The other officer called out " i'm with squad 42. Christa lenz, sir!" Christa said" Well let's take a look"

"So now we can get actually get in trouble killing Titans?" Two cadets we're talking about the dead titans" Yeah, it's crazy, but they were valuable test subjects" the first one said "I know that.what I don't understand is why they're trying to find the killer among the cadets" the second said "Right, we are worn out enough as it is from cleaning up the battlefield, who'd have the energy?" The first one wondered

"Guess someone hated looking at the damn things more than I did," Remarked Connie quietly. "The sad thing is that they may have helped the Titans more than anything." Armin muttered slowly. "All that knowledge lost and for what, someone's personal revenge? It doesn't make any sense."

"Well it might sound dumb, but I'm glad they did it." Connie said. "Before I'd actually seen a Titan, I was convinced I wanted to be a scout and take 'em all on. Now I never wanna lay eyes on one again. And today, we have to pick what Regiment to join." he was preoccupied with staring at Jean.

As the dead bodies of their comrades burn to crips, Connie grabs his head, sobbing furiously, Jean was standing facing the fire with marco. Just then he spoke "Hey guys, question for you." He asked. Ymir, Krista, Sasha looked up and at him. "So have you decided yet, which Regiment your gonna join? I've made my choice." He started shaking and raised his fisted hand up to his bowed head. He gripped his wrist. "It'll be rough, but,- damn it! I'm gonna join the Scouts!!" He cried before breaking our into shaking sobs. Connie looked up and lowered his hands, while Marco just stared shocked

"Aw hell." Connie said, "Hey Annie? Do you think Jean meant it, he's serious about joining up with the Scouts?"

"Wait! Jean said that?!" Armin asked, bewildered. "Who cares" Annie said coldly "So your sticking with the MP's huh? I'm really starting to think that I'm going that way too." "Tell me something," Annie said. "If someone ordered you to die, would you do it?" "What? Of course not." "Then, my advice is do what's best for you"

"What about you Armin?" Asked Annie. "Oh, ah, I think I might. If the situation truly called for it and I knew my sacrifice might save others. Not that I'd want too." Armin said quietly "So, you've decided then?"

"I've planned to join the Scouts from the beginning."

"Come on, not you too Armin!" Connie said disbelievingly. "I'm impressed. For a mouse you've got guts, I'll give you that," Annie said softly "Well, thanks, I guess. You know, I'm beginning to suspect that you care more then you let on" armin said " huh?" She turned to him confused "It's just, the way your trying to discourage us from the Scouts, your looking out for us. Is that why your joining the MP's? To try to do some good there too?"

"No. Not really. I just want to live. The only person I'm looking out for is myself." Secretly, she was thinking about someone

" just let Latina know I said hi....." she says not staring their direction ' she does care...' he thought

Everyone in Levi's Squad was back at the castle except for Levi, who was on his way back, "After that whole inspection, they didn't turn up one person who use the 0DMgear without permission" Gunther explains" So who could have done it?..."  he wondered

" Beats me.and right now, I am more concerned with the recruitment drive tonight"Eld said, taking a sip from his cup "How many cadets are crazy enough to join the regiment with the highest casualties"Gunther looks up from his legs to see Eren and drake feeding their horses at the stables,

"Hey, Eren! Hey, drake! You know if anyone in your class is thinking about joining us?"eren nodded "Yeah, there's a few... Or, at least, there were, I am really not so sure now" Eren sighs sadly. Drake places his bucket down, sadly thinking about his friends that died in trost

" okay, there has been something I've been wondering, what's in that box the others are messing with right now?" Eren asked drake, Currently Latina, grayson, and Lizzy were standing around a box, expect Grayson he sat on the floor

  " oh, apparently cousin Donna sent something to latina to help her with a her powers, It almost went off during camp before but we managed to suppress it, but we're not taking risk, so...yeah, Let's go see" he said walking towards them

" what's in the box?" Eren asked, they looked and saw...

They all turned towards Grayson, hoping he might have answers" it's a household vessel, this one specifically is used to help control your fire power" Grayson clarified towards Latina

" so how should I put it on? They kinda looks like shackles, Do I put them on my ankle or my wrists?" She asked, Grayson inspected the note he had found inside " its doesn't say" he said " dammit Donna!" The redhead grit her teeth " this is her revenge for when I made her refer to herself as old I bet" she grumbled

" hey your fault" Grayson snickered " don't forget Grayson, we are out of the cells" she reminded " let's just get back to figuring out how to use these" lizzy said defusing the situation

" yeah I'm not taking responsibility if you destroy the whole building" Drake deadpanned " try putting them on your ankles" Zane gave an idea " okay, hope this is right, if not I'm kicking donna's butt, regardless if she's an adult" Latina sighed, She took her boots off and wore the household vessel, holding on leg up while staring down unsurely

" oh crap" the ducked behind the stairs slightly near the bushes " alright, hiya!" Latina kicked her legs forward with a small battle cry, but the chains that were connected to the household vessel... accidentally wrapped around Grayson's head " gahh!" pulling him to the ground

" opps...um...." the redhead sweatdropped " you okay Grayson?" She chuckled

" I hate you" he mumbled, the others couldn't take it anymore and started laughing ( this includes Eld and Gunter) " okay, lest try it the other way, wrists next" drake said, catching his breath from all the laughter " yeah, and Can I have a bandage please?" Grayson grumbled

Latina put her boots back on, and was now wearing them on the shackles on wrists " honestly, that looks right actually" eren says, while lizzy bandaged Grayson head " this better be it, because if it's not, I'm not gonna be around when she's using them on her ankles" Grayson said, still clearly not happy that he ended up a victim

"Fall in!" They turn to see Levi on his horse, rushing his words to his group, " make ready, People! We are going on patrol"They nod, "yes Sir!" Latina, Eren and the gang rush over and salute, "Good morning, Captain! Reporting for duty" Eren greeted, "Eren. Latina. You will Stay within 10 meteres of me at all times, The only reason that you're out of your cells is because I'm keeping an eye on you, understood?" 

"yes Sir!"

" the rest of you go follow The squad, Let's ride."  Levi then gallops away as Sarah rushes over to her horse, "You heard him, let's go!" She then plops herself on her horse and galloped away with Eren trailing behind with the rest. 

Everyone was now galloping in silence, thinking on how many people would join the Survey Corps after the whole Trost incident.

Meanwhile

The Cadets were gathered at the graduation ceremony, Annie, Armin, Sasha, Marco and Connie leaning against the wall. Jean walked up to them. "Jean!" Exclaimed Armin. "Your really set on the Scouts?" "Yeah,"

"Woah, are you serious!" Asked Sasha. She did a double take and said quieter "I mean, aren't you terrified?"

"Huh? Of course I'm scared, I'm not an idiot here!" He said "Uh, then why are you...-?" "Because I am scared of the titans and I wanna do something about it! Look, I understand that joint the Scouts isn't for everybody, I won't guilt trip you, unlike a certain suicidal maniac." He said referring to eren "eren....I guess he and the others have already been Scouts for a while haven't they," Connie remarked

" I wonder if their okay" Marco said sadly, he remembered back in trost he almost died, if zane hadn't found him in time. "Cadets! Fall in!! Head over blackboard, time to make your choice!" A soldier ordered. "At the end of the day, there's nothing that anyone could say that could persuade you into risking your life. Same goes for me, and I say this decision is all mine." Jean said before marching off

in front, on the platform Erwin stood in the middle of. "Good evening. I am Erwin Smith, Commander of the Survey Corps. Today you will choose your regiment; let's cut to the chase here- the Survey Corps needs you. We need all the warm bodies we can get. After the recent Titan attack, you now know first hand the horrors of which they are capable; as well as the limits of your own skill.

"However, its battle's aftermath gave humanity a new chance at victory. I refer to Eren Yeager. After selflessly risking life and limb, he has proven beyond a doubt his unwavering loyalty to our cause along with his friends. Hope lives in them. They didn't just help to deter the Titan invasion; they offered us a means to discern the truth of their origin," Erwin announces, making everyone gasp around.

"Intel suggests that the basement of Yeager's home in Shiganshina holds a vital secret regarding our enemy. We will form an expedition to find this secret. We'll find it and use it to break free from the Titan's tyrannical, hundred-year reign once and for all!"

" the cellar huh?" Reiner muttered 'I know the scouts desperately need recruits, but going public with this is out of line! Maybe it's a ploy, a covert strategy? Question is if he's baiting the hook, who does he intend to catch?' Armin wondered

"Before we can reach the aforementioned basement in Shiganshina, another problem must be dealt with- we must first retake Wall Maria. Of course, this is much easier said than done," he states, and Mike and Petra walk out and hold up a map showing the plans. "Now that the gate at Trost has been rendered inaccessible, we'll be forced to stage future operations from the Karanes District further east." Mike and Petra roll the map back up and step off to the side of the stage, so they're hidden from sight. "Thus the battalion route we've spent the last four years establishing is now completely useless to us. Over the course of those four years, we've incurred losses in excess of over sixty percent. Sixty percent in four years. That's a horrifying figure. "One month from now, we will conduct an expedition outside the walls. Recruits from among your ranks will be expected to take part. I estimate a third of them will die. But with our new allies that might change, After four years, most will be dead, but those who endure will be amongst the most capable soldiers alive. "Now, having heard this dismal state of affairs, whoever still wishes to put their life on the line and join us- remain here. But first ask yourself- can you give your hearts? Can you give everything for humanity?! That is all. Those wanting to join other regiments are dismissed"

People begin to talk to one another, debating if they should stay are leave "Commander," A Soldier said nervously. "I think you might have over intimated to Cadets Sir. None of them are gonna stick around!"And just like that, most of the crowd started to walk off, including Annie. Eventually, almost everyone left except for Jean, Marco, Reiner, Bertolt, Christa, Ymir, Sasha, Connie, Armin, and Mikasa and a few other people ' damnit! C,mon, I've already decided! Stop making me feel like such a fool' jean exclaimed in thought' if I don't leave now, I'll have to go through it all again!' Sasha panicked 'I left my village.the MPs was the whole point.I wanted mum to be proud.I wanted to be treated right.everyone respects them.period.' Connie thought ' I wanted to work at the side of the king...' followed by Marco

' but there's no going back.not after you've seen it'

jean, Marco, Connie, Reiner, Bertolt, Sasha, Mikasa, Armin, Christa and Ymir stood, all with the same pressured and worried expression, dense or faint, it was still there.

Finally 17 remained in front of commander Erwin."I ask you, if you were ordered to die would you do it?"

"We don't want to die, Sir!" A soldier called out "Of course," Nodded Erwin. "Let us hope that you don't then. You who stayed, you are now one of us. Allow me to welcome you to the Scout Regiment. This is a genuine salute soldiers! Together we give our hearts!!"everyone did the salute, the sound echoing. Left hand against our back and right hand diagonally on the chest, fisted hand over their hearts."SIR!"

"Everyone-" Armin muttered"-Joined the Scouts, this is so stupid!" Jean said"This is scary! I just wanna go home!" Sasha squealed, eyes wide."Oh man, what the hell!" Connie murmured

christa was crying softly."If your gonna keep crying then don't stay," Ymir said roughly."Those of you standing here have worked through your fear. You have proven yourselves courageous. Each one of you has my respect!"

" I only have one last thing left to say, incase any of you are friends with the cadets with the supernatural powers, and I'm sure you've been wondering how they achieve them... truth is it was not by choice" this made so many eyes widen " the rumours of the missing children's case, if anyone of you has heard the rumours, they were Victim's to painful experimentation, but were successfully rescued, but not at all normal anymore, the powers remained stuck to them, I'm sure you understand why they hid this from you, maybe your different from others, but sometimes fear can take hold of a person, even if you know that person to be very brave, secretly their fear something deep down, one of which to be hated by someone they've gotten close with " he finished, a certain woman just happened to be behind a wall watching him walk away, she placed a hand over her heart, when someone first found out about what she was, they immediately called her a monster, but when she met him, he was different, or rather his reaction to her, He was welcomed her

' deep down...they've been suffering?...' their individual friends thought in shock ' I....I have to talk to her!' Jean thought

At HQ ( I don't know what time, maybe after eren and the gang left)

the rest of our group when we reach the stables filled with horses. "Attention!" a man with brown hair covered by a white bandanna says and pets the brown horse beside him. "I am Team Leader Dita Ness and this girl is my horse, Charette. Fair warning, Charette is rather partial to pulling hair, so I'd watch out if you don't wanna go bald. We're glad to meet you." As soon as he said that, his horse turned and started chewing at his hair and yanking" hey! stop that you freak! Can I get a hand here, you guys?!"

Our training began in earnest the next day.however, the lessons were very combat oriented, with an emphasis on memorising commander erwin's Long range scouting formation.despite being such a precisely detailed meticulously calculated form, eren jaeger position was somewhat less than clear

"You rookies will be here," Ness announces and taps the map at our location. "Between the Wagon Defense Squad and the Scout Support Squad. You will run spare horses as well as relay signals." Armin starts taking notes

Meanwhile

"our special-ops squad'll be Positioned here, on standby.behind the centre rank." Gunther explains, pointing at the map the commander had draw "That's quite far back." Drake says as he continues, "It's the safest position in the formation, the supply wagons don't even get such fine treatment, I will go this time around is to simply leave, then come back today's expedition will serve as a sort of test run.to see if we've got a shot at getting you all the way to shinganshina" Eren shifts in his spot, fumbling with his fingers,"Understood.either way, I still don't really know how to use my ability or if I can even control it."

"Eren. Do you understand what the commander was asking you and the others about back then?" Gunter asked, Eren furrows with his brows, confused,

"Who do you think the real enemy is here?"

"What did he mean by that? What do you guys think?." Eren asked "Not a clue." Eld says, he looks to,Petra, who shakes her head, then at Grayson who shrugs, Oluo started, "well, If i Told you that I knew what he meant, I'd be lying to you, that said I—"But he gets interrupted, "It's entirely feasible, that this operation has an ultimate goal, and yet the commander has decided its best To withhold it from the rank and file.if that's the case, leaving and coming back is all we need to concern ourselves with.Have faith in the commander" With that, Gunther stands and walks off." I will" eren nodded

Everyone gets on their horses and gallops back to the castle. Eren and the group finished cleaning and walks out off the stable to see the recruits, drakes eyes widened when he saw mikasa and armin " guys look!" They too we're surprised " they're here!" Grayson cheered " woah. I don't believe it! Oluo! May we be excused to to talk to her friends for a minute?" Eren asked "Fine.just don't take too long" he said, the others except two rushed over

Lizzy looked at her sister and noticed her upset, she places a hand on her sisters shoulder, the girl sighs and walks back inside, lizzy following behind "Latina!"

"Hey mikasa! Armin!" They stop at the sound of their voices. Armin turns around with happiness while Mikasa turns in worry" eren! Guys!"

"Man are we glad to see you guys!"Mikasa's eyes widen, and she grabs one of his hands and forces him to look at her. "Eren, Have they mistreated you and the others in any way? Like subjecting you to any cruel experiments? Or some sort of mental anguish?" she asks with extreme worry

."No, not at all," Eren reassures her, and a dark look crosses her face."That pipsqueak took things way too far. I will make him pay for it one day."

"Hold on, you mean Captain Levi?" Eren asks with a frown, meanwhile he was watching from afar, with an unamused look

"Hey, Eren! Drake! Zane! Grayson!" Connie called."Long time no see!" Yelled Sasha. Reiner, Bertholt, Ymir and Christa were present too" Oh, hey guys. You're all here! Woah, wait, if all of you here then does that mean, you're saying that you guys all joined the Scouts?!" Zane exclaimed in surprise

"Well, yeah, why else would we be here?" Connie raises an eyebrow in amusement

" Grayson, what happened to your head?" Armin asked, pointing towards his bandage

The blond boy glared at drake and zane, who looked like they were about to break " don't even think about it..." he warned

" did Grayson become the new clumsy?" Connie asked with a smirk " oh my god yes!" Drake laughed out loud clapping  " don't you dare change the subject" the Other blonde grumbled, making the group laugh " Of course, so then Jean, Annie, and Marco went to the Military Police?" Eren asked, drake spot Jean and Marco approaching from behind. " eren, Turn around," he tell Eren, and he does.He gasps at the sight of the two guys. "Wait a sec- you both joined too?!"

"Yeah, after Trost we both realized that we'd be more useful in the Survey Corps," Marco smiles kindly."Though Annie went MP," he finished, eren frowns but nods " mikasa looked around and noticed someone missing " where's Latina?" She asked concerned

" yeah where is she?" Marco asked, the others turned back to find her not with them " she was right behind us" drake said

"Lizzys gone too " Zane points out loud " who's Lizzy?" Connie questioned

" oh, right you guys don't know, she's Latina's little sister" drake explained, their eyes widened

" she has a sister?!" The others exclaimed " ill explain later-" before drake could finish " All right, rookies, form up! Your uniforms are here!" Ness announces beside a man with blond hair parted down the middle that contains some of it in a bun. He holds a pile of green cloaks

Time skip

"So then, you guys are really..." Eren trails off, and Mikasa nods."Yes, we will be in the upcoming expedition as well," she tells him."Hey, Eren," Jean calls out from beside Armin. "I heard that while you were in your Titan form you intentionally tried to crush drake, Mikasa and violet, Mind telling us what that's all about?"Eren gasps and Mikasa frowns. "You're wrong," she states. "He thought he was just swatting a fly, nothing else."

" I wasn't asking you. Oh, by the way, that cut on your cheek looks pretty deep. Just how did you get that again?"Mikasa hides the cut behind her hair . " and what about your head" he looked towards drake, who turned his head " don't bring me into this, I ain't hold a grudge" he mumbled

Eren looks down sadly. "Apparently it's all true. When I was a Titan, I-I tried to kill drake, violet and Mikasa..."

he whispers."Apparently? As in you don't remember whether you did or not? So basically you can transform into a fourteen-meter monster-"

"Fifteen," Grayson correct, jean sends him a slightly annoyed look before turning back to Eren. "So you can turn into a fifteen-meter Titan at will, but when you do, you don't actually have full control?"Eren's face turns serious. "Not yet, but that's right," he states.

Jean closes his eyes and sighs before looking at the rest of their friends who stand behind him. "Do you hear that, everyone? What a fine situation this is. Our lives and the fate of all mankind rest on his shoulders and the gangs. I'm guessing we'll all probably end up dead well before Eren even knows it."

"Stop it, what's the point of characterising him now? Just give it a rest!" Mikasa spat.

"Listen Mikasa, unlike you, most of the rest of us aren't just willing to throw our lives away for him on a whim" she glared at him when he turned to her "We need a reason, the truth, what we're laying out lives down for. Otherwise, we might hesitate when the time is at hand. What we want, is a guarantee from Eren. Show us what you're worth. Prove it to us. We're asking you to make us believe that you're worth dying for." Jean stalked over to Eren and grabbed his shoulders, surprising him. "You think you can do that!? If you can, then we're with you, all the way." He said with a nervous look

" right..." he nodded

" now if you excuse me, I have a certain someone I need to find" he said walking off " don't tell me he's gonna fight with her" drake says worried " no, he's not" Marco said " then why is he-" " he has something he wasn't able to tell her before, he's just getting it off his chest" Marco explained " im surprised him along with the rest of you slander us... For keeping the power is a secret" drake muttered

" hey man...we know what happened to you guys...commander Erwin said...when we heard what happened...loads of us were shocked...sorry you guys went through with that" Connie said sympathetically

" yeah we totally get it..." Reiner adds as bertholt nods " just...how much did red Endure?" Ymir asked, the three hung their heads low " more than any of the other kids... including us" they all looked down with Sympathetic

while the others were talking, Zane noticed lizzy sitting in one of the crates afar facing the wall while hugging her knees " there's lizzy" he said catching the groups attention " lizzy!" She heard and turned flush with embarrassment

" come meet everyone!" she just turned her head back towards the wall " dude, you've already forgotten, she's shy remember" Grayson reminded, drake walked over to her " don't worry, they'll like you, just like zane and eren did" he reassured, he lent out his hand for her too take, she hesitated, but took it and drake guided her over " guys this is lizzy, Latina's little sister" drake introduced, lizzy was shocked when the others started talking to her and introducing themselves, it had been in so long, since she could smile

Meanwhile

Latina was walking along the corridors, still thinking about the expedition, and how was she supposed to face her friends, she turn her attention to her household vessel that she was still wearing around her wrists, just then she bumped into someone, just as she was about to hit the floor, an hadn't caught her arm and pulled them towards them

" usually it's best to watch where your going, Latina " they said, helping her up, her eyes widened in shock at the familiar voice, then the familiar face, jean "jean...Your...your here...but I thought" before she could finished, she gasped when he pulled her toward him, clenching onto her like he was afraid he was gonna lose her again

" I don't hate you okay!...just don't keep anymore secrets! tell us when your hurting damnit!" He exclaimed who holding in his sadness

" but what are you...-" she says in disbelief

"I know what happened you! You didn't deserve it! Any of it! Neither did the others! If I ever see any of those bastards that hurt you I'll kill Them!" He yelled, her eyes widened in shock, tears stared to build up, she couldn't take it anymore and just let out her pain " I'm..I'm sorry!..." she sobbed " just please stop hiding now! We've missed you! Come and hang with us before the expedition!" He pullled her back to the others

They were now back in the room full of crates, a certain potato girl was the first one to notice " Latina!" Catching the others attention, she pushed past and jumped at the girl accidentally knocking her over

" woah!" And crashing on the ground " Sasha...good. to see you too" she groaned "hands off potato girl! Your crushing her!" Ymir stopped over and pulled said girl of violet and hugging her " Latina!" Christa rushed over and hugging her too, almost knocking her and Ymir over

" you guys joined the scouts too" she asked bewildered while hugging her friends " course, why wouldn't we be here?" Connie asked in amusement

" we missed you" Marco said smiling

" we know the truth, you don't need to hide it anymore" Sasha assured

" I...thank you..." she smiles

" by the way" the group stared towards Reiner " Seriously though how did Grayson get hurt?" He asked with a smirk

" oh my god! Stop bringing up that subject goddamnit!" Said boy yelled " come on guys, don't fight" bertholt tried to calm things down with a small smile

" that was actually my fault, although he should've moved out of the way" Latina smiled sheepishly

" don't act all innocent, " he growled " try me, ill kick your butt in front of everyone" Latina smirked in a fighting position, with her fists out

He hesitated for a moment, fists ready before pointing at her" i'm faster" he countered "  back at you, plus I'm stronger, and I'm a bit smarter than you" she grinned cheekily

" you!" He growled, before he could tackle her zane grabbed him and held him back, the others couldn't take it anymore and started laughing " Basically Latina was testing the new gear she was given by our cousin, but we didn't know how she was supposed to present it, so she wore them on her ankles first... When she attempted to use it chains connected caught Grayson by the head and pulled him to the ground" zane explained while still laughing" Zane that's it! I'm gonna kick your butt!" Grayson howled, trying to grab wiggle out of his arms, only causing harder laughter for everyone

After dinner everyone left the mess hall and went to their sleeping quarters, Latina was now sharing with Mikasa, Zane with Connie, lizzy with sasha, poor Grayson with Reiner, getting teased about being beaten by a girl which he counter when Annie flipped him, and drake with Berthold,

Next day

the city bells ring out as the Survey Corps get ready to depart, "Commander, the time approaches ." A soldier mutters, turning his body, and screams, "Titans in the vicinity have been lured away! Gates open in 30 seconds!" Latina and Eren stare in front of themselves, determined looks plastered on their face.

They then hear gasps coming from their left. Curious, they look over to see two young children, a little girl and a little boy, gazing and admiring them, "Awesome it's the scouts!" The little girl gawks as her brother adds, "see that symbol? They call it the wings of freedom!"

"So Cool!"The two send them warm smiles before turning back at the sound of a soldier's voice announcing

"This is it! The day has come for Humanity to take another step forward! Now let's show those Titans exactly what we're made of!"
