AURORA'S POV (Previous chapter)

I stared at the history teacher as he blabbed on about some ancient Greek history. I wasn't really sure why today felt off but it was getting to me.

And to top it off Cora has been quiet and restless all day. Thinking maybe one of my friends were in danger, I linked with them during class but they were all good.

Hy girl how about we pay Luke a visit. It's been long and we could go for a run. I said in hope it would ease her a bit.

She perked up. Hell yeah, wonder when you would ask.

Do you wanna talk about what's bothering you? I asked tentatively.

I just feel weird and all. But I'll be good when we get to see Luke.

I smiled. Then let's ditch school.

Hallelujah. Cora howled.

Chuckling I stood from my seat and walked to the teacher putting on a sad face. "Umm sir please do you mind if I excuse myself to the nurse's office?".

He only waved me off and went back to his babbling.

Getting to the nurse's office, I frown pouting my lips and groaning. The nurse looked up and walked to me.

"Oh dear what's wrong?".

"Good morning ma'am, please is it okay if I leave, I don't feel too good" I mumbled groaning a little louder.

"Do you want to head to the hospital I can call the doctor ahead"

I shook my head wildly then groaned and held my head "no please, I hate hospitals, they always bring bad memories. I'll just need some painkillers and rest".

"Okay dear" She hastily went to the cabinet and took out some drugs. I cautiously glanced round noting the camera was directly in my line of view so I kept up the sick act.

When she handed me the drugs and a sick note, I thanked her and slowly walked out. Strolling out I linked with my friend that I need some air and space for my assignments.

Getting outside the school I contemplated taking my car.

We have to stick to the sick act so no driving. Cora advised.

Huffing I continued my slow walk out of school grounds.

While walking I came across a guard and I immediately went back to my sick act.

"And why aren't you in school?" he inquired. I showed him my sick card "I got excused, I don't feel good I thought a walk by the creek would calm me" I answered softly masking my emotions.

The man smiled at me gently "I'll escort you there myself" nodding I smiled back "that would be nice of you" and we walked on.

We need to ditch this dude. Cora grumbled.

And I know just what to do.

Does it involve killing him. She asked excited.

I rolled my eyes. No, am sure he has linked someone about seeing us. I'll just get him to leave by distracting him.

I waited till we were almost at the creek before going to the open mind link. And sending a message.

Someone's been standing outside the border for a while. I plan on approaching them but I need help here at the Eastern border.

Some guards responded and the man walking me offered to go.

He turned to me "I'll leave you here, I have work to do". Smiling widely at him I nodded "thank you sir, am sure I can take it from here".

He nodded and walked off towards the Eastern border.

When he got out of sight I took out my phone and went to the cameras.

I groaned loudly. I was standing in clear view of a camera.

Checking through the routes, I walked on, maneuvering my way to the creek while avoiding the cameras, without being too obvious about it.

When I finally made it to the creek I sat down and went back to my phone, creating a glitch in the system. The moment the cameras went out of focus I sped to my treehouse.

Luke was spread out on the floor unconscious but the moment I went to wake him up, he suddenly sprang up, catching me unexpected and landing a punch to my jaw, causing me to stumble backwards.

The surprise attack gave way to him trying to sneak out but he was still weak so I easily caught up with him. Dragging his leg I pulled him down and straddled him keeping a tight grip on his neck.

"Well that was a warm welcome" I grunted out. He chuckled "I see you're getting slow. Did my punch hurt you? well am glad it did."

Smirking I pulled him up, he tried thrashing but I gripped his neck tighter, "keep moving and you die". He seemed to know I wasn't kidding so he stood still.

Sitting him down I cuffed him to chair and took a look round the house.

He was currently putting on the  jacket I dropped here, the table was overthrown and broken, only the chair remained intact.

Stretching upwards I pulled out a wood that held all the weapons I had left there.

My bronze knuckles, three knives, a gun, two hand drillers, darts, an enchanted chain and two camera sets.

Luke stared with wide eyes "I can't believe I was friends with a bitch like you".

I shrugged "you may have been friends with me but I sure wasn't friends with you". Putting on the bronze knuckles I smirked at him.

"Cora wants to play, so let's see how strong you really are without your wolf".

He gulped "don't do this Aurora" but I smiled "begging will be pointless".

I stared at Luke with a smirk on my face "you certainly aren't strong without your wolf".

He looked all bloody and he was gasping for air, his eyes were swollen and his lips busted.

I felt Cora stretch. Release his wolf let's see how he'll do.

Chuckling I knocked him out, placed my hand on both sides of his head and called on my powers. Venturing into his head I woke his wolf up but blocked it from linking with anyone.

When I was done I crunched on the floor watching closely for his reaction, not forgetting to chain him up with the enchanted chain.

When he finally woke up he tried standing up but the chain held him down. He must have felt his wolf's presence because he tried getting of the chain.

Chuckling I waved the key to the chain before him "do you wanna play catch, you get the key and I set you free. You don't and I get to continue torturing you. So what do you say, you in?"

He growled "you bitch when I get you am so going to kill you and make....." I yawned widely cutting him off.

"Don't you mean if you get your hands on me. Come on Luke, there's nothing you can do okay".

He growled again and tried getting up but the more he struggled the tighter the chain held him. After tiring himself out he flopped down.

"Now I have some questions for you. And you must answer them".

He grunted not saying a word, his wounds were beginning to heal and at quiet a fast rate since his wolf is rejuvenated.

"Tell me Luke how's Liam incomplete?, you made that statement at the birthday party and am still curious"

He scoffed "not saying a thing so just forget it". I smiled at him "just the statement I was hoping for".

Getting up from my position I picked up a spiral knife waving it before him "am so going to have so much fun with you"

Before I could proceed I felt Liam really reaching for me in the mind link.

Where are you? He aksed immediately.

I rolled my eyes. Forest grounds.

What the hell are you doing there, it's dangerous.

I chuckled softly. Chill Liam am just finishing up my assignments.

Why don't you do that in your room. Am about heading to your room now.

I need air Liam, plus Cora wants to run for a while. I promise I'll let you know if I see anything suspicious.

Don't just let me know, run while you do that.

Sure thing boyfriend. Well you're distracting me so, am out.

Blocking the link i turned to Luke "now let's get back to you".

Placing the knife on his thigh I gently pierced through his skin, he grunted the deeper I got till the knife was buried to the hilt. Pulling it out I forcedly pushed it back in.

He let out a growl but I didn't stop there, taking it out again I administered the same love to his other thigh.

"Are you ready to talk now?". He shook his head widely "fuck you I've gotten nothing to say to you".

"Oh honey am the one doing the fucking up" I took the hand drillers placing the two at both knee caps "last chance buddy".

He glared at me "go to hell", smirking I turned on the driller watching as it made way through his kneecaps. His blood splashed around as he growled.

Damn his cries are musical. Cora howled.

Halfway through I stopped, the moment he got quiet I turned it on again and kept pushing till it was buried in his knees.

Luke kept thrashing, the chain got tighter and his blood kept splattering. The sight was beautiful.

After a while he growled out "I'll talk, I'll fucking talk". I waited a bit before taking off the drillers.

He slumped back in his seat, blood still dripping off his knees but the wounds on his thighs were healing. He seemed to be falling unconscious so I slapped him.

He groaned "what do you want to know?". I raised the drillers up "don't make me repeat myself".

He grunted loudly "Liam is incomplete because he isn't a normal werewolf. As you know Liam's Mom had a weak wolf but Maxwell tried some enhancement on her, when she give birth to Liam, he had both the abilities of a normal wolf and the enhanced wolf but his enhancement was recessive while his normal wolf was dominat".

"Growing up, he has been used by Maxwell to try out different enhancement and different theories, this lead to the slow killing of his natural wolf and the awakening of the enhancement he inherited from his mother".

"After a while he became stronger faster, smarter and all that. The enhancement gave him a whole lot of edge over us and over any other werewolf. He literally became an alpha".

I shook my head in confusion "and why does that make him incomplete?".

Luke laughed "didn't you hear me, he's an enhanced wolf Aurora, way more than enhanced and this killed his natural wolf leaving him with a cold hearted wolf who kills without thoughts, his enhanced wolf doesn't have a mate because it was created not naturally born".

"What do you mean he can't have a mate?"

"He's wolf has always been in the shadow never coming out unless Liam let's go and when he eventually does come out, Liam has zero control over him. This is why he doesn't have a mate, last I heard he killed two girls who tried to get too close"

I chuckled softly "so you all drilled into Liam that he was incomplete and that he doesn't deserve a mate, all for nothing. Now I need to know why you guys hate him so much".

"Because he has what everyone wants, power. Even Maxwell is weary of him, and to worsen it, he defeated everyone who tried to contest with him, he defeated Rex and Nathan and he even had an upper hand over Maxwell in a fight. Everyone is scared of him and made him Alpha over the assassins".

They hurt mate, the hurt our mate for nothing. Cora growled.

I clenched my fist in anger "so all you guys did was belittle my mate because of something he couldn't control?". Luke's eyes widened in shock, "mate? Liam is your mate?".

Cora growled out "yes and you all hurt him. You all hurt my mate".

I gripped his throat cutting his air circulation and punched him hard ensuring to be generous with the venom before throwing him across the room, the chair broke on impact but the chain was still on him.

I walked over to where he lay, "am going to make an example of you", I raised my hand to punch him when I felt Liam trying to reach me through the link and he seemed frantic.

Going to the open mind link I froze at what I heard.

Alpha Miguel was gathering guards at the border.

Maxwell was assembling assassins and talking about some tracker shit.

I gripped Luke's hair "why am I hearing about a tracker?"

"Wha- what do you mean?". I gripped his hair tighter "do the assassins have any trackers?" I growled.

"Yes, some for the tattoo and others were placed in a gun". At his words I froze letting him fall.

Recalling the night I was shot, I pressed a hand to my side and gulped, for the first time in a long time I felt fear.

Cora began pacing. We have to act fast.

Picking Luke up I took the chains off him, he slumped on the floor drained. I began packing all my weapons into the backpack leaving only a knife.

Taking my shirt off I dug the knife into my side gritting my teeth in pain.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Luke rasped. Ignoring him I used my finger to prode the injury feeling the tiny nuisance stuck on my flesh.

Holding my breath I used the knife to take off the tracker ensuring to keep feeling for it in case it falls off. Placing the tracker on the floor I wiped the blood off the knife and kept it in the back pack. Then picked Luke's discarded clothes and wrapped the tracker, ensuring to get my blood off it.

"You were shot huh?, There's no hiding they're gonna get you".

Ignoring him I walked to him "that's if they know who they're searching for". Holding on his pressure point I watched him faint then got to work.

Flipping through my memories I recalled the spells I need to take his memory.

I called on my power, ventured to his head and began wiping his memories stopping only where he was knocked out before he was taken and placed a block in his mind so he wouldn't think further than there.

Masking my scent I wore the backpack forward and dragged an unconscious Luke to my back grunting in pain when I leaned on my side. Using the chain I tied him to me, thankfully he's a bit lighter from the starvation and lack of muscles.

Jumping from tree to tree I headed to the border keeping the link open but I heard the troops giving report on how they had me surrounded.

Climbing a tree I held Luke's nose, seizing his breath so his heart would beat slowy while holding mine.

"Show yourself now and we'll go easy on you" I heard Maxwell say from my left.

I took a deep breath to calm myself but I couldn't stop the shiver of fear that ran through my body, plus holding my breath was making my injury ache.

I felt Liam and my friends trying to reach me so I gave in and released my emotions in the mind link. But I didn't respond.

"So you want it the hard way right?. Set it on fire" Alpha Miguel boomed.

We have to do something Cora. Am scared.

Cora was quiet for a while before she stopped pacing. Stay put and let me take control when I say so okay.

I nodded.

A grenade landed by a tree far from me engulfing it in flames, a second one landed a little close to me the force almost knocking me down from the tree. It became hot so I released my breath and Luke's nose.

Still hopping on branches I decide to take a route out but another grenade landed at my front knocking the tree down and throwing me off. I turned back moving away from the heat.

The fire was spreading quickly and the heat unbearable. I could feel it getting to my skin and Luke shifted uncontrollably.

I need you to cast a fireproof spell and shift. Cora ordered.

Calling on my power and balancing it was quiet difficult due to the distraction and strain. But when I finally cast the spell, I unchained Luke from me and took of my clothes hastily putting it in my backpack before shifting and let my power take over.

The red hue shone brighter in the midst of the fire and Cora stood on her hunches growling.

"Shoot it down" Alpha Stevens ordered and I felt my body being hit in different places at a fast rate.

Growling loudly Cora picked Luke with her mouth flinging him to the left, his body knocking off two people. Picking up the cloth that had the tracker Cora threw it towards Maxwell.

Turning, I looked round easily recognizing Liam, I stared at him for a while, before growling. Picking up the backpack I took off in the fire towards the border.

Going to our mind link I screamed.

Liam help. Then blocked him out.

Getting to the border I pushed myself at the guards killing every single one of them without second thoughts their screams fueling my rage. Before leaving I picked a tablet ensuring to hold it safely.

With one last look at the forest I stepped outside the border and headed East.

After a while I felt weak and tired, shifting back to my human form I shook my head to wad of the dizziness.

Tranquilizers, we were shot with lots of them. You need to rest before we head on. Cora said.

She also sounded weak. Casting three spells and getting shot could do that.

Dressing as fast as I could I climbed a tree balanced myself on the top and masked my scent. There's a waterfall fall close by so I knew the sound would muffle my heartbeat.

Checking the tablet I ensured that no tracker was shot at me. The last thing I need is to be trailed again. Luckily none was shot at me

Closing my eyes, my mind wandered to Liam.

There's no way we can do this alone, we need him. I admitted.

Am glad you think so. Cora grumbled. But before we talk to him we have something to do first.

Which is?

Rest and get our strength back. We're gonna need it for our next plan. After that we can talk to Liam.
