Eren ran full speed towards the Colossal Titan, it raised its arm tried to attack him. Thankfully, he jumps on time and attaches himself on the Titan's back.'son of a bitch! He took out the cannons! The gate was no accident then. He--he planned it. He has intelligence!' meanwhile latina stood their trembling

' why?....why cant I move....if I don't then...he'll die...' she continued to watch the fight, The Colossal Titan gradually turns his head and goes to grab Eren, but he dodges and flies onto its body, 'all the more reason not to waste this moment!' He then sprints up on his arm while the Titan slowly moves it, 'without him, the other titans have nothing! I've got to take him down!'

He jumps down and then flies up when he latches onto its nape. He brings his blades up and goes in to cut it" take this!" but he gets hit in the face with steam pushing him away, Latina gasped ' move!' She immediately runs forward, jumps up and launches her hooks on the nape, before eren was blown away, her hand locked with his " l-Latina?!" He exclaimed " hang on!"she yelled " Take him out before I loose my grip!" He nodded, she flung him upwards, before the steams pressure pushed her away, making her hooks fly out of the Titans back, Latina grunted but launched her hooks again towards the wall

Eren swoops down, raising his blades again and swings" ahhhhh!"but to find out that it had vanished.Eren gasps, 'how did I miss?' He then realizes he was descending and latches himself against the wall before he fell

The steam cleared, he looked everywhere, but alas, the titan had disappeared 'what the—? Did you vanish into thin air' the two looked and saw the footprints it had left behind, but only two, no others ' but how did it escape?!' Latina stared in shock

"Latina are you okay?" Eren quickly asks booking onto the wall newt to her " y-yeah I, fine..."

"Eren! Latina! Where'd he go? Did he get away or'd you two take him out?"Thomas yelled from the top wall, "he's gone! Exactly like five years ago." Eren stared towards the hole and foot prints " he's here one moment and gone the next; just like that"

The two climbed back up the wall, where Thomas and Connie were, Connie looked down while the three talked " we're sorry- we" Thomas cut him off " don't apologise. Look at us. We were too scared to move"

"Hey! Wallow on your own time! In case you hadn't noticed. There's a breach. We have to act now! If they start pouring in, that's it!" Connie exclaimed, " look alive!" They turn to see a Garrison member zip up to them, "Operation colossal titan response is in effect, I expect you to take part! Report to HQ!" The four saluted, another garrison member joined " if you got close to the damn thing, we need details!" The same member said, the four sweatdropping intensely

" sir!" Eren said

"sir! We pray the advance team will be victorious!"As they run past the four, Latina turned her eyes towards Eren and Noticed he was still staring forward, glaring

Soon the bells rang throughout the city, many citizens ran for their lives. A little girl cried as she dropped her doll "pare down! Take only what you need to survive!"A Garrison member instructs the crowd

At the gate, members had protected and tried to prevent the Titans from entering, " you understand what we're facing, if they get through, well have a repeat of five years ago. Consider this the last line of defence! The titans get held of here or nowhere!"

The Garrison members began loading the cannons, then aiming them towards the titans heading towards the wall, "Prepare to intercept!" They cover their ears and ordered, "Fire!"The cannons get fired as some hit the Titans

"soldiers charge!" The leader says, and they all jump into action.

Meanwhile

At the HQ, one of the leader tells the newest recruits, "Out of the frying pan and into the fire, cadets! Time to put your training to work! I have Faith each of you will be a credit to your regiment!" He exclaims as everyone goes to grab gas cans and extra blades.The couple from earlier reassure each other, "I promise we'll get through this, your safe as long as I'm beside you." She gives him a sad smile, "Franz..." They then hug each other, mikasa rushed in and noticed, She looks around, desperate for her friends 'till she heard latina's voice, "Armin are you okay?" She turned and saw them, eren, Latina, drake, Grayson and zane, and armin, He was shaking uncontrollably, still trying to transfer gas in his container, but struggling to keep still

"i- don't worry, I'm fine, just give me a second for my nerves to settle, this is bad, isn't it? There's a hole in the wall eight meters wide and we don't even remotely have the engineering- know-how to plug it, that huge bolder near the front gate was our best bet, but we couldn't figure out how to hoist it in place.unless we seal the breach, the entire city's a as good as dead!"

Back outside

The garrison continued shooting down titans, but even when their legs got shot off, they continued their way towards the wall "how long do you think before they take wall rose? Seriously how long?! Think about it! Any time the mood strikes them, they can wipe out the human race in an afternoon!"

"Armin!" Eren grabs his arm, "listen to me. Your Forcused on the past. look ahead, we're not gonna be the victims anymore!" Armin stares down at the ground, still shaking, "S-Sorry, I - -I'm okay..."As for Wall Rose right now, the Titans started coming in, killing and eating half of the Garrison members that were on their way

Time skip

" I want everyone split into four squadrons As practised, all squadrons are responsible for supply running, message relay and enemy combat, Under the command of the garrison regiment! The interceptor squadron will be taking the Vanguard! Cadets will be taking the middle God, led by the support squad.rearguard will go to the elites! but I expect you all to man your posts, Knowing the advanced team has been wiped out!" People gasp when they heard  this, "That's right the other gate is history the Titans are in this means the armoured Titan is likely to reappear, if and when he does, the inner gate will also be history!" People started whispering

"Is this real?" Daz asked

"Please be a dream" samual begged

"God what if the bastards manage to bust through wall rose?" Thomas questioned

"Quiet!" The commander yelled "Right! Those in the Vanguard, be ready! The whole area is well- nigh saturated. Your mission is a very simple one defend the wall till the evacuation is done! Now be aware all of you that desertion is punishable by execution!" People gasped when they heard this' this guys nuts, we're dead either way!' Latina frowned "If it comes to it, lay down your lives! Dissmissed!"

" sir!" Everyone Quickly ran yo get ready for battle. Jean holds his head in shock, " why'd this have to happen now? Just one more day and I have been heading for the interior!" Jean looks over to his right to see daz throwing up, and Christa trying to comfort him, "you gonna be alright?" She asked, He looks up at her but goes back down to puke more

Jean stands up and walks off, looking at all the scared soldiers" please no, please no, please no" one girl prayed in distress, He continues to walk when he accidentally bumps into Eren. He just gives him a look and pushes him aside, "move it!" Eren returns one back and grabs his arm, "What the hell man? What's wrong with you?"

"What kind of question is that? We're all about to be titan chow, you expect me to sing you a happy little song?!" Jean grabs the collar of his shirt while Mikasa, Latina and the gang, apart from armin just so happen to walk around to see this. They spot him to their left while Jean just continued screaming at him, "You're loving this aren't you you little psycho! Course you are! Your whole life aspiration is to be eaten!"

The group quickly walked over to them, " I was one day shy of shipping off to the MP!"

" jean knock it off! Nows not the time!" Drake yelled, took his arm off eren, but then got his collar grabbed " no! Not all of us are suicidal!" Jean shouted " dammit shut up for a second!" Eren suddenly goes and pins jean against one of the buildings pillars, losing his grip on drakes collar " we are trained for this! What do you think the last three years were about?!" Eren exclaimed

"We survived. We stared death in the face and we lived. Not everyone can say that, can they? Some people couldn't take it and either run or were thrown out. Hell some people actually died but not us! Am I right? We powered through for three years! What's one more day?" The two people jean past actually heard this " you can do this, jean, alright? The MP will still be waiting for you tomorrow" He lets go of him, leaving Jean shocked. He grinds his teeth together and mutters, "sh!t!" He then walks off, "On your feet daz! Stop bawling!"

Mikasa looks over at Eren then walked over, "Eren. If things take a turn for the worse, I want you to come find me, or the others alright?" She asks "what? We're in completely different squads!" He remarks

" Look this is gonna get ugly and when it does the plan goes out the window. Come and find me so I can protect you." She says, "Who the hell do you think you are? " he glared

"akermann. Sanders. You two are with me, you've both have been assigned to the rear guard in special orders." A Garrison member stated " let's get moving" but Mikasa objects, "But, sir! I'm a cadet! I'll slow everyone down!" Eren shoots his head over to mikasa in surprise " what?"

"You're not being asked for a self-evaluation here, the mass exodus is falling apart, we need as many elite soldiers as possible to get things back on track"

"Sir! With all due re—!" "hey!"Eren yelled, making the others jump at his outburst, "you've been given a direct order! Pull it together now! This is bigger than the two of us and you know it! We are on the verge of extinction here.have some dumb perspective!" He yelled, this surprised everyone, mikasa's eyes then became glossy ane she looked at the ground, "You're right I'm sorry. This whole situation just had me out of my head." before eren was about to walk away, she tugged on his arm" just promise- -Promise me one thing. whatever happens don't get yourself killed." He tugged his arm back and walked away, leaving her and the group surprised by his actions

'I hadn't planned on it. Thanks. no, I won't allow myself to get killed.'Eren was now with his group, which included Armin, Thomas, and Mina, they were wait on the Titans ' not until IT is what life is like outside of this godforsaken walls'

Eren then remembered something from training.

Flashback

" Titans aren't motivated by hunger as such.there is simply in its for the kill.the terrifying vitality of these creatures is beyond scientific dispute, we have only to consider events of the recent past to see this"

"Mankind has long possessed cannon technology as you're aware.that alone proved tragically in sufficient, even with the head blown to bits the Titans persist.though there is some variability on this score, a Titans head usually were generated within two minutes"

"Is that true?" Thomas whispered" as if the size wasn't frightening enough" Samuel said, Marco then raised his hand " excuse me sir.are you basically saying that the Titans are immortal?"he asked " no I'm not.there is, in fact one way to ensure death" he drew the image of a titan facing backwards".strike here" he drew a circle around the nape of its neck

"if the back of the neck takes adequate damage, a titan will not regenerate, this is the chink in proverbial armor." He then turned his attention to the two swords on the table " that, as you may have surmised is where the flash paring bladesYou see here come in.A, deep strike with one of these to a Titans weak spot, and the monster is left no time to regenerate.they die and stay dead"

Flashback end

Eren turned his attention towards Armin, who stares directly at the smoke, "look at it this way armin"He slowly removes his eyes away from the scene and turns to his friend, "it's a golden opportunity. I mean if we prove our worth of soldiers right here, will rise right through the ranks, before long we could even be leading our own regiment, we can bypass rookie status together!" He gives him a grin as Armin looked surprised a bit, but he grins back at him, "Sounds good, I'm with you all the way!"

" now now boys.you're not the only ones in your, save some glory for the rest of us!" Mina smirks, putting her right hand on her hip "Good luck be in us to the punch a second time, eren no head start for you this round!" Thomas adds

"Is that a challenge?"eren asked smirking, Thomas gives them a smug look " listen up. Whoever kills the most Titans get bragging rights!" Eren chuckles, "better not fudge your scores!" But then, two Garrison members shout over at them, "Squadron 34, move out! the vanguard needs surport!" Eren gives a look then turns to the group, "Right! give en hell!"

"Yeah!"They all zip past loads of houses and soldiers while running across roofs. Eren looks to his right to see the Titans bombarding everything in their path, desperately looking for any humans to maul on, "There's so many of them?" Mina.exclaimed " The vanguards been completely overwhelmed!" Thomas says " I don't believe this. Those guys always talk so big!" Samual adds

' I thought things would be hairy, but this... This is insane!' Eren then gasps and warns, "We've got an abnormal! Hold up!" The Titan leaps at them, but luckily they all made escaped, except for one. Armin lands on the roof with a grunt as Eren holds onto the ledge.The Titan stands there for a few moments and reveals his head, Thomas Wagner in his mouth. Thomas stares at the group with fright, as they stare back at him as well. " oh my god.,please. help meThe Titan's mouth starts to shift as Thomas sobs. The mouth closes and then swallows Thomas, ending his life.The group just turns pale, as their friend had been eaten by a Titan. Eren grinds his teeth together and screams, "you bastard" He lets go of the ledge and zooms away from the group, enraged, "Eren!" Armin calls.The group run after him and try to catch up, "Wait! Stay with the group!" Milieus yelled, But Eren was too far ahead of them to hear, "Get back here! You're gonna pay for killing my friend!" As Eren raises his blades to avenge his comrade " your not getting away, your not getting away!" a Titan jumps up and bites his leg off, causing him to roll on the roof, unconscious. Armin lands at the opposite side of the roof and shrieks at his friend, "Eren!"Mina widens her eyes with worry, "oh god no!" A Titan walks by and grab's the soldier beside her, blood spewing everywhere. She turns and gasps, not knowing a Titan had grabbed her gear and pulled her to the ground. She gets hit against a pillar, knocking all the air out of her lungs as the Titan stares down at her.

Soon, many others in the squad get captured by Titans. Armin watches in fear while Milieus screams in agony, "Don't! Please stop I don't wanna die!"

CRUNCH!

He's gone. Armin kneels down on his knees, looking at Eren from afar. His leg is bleeding horribly and blood is trailing down his forehead.'Why... why?...my friends are being devoured... and all I can do is watch... ?'He asks himself that while the ground vibrates. He blinks and looks in the corner of his eye to see a Titan. It picks him up and hangs Armin above its mouth. He tries to fight against its grasp, but he can't.'What's wrong with me?... why can't I move..?'The Titan then drops Armin into its mouth, causing him to finally react and scream in help. Eren hears his cry and meekly speaks, "no..Armin..." he then remembered something about armin

Flashback

"Eren! Eren!" Armin speeds his way to his friend, who was stare up at the sunset. , "Why you shouting?" He blurts out, can be heard in his voice, "Sorry thought I found a book my grandpa keeps in an away! Believe it or not it's about the outside!"his attention grew " I really hope this is your idea of a joke.that's about the outside world is illegal butseriously should go to jail for that"

"Trust me, you'd change your mind if you knew what was actually out there! For your support according to this book, most of the world is covered with salt water so deep you can't reach the bottom! There's a name for it, too! They call it "the sea!"

"Like, salty for real? Cmon your making it up,It's something valuable like so was just hoovering around underwater, merchants would have stopped it out years ago!" Eren reminded"That's the thing! The sea never runs out! It's that big!" Armin exclaims

"Yeah, whatever" Eren didn't believe it"!Just bare with me; there's a lot more than salt, what are they glows like a fire, fields of ice, giant rocks that take days to climb, imagine how huge the outside world must be!" Armin explained, Eren was intrigued"It does sound really neat"

"Okay you've got to promise on your life not to tell anyone. Put my parents are, Uh— well they're going to sneak outside the walls to see for them self"

"They'll know what it's like firsthand" Eren smiles looking down at the book "Look at me" he turned his attention to Armin "we should do it i've sold one day got five adventures like the guy who wrote this book."

Flashback end

Eren pulls himself up with the remaining strength he has and jumps into the Titan's mouth, grabbing Armin just in time. He chucks him out, making him land roughly against the brick roof. Eren tries to leap back to Armin but stops when the Titan's teeth slowly close. He grabs its teeth, restraining while pushes it away from him. Armin turns over an shrieks, "Eren!"

" I refuse to die like this, understand?," He stretches out his arm to him, " armin, listen. We're still going to the outside world...the things you told me about...I have to see them. I have to." Tears fall down Armin's eyes. He yells to him, trying to grab him, "eren! No! "But it was too late. The Titan clenched his teeth down on Eren's arm, which swish passed armin and swallows eren down, making Armin let out a horrified, blood-curdling scream

The scream echoed around the city as from elsewhere, Mikasa and Latina walked along the roofs. While drake, Grayson and zane walked along a different one, Then came to a halt when They heard it, hair blowing in the as they were wondered
