LIAM'S POV

I strolled to the Alphas office, a skip in my step. But when I entered the office my good mood dwindled.

After the talk between Aurora and I, she walked me to the river side where I swam back to the pack territory.

Luckily for Maxwell he wasn't in my room neither could I get his scent around my room. And for the first time in weeks I slept peacefully.

Well seeing your mate and being open to her could do that to someone. Xavier piqued.

I smiled. I guess you can say so, am so happy there's no secret between us and that she accepted us. Now I won't have to hide my hatred for her so called parents.

Does this mean that we can hurt them? He asked excited.

I chuckled. Yeah but with time buddy, with time.

Knocking on the door, it swung open with Rex behind the door a scowl on his face.

I rolled my eyes, walking past him. He grunted "why are you late again today?". Ignoring him I greeted the Alphas trying to be as nice as possible.

After what Aurora told me, I had to restrain myself from killing someone after I entered the pack house. Especially her so called parents and siblings.

I just can't wait to tear Michael's head of his body. Xavier growled.

I smiled at his thoughts. It won't be long.

Sitting down I scanned the faced of the people present. They acted like they had the interest of the pack in mind, whereas it was all a lie.

And I can't wait to expose them to the whole pack.

"I heard that you and Maxwell had a fight last night. What was it about?" Alpha Stevens spoke first.

If we fought with Maxwell he did be dead by now. Xavier snorted.

I shrugged "it wasn't a fight, just a little misunderstanding".

"But that's not what the guards saw, they said you held Maxwell in a tight grip and you seemed really pissed".

"Yes I was pissed and yes I held him, but we didn't exchange blows so I won't call it a fight"

He looked back and forth between us before deciding to let it rest.

"So Miguel and I thought through all your ideas and we've decided to have the ID ceremony on Friday which is three days from now".

Everyone was quiet and I couldn't help but smirk. They were all predictable.

Sitting up I frowned "isn't it risky, you do know that all pack members will be present, what if the enemy shows up and causes havoc".

"Many people would be hurt" Nathan added.

Alpha Miguel tapped his hand on the table, "yes we know the risk that is why we're taking it. Since all members will be present if the intruder shows up we can spot him".

"Anyone who isn't part of either packs will be held back" enforcer Michael added.

I kept quiet for a while, deep in thought "well when you put it like that, I think that's a good idea, what we just need to do is spread the news".

Everyone concurred.

After discussing the arrangements for the ceremony the meeting was dismissed everyone leaving except the Alphas and enforcer Michael.

I was just outside the pack house when Maxwell called me to wait up for him, I gritted my teeth in anger.

After what Aurora said about Maxwell planning with Rex to mate her forcefully I was really mad at him. It wasn't enough that he's being a jerk and a sick pedophile, he also wants Rex to rape my mate, the thought alone is enough to make me want to kill him instantly but I know I have to bid my time and act clueless.

"Where did you swim off to last night?" He asked when he drew near.

"Far enough to not hear your stupid heart beat or smell your stench" I answered without turning to him.

Pulling my shoulders he held me "am not joking Liam, I couldn't find you, I even got into the water to search for you".

I scoffed "yeah right. You didn't do that, you left when I didn't answer your calls".

He shrugged and left my shoulders, "fine I didn't search you but I was worried".

Rolling my eyes I walked out on him and headed towards my room but just as I rounded the conner I saw Rex and his minions.

What does the idiot want now?. Xavier growled.

"Leave us" he ordered his friends and I watched them leaving one after the other with one winking at me.

"Well now we're alone, I've got something to say to you". Rex said.

I stood straight, legs spread wide and arms folded in an intimidating stand, I released a bit of my anger, so he could feel and know that I wasn't up for play.

He gulped nervously before standing straight. Well as straight as his still healing spine will let him.

I think he looks like a hunched fool. Xavier chuckled.

I smirk, "now what do you want to talk about?".

"I want you out of my way".

I raised my brows "well you're the one standing in my way".

"I mean it Liam, I don't know who or what you think you are but your being a hindrance to my plans".

Chuckling I ran a hand through my hair "now that's new, what plan am I disrupting?"

He growled "do you think am kidding, first you had Aurora hurt Theo and I, all so you can train her yourself and now you keep claiming that she's your mate. Seriously don't you see you're being pathetic".

I laughed. I didn't mean to laugh but I actually did.

Walking up to him I rearranged his collar, "Rex, Aurora didn't just hurt you and Theo, she gave you guys the beating of your lives and also disgraced you two. And why do you keep denying it, you know she's mine, you're being the pathetic one by clinging to someone who's is not and will never be yours".

Ruffling his hair, I smiled at him, "take your father's advice to me Rex, let it go, she's never going to be yours".

I moved past him but stopped "remember my promise, if anyone tries any shit towards me, am gonna end his life. And this should be the last time we talk about this, the next time will get you a week in the hospital"

Walking round him I went to my room.

I hope he doesn't listen, so I can have an excuse to beat him up. Xavier snickered.

I stood under the tree tapping my foot to the rhythm of the music. Am currently waiting for my informant but he's being late.

"Sorry for the wait" he mumbled when he got close.

I took out my earphones, "his majesty kept you waiting?".

He frowned, "no, actually it's the person who wants Aurora to be watched".

I turned to him "did you find out who he is?".

He frowned "yeah I did, the person told me who the big bad boss is" and from his face I could tell it wasn't who I expected.

"And let me guess it isn't Rex or Maxwell". He nodded, "he also has her friends being watched but not by me. He thinks they might know if she has someone".

"And who's watching them?"

"Some people in school and from what I've seen, Rex has been trying to get close to his cousin Neil but it's no use".

"Why do you say so?"

He scoffed "Rex was against Neil and Dave getting together and now he wants to be friends so he can split Aurora and whoever is her mate. Of course it's gonna piss him off".

I breathed heavily a bad feeling settling in my chest, "who ordered for her and her friends to be watched?".

He scanned my face before talking "It's both Alphas and enforcer Michael"

It was quiet both of us saying nothing "how did you find out?".

He shrugged nonchalantly "being a beta has it's perks". I raised my brows in question and he chuckled, "I may have threatened him with my position as a beta and he spilled the beans".

I smiled "well I guess being someone of high rank is nice".

He scoffed "how can you just know that, you're an alpha".

I shrugged "not by choice but am going to make good use of it".

He chuckled softly, "well that's good to know, remind me never to get on your bad side".

"That I'll do".

He nodded "am gonna leave now, I promised Theo a game of chess".

I nodded in return. When he turned to leave I called out, "thanks Mark".

He grinned at me "just know, you owe me one".

Pacing back and forth by the creek, I tried to calm my rage. Closing my eyes I took a deep breath.

I want them dead, I want them all dead. Xavier growled.

You have to calm down.

It's impossible to do so when they have bad intentions towards our mate. He gritted.

I know that, but we have to think and act with a clear head. We can't risk them knowing anything.

He kept quiet but was still pacing.

After a while he stopped. When are they coming?.

Don't know, I didn't have the patience to ask them how long it would take them to get here. But I think it will take some time since they're sneaking out.

Xavier went back to pacing so I reminded him that our mate is safe, mile's away from here. The thoughts seemed to calm him down and he stopped pacing.

After a while I smelt them coming, "am over here" I called out them.

Dave was the first to walk up to me before Kate, Mary and Neil.

I took a moment to decipher their emotions. They were confused and scared but mostly worried.

Taking another breath I broke the ice, "do you know that you guys are being trailed?".

They looked at each other silently communicating before Kate answered, "yeah we noticed but we act oblivious so we can throw them off but they're persistent".

"And it's not just that, Rex has been too kind and friendly towards us" Mary mumbled obviously annoyed by the thought. Kate rubbed a hand down her mate's back.

I grunted "glad am not the only one who finds him annoying"

"So why did you call us here?" Dave asked.

"Aurora and I need your help". No sooner had I said it Mary squealed. Loudly I might add.

Neil shushed her immediately and I listened closely but when I heard no indication of anyone coming towards us I released a breath.

"You do know this is like a secret meeting right?" Dave snickered.

"Why do you seem so happy?" I inquired. Kate smiled "we kinda knew that this meeting is about Aurora's whereabouts".

"And how did you conclude that?" I asked curious.

Dave snorted, "she's our best friend and you are her mate, why would you want us to sneak out like ninjas and meet up if it isn't about her?.

They have a point there. Xavier commented.

"Yes it's about Aurora and what am gonna tell you guys will be shocking but I need you to promise to listen to her whenever you see her".

Neil tilted his head "what do you mean?".

I ran a hand down my face "after what am going to tell you, I need you to listen to her side first before you take any action".

Dave shrugged "well we know for sure that she's out for revenge and from the snippets of things I've heard, I think Rex deserves whatever she has in stock for him".

Is it me or are they're smart?. Xavier wondered.

They are actually smart. I agreed.

"You're right, she hates Rex's gut but that's not all". They looked at each other in confusion.

"Wait there's more?" Mary asked.

"Yes but she will have to tell you so herself".

Neil shrugged "we're cool with that, so what do you need our help with?".

I smirked, "how good are you guys at hide and seek?"
