exit

my eyes felt heavy as i woke from my sleep
i could see the karma police, in their dark blue uniforms, surrounding me
speaking in tongues my ears could never translate

the mountains on the monitor got shorter

the men talked of my flaws,
my paranoia of death
my vulnerability to attention

they seemed as if they toured the many continents of my mind

the distant heights were now poking from the surface

i realised, i didn't have to breathe anymore
a voice crept into my ears saying,
"this is the moment you escape"

the once towering peaks fell flat onto the ground, nowhere to be seen
the monitor yelled in a frenzy

the karma police were gone by now
i watched as doctors tried to push electricity through me
but i couldn't tell them that it wasn't working

out of frustration, i sat up

i didn't understand why they couldn't see me

i left the bed, but no matter how much i screamed in my mind,
it seemed like i had forgotten to talk

or i was invisible

until i saw my vessel lying silent on its pearlescent white grave
