I tapped my foot consistently, I was getting bored.

"When's this meeting supposed to start again?"

I asked Dave.

He looked at his watch, "8 but it's half past, I wonder what the delay is".

Today is Saturday, exactly four days since I fought the beta.

This morning it was announced that there would be a general assembly by 8pm.

And you know why?

Because the alphas think that the howl from monday night was a rouge wolf that entered our territory.

Neil walked to our table with drinks in his hands.

He handed me mine and I took a big sip.

Mary laughed and did the same but ended up spilling some on her body.

I giggled while Dave snickered.

Kate leaned and kissed the drink off her cheek, which led to Mary blushing furiously.

My good mood was totally ruined when Cora growled loudly.

Everyone turned to look at me.

Cora what's up with you.

They are here, lots of them.

Calm down, everyone is staring.

She growled and kept quite but she was pacing.

I looked at the door when it opened and I understood why Cora was restless.

The elders walked in and about 10 assassins followed behind.

Their stench was slowly suffocating me.

When the Alphas and elders sat down everyone followed suit.

Alpha Stevens stood, "we all know what happened monday night. A dangerous wolf has entered our territory".

Some people gasped and murmurings aroused.

Alpha Stevens raised his hands and silence ensued.

"Our soldiers have scouted the areas around the woods, the only thing found was the Wolf's paw print in the ground".

"But I want us to be assured that this wolf is no longer in our territory since the paw prints led us outside the pack territory. But it could still come back"

I didn't know we left the territory, Cora spoke

Yeah, must have been the adrenaline and anger.

But that's didn't seem to be all.

Alpha Stevens looked around, "these soldiers you see, are stronger than most werewolves, they were able pick up a unique scent from the trail".

Alpha Miguel stood up, "we have decide to take one measure, everyone of us will shift. This is so that we can recognize ourselves when in wolf form".

The murmuring started up again.

I smiled, good thing we can mask our scent when in wolf form.

Cora snorted, dumbasses, they won't find us unless we want them to.

The meeting was dismissed and we all headed to the field for the shifting protocol.

The Alphas shifted first, followed by other elders.

The young alphas shifted next, followed by my siblings and Nathan's siblings.

Mark was absent since his would are yet to heal fully.

The crowd started shifting.

It was in an orderly manner, starting from the first row.

The guys and I are at the last row which meant we get to shift last.

When it got to our row I shifted effortlessly and Cora streched like a cat.

I heard gasps and sounds of surprise and I could guess why.

Cora was a beautiful wolf, with her bright flame colored fur and bright green eyes.

Her eyes only changed to red when we call on our power.

She is a sight to behold and knowing that she strutted proudly.

I noticed unmated males staring at me after we've shifted and dressed.

But what got me worried was the consistent staring of one of the assassins.

He was openly staring at me and didn't bother to hide it.

Ooh boy, this is not good,

But she kept quiet,

Cora, what's wrong,

There's a possibility that the assassin is our mate.

Oh shit, this is bad, please tell me you're kidding.

But I was interrupted when Dave squealed.

"Girl your wolf is hot, I wanna see her again"

Neil growled and hugged Dave possessively to his chest.

I laughed "control yourself Dave, Neil might chop my head off".

Dave only giggled and kissed Neil, which he gladly returned the gesture.

Kate and I fake gagged but Mary cut her off by kissing her.

"Ewww guys, keep it PG", I screamed while covering my eyes.

They broke off laughing.

"Aurora did you notice the hot dude staring at you from the podium".

I shrugged, "it was probably not me"

Dave only wiggled his brows in response.

Alpha Miguel growled loudly and everywhere was quite.

I looked towards the podium and the mystery assassin was still staring at me.

"We shall head back to our rooms but let's all be careful, don't hesitate to report any suspicious activity. Goodnight.".

We all bowed as they left.

Well at least I was bowing.

When they left Damien ran to me immediately.

"Aurora, how are you doing?"

I raised my brows at him in question.

"She's good, what do you want", Mary asked.

Damien shrugged, "I just wanted to say hi and wonder if she knows Liam"

"Who's Liam?" Dave asked.

But I already know who he was talking about. He was standing by the entrance to the pack house

"He's one of the soldiers, he was staring at you and it was pretty obvious, I thought you knew him".

"Yeah, we noticed too" Dave said.

"No I don't know him and am good".

I turned to my friends, "let's go in".

When we got to the door, he was still there.

I turned to look at him and I nearly drooled.

But am pretty sure Cora did.

He was tall, easily 6'7, with muscles. His long hair was jet black and touched his shoulders.

He's eyes are hazel and his face well defined.

Ok Cora, he's a hot specimen

I know right, I wanna fan myself.

I rolled my eyes.

Surprisingly he winked at me

And guess what, she purred.

Cora fucking purred.

Stop it will you it's annoying,I scolded.

Rex growled and we turned to him.

"Stop staring at my mate"

Nathan had a grip on his shoulder.

Liam smiled, "ex-mate young Alpha".

He turned to me and spoke,

"And there's something called a second chance mate".

He walked to me, tugged a strand of my hair and wrapped it around his finger.

He leaned down and whisper

"Nice to meet you Aurora"

With that he strode past us and walked to the elevator.

Rex glared at me then stomped inside with Luke hot on his heels.

I looked round, "well that's was weird".

Nathan chuckled, "I know right".

They guys and I took the stairs up, they were on the fifth floor.

Dave kept making funny comments about the hot warrior being my mate.

I got tired of hitting him so I ignored him.

When we got to the fourth floor I smacked Dave one last time and stepped into the hallway.

After bidding them goodnight I went to my room.

But I couldn't sleep.

All I could see was a certain hazel eyed guy.

I found myself wondering if he's Wolf's eyes would be hazel also.

I smiled when I recalled the way he dismissed Rex claim as my mate.

He definitely had some guts.

But then I remembered who he was.

We can't don't this Cora, he's a killer.

Cora was unusually quiet.

Cora, won't you say something.

She shrugged, let's see how it goes with him. I can feel the mate pull towards him but if he's a threat we won't look back.

I nodded, I knew he was a threat but I wasn't sure if it was to my plans or my heart.

Either way I wasn't ready to risk any just because he was possibly my mate.

Liam's POV

This can't be happening.

Am not supposed have a mate.

It's totally against the assassins code.

But the flame colored wolf before obviously proved me wrong without knowing.

My wolf Xavier that's has always being in the shadows came up.

Mate, he growled loudly.

One thing is certain no one is going to take her from me.

Assassins code be damn.

After the shifting protocol I escorted the Alphas out.

"Why were you staring at Aurora" alpha Miguel asked.

I shrugged my shoulders, "she looks familiar but that's all."

He nodded and went up to his room.

I went back to the entrance of the pack house.

She was standing with some people and I could hear their conversation all thanks to my enhanced abilities.

When she walked towards the pack house I had to calm Xavier down.

I noticed she was staring so I winked at her.

But young alpha Rex had to open his wide mouth

"Stop staring at my mate"

Xavier snorted, like hell.

"Ex-mate young alpha".

I turned to her, "and there's something called a second chance mate".

Unable to help myself I walked to her.

Rolling a strand of her flame colored hair in my finger, I tugged her closer

She was small so I had to lean down, but I caught a whiff of her scent.

"Nice to meet you Aurora",

I turned and went inside before I would lose control.

That was the first night I slept without a nightmare.

All thanks to a certain green eyed beauty.
