Sometimes it feels like he's two different people. There's the person he wants to be, the person he was raised to be. Focused, brave, ruthless- those are the qualities his mother implanted in him from am early age. And there's the person that lives in the back of his head, the Emil that reminds him to be polite, to be nice whenever possible, to never treat anyone that doesn't deserve it badly. Above all, to have mercy. There's a constant battle happening, where he's conflicted over what the right thing to do would be.

• Background •

Grew up a con man on the coast of Denmark. His mother was, well, usually in the ocean, so nine year old Emil lived and survived with his band of homeless kids. To ear money they lured people into carnivals and as a side gig picked their pockets clean.

He's always loved the beach and the cove, as he grew up sleeping in caves by the sea side. He's never been too fond of flying. Planes and such make him nauseous.

Ursula always did her best though. Even though she wasn't around much, she always taught Emil to keep his head high and remember to never be afraid of anything. Her death hit him pretty hard, although he never stopped to acknowledge it. It's what she would have wanted, in the end. All he's trying to do is make her proud.
