Audrey POV

"Okay! Everyone attention!" Blonde Mal yelled while we were standing on the field.

"What's going on!?" Chad yelled.

"We are going to train you guys in using your powers." Jay explained.

"We don't have any powers!" Lonnie yelled.

"Hey!" Carlos yelled. "Everyone shut up so we can continue!" Everyone quited down and looked at the VKs.

"Thank you." Evie said. "Now, we have small hunches about what powers you may possess. Audrey, please come down here."

I nervously got out of my seat and walked onto the field. "What do you guys need?"

"Try making one of us sleep." Mal instructed.

"What?"

"Try making one of us sleep."

"I can't do that!" I complained.

"Just take out all the anger you have for my mother, and angle it towards me." Mal said. I've never seen such selflessness in a villain, but maybe she was different.

"Mal, I don't want you to go through that. You don't have a true love."

"I'll be fine." Mal assured me. "Just do it."

A little worried, I sent a wave of exhaustion towards Mal and she stumbled, falling on her butt. Ben ran over to her and helped her up.

"Good job Audrey." Mal said, leaning on Ben. "I'm resistant to sleeping curses, so I wasn't all that effected."

"Not all the effected!?" Ben asked, a little enraged. "Mal, you stumbled and fell on the ground!"

"Ben, I'll be fine."

"No! You won't!"

"Ben!" Mal almost yelled. "I'll be fine. Just calm down, okay?"

Ben sighed, still a little angry. "Fine!"

"Thank you." Mal said as she bent down and picked up a stick. "Jane, catch."

Mal threw the stick and Jane caught it. As her hand touched the it, the stick glowed a yellow light until it grew longer and more fancier.

"Did I just turn this stick into a wand?" Jane asked, fiddling with the wand while yellow sparks came out.

"Yeah." Mal said. "You do have magic because of your mom. Maybe I can try to help train you."

"How would you train me?" Jane asked.

"Well, I'm trying to learn good magic, and good magic runs in your veins. We could try to teach each other."

"Oh." Jane said, then looked away.

"Chad, come down here. I have an idea about what you could do, but I want you to try it."

Chad walked down, looking angry at the VKs.

"Try freezing someone in place, like you're freezing time." Mal instructed.

"What?"

"You're mom was all about deadlines, midnight, etcetera, etcetera. So, maybe you could freeze a person in place like you're freezing time."

"Okay." Chad smiled darkly. "Easy."

Instantly, Mal froze in place, along with Ben, who was touching her shoulder, trying to keep her away.

"Good job Chad!" Evie said. "Now try letting time catch up with them is they'll unfreeze."

"Only for Ben." Chad said as Ben unfroze, but not Mal.

"Mal, out of-" Ben said, trying to push Mal back as he realized that Mal was frozen. "What happened to Mal?"

"Chad froze her." Lonnie, Jane, and I said at the same time.

"Chad," Evie gently chided. "I told you to unfreeze BOTH Mal AND Ben!"

"I didn't want to unfreeze Mal." Chad said simply.

Ben rushed towards Chad and lifted him above his head. "I know you have a problem with VKs, but Mal isn't like most VKs. She's kinder. Why do you think she's helping us? So either you unfreeze her, or bad things will happen to you Charming." Ben threatened.

So, after all these years when we finally broke it off, Ben finally fell in love with someone. 'Bout time!

"Okay, okay." Chad said. "Don't go all Beasty on me!" Suddenly, Mal unfroze, looked like she got jerked back, and fell on the ground.

"What the-" Mal said, slightly confused, then looked at Ben. "How did you get from behind me to where Chad was? And how did I get jerked back if you weren't jerking me?"

"Wait," Evie said. "Ben, you were about to jerk Mal back, weren't you?"

"Yeah. So? Big deal. What are you getting at Queen Jr.?" Ben said as Jay stepped in front of Evie.

"Don't call her that." Jay said.

"Why?"

"Because none of us are like our parents. So call her Queen Jr., and you'll have a split lip and possibly a broken arm." Jay threatened as Mal ran in front of the both of them, probably afraid that either Jay would hurt Ben, or that Ben would hurt Jay.

"Okay, everyone, calm down." Mal instructed. "We'll continue tomorrow. Dismissed!"

"She's talking like we're at school." Doug commented quietly to me as we walked away.

"Doug, I think that this is a school." I said as Doug laughed.

"Good point."

Ben rushed ahead of us, glaring at Chad the entire time.

"I'm going to talk to Ben real quick. Tell everyone I'll be there ASAP."

"Okay." Doug walked away as I followed Ben to what looked like an exercise room. Ben was punching a weird bag thing.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked as Ben turned to look at me.

"I'm perfectly fine Audrey." Ben said, still punching the bag. Then he murmured "My crush is probably scared of me, but I'm fine."

"Ben, I know you like Mal-"

"Gee!" Ben said as the bag flew off of the pole it was on and glared at me. "I wonder what gave that away!"

"Let me finish. Mal's not scared of you. She's scared-"

"Of what I can do!"

"Again, let me finish. She's scared of what Jay can do to you. She cares about you, though she may not admit it."

"Yeah right. She's been in the palace her entire life! She's scared of everything, including me!"

"No, she's not. She handles those Gastons perfectly fine on her own. She's just scared of what Jay could do to you."

"She just makes me do things that I can't explain!"

"Because you care about her. I heard this song in the palace one time and one of the lines in a song was hit you like a hurricane. And that's what life does. It likes to hit you like a hurricane. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos came into our lives for a reason. I don't know the reason yet, but it's there. It's just invisible. And when it comes out, it will hit you like a hurricane."

Ben cracked a smile. "Thanks Audrey, for making me feel better."

"You're welcome. Besides, what are friends for?"

"Bribery." Ben joked.

"Now come on. I think Evie and Carlos are going to show us where we're going to be sleeping." I said as Ben followed me out of the room and we caught up with everyone else.

"Okay everyone." Evie said. "Girls are staying here, boys down the hall."

"Come on guys. I'll show you exactly what room." Carlos said, cracking a smile as the boys went down the hall. Evie opened the door and we all fell into the room. It was so pink and flowery that I felt like my eyes were going to explode from all the pink.

"Did prissy princesses stay in this room, or what?" I asked as Evie started laughing.

"What are you laughing at? I think Audrey was being serious." Jane asked.

"Sorry. Inside joke." Evie assured us before leaving us in the room.

"Well," Lonnie said, gesturing to the two beds."We have to figure out sleeping arrangements because I'm not sleeping on the ground."
