Jesse's POV

*Dream*

"No baby don't!! You're making me heart hurt!! You swore when I wore your ring it meant forever! How can you say I lost it! I have it on now! You promised!!" I yell.
"I'm sorry." He says. I don't see his face. Everything is black. I hear myself crying.

*End of Dream*

I wake up crying. I sit up in my bed and rub my fingers through my hair. I listen to the coyotes crying and train rumbling by.

Archer comes in my room.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah. Just a bad dream." I sigh.
"What about?"
"I'm not really for sure. It was all black. I just head me and someone else talking. It was the worst pain I've ever felt." She lays by me.
"Sounds interesting."
"I need to go to someone who can read dreams." I joke.
"I can read dreams. Your dream means you have a date with Dakota this weekend."
"You're joking right?"
"Nope."
"Archer!"
"Be ready Saturday at 5:30."
"Omg! Yeah he's cute but I don't like him." I groan.
"Practice makes perfect." She smirks. I throw my pillow at her.

"What were you two talking about last night?" Mom asked at breakfast.
"Nothing." I said.
"I set Jesse up on a date with Dakota." Archer said.
"Dakota's a good kid." Mom said.
"But I don't like him." I whined.
"Then who do you like?" Archer asked.
"I don't know. No one I guess." I shrugged.
"Just go have fun." Mom told me.
"Whatever."

"1, 1 and a half, 2, 2 and a half, 3, 3 and a half." I'm sitting by my pond. I have Joe tied up to a tree by me.
"What ya think Joe? Am I getting better?" I ask him.
"Yup." Archer came up by me.
"I can't get away from you can I?"
"Nope. I'm that annoying little sister you can't get away from." She smirked.
"Poor Sam." I joked.
"Speaking of boys.....yesterday you said you had the pefect boy in mind. What is the perfect boy?"
"The perfect boy is an auctioneer. He has dark brown hair. He loves hunting, especially bow. He rides horses. And this is stupid but I want a rhinestone cowboy. Like he'll wear suits with rhinestones on them. Not like gay ones. This is dumb to but he loves coconut pie. I'm really good at making those and I make them all the time so my future husband has to love them. Are my standards to high?"
"Maybe a little but you deserve it. I hope you find him." She started to tear up.
"What's wrong Arch?"
"You're going to Alabama next year. I'm gonna miss you."
"I'm gonna miss you too. I'll call everyday and this will always be home." I hugged her.

I'm going to the University of Alabama next year. We live in Stilwell, Oklahoma. So I have to leave my family and friends. It's just a 8 hour drive but still. I'm 18 years old and Archer is 16. She's a junior and I'm a senior. We go to Stilwell High School.

It's just me and the target. I focus on the bullseye. I hold my breath and release. I hit dead center.
"I think Mom and Dad mixed our names up. My names Archer but you're better at archery than me." Archer commented.
"Practice makes perfect. That's what Dad always said."
"I don't have time to practice."
"You don't have time to practice shooting like I don't have to to practice piano." I said shooting again. And again hitting dead center.

Me and Archer both took piano lessons. I can play I just rather be shooting. Archer is the opposite. She loves playing and still takes lessons. She's really good. She has a recital coming up.

I was closer to dad because while Archer was playing piano with Mom I was shooting with Dad. But we knew they loved us both the same.

"What do you think about Mom's boyfriend?" Archer asked me.
"Blake is cool. He lives in Alabama so at least I'll have someone there. His mom's sweet." I answered.
"Yeah. I just hope he doesn't think he's gonna replace Dad." She sighed.
"He won't. He can't."
"Yeah. He's nice to us and he makes Mom happy so..."
"Maybe it'll be good to have another man in our lives. I guess we'll find out." I let go of my last arrow.
"Perfect 50." Archer smiled.
"Did you except anything else?" I walked to the target and pulled my arrows out.
"No not really."

"Jesse! You have mail!" Mom hollered.
"Comin!" I go in the kitchen and take the letter from Mom. It's from the school. I opened it.
"It's my ACT score. If I make a 27 or higher Alabama's gonna give me a full ride." My stomach knots up.
"Read it." Mom urges me.
"Ok." I hold my breath.
"Well?" Archer asked impatiently.
"It gotta a 28!!!!" I scream.
"Atta baby!!!" Archer hugs me.
"Good job sweetie." Mom hugs me.
"I graduate in 8 months. 3 months after that I'm going to Alabama. Bye bye childhood." I sighed.
"You'll be fine." Mom assured me.

Incase you're wondering I'm majoring in law. I'm gonna be an agricultural lawyer.

That night I laid in my bed starring at the ceiling. I can't believe this is happening. It went by so fast. I remember my first day of preschool. Wow. I feel like a just blinked and now I'm fixing to graduate highschool.
