Liam's POV

I let out a little groan as I massaged my forehead trying to lessen the rising headache. For crying out loud we've been at this meeting since 4am and it's currently 11am.

Xavier was getting irritated and I knew it was only a matter of time before he explodes.

The Alphas, enforcer Michael, Maxwell, Nathan, Mark, Damien and I are currently in the Alphas office discussing yesterday's event.

We've gone through every camera footages and scanned the pack territory. Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

What was most annoying was the fact that the wolf didn't have a scent. Not even a little. It was going on a wild goose chase.

"So what's the next step?" Damien asked, Maxwell sat straight "how about luring this wolf out?"

"And how do you propose we do that?. We don't know anything about the wolf or what it wants, so how do we lure it" Alpha Stevens asked. Maxwell rubbed his jaw, then released a breath "that's true, none of it's appearance is related to a significant event".

I turned to Damien "while you were close to the wolf, what could you sense?"

Damien looked to be thinking for a while before he answered "Anger. Pure intense rage, I was actually worried it would snap my neck". He shuddered at the memory "But the question now is why it's so angry".

I scanned Damien, he still looks shaken up, good thing he wasn't hurt. It did be a shame to have a young Alpha and enforcer in the hospital at the same time.

"Is there anything in history that talks about an Alpha Red wolf?" I asked.

Enforcer Michael shook his head "none that I know of. But this wolf is an exception, it's dominance is something I've never felt".

Alpha Stevens nodded "it's the second time it made us submit, and its very obvious the wolf was holding back yesterday"

"And I don't think the third time will be pretty" Mark spoke for the first time.

We all turned to him "what do you mean?" Maxwell asked.

Mark shrugged "that wolf doesn't seem friendly. When we first heard it's howl, it's was outside our pack border and it was filled with anger, then it howled right in front of us again in pure anger. And you just said it now, it was holding back, so the third time it might not howl in warning, it could just decide to go on a killing spree"

"Yeah it had a mini killing spree yesterday, we lost seven people". Nathan added

"And there's nothing that can link us to that wolf. We don't even know why it's angry at us. Other packs I've contacted haven't had any encounter with the wolf" Maxwell said.

Alpha Miguel shook his head "well as usual we're at a dead end. I think we should stop here and get some rest. We'll meet up by 4pm"

"How's Rex and Theo?" Mark asked.

Alpha Stevens growled out "they're good but they're not healing". I tilted my head "what do you mean they're not healing, how bad are their injuries".

Maxwell shook his head "Rex has little injuries but his hands were dislocated from the joint and his spine was broken at the middle. Theo on the other hand might not survive, his face was smashed, his bones broken and other injuries"

Now that's our mate, Xavier chuckled.

Yeah but how did she manage to give them these injuries and come out without a scratch.

She had her nose broken and a scratch on her shoulder. Xavier argued.

Yeah but she healed before the fight was over.

Am not arguing with you. I do know am glad our mate is okay and those idiots are hospitalized.

I chuckled softly. You're right on that.

"And he isn't healing one bit, it's like their healing powers are gone. What if they both die, am so going to kill that brat" Alpha Stevens gritted out.

Enforcer Michael growled and glared at him. They both stared at each other before Alpha Stevens apologize.

"Am sure it's the strain of the fight that's reducing their healing rate. They'll be fine Alpha Stevens" Mark encouraged.

Alpha Stevens breathed heavily "I hope so".

Alpha Miguel turned to me "is there something you want to tell us?"

I frowned "about what Alpha?"

"Aurora and the spar" he stated.

I shrugged "nothing, I guess she was pissed since the spar was unfair".

Enforcer Michael grunted glaring at Maxwell "very true on that".

"Well good day everyone" Alpha Stevens muttered.

We all left the office to our various rooms.

Aurora's POV

I grinned as I blew bubbles in my drink, watching them burst before taking a sip and repeating the process again.

"You seem to be in an awfully good mood" Neil noted. I smiled at him "yeah I had a good rest".

Kate nudged me "you're sure about that?. You just seem hyper and excited". I nodded and blew more bubbles.

We are currently in the Great Hall waiting for the meeting to commence.

I had woken up by 1pm after a  deserved long ass rest, then went through the video feeds from the Alphas office.

Remembering their conversation widened my smile

It's funny how they think we can be lured. Cora snorted

I know right, It's so obvious how fustrated they are and how they keep running in circles. I grinned

Well I don't care, I love the chase.

And we'll lead them on more tonight. I smirked

When do you plan on hitting off.

During the meeting.

Let's see how they'll handle this. Cora chuckled. Oh shit hot mate coming in from the left.

I turned my gaze to the left entrance of the hall, Liam and Nathan were walking in, both were engrossed in a conversation.

The moment he stepped in, Liam perked up and looked round before his eyes landed on me. Sending a wink my way he turned back to Nathan

Isn't he just edible, how the hell does he even cope with all the sexiness. Cora swooned.

I know right, it's so not fair. I grumbled.

Cora chuckled, well he's all ours and we can do anything we want to his sexy body.

Cora what the hell.

What, it's not like you don't think about it and don't bother denying it, am in your head girl so I know all your thoughts.

Just shut up. I mumbled blushing with a smile.

"Are you even listening to me"

I turned to Mary and gave her a small smile "sorry I wandered off a bit".

Dave grinned at me "wanna share why you are blushing and smiling like a maniac"

I let out a little laugh "just talking with my wolf about some stuffs".

"And does this stuff have to do with your mate who just walked in?" Mary giggled

I winked at her and soon we were all laughing loud.

While in our bubble I sensed someone walking our way and from the scent I knew that a huge show was coming up.

"Oh no, Ophelia is heading here and she looks furious" Mary gulped.

I smiled "I know"

"You fucking bitch" Ophelia screamed the moment she got close.

The hall became quiet, everyone both young and old turned to to us. And from the whispers it was obvious they recognized me.

My goodness, she's the one,

She's the girl who defeated young Alpha Rex,

Wow never knew she's this hot,

She'll make a perfect warrior,

Am sure young Alpha Rex is embarrassed

Do you think she's gotten a mate yet?.

Yes bitches I have a mate, Cora growled.

I rolled my eyes at the whispers before blocking them out.

"Am talking to you Aurora"

I turned to Ophelia, who stood with Jenny and blondie at her sides, "and what were you saying?".

She stepped closer and Cora gagged, glaring at her I raised my hand stopping her approach "why don't you move back, your stench is making me gag, and my wolf hates smelly people"

The hall was filled with laughters. Ophelia looked like she could kill me with her eyes, "You think it's funny" she growled out her wolf coming to the surface.

I shrugged "you didn't see me laughing did you, now tell me what do you want?"

"What did you do to my mate?" She growled.

I smriked "I don't know, what does it look like I did?"

She growled again getting close to shifting, she stepped forward, "you psychopathic bitch, my mate is struggling for his life and worse he's not healing. How can you sit and smile when you nearly took an innocent life".

At her words I let out a loud laugh.

Innocent life my ass, Cora snickered.

Wiping the tears from my eyes I stood up folding my arms across my chest, "if Theo had the chance do you think he'll just hit me down and leave?"

She chuckled "He would ensure that you weren't even breathing".

"Then you should be happy he's breathing" I walked up to her face and whispered "pray he survives but know that it wouldn't change anything, am still gonna kill him"

Stepping back I grinned, She let out a growl and came at me but Liam came between us while Nathan held her off.

Struggling from Nathan's hold she stepped forward but he held her back again tightening his grip "Let me go, I going to kill that worthless bitch"

Liam growled loudly but she kept cursing and struggling.

Moving closer I used the mind link to speak to him.

"Calm down, you don't wanna rip her throat off do you?"

"Well ripping her throat is the plan" he growled.

I rolled my eyes at him before subtly placing my hand on his back, after a while he relaxed.

"Take her out, she's creating a scene" Liam said to Nathan who nodded and pulled a struggling and still cursing Ophelia out the hall. Jenny and blondie glared at me before joining their leader.

When they left Liam turned to me nodded and went after Nathan.

I missed you. I heard him through the link.

Blushing I smiled. Yeah, guess I did too.

Wanna hangout after the meeting?

Sure, where?

I'll let you know later. See ya mate and stay out of trouble.

Yes sir. I giggled.

Sitting down Mary handed me another drink, "thanks, that argument drained me"

She giggled "what were you and Liam talking about and why were you two close?".

"And don't lie, I saw you groping him" Dave added.

I shook head "I wasn't groping him, I just needed him calm so he doesn't make a rash decision".

Yeah like ripping off the bitch's head, although I think it's one hell of a good decision. Cora snickered.

The guys shared a look before turning to me, "why haven't you guys had sex yet?" Kate asked.

I choked on my drink, coughing and gasping for air.

Cora howled in laughter. Damn they went for the kill.

Are you okay baby girl?. Liam asked with a hint of laughter.

I looked round the room and saw him standing with Nathan, a tiny smirk on his face. And from the smirk it's obvious he heard the question.

I glared at him, which only succeeded in making his smirk wider.

"Aurora are you okay?" Neil asked worried. I nodded "yeah I am, it's not like I nearly choked. Am good"

They shared another look before laughing again, I glared at them, while taking a sip.

Relax girl pretty soon they wouldn't need to ask the question cause it would be pretty obvious we've mated.

I choked again, the drink coming off through my mouth and nose, with a burning sensation.

They guys turned to me, Kate quickly rubbed my back, while I tried to get my coughing under control.

Cora was laughing her head off and through the link I could feel Liam and Xavier's good mood.

Glad my near death makes you laugh. I growled out to them.

Turning to Kate I smiled at her "thanks".

She nodded with smile "no problem, it's our fault anyways, sorry for making you feel uncomfortable".

I shook my head "it's nothing, just caught off guard. But Liam and I will mate when we're both ready and for now am not ready".

They nodded before the conversation drifted to non choking topics.

The hall suddenly grew quiet and everyone stood up, looking towards the entrance by the podium I saw the elders walking in.

I smiled in anticipation

You ready girl. I asked Cora

She chuckled darkly. certainly, let's do this.
