "I love that you have feelings. Even if you cry over movie characters."
Myra's pout transformed into a smile. "You better."
Avi, sensing the playful banter, giggled. "Papa, you're so silly."
Abhishek ruffled Avi's hair. "I get it from you, kiddo."
They all settled back into their cozy positions, but Myra was still sniffling a little. Abhishek whispered in her ear, "You know, if you need a distraction, I can think of a few ways to cheer you up."
Myra blushed and nudged him. "Behave, mister. Avi's right here."
Abhishek chuckled. "Fine, I'll save my ideas for later, Mrs. Sharma."
Avi, sensing the shift in the mood, yawned. "Can I sleep here with you, Mumma?"
Myra nodded, tucking the blanket around Avi. "Of course, sweetheart."
As the movie ended, Myra and Abhishek exchanged a look, filled with love and shared memories.
Abhishek kissed her forehead. "I love seeing you happy, even when you're crying."
Myra snuggled closer to him.
He wrapped his arms around her and Avi, holding his family close. "I love you, darling. And you, Avi."
Avi, already half asleep, mumbled, "Love you, Papa."
The room fell into a comfortable silence, the remnants of the movie playing softly in the background. It was moments like these that Myra cherished the most-simple, chaotic, and filled with love.
As they drifted off to sleep, Myra couldn't help but feel grateful for the life they had built together. Through the ups and downs, the laughter and the tears, they had always found their way back to each other.
And as she closed her eyes, snuggled up with her family, she knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together-one movie night at a time.
