LIAM'S POV

Getting off my motorcycle, Mark and I headed to the pack house. The moment we stepped inside the building, the Alphas stormed towards us. It was almost like they were waiting for us.

"Where the hell have you guys been?" Alpha Miguel boomed. "And how could you leave without backup, do you know how worried we were".

Bowing slightly I apologized, "sorry Alphas, Mark and I needed to follow the trail to see where it led to".

"Well we're not bothered about that, we are more worried about the damages those intruders caused" Alpha Stevens growled.

"Damages. What damages?" Mark enquired.

Alpha Stevens sighed "Why don't we head to the office, Maxwell and Michael are already waiting".

We walked swiftly to the office, where Maxwell, Micheal, Rex and Damien waited.

Seeing us Rex stood up, running a hand through his hair looking relieved, "Damn it Mark, next time give someone a heads-up okay? I was worried about you".

Mark nodded "Yeah sure, sorry about that, although I'm still not sure what's going on".

Damian sighed "the Intruders left a huge mark on us. We had some casualties and some people are missing".

I ran a hand through my hair, "how many casualties, how many were taken and do we know this missing people?".

All eyes looked in my direction so I raised my brows at them scoffing "hold on, did you guys think Mark and I were taken?".

Alpha Miguel slumped on a seat "No. Actually it was Aurora's friends that were taken, together with my daughter".

I opened my mouth, then shut it. "Shit, how many of her friends and how the hell did this happen. Where were the guards?".

"The four of them were taken, Kassandra made the figure five. We only found their clothes at different locations with some blood on the floor". Rex answered

"Concerning the guards, well not all are breathing" Damian scowled. "It's a good thing the others were not taken too" enforcer Micheal added.

Mark sat close to Rex "What do you mean the others weren't taken. Who are the others?".

"Theo, Luke and Sarah. We found them beaten and badly bruised. Guess they couldn't take all they decided to drop some behind" Rex growled.

"I think I understand the reason why Kassandra and Kate was taken, considering they informed us about being attacked. But the others, I'm not sure why". Damian wondered.

Walking to the door I punched through the wall, "Damm it." I turned back, "the cameras, was any footage found?".

They shook their heads. I turned to Maxwell.a

"Maxwell, anyway we can get the footage back?, or maybe talk to the guards who were hur?t".

Rubbing his forehead Maxwell shook his head "None of the guards who was hurt survived. It was all a clean kill. But concerning Aurora's friends and Kassandra, we got their scent and saw some blood but that's all".

"As usual we didn't get any other scent that might be that of the attackers" Rex added.

"And we can't tell if they're alive or dead. Fuck, those bastards has my daughter, my only daughter" alpha Miguel growled.

We all kept silent, each in our thoughts.

Mark spoke first "Aside from Luke Theo and Sarah, was any other pack member hurt?"

Rex shrugged "thankfully no. Just the three of them, at least their conditions are improving".

I nodded, "good thing. I also have good news though. It might not be much but that was all Mark and I could find".

Enforcer Micheal gestured for me to seat "Well spill it all out then, don't keep us waiting".

Turing to Mark I shrugged "go on Mark, tell them".

Mark breathes heavily, looking at me before turning to the others, "we believe we have a mole in our midst, and whoever it is, is still in this pack and still gives information out".

Maxwell sat forward "What do you mean we have a mole, we already established that".

"Yeah but this is different. We think this person actually does this on purpose"

"And why would you say that?" Alpha Stevens asked.

"Because this person didn't just fall for our trap, telling the Intruders about the ID ceremony. He or she leaked info about the guards and more precisely he knew those who were taken and probably planned for them to be taken. Maybe Aurora's friends weren't part of the deal".

"Why do you say so?" Damian asked.

"I think the original target was Kassandra, Sarah, Theo and Luke. They're close and related to the alpha and young alpha".

"And taking them means creating a huge distracting to us" alpha Stevens point out.

Mark nodded "Exactly.  And when you're distracted they could attack again".

"Which means they took Aurora's friends because one of them saw the attackers, and they could easily tell it to their other friends". Enforcer Micheal observed.

Xavier chuckled them moment he felt their fear and apprehension.

Such weaklings. He grunted.

I ain't arguing on that.

"How did you figure this out?" Damien asked uneasily.

Squinting at him I tilted my head at his emotions but shrugged, "considering the fact that the paw prints seems too scattered to be a sneaky movement and also they seemed a bit old to be made that evening".

Mark added "When we followed the paw prints we just ended up at a forest edge very close to a waterfall. It makes me wonder if they actually climbed high up, and if they carried the hostages down too".

"But that's not possible at all. Although I suspected that the paw prints were not fresh" enforcer Micheal pointed out.

"Exactly" I nodded "that means that it was all a plan to lure, distract and fool us. Our mole must have planned all this out to make it seem like the Intruders came from outside".

"But they have been inside all this while" Maxwell growled.

"Shit, the guards who were killed, were they assassins or normal werewolves?" Mark asked.

Everyone's eyes widened.

"I'm guessing they were all normal. Because an assassin would be able to dictate their movement. We've got a serious problem in our hands".

"And this looks like it's probably a guard or someone who knows about our plans" Rex pointed out.

I nodded at him, "this is especially those who were assigned to the Eastern border the whole of yesterday"

"But first I have to speak to those who were hurt maybe we can get something from them. And where is young alpha Nathan?".

Alpha Miguel stood "Yeah, we could go see them now and Nathan is with them, we told him to stand guard just incase".

I stood by the window watching as the pack moved about their daily activities. To an outsider it was a normal sight with laughter falling out of people's lips but I could tell they were tensed.

Children and pups were very close to their parents, teenagers were seen in groups. The males more protective and possessive around their mates.

The air was thick with weariness and apprehension with a great dose of fear.

Turning my attention back to the three injured idiots I cleared my throat gaining their attention.

"I'm gonna ask you series of questions and you'll give me straight answers, are we clear?".

They nodded. Taking a little time I looked at them closely, fighting off a smirk that was close to escaping.

They sure were beaten real bad.

Yep. Too bad they're still breathing. Xavier snorted.

Well I hope they enjoy their little time left.

Nah, I hope it's miserable. Now let's go mess up their dumb brains. He chuckled darkly.

"First question. Did the three of you leave the hall together?".

They nodded. Sarah sat forward, "we left together so we could all wait for Jenny and Ophelia".

"Then how did the three of you get separated?. And couldn't you have linked with each other."

"I was roughly pulled to the side, and before I could call out the person knocked me out" Luke mumbled.

Theo sat up with a grunt "Same here, whoever it was kinda predicted the move. He was really fast".

"I'm pretty sure it was a girl that knocked me out" Sarah growled.

I raised my brows at her, "how are you so sure about that?".

She shrugged, "the hand was soft and feminine but that's all I can say. It was too crowded for me to know who it was. But I kinda saw her figure when she was hitting me".

Theo coughed and Mark walked to him, patting his shoulders, "did any of you get any scent, familiar or not".

Luke shook his head "like Sarah said, it was way too crowded. When someone pulled me I thought it was a pack member trying to hold on. But I didn't get any peculiar scent".

I frowned "So you were knocked out and unconscious till now?. You didn't even know when you were beaten this bad?"

Theo scratched his head, "well not totally. I mean, I knew when I was being beaten up".

"And you didn't think to defend yourself or link with someone" Maxwell growled.

"I wasn't fully conscious and my wolf is not fully healed from my spare with that stupid bitch"

I snorted "You call Aurora a stupid bitch and yet she had both you and your wolf's ass beaten". I turned to the others "Luke, Sarah, what about you guys?".

Sarah shuffled, "well, I couldn't defend myself, the girl who attacked me was really strong. Too strong if I may add".

Rex scoffed, "you guys are just pussies".

"Says the guy who still isn't standing straight after he got his ass beaten by a girl" Theo growled.

"Well that happened when I was trying to defend you" Rex shot back.

Theo snorted, "yeah right. You only did it cause you thought she would be weak but yet she gave it to you really good".

Rex growled "You better shut your fucking mouth now"

Xavier laughed. Now this is interesting. I want them to fight it out.

"That's enough". Alpha Stevens boomed. "The both of you should be ashamed of yourself".

"We have an intruder on the lose and your dumbass bickering isn't of any help to us" Alpha Miguel grunted.

Xavier exhaled. Bummer. I was really hoping for a fist fight.

They apologized solemnly still giving each other glares.

I moved from the window, "the three of you would have people watching over you at all times. We have reason to believe that your attack was planned but you being left behind wasn't".

"Are you trying to say that, we would have been taken?" Luke asked.

Mark nodded, "Aurora's friends together with Kassandra were taken. We found their clothes and some blood but their scent ended at edge of the pack territory".

Sarah placed a hand over her mouth, tears gathering her eyes, "oh no, this isn't good. I'm sure they took them because Kassandra and Kate saw somoeone and they came to the great hall to warn us".

Alpha Miguel sighed "exactly and that is why we need you guys to recall everything anything that would be helpful. My daughter's life is at stake".

A doctor walked in, "Alphas, Enforcers. Please would you mind stepping outside, I need to run some checks on them. You can speak to them later on".

The moment we stepped out of the room, Alpha Miguel turned to me, "do you think you can get anything useful from them?".

"I hope I can, let's give them some time to recover. I'm sure they would be able to give us more key information".

Alpha Miguel nodded and walked out.

Alpha Stevens sighed softly "I'm not happy to say this but the intruder's plan is working. I hope we find his daughter".
