AURORA'S POV

If you keep pacing you might actually wear a hole on the floor and am not sure the manager of this hotel is gonna appreciate the new design. Cora grumbled.

I rolled my eyes at her but sat on the bed. After a while I strode to the window and looked out. The sun was beginning to set and I was yet to come up with an explanation or maybe a plan.

Going back to the room I continued pacing.

I don't understand why you're so worried. Cora mumbled.

He saw us Cora. He saw us and he probably told someone already or maybe even planning an attack.

She rolled her eyes at me. He won't do such a thing. Besides what happened is one way of reducing our problem.

And how is that reducing our problem?.

Well we can always ask him for help.

I scoffed. Easy for you to say.

We were both silent before she spoke again.

You should not fight this and let it unfold as it goes. If you keep pushing this it might end up badly.

I stopped pacing. What do you mean?

Cora sighed. Yes he saw us and his reaction was totally unexpected. Don't you think it's because he probably suspected already. Or Maybe he found something linking it to us.

I shrugged not sure what to say.

Aurora for someone with a high IQ you're pretty dumb sometimes.

I glared but realized she wasn't watching me. Damn it girl just say it already.

Contact him and ask him to meet up with us. And when he does tell him everything.

But what if he tells the others and it becomes a trap.

She rolled her eyes. I trust him and his wolf Aurora, he wouldn't do such a thing.

I went to the window again looking out. My thoughts crashing about like waves.

But even in the midst of all the confusion I was sure that I needed to see him and explain everything.

I suddenly felt him reaching me through the link.

Oh shit Cora what do I do.

Answer him.

But what if...

Just shut it and open the damn link. Cora growled.

Taking a deep breath, I opened his link.

I wondered if you would talk to me or forever block me.

I shrugged but remembered he wasn't here. Well I wasn't too keen on answering either but I guess I had no choice.

He chuckled softly but suddenly stopped. You owe me a huge explanation Aurora and I need answers today.

Listen I understand if you don't wanna be with....

I suggested you don't complete that statement, we have a lot to talk about. I'll be waiting for you by the creek. How long would it take you to get there?.

An hour max.

Good. Chose a time of your choice and convenience but notify an hour before you get there. I need to be there before you to ensure it safe.

Okay but if this is a trap I won't hesitate to hurt you.

He chuckled. You will hesitate baby girl but just so you know it isn't a trap. I understand why you're skeptical honestly even I am too. Guess we'll both take the leap of faith.

I kept quiet not sure what to say before I remember. Wait up, how did you find out about me?.

I'll say when we see. Don't forget to notify me an hour before you get there.

He cut off the link before I could say more.

Huffing I flopped on the bed, and thought back to anything suspicious that could have led back to me.

Aurora is your room locked?. Cora suddenly asked

Yeah why do you ask?

No not your room, I meant your laptop, is it secure?.

I froze. Oh shit. It isn't but no one would go into my room right. Besides no one would know where I hid my files, I made sure it was in a secure folder.

Cora sighed. Well that's assuring.

Looking at my phone I frowned, it was 7pm. I know he said I could pick the time but he could probably be busy. Setting an alarm for 10pm I shut my eyes to sleep.

When would you meet him. Cora asked.

Midnight.

She chuckled softly. Good luck Cinderella.

LIAM'S POV

I sat back watching the crowd of assassins and guards. Everyone was puzzled, well even I am surprised at how it happened.

The atmosphere was tensed, fear and apprehension filled the air, everyone deep in thoughts.

No one knew what to do or how to approach the situation.

How in the world did an enemy enter the territory undetected and succeeded in killing a guard also?.

Getting a link from Maxwell I headed to the Alphas office. Walking by the hallway I was surprised to see Aurora's friends standing around.

"Liam. Thank God we saw you, am seconds away from  creating a huge scene" Kate exclaimed the moment she saw me.

I chuckled a bit acknowledging her attempt to lighten the mood. "It's good to see you guys".

Mary smiled a little but her face turned serious immediately, "please tell me you've got something. I nearly lost it when I saw a dead body and also smelt her".

I shrugged, "nothing yet so far but am sure she's good. Luckily she wasn't the dead person, all that was brought was the clothes she wore when she was kidnapped and there isn't any trace or smell of blood on it, so like I said its a good sign that she's okay".

They sighed heavily, their posture a little more relaxed. Neil nodded at me "thanks Liam".

I shrugged again, "she's my mate too and the least I can do is give you guys more updates".

Dave smiled a little too wide, "well I hope she gets back soon, you two need to mate and get on with it".

Xavier howled in laughter, while I just gaped at my mate's friends as the walked past.

I couldn't agree more. Xavier snickered.

Shaking my head I headed to the Alphas office for the briefing. I was already dreading being in the same room with Rex and Maxwell.

I was barely two feet into the office when Rex snared at me, "you're always late for a meeting, makes me wonder what you are up to behind our backs".

Not this shit face again. Xavier groaned.

Ignoring Rex I sat down but Maxwell seemed to share his thoughts also cause he asked "what exactly were you doing, you kept us waiting for ten minutes".

I rolled my eyes but turned to him, "Aurora's friends saw some things and wanted an assurance that it wasn't her dead body that was carried away".

Turning to Rex I smirked, "not that am concerned but are you sure you're good to attend long meetings, your wounds aren't fully healed are they?".

His mocking grin flattered and he glared at me but I only raised my brows in return.

"Well that's enough bickering between you two, the Alphas will be here soon" enforcer Michael intervened.

Few moments later both Alphas walked in looker way older they they're are.

Guess some serious-intruder-issue could do that to someone. Xavier snorted.

I snorted in silent laughter.

After they both sat down, Alpha Stevens motioned for Maxwell to give a run down of the Maxwell incident.

Maxwell sat forward a scowl on his face, "two hours ago one of the guards got Aurora's scent, thinking she was close by he went to the site but only found clothes, immediately he sent an alert to the link. While some assassins were checking the perimeter they caught the smell of blood, on closer inspection they found a guard dead, his neck snapped, and heart dug out".

Mark and Nathan cringed while enforcer Michael cleared his throat, "from the hole in his chest, it affirms that it was a guy, a really strong one at that"

Alpha Stevens ran a hand through his hair "we have to call for help". Mark raised my brows "who do you have in mind?" Alpha Stevens shrugged "anyone who can help us get this intruder. This nonsense has stop".

Alpha Miguel nodded "I think that's the only option. We can get help from another pack maybe more guards.".

"The guard who was killed, did he send any notification to the pack link about anything suspicious?" Mark asked.

Maxwell shook his head "we didn't even know he was dead till we got his scent, luckily he's not mated or it would have been more painful. Whoever that attacked him was fast, really fast".

"As fast as who attacked me" Luke added. "And he didn't just kill a guard he also brought an evidence that he has Aurora, keeping it exactly where I was taken. I wonder what he's trying to achieve".

"More like what message he's trying to pass. It's obvious he's doing this for a reason" Damien added.

"Liam you aren't saying anything, why's that?" Enforcer Michael asked. I shrugged in response but Maxwell smirked at me "that's weird, have you forgotten that this intruder has your mate?".

Rex looked at Maxwell then at me, "wait what do you mean?". Alpha Stevens shrugged "Liam claims Aurora is his mate".

Rex let out a loud laugh "please ignore him Aurora is mine. Besides there's no way she'll ever chose him. She's going to come back to me, that am sure of".

Xavier rolled his eyes at them. They're just trying to get a reaction out of us. And I find it really funny.

Yeah, well it won't be funny when I lay my hands of them.

Turning to Rex I smiled "well we're just gonna wait till she comes back then she'll chose won't we?". His smirk froze and he glared at me again.

I felt someone reaching me through the mind link so I raised my face up to the ceiling so they wouldn't notice my eyes glazing over.

I'm gonna be there in an hour.

I smiled. And I'll be waiting.

Focusing back I trailed a hand on the table "I don't think the intruder planned on killing the guard, if he wanted to kill someone, he would have taken out more than a guard. And the clothes is a sign that he's way ahead of us, him sneaking in and out of the territory says that he's not afraid of us cause he's obviously smarter than us".

Maxwell scoffed "he's not smart, and he's certainly afraid. He's a coward".

I raised my brows at him, "he came into our territory, killed an assassin, strolled close to the training grounds dropped a cloth. And strolled out of the territory without a rush. Do you still think he's still a coward?".

I watched with satisfaction as Maxwell squirmed in his seat. Turning to the Alphas I asked, "have you ever wondered why this person is after us?".

Nathan shrugged "I thought about that too, why is he after us, does he have a vendetta against the pack, or probably against someone?".

"I think we should speed up our merging process, especially the ID process. This will help both packs bond well and we can easily identify any one who is suspicious through the chip" Maxwell suggested.

"Don't you think it will be risky, especially with an intruder running lose. The last time we held a gathering it ended in chaos" I countered.

"What do you mean?" Enforcer Michael asked.

I sat up straighter "am sixty percent sure we have a mole in our midst". Everyone turned to me, "and how are you sure of that" Rex scoffed.

"Didn't it occur to you that every time we have a huge gathering or event, the intruder always makes an appearance. He has an insider who is not aware of his actions".

Alpha Stevens nodded "a pack member could just tell his or her friend of something without knowing that he's leaking information to an intruder".

"That's actually possible" Nathan added "how about using this medium to lure the intruder out".

I smiled "that's my plan exactly, we hold an activity and announce to the pack members who will in turn tell their friends".

"And what will be the next step? Enforcer Michael inquired.

"We triple our guards and watch out for new faces, any suspicious person will be held immediately" Mark smriked.

Alpha Miguel clapped "now that's an interesting plan Liam. Well it's nearly midnight, we'll discuss the rest tomorrow at noon"

Well all stood but he pointed "Liam and Rex I need you to wait behind".

I let out a groan as I sat back, while everyone filed out leaving both Alphas, enforcers and shit face Rex.

"Now you know why I called you both back right?" Alpha Miguel asked.

I shrugged but Rex nodded "yes I do". "And why's that?" Alpha Stevens asked.

Rex sat straighter "because Liam here thinks Aurora is his mate".

Xavier rolled his eyes.

Enforcer Michael leaned back in his seat with his legs crossed "Aurora is my daughter, so am going to say this once to both of you. She belongs to Rex because he was chosen for her by the Moon goddess. So Liam I'll advice you stick to being her trainer and nothing more".

Xavier growled lowly. You're right, let's just kill them.

I chuckled a bit. The sound making them turn to me. "And what's so funny?" Maxwell asked.

I stood up "I won't argue with any of you. Aurora is old enough to decide who she wants to be with and who she feel the bond with. So why don't we just wait for her to get back before making that decision for her".

"Well she's going to chose me, so get used to it" Rex growled. I shrugged and headed to the door but stopped before I could open it.

"If anyone of you plans to hurt me or take me off the way so she can chose Rex" I turned to them with a cold smile "I won't hesitate to end his life ever so painful".

With one last glare at them I left the office. Hands in my pocket, a smile on my face I strolled to the training grounds surprised to find him waiting.

"Took you long enough, what was it about?".

I shrugged "just empty talks on how Aurora belongs to Rex and all".

He let out a laugh "yeah right. I don't think they fully understand what a mate bond is and how much she loathes Rex".

I smiled in return, my gaze scanning the perimeter.

"You seem okay and maybe happy. Wanna share why?".

I shrugged "nothing really, just feeling good, I have this feeling Aurora is okay, shaken up but okay".

I schooled my feature properly because I could feel him watching me. Turning to him I smiled "you should head back before Rex calls for you".

Immediately his eyes glazed, after a while he rolled his eyes, "well that was Rex, I'll keep you posted".

I nodded and watched him leave. The moment he was out of sight and scent I walked through the forest careful to avoid the cameras but I acknowledged the guards I saw with a nod or two and asked them some questions.

Getting to the creek I sat on the rock and checked my watch.

She'll be here soon. I answered Xavier's unasked question. Rolling my eyes when he howled joyfully.

And I wasn't disappointed, a minute later her head popped out of the water a small smile on her face.

Returning her grin with mine I streched my hands to pull her out of the water. Leaning downward, my hand tangled in her wet hair, I gave her a deep kiss.

"Well it's good to see you too mate?" She snickered.
