Chapter 2
She awoke to something poking her.”Mmmph” She groaned. “Come on Aurora, wake up!” said a familiar voice. “Ok, ok I'm up” She groaned, opening her eyes. She saw a SandWing of her own age.”Hello, Sahara,”Aurora said, perking up.Sahara was a light gold color with off-white underbelly.”I'm hungry, are you?”Sahara asked. Aurora thought for a moment.”Yeah, let’s go to the Prey Center,” Aurora replied, standing up. They walked down the tunnels until they found it. Aurora was starting to wake up, once she was moving. They walked into a giant cave with a wide fast-flowing river and a low wall on the open side left of them. There where a couple of Sandwings, a pair of Nightwings, and two Skywings and Icewings, and a Rainwing by a pile of fruit.Sahara moved towards the pile of cows and dragged one out. She gestured for Aurora to come over. She started to walk, but then she heard a voice call her name.
Aurora’s head flicked up, ears pricked.”Oy!” she said as something knocked her over head over tail. This ”mysterious object” was the size of a small black dragon. Aurora caught it, rolled across the cave, and dropped it, and then rolled over another time or two before she stopped, landing on her back, panting. All of a sudden, a small black and blue NightWing popped into her peripheral vision, grinning with all his pointy white teeth. “Constellation!” Aurora exclaimed. She tried to flap her wings to roll over and get up, but the ground was uneven, and a part stuck up and separated her shoulder blades, preventing her. ”You want some help?” he asked, extending blue and black talons. “Yes please,” Aurora replied, grabbing it to pull herself up. “Long time no see, eh?” He said. “Long time no see indeed,”she grinned, stretching her neck out, shaking her loosened, plated scales,”Gabriel.” He grinned evan widder. “And you are?” Said Sahara, coming up from around her side, raising her bright cherry red tail barb dangerously. “Oh, this is one of my other best friends, Constellation,” Aurora explained, “Constellation, this is my friend, Sahara.” “Oh. Nice to meet you, Constellation,” Sahara said, relaxing her tail. Constellation nodded and said,” You to.” “Well well well, isn't this a nice friendly reunion,” said a familiar, sly, deep, voice. Aurora froze in place and growled, ”Geo.” “Is he the one you told me about?” Constellation asked with a worried expression. “Unfortunately,” she said through gritted teeth. Geo was a Mudwing with gingerbread claws and spikes, cinnamon wings and underbelly. Here had a hickory head and chocolate color horns. The scales on the wings were a dark syrup. He had a bulky, muscular build, and found it fun to pick on and insult everyone every time they spoke, after he lost his brothers and sisters in the war. Aurora’s lip kept twitching and showing her fangs as she glared at him from under her aqua crest, even though he was a head shorter than her. Aurora reached behind her neck and unclipped her necklace and handed it to Sahara as she said “Hold this.” Constellation exchanged glances with the female Sandwing. Aurora sunk low to walked around the Mudwing, just as one would hunting for prey.
“Thought you said you you had no friends.” Geo smirked. “I did, they just wouldn't associate with someone like you.You came and ruined my life, you left, I made more friends.”Aurora growled, already at his side. They had the attention of several other dragons. Her eyes narrowed as the reflection of golden-red scales momentarily blinding her, but didn't pay attention to them. “I knew when I first met you, you were a little off than anyone else, a little different.” The Mudwing said. She responded with only a growl. She was behind him now, lashing her spiked tail, feeling the old anger and hatred he had brought into her life. Constellation and Sahara both backed up a few steps, knowing that they would probably get hit if that didn't. “I honestly don't know why anyone would associate with you though. Just don’t get why anyone would ever care. You’re a nobody.” That was it. The turning point. The crossing of the line.
