I stared at the picture on my night stand, "I wish you guys were here. I could use a hug from you".

It's Saturday and my birthday but it didn't feel like it. I really missed them.

Cora whined.

Shaking my head to clear the sad thoughts I headed to the bathroom.

A lot has happened since my visit to the hospital.

My training went on, although Liam's still acting weird.

The virus was detected yesterday, so the Alphas shifted the second phase for next week. And I still don't know what that is.

I had taken a chair and my weapons to my treehouse two days before at night, so my treehouse was fully complete, just waiting for my guest.

And lastly Rex has been coming on me real hard. We haven't spoken to each other but he always follows me to class and waits for me by the door after class. Thankfully he doesn't sit with me at lunch or walk me to my car. But after my training when Liam walks me to the pack house, he would always be at the entrance.

Stepping out of the shower, I wore some casual clothes, picked my bag and headed to Kate's room where we would prepare for the party. I mind linked her that I was on my way.

And I forgot to mention that Cora convinced me to allow the guys in the mind link. Well except Luke.

Anyways my parents were hosting a birthday party for the twins and although I was invited, I was only going as a pack member and for the food.

Getting to Kate's room I was immediately seated, "it's time to dress you up baby girl" Mary clapped excitedly.

Cora chuckled at her enthusiasm.

So I sat still and let her do her magic.

After an hour of poking, pulling, streching and all I was finally ready, so I put on my gown.

It was a strapless, deep red, floor length gown with a long slit at the right side that showed when I moved. I paired the outfit with red heels and a matching pair of earrings and necklace.

My hair was straightened but curled at the tip, stopping at my butt.

Kate came out of the bathroom already dressed. She was putting on a blue strapless gown with a slit at the right side, Mary had the same clothes but hers was pink.

We had chosen to wear matching outfits for the party. And I must say we looked hot.

A knock sounded before Dave and Neil walked in, they looked both dashing in suits.

"OMG we look hot" Dave gushed, we laughed and took some pictures then headed down to the Great Hall.

Entering the Great Hall I scoffed, they certainly went overboard with the decorations.

At least they have lots of food Cora said.

Thank the moon goddess.

The guys and I sat at the back as usual and started talking but my happy mood died when I felt his presence.

"Aurora can I speak with you for a moment"

The table went silent, turning I frowned, "what do you want alpha Rex?"

"Few minutes, I just need to talk to you"

Huffing I stood "sure lead the way".

Rex's POV

I led her to the kitchen and pulled out a chair for her to sit on but she shook her head.

"Am standing so you better hurry up, I've got to eat".

While I was angry at the tone she used I was sad. I wouldn't blame her since I was at fault.

"I want us to get back together" I stated simply while watching her face face for any form of emotion.

She just stared at me with a blank face then cocked her head, "are you done alpha Rex?"

"No am still waiting for your response".

She nodded "well I don't want you back".

I gaped at her, didn't she feel the pull towards me anymore.

"But but why?" I sputtered.

"Because I don't want you as a mate and besides you're not worth being called my mate" she said shrugging her shoulders.

I glared at her, "is there someone else?"

She only smiled, and shrugged again, "am assuming that's all so I'll be leaving".

As she turned to leave I held her hand "it's that Liam of a guy isn't it, what do you see in him huh, he's not even a sane or complete werewolf. So tell me what do you see in him?"

Her eyes shone brighter then she twisted her arm, making my grip on hers loosening. Before I could re-tightend my grip, she held my arm and bent it backwards.

"Next time you speak bad about my mate, I'll snap your neck and not your wrist" I could tell it was her wolf that was speaking and she did snap my wrist before letting go and stomping off.

I was pissed, how dare she just act like it didn't matter, I wanted her and I was going to go her. I wouldn't care what it took, even if it meant dealing with Liam the so called alpha assassin.

Liam's POV

I was heading to the Great Hall when I bumped into someone.

Mate, Xavier howled.

"Shit Liam am sorry, I wasn't watching" she apologized quickly.

I smiled at her, "it's okay I wasn't watching either". My hands were still on her waist so I pulled her closer only for another scent to hit me.

Pulling back I looked over at her, she seemed pissed and her body was shaking, "are you alright, did Rex do something to you?"

"Yeah am good but how did you know I was with Rex, you know what never mind" she shook her head.

"It's obvious you're not good" I stated adamantly, "come on let's go for a walk".

She hesitated for a moment, "but the party..." "The party won't begin till 10pm, we've got about 30 minutes".

She finally nodded so I pulled her outside

"Hope you don't mind if we head to our training spot" I asked nervously

She looked confused but nodded. So we walked on.

When we got there I turned to her, the moonlight illuminating her face, I shook my head and tried to concentrate on asking her what Rex did rather than her lips.

That's going to be real hard, Xavier commented.

I took off my jacket and laid it on the grass, we both sat down. None of us saying anything for a while.

She breathed deeply, "Rex wants me back", I stiffened but didn't say anything.

So she continued, "he wants me back and when I said no he was pissed and grabbed my hand. He started talking trash about you and I lost it, so I snapped his wrist and threatened to snap his neck the next time he talks bad about you. Then left and bumped into you".

I was shocked, Aurora who couldn't master some stances over powered Rex and snapped his wrist and she did it to defend me. My admiration for her grew at that moment.

"Aren't you gonna say something?",she asked, I don't know if it was me or she actually looked unsure and vulnerable so I did the first thing that came to mind.

I pulled her closer to me, her head on my chest, my chin on her head and interlaced our fingers, my other hand going through her long ass hair.

"Thanks for defending me" I said gruffly. I felt her nod, "anytime but can I ask you a question".

"Sure shoot".

"Rex said that you're not sane or complete, what does he mean".

I tensed at her question, the action making her pull back.

"Its nothing, am actually sane and whole".

She was about to say something when she shook her head and stood up, "the guys are calling me but we're not done here Liam"

I chuckled, "sure enjoy the party".

She smiled, waved and headed back inside while I sat still.

Not whole, not sane.

I knew I wasn't but it hurt to hear someone else saying it to me. I wonder how she would react if she knew just how incomplete I was.

I might not be good enough to be her mate. Not with my secrets and issues.

I just sat there wallowing in self pity.

The party has started, where are you?, my uncle asked through the mind link

I'll be there soon.

Get here now, we have a situation.

Standing I brushed the grass off my clothes and head inside.

Aurora's POV

"Hey, what did Rex want?" Neil asked the second I got to the table. I noticed that Luke was here already.

"Hy Luke. And Neil your cousin is infuriating".

Dave chuckled but Luke's grip on the punch he was holding tightened, "so what did he want?" he asked

"He wanted to talk about us getting back together but I refused and left him" I answered.

"How come you reek of Liam and not Rex" Luke asked.

The guys smiled and Dave nudged me.

I blushed, "I met Liam on my way in and we spoke for a while".

Mary and Dave started their singing again.

"I don't think you should be around Liam" Luke stated, his words shutting the singers up.

"And why's that" I challenged.

Luke glanced at me, "because I know him better than anyone so I know he's not worth your time. He's not even normal".

And there goes that statement again.

"What do you mean he's not normal?"Mary asked confused.

But Luke only shrugged his shoulders.

I felt like reaching across the table and strangling him.

I think he knows something and is hiding it

Yeah he does, I can't wait to get my hands on him.

Well you can do that tomorrow.

I smirked, tomorrow am so gong to get Luke.

So instead of asking further I changed the topic, "let's go get pizza and more drinks"

Kate stood immediately, "hell yes am starving"

Before we could talk again my father's voice boomed, "can I have your attention please".

"And there goes my chance of eating" Kate pouted.

We sat down and faced the podium where my parents stood. Father spoke up again, "today we celebrate the birthday of my children. Damien Michael, Lisa Michael".

The crowd cheered wildly.

Damien and Lisa walked up the podium smiling and waving.

When they stood close to my parents, father rose his hand and silence ensued.

"And my last daughter Aurora Michael"

He did not just say that, Cora growled.

The crowd kept cheering but I sat still, I felt Mary place a hand on my shoulder.

"Aurora come up and stand with us" mother said smiling.

But I sat still.

After a while the crowd stopped cheering and they started talking among themselves.

Clenching my fists I stood and turned to the podium, "it's Aurora Knight and it's not my birthday today".
