Liam's POV

"What is wrong with you Lisa, how could you be so cruel to your sister" Mrs Michael asks.

They were currently in her office, while I stood outside the office. The other girls had left with detention.

"But mom it's..."

"I don't want to hear it Lisa, we're trying to repair our relationship with her and you're ruining our efforts".

"But why is it so important to repair your relationship, last time I checked you and dad are the ones who ruined it".

"It's important Lisa, we need...".

But I was cut short when I heard Maxwell through the mind link

You're needed in the Alphas office now.

Yes sir.

The conversation was already over and Lisa was leaving the office, the moment she saw me, she batted her lashes at me and tried to look seductive.

What's with the blinking, It looks like her entire lashes fell into her eyes, Xavier grumbled and I snorted.

"Hy Liam" she purred, I gave her a blank stare and stepped aside for her to pass but she followed my movement.

"Do you want something miss Lisa?"

She smiled "I was wondering if you could take me on a private lesson....".

"You stink" I stated with a glare.

She stared at me in confusion, "what do you mean by that?".

"I can smell various unmated males on you and the stench is unbearable, I suggest you take a shower".

I stepped around her and walked into the office, "I have to leave ma'am, Maxwell needs me".

Mrs Michael nodded and waved me off.

I was seated in the Alphas office with both Alphas, enforcer Michael and Maxwell.

Alpha Miguel rubbed his forehead "any news or update on the search?".

Maxwell shook his head "nothing, no scent, the forest floor is covered with leafs and branches so getting a footprint was impossible. It's weird that even I or Liam couldn't pick a scent. Plus no connection to him yet, not even feelings, the mind link is blank".

And I'll be honest that got me worried, it was like there was no one there. We could only pick the faint scent of Luke and Aurora.

What if the person had taken her too, what if we lost her, Xavier growled.

The thought was terrifying and I was angry at whoever dared laid a hand on my mate.

She's safe Xavier, she's not hurt.

I felt a tap on my shoulders and looked up, "we asked on your opinion Liam" Maxwell said.

Enforcer Michael nodded "yes you're the best in the league and your tracking skills are top notch".

I sat up straight "that is why am worried, no scent no footprint, not even at the pack border. It was like the person flew over the border, or he moved from tree to tree and escaped the border but that can't be possible while carrying Luke".

"What about the creek?" Alpha Stevens asked.

"Nothing also, no print no sign of a boat".

"So what's your theory on this" alpha Stevens asked Maxwell.

"Whoever did this is messing with us, either a rival pack or an enemy of either of you" he motioned to the Alphas.

"That is probably true" Alpha Miguel agreed "lots of other packs wanted to merge with your pack Stevens".

They were quiet for a while before enforcer Michael spoke up "if that's the case then we need to up our security and wait for a response".

I shook my head "that's not all. Whoever took Luke knew he was going to take that route so he ambushed him. He wasn't expecting Aurora, he probably left her so she could warn us or maybe he couldn't take her. Too much luggage will slow him down".

I noticed that Maxwell stiffened it was subtle but I caught on it.

Turning to the Alphas "it makes me wonder why Rex wanted to see the girl, why he picked Luke, why he didn't approach her himself and if he was actually at the creek"

I smirked to myself, Maxwell certainly had something to do with this, because at my last statement his fist was tightly clenched and his posture stiff. I could feel the apprehension coming from him.

"That doesn't make sense, Rex said he picked Luke because he's a friend of Aurora and she would come with him. He just wanted to convince Aurora to get back with him" Maxwell countered defensively.

"That is quiet true but I'll ask him, we can never be too sure" enforcer Michael said.

Alpha Stevens turned to me "I would like you to increase training with her, there's a possiblity she could be taken next if we don't do anything. She's at risk"

Well let him try, Xavier hissed.

I nodded "it will be done alpha"

"Well this meeting is dismissed, let's be on guard and Maxwell don't forget to add more security detail" Alpha Miguel said.

"Sure thing alpha"

Maxwell and I bowed and left the office.

"My office now" Maxwell growled. I nodded and we walked in silence to his office.

"What the hell was that?" He boomed the moment we were inside.

Stuffing my hand in my pocket I cocked my head, "what was what Maxwell?".

He glared at me "why would you suspect the young alpha, he has nothing to do with this".

Shrugging nonchalantly I move round his office, "the floor was open for opinions and thoughts, besides how sure are you that he's innocent. We all know Luke is in love with Rex, he probably took Luke out to avoid any hitch in getting back with Aurora"

"Well am telling you he didn't so stop"

I stopped before him "and how are you so sure and confident about that, it's not like you were with him and knew what Rex was planning" I glared at him "or were you?".

"I don't have to be with him to know he's innocent. I know that he's in love with the girl and wants her back. They're mates".

He was pissed, I could feel it but he was trying to control it and not give himself away.

Smiling I nodded and stepped back "okay then Maxwell, I'll leave it for now". I looked at my watch "I have to go, need to rest for a while before meeting with Aurora"

"And why are you meeting with her?" He asked with a glare.

"Training".

He nodded "why don't you leave the training to Rex, he's almost as good as you are".

Keeping my face blank I shrugged "I would have if he was as good as me but her father wanted the best".

"Well I can take her" he continued.

I stared at him for long before moving to the door, "she was placed in my care so she's mine and that's final Maxwell".

Two things are for sure;

He was with Rex that night,

And he's sick pedophile, I could see was his arousal at the mention of Aurora.

If he lays one hand on her, uncle or not am chopping it off, Xavier grunted.

Shaking my head I went to my room at the league's quarters for a short nap before my training with Aurora.

"Keep form, block, now uppercut and jab. Okay let's have a repeat".

We've been going for hours and I must say Aurora has a good stamina. She didn't look too wind up.

"Okay then, that will be all" I stated. She nodded, cracked her neck and picked her bottle taking a huge sip.

"Now that was intense, wanna tell me why am training like am going for war" she asked wiping her mouth.

I cringed "well the Alphas wanted your training upgraded and as intense as possible, to keep you on your feet and prepared at all times"

She tilted her head "okay that's the cover, what's the real truth"

I shrugged and noticed her eyes going straight to my shoulders. Scratch that, she has been staring at me subtly throughout training.

"Okay then if you say so" she complied with a shaky voice and began packing her stuffs.

Deciding to take the highway I walked her to the pack house shirtless. I noticed her sneaking glances at me and shaking her head while muttering to herself. My guess is she's having a conversation with her wolf.

Before we got to the pack house she stepped before me and shook her head wildly "put on a shirt now".

I gave her an innocent stare then glanced at my torso "why, besides am sweaty and I don't want to ruin the clothe".

"Every female is staring at you like some piece of meat" she answered with a frown.

I shrugged and smirked when I saw her closing her eyes and muttering a 'god help me'.

"Liam please put on your shirt, I don't like showcasing what's mine" she huffed.

She looked super cute but I swear my jeans tightened when she made that statement.

Smiling I nodded and wore my shirt. She released a breath but pouted and kept eyeing me.

We walked on and when I saw Rex waiting for her at the entrance I stopped, noticing it she turned to me.

"What's wrong?"

Not answering I leaned down, when she saw this a ghost smile fitted on her lips and she leaned forward for the kiss.

The kiss was as mind-blowing as I recalled but I needed to keep it short.

When I pulled back she whimpered a bit, "that was too short" then she proceeded to pull me down for another.

Well who am I to disagree. Xavier was in cloud nine.

When we broke for air, she smiled and nuzzled her face to my chest, while I wrapped my arms round her waist. "I think I'll be coming for training shirtless if the end result is this".

She chuckled lightly and smacked my chest before returning to her previous position.

After a while she stepped blushing furiously, "goodnight Liam".

I winked at her "night Aurora".

She turned and headed back inside, I noticed the glare Rex sent my way before he followed her inside.

I was tempted to go inside but I knew she could handle herself and she wouldn't be alone.

Turning back to the training ground I noticed he was already there "what's up".

"You do know Rex wants Aurora at all cost right?".

"Yes I do".

"Well he plans on telling Maxwell that she's your mate" I clenched my fist in anger, but he continued "I don't know why that is a good idea to him but from the look of your face it's serious. If you want to keep her you have to be careful especially with your PDAs".

I nodded "thanks but this is the third time you are helping me, am still not sure why you're doing it"

"Don't thank me yet, besides we have a deal" with that he turned and left.

When I got to my room I laid in my bed replaying the day's event. As much as I dislike my informant he was right, Rex was getting out of hand and if Maxwell knows she's my mate thinks might get ugly.

Closing my eyes I thought of our little moment. I would do anything to be with her and keep her safe.

Anything at all.
