I banged harder on the door, I kept screaming hoping they'll hear

I woke with a start and looked round in fright, seeing the familiar surrounding I calmed down a bit.

I was in my room in the pack house not the secret room in my home in Tennessee.

I went to the bathroom and washed my face, the clock showed 5:25am, just barely 5hours after I slept off.

Picking the picture on my nightstand I clutched it to my chest as the tears came in torrents.

Cora whined softly.

I closed my eyes but behind my eyelids I could still see blood, the way Dad Tyler's head was separated from his body and Dad Vito's heart pulled out of his chest.

The memories made my heart break all over.

Aurora are you alright?

I flinched at the sound of Liam's voice in my head.

I was about to counter him when my phone rang. Liam was video calling me.

Pick it Aurora, I need to be sure you're okay.

Wiping my tears I picked.

I noticed the way his roamed my face before they soften "what happened?".

I scoffed, he wants me to talk about how his fellow assassins murdered my parents. Like hell.

"Are you sure?" He asked again and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes.

"Yes Liam am sure, I need to go back to sleep.

"Wait you don't look good and am worried about you. Please just tell me what's wrong"

"Like I said am perfectly fine and I don't need you worrying about me, hell I don't even need you at all". I said raising my voice.

Hanging up, I blocked him from my head and laid on my bed.

This isn't fair you know, Cora grumbled.

I shrugged not in the mood to argue with her. After a while she spoke up.

I felt Cora withdraw, I know she's right but am confused. I don't think I've ever been in this state of indecision.

Tracing the faces in the picture I tried to think, "am confused, I really don't know what to do. I really wish you guys are alive".

With the picture on my chest and the lullaby of Mum Celine's heartbeat, I fell into a restless sleep.

She rolled her eyes. Yes he will, now quit pacing and sit still.

I nodded and tried to calm my nerves.

Earlier this morning when I woke up I already made my decision. And Cora true to her words stood by me.

I texted Liam to meet me at our training spot by 11am and it was just 10:55, I've been here for the past fifteen minutes and my nerves are getting a better part of me.

Taking Cora's advice to sit still, I laid on the blanket I had spread earlier. Using one arm I tried to shield my face from the sun.

I must had slept off because after a while I felt someone standing over me and completely blocking the sun.

I looked up to see Liam staring at me, head tilted, hands in his pocket and his body tensed.

The one emotion I could feel from him was hurt, pain and his wolf is restless.

Cora whined softly.

I stood up quickly and hugged him tightly ranting out my apologies "am sorry, am so so sorry. It was wrong of me to talk like that but I just had a lot of things to sort out and I wasn't sure on what to do or chose"

It felt like forever before he wrapped his arms around my waist and returned the hug. Tucking his head in the crook of my neck he inhaled deeply but I could still feel his tensed muscles.

Deciding not to waste more time I pulled backed and kissed him, making sure to put my emotions into it.

When we broke apart he placed his forehead on mine.

"You. I chose you" I whispered Immediately.

I could feel his relief and the way he relaxed instantly, he hugged me again.

"Don't ever scare me like that again Aurora" and I nodded.

After a while we sat on the blanket.

"My parents were killed, I may not have seen their deaths but I still remember their voices before my link with them broke, I could still feel their pain. And when I did get to see their bodies it wasn't pretty".

I turned to face him "that was what my nightmare was about. But what hurts me the most is the fact that I know who's responsible for their deaths".

He nodded pulling me more closer to his body "My mum and Maxwell's mate were killed while trying to protect me from rouges. I saw the killer, he just doesn't know I did, I guess it's because he thought he disguised himself pretty well".

We sat in silence digesting the new found information about each other.

Liam's body tensed and his eyes glazed over so I knew he was in a mind link.

Turning to me he nuzzled my neck "I've got to go, Maxwell needs me at the hospital. He says it urgent".

I nodded and we both stood. Unblocking him I spoke through the mind link.

When will you be back?

He smiled, I don't know, but I'll find you.

Giving me one last kiss he jogged towards the hospital.

"Hello Luke, you look horrible" I stated the moment I entered the treehouse.

He glared at me but it died down when I splashed some water on him.

"You stink and my wolf hates stenches".

He only slumped in his seat "what did you do to me?".

"What do you mean?" I asked playing innocent.

He glared at me, "I can feel the bond with my wolf weakening".

"Ooh that" picking up the brass knuckles I waved them at him "it's the venom in your body".

I walked to him and squatted "am gonna ask you three questions and you answer honestly. But you can still prove difficult, I'll just get to vent my anger at you"

"First, tell me about the tracking chip and where I'll find the files."

He huffed "it's a microchip that will be inserted in us, the file about it is not saved in the system but a file and it's in the Alphas office".

I nodded, that's explains why I couldn't find it.

"Second question, what's the second phase?".

He shook his head "I can't".

I smiled and shrugged my shoulders "okay then", still squatting I wore the brass knuckles.

The first punch was to his knees, the second was to his tighs and the third to his shoulders.

He groaned and squirmed "tell me about the second phase".

He shook his head so I punched him at the same places again.

After 15 minutes of alternating where to punch he finally succumbed.

"I'll talk please just stop".

I sat down with a smile "that was refreshing and I didn't even use my wolf strength. Cora is feeling left out".

"Now talk".

"The second phase is the forceful enhancement of some shifters. This time the dose will be doubled for more enhanced effects".

What the actual fuck, Cora growled.

"What do you mean double, half of the shifters that were taken barely survived, how will they survive double dosage" I roared loudly.

He exhaled slowly "because the Alphas and Maxwell want to make history. Well it's all Maxwell's idea, at a young age he found a way to make his sister's wolf dominant. The success of the project led him to experimenting on rouges trying out different things on them".

Maxwell is a psychopath, Cora snorted in disgust.

He is. I can't wait to kill him. I agreed.

And we are gonna have fun with that, we'll stretch his death till he begs to be killed. Cora snickered.

Turning my attention to Luke I gave him smile, "Well time for your reward".

I fed him, ensuring to give him very little. Not like he needed the strength for anything.

After a while he eyes were dropping "what the fuck did you give me?".

I shrugged "just something to keep you asleep while am busy".

He started struggling "why would you need to sedate me?".

I smiled "you'll know when you wake up".

Few moments later he fell asleep. I untied him and removed his cuffs, then laid him in the floor.

Kneeling at his head I placed my palms on both sides of his head and closed my eyes exhaling slowly.

Concentrating deeply I ventured into his head and met his wolf, a huge brown wolf with black eyes by name Dex. Casting a spell I put his wolf to sleep. It was to stay asleep till I released it.

Leaving Luke's head I chained him back to the chair and cuffed him again.

Then went through my usual routine of shifting and rubbing my body on my clothes to repel Luke's scent on me.

I was walking back to the pack house when Cora popped.
