Nightmare's point of view

I have been worrying about the child inspector coming to see if I was good enough for Y/n. I have tried so hard to raise her and feel like I have failed.
I sat in the living room with black tears falling from my sockets as she slept. I didn't want her to see me cry, especially now with the bullies at school. I sat on the couch with my skull in my hands as I let out quiet sobs.
"Dad?" My head shot up and I saw Y/n standing on the stairs. "Why are you crying? Have I done something wrong??"
"No dear daughter. You've done nothing wrong." I said wiping my tears. She walked up to me and hugged me tightly.
I held my most prized possession in my arms as I let a few more tears slide.
"Y/n?" I started. "Do you think I'm a good dad?"
"Of course! You're the best dad ever!!" She said jumping around, causing a small smile to form on my face.
"Good. So I hope you know that no matter what I'm going to keep you safe." I said as she stopped jumping and looked at me with starry eyes.
"My daddy is my hero!!" She called doing a little dance. I got up and spun her around in my arms and we started laughing, but it was interrupted by a knock on the door.
Y/n looked at me with a hint of worry as she was not expecting a guest.
"Is uncle dream coming to visit us again?" She asked tilting her head.
"No dear. This is something daddy has to deal with." I said walking towards the door.
I opened it and saw an older looking woman with glasses, brown hair in a bun and a clipboard.
"Good afternoon. I am Madame Sue. I am here to inspect this child's home." She said with a permanent deadpanned face.
"Y-Yes. Come on in." I said stepping to the side as she entered.
As soon as she walked in she started writing on her clipboard which made my heart beat faster.
I was so worried about loosing my little angel.
"Where is the child's room?" She asked.
"Follow me." I said leading her up the stairs to Y/n's room.
She looked around and looked disgusted.
"This is your child's room?!" She asked rudely.
"Yes it is. Is there a problem?" I said stepping forward.
"Yes! Look at the state of it! There are toys everywhere! You clearly don't know how to discipline your child, so she doesn't clean her room!" She stated.
"And there's dirty laundry on the floor!" She said pointing to one or two pieces of clothing.
"Last time I checked, she's only 7 years old." I stated.
"Yes, well this 7 year old will no longer be in your care. Come along child." She said grabbing Y/n's hand.
"Let go of my daughter!!" I yelled trying to reach my little Y/n.
"You're gonna take me away from my dad?!" Y/n asked clearly shocked as tears dwelled in her eyes.
"Yes. I'm going to give you to a proper family who will show you discipline and show you how to clean your own mess. Now come along." She said pulling Y/n along.
"No!! I don't wanna go with you!! I wanna stay with my dad!" Y/n cried trying to pull away.
Turns out dream was coming over for a visit and heard the commotion inside, so he opened the door and walked in.
"What's going on?!" He said worriedly.
"This witch is taking me away from daddy!!" Y/n said as she was still trying to escape.
"You just let strangers into your house?! That is disgusting! What about her safety?!" The inspector asked glaring at me.
"He's my brother! Now give me my daughter!" I said walking up to Y/n.
"Take another step and I will involve the police." She threatened.
I stopped and looked at Y/n before sighing.
"At least... Let me give her one last hug." I said shamefully.
"Dad!! Don't let her take me!" Y/n cried running to me and throwing herself into my arms.
"Don't worry pumpkin. I'll do all I can so I can have you stay." I whispered.
"Okay daddy. I trust you." She said crying into my shoulder.
"Its time to leave." The evil woman said before taking all the sunshine from my life.

I fell to the ground and I cried as she pulled away in her car.
Dream immediately came to my side and rubbed my back.
"Don't worry brother. I help as much as I can to get her back." He said as more tears fell down my face.
