Levi x Jealous Reader: I Can't Say No
~(Y/N)~
I had never thought I'd be the only one putting all the effort into a relationship, I was always told that it takes two to make a relationship work. But here I was watching the man I had thought I loved in the arms of another woman, not even thinking for a second about how I could be feeling.
Before I was never the jealous type, but now that I had the man I planned to marry in my grasp, I didn't want to let him go, even if it meant I was the one doing all the work to make this so-called relationship succeed.
My friends said it was unhealthy and that I should break up with Levi, but I ignored their advice and stayed by his side hoping he'd come to realize how much I loved him. But this isn't just about me, it's about him too.
One night after arguing about moving to a new apartment Levi had found himself camped out on my couch in my one-bedroom studio. Our fights were becoming more frequent and over stupid little things.
Just the other day I had yelled at him for not doing a simple task and he left the apartment, he said he had stayed at a friend's house. Tonight I managed to keep him here under my watchful eye. Levi and I had been together for nearly three years, the best years of my life until recently.
It felt as if we had grown apart, recently when we would attend parties hosted by close friends I'd find him in the arms of another, and when I would bring it up he'd shut me out and say it was nothing, and to stop acting so childish. He once told me he belonged to me and I belonged to him.
His words gave me some reassurance but lately, I had felt his words lost meaning. Turning on my back I looked up at the ceiling, past owners had put glow in the dark sticker stars and had never taken them down. Usually, on nights where I couldn't sleep, I'd count them.
Silently counting to myself I began to feel slightly drowsy, when I finished counting them all I repeat until I fall asleep. One by one I looked at each star and counted them off, getting slower and slower each time before finally falling into darkness for the night.
~Next Day~
I had awoken to a door shutting. Opening my eyes partially I found the dreamcatcher on the back of my front door swaying back and forth from being recently closed. Levi must have already left for work.
Pushing myself up off my mattress I swing my legs off the edge and sit there in my tank top and shorts. Sliding off the bed I land on the cold wooden floors. Stepping over into my small kitchen that was not so far away, I get on my tiptoes and open the cabinet pulling out a coffee mug.
Most morning Levi had already left for work. He had been doing it for about a month now, and wouldn't get back until late into the evening. But tonight we'd be going to a party together. My friend Petra was having a baby shower. Her and Oluo were going crazy planning it and I convinced Levi to tag along. I had my outfit all planned out for tonight. I was excited for the first time in a long time.
~Time Skip~
Levi and I stood outside our front door. Turning I fixed his shirt and pecked him on the cheek. He stared down at me with a dull expression as if my affections bored him. Ignoring his expression I turn around and head downstairs.
Once down in the lobby I rush out and get into the taxi to avoid the rain. Levi got in after me and sat on the opposite end of the car. I'm so tired of trying. Shaking my head I look out the window as the taxi began to drive through the city. The rain hit the window and my eyes followed the drops as they slid down the side.
By the time we reached Petra's apartment building I had moved right next to Levi. Quickly he got out and ran inside. Following behind we rushed up to the third floor. Opening the door he stepped in, before I could enter I was caught in between the door and frame. Not even in the apartment yet and Levi had already got lost in the crowd.
Entering I find Petra rushing over to me with her big belly. "You came!" she says happily before hugging me.
"Yeah," I say.
Pulling back she looked behind me. "Did Levi not come?" she asks.
"Oh no he did, he's probably off spending time with friends." I say.
Her expression turned sad as she gently rubbed my arm in sympathy. "Not getting any better?" she asks.
Shaking my head I smile, play it off as if I'm not hurting at all. "It's whatever... I'm sure we'll work this out." I say.
Petra's expression didn't change. "You've been saying that for weeks now... Sweetie... I think you and Levi need to talk." she suggests.
Pursing my lips together I walk with her towards the living room. "Talking solves nothing, he's hardly around to hear what I have to say." I explain.
Stopping she looked around then smiled. "Then, you need to make him listen, tell him that you can't be the only one putting in the effort," she says. Petra had a point, of course I should take her advice, her, and Oluo had been married for almost ten years now and were happy, really happy.
Looking behind her I caught glimpse of Levi talking to another woman. She had black hair and looked like a model. There he goes again. I watched him laugh, and gravitate closer to her. Marching up I stand next to Levi and lock arms with him. "Hey, darling." I greet before pecking him on the check.
Levi chuckled and pried my hand off of him. "Who's this, your sister?" the woman asks.
"She's-
"His girlfriend," I answer for him, smirking up at her I watched her roll her eyes.
"Oh-
"Yeah so don't even try asking him-
"Excuse us for a moment," Levi says now taking my arm into his hand tightly. Tugging me away from the woman, leading me into the kitchen he shoved me toward the counter.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" he asks.
Looking at him in disbelief I place my hand over my chest. "Me? What's wrong with me? What is wrong with you!?" I snap, my voice gradually getting louder.
"You're always on my ass, it's getting ridiculous." he groans.
"Maybe if you didn't flirt with other women we wouldn't have this problem-
Scuffing he backed away, running his left hand over his head he was starting to get frustrated. "I'm not flirting, I can't talk to whomever I want." he says.
"I'm not stupid Levi, I have ears I've heard you do it before and I'm sure that girl is no different." I snap.
"So, what are you saying I can't talk to anyone except you?" he asks.
Now, becoming frustrated I cross my arms. "No... I just-
"You just don't trust me.... Fine then, we're done." he says. I stood there motionless, people were staring at us watching fight go down. Say something, stop him... make him regret it.
"Fine! Because I don't want to date some fuckboy!" I insult. I watched him stop in the doorway, he didn't turn around, or say anything... he just walked away. Petra came up to me and grabbed my arm.
"Honey, are you okay?" she asks.
Bottling it in I purse my lips together and nod. "Y-yeah... I'm fine." I whisper. Walking through the apartment I tried to converse with others to not think about the embarrassing fight I had gotten into with Levi.
~Time Skip~
By the time the party ended I was the first to run out and rush home. I had hoped Levi was there waiting to work things out. Sliding my door open I look into the studio finding he was gone, rushing in without closing the door I whip open the closet door finding his clothes off the hangers. It's really over.
Falling back onto my bed I tried to keep it together. Already I had wasted too many tears on Levi, ones he didn't deserve. Sitting up on my bed again I turn and look at my bed. There were miscellaneous things going through my bed I began to pull the things Levi got me off. Setting them in the middle of my bed I walk over into my kitchen and grab a large black trash bag.
Walking back over I pick up the things and shove them into the bag. Looking at my walls I pull pictures off and shove them in as well. Everything that Levi had done with me had to go. This place needs a makeover anyway.
Pulling one photo from the wall I look at it and smile. It was when Levi and I went on vacation, it was such a long time ago, back when we used to really happy. God, what happened to us?
I then pulled out a box and began collecting more things such as nick-nacks, photos, stuffed animals, anything that reminded me of Levi. Going through the closet once more I did find one of his shirts he had left behind. Lifting the flannel to my face I took in his typical scent of lemon tea. Tears began to pour from my eyes as I fell to my knees. That stupid jerk.
Days after that I spent in my apartment processing and giving myself time. I called work telling them I was on vacation or sick. I couldn't let people see me so upset and lost except Mikasa, she came over when she could, she even told me that Levi got with some girl. I felt I like Levi might've been cheating but I would never know.
~Months Later~
Rushing down the sidewalk in heels and a sundress I was going to meet my new boyfriend. I was embracing the new me. I was happy for the first time in a long time. Turning into the café shop, looking around I found him sitting in a booth next to a window. Walking up I go and greet Bertholdt with a kiss on the cheek.
It had been six months since Levi and I broke up and three months since Bertholdt and I got together. Sitting across from him I set my bag beside me. "So, how did the interview go?" I ask.
Looking up from his menu he smiled. "Great, I should be getting a call here in the next day or so," he says. Nodding I then look down at my menu.
It was our usual hangout this cafe shop. It was where he took me the night we met. Sitting back we had light conversation and waited for the waitress to come to our table for our order. Bertholdt smiled up at me before taking my hand into his. "Tomorrow let's do something." he suggests.
Smiling I nodded. That's how our relationship had been, simple, no risk just simple. I usually agreed with whatever Bertholdt suggested. Bertholdt was a good guy and I knew he wouldn't flirt with any women like Levi did.
Soon enough a waitress walked up with a notepad and pen in her hand. As we began to order our food I hear the door open with a little ding. My eyes wandered and saw a man with black hair, walking in with a woman with black hair.
To my surprise it was someone I dreaded running into in public. As our eyes met I felt my heart stop. Levi with his new girlfriend walked in. He seemed shocked. "Oh hey." he says as he stops in front of me. His eyes scanned me before smirking.
The waitress quickly left with our orders. Blinking a couple times I smile and turn forward. "H-hi." I stutter. Darting my eyes to Bertholdt he turned and smiled.
"I'm Bertholdt." he says as he extends his hand out. Both the woman and Levi shook his hand.
"Levi." Levi answers.
"(G/N)" the woman answers.
He smiled gentle before my eyes laid on the gaudy piece of jewelry on the woman's finger. "Oh, my god are you getting married?" I ask as I point to the ring.
Both looking down at her hand she lifted it up and showed it off. I thought I was gonna go blind. "Yeah, in about a month." the girl says. Her voice was extremely high. My heart fell to the floor as soon as the words passed her disgustingly pink lips.
Forcing a smile I nod once. "Well, congrats." I say in a bland tone. Looking up at Levi he too forced a smile as he wrapped around arm around the girl. The girl flipped her hair and forced a smile down at me. Everything about her was fake, her voice, face, nothing about her was the least bit natural. He could do so much better than this barbie doll. Why do I even care.
"Thanks, we're very happy." he says. Sure, okay.
"Well, if you'll excuse us guys, my girlfriend and I were just getting our drinks." Bertholdt interrupted. Levi's eyes darted over to him with an intense stare, in a way it was like Levi was telling him to back off.
"Sure, we'll see you around," Levi says keeping his stare on me now. As he turned his eyes stayed glued to mine.
I watched as they left, turning his head he looked back at me with a slight glare then turned his attention to Bertholdt, who he gave a more intense glare to. Watching them sit he kept his watchful eye right on me. Rolling my eyes I turn and wait patiently.
~4 Months Earlier~
I had spent two months getting over Levi, it wasn't easy getting all of his things into storage but I had help from my best friend Mikasa and her adoptive brother Eren. Late one night at home in my pajamas I sat on my couch watching a little tv with some popcorn.
Flipping to a random channel I open the popcorn. Suddenly there was a knock at my door, sigh I set the popcorn on the coffee table and walk over to the door. Opening it I find both Hanji and Mikasa standing there with bags. Confused I let them in, "What's going on?" I ask.
Setting the bags down on my bed they turned and smiled. "We're going to a party and we're taking you with us." Hanji says.
Shaking my head I walk up to them after shutting the door. "I'm not really in the partying mood." I say.
Both Mikasa and Hanji looked at each other. "You haven't wanted to go out since you and Levi broke up, now is the time to get back out there, Levi isn't worth it." Mikasa says as she walks up to me.
I looked back at Hanji hoping she would understand. "Sorry (Y/N) but Mikasa is right, you can't keep yourself locked up here just because Levi is gone." she says. Sighing I walked past them both and look into the bags. They had gotten me a bunch of different clothes.
"Fine...but only for a little while," I say turning to them. They both smiled at me before walking over and pulling clothes from the bag. They handed me a black dress and heels.
~At The Party~
As the three of us entered the bar they dispersed leaving me on my own. So, much for a girl's night. Maybe since they aren't watching me I can sneak home. Shaking my head I tried getting in a positive mood, thinking I deserved to have fun once in a while especially after what has happened.
I made my way through the thick crowd of dancing people. Trying to avoid the guys who were single and came up onto single girls. I wasn't in the mood for one night stands. My mission was to get to the bar, get a slight buzz then go home.
Walking up to the bar I sat in a stool by myself. Ordering a drink I sat there quietly after as the music blared. I took a couple sips of the drink before turning to look at the dancing crowd. I could see both Mikasa and Hanji dancing with men they never met, having the time of their lives.
I on the other hand felt like the third wheel. I had recently got dump by a man I thought I loved and didn't want to be seen out in public. I wouldn't have come if I were just going to end up being alone. As the bartender set my drink down, a taller man sat beside me. He was handsome. "Water please." he orders.
Turning in my seat I watched as the many people danced. From the corner of my eye I could see the guy staring at me. "Parties not your thing?" I ask as I turn to him.
He smiled shyly before shaking his head. "Friend dragged me along." he answers.
"Mine too," I answer before taking a drink.
After a while of silence we both sat quietly drinking our drinks. "Do you want to go?" he then asks. I felt a slight rush of nervousness to hearing his question.
Looking to him I was a little nervous a stranger asked me to leave with them. "I don't know you though," I say.
"I'm Bertholdt, I promise I'm not some creep." he says as he stands up.
Standing up with him too I decided to trust him. "(Y/N)." I introduce before sticking my hand out. Smiling he took my hand and shook it gently. I didn't care if Mikasa and Hanji would be worried, I was getting out. They'd probably be too drunk to remember to take me home anyway. Bertholdt and I both made our way back to the front of the bar. Exiting through the door I didn't realize how cold it had gotten. Rubbing my upper arms I tried to keep warm. Why didn't I bring a coat-
Suddenly something warm covered me. Looking back I find Bertholdt giving me his jacket. What a gentleman. Smiling be both then grabbed a taxi and went to a diner to get something to eat and chat. From there Bertholdt and I became good friends.
~Present Time~
Finishing my food quickly I didn't want to be around if Levi was here. "I'm gonna go to work." I say as I stand up. Walking over I peck Bertholdt on the lips before I left. Standing up straight I looked back finding Levi and his girlfriend sitting not so far from us. His gaze was on me the entire time.
I fixed my eyes to what was in front of me instead and headed for the front door. I wanted to leave as quickly as possible. How could Levi get engaged with someone he met so recently? God- What am I thinking I don't care about him anymore.
Shaking my head I began walking to work. I worked at a local antique shop and was going to be there until closing tonight. Crossing the street I walk quickly over to the shop and enter through the front door. The bell rang above the door as I walked in.
Jean my co-worker was already at the cash register with a customer. "Have a nice day." he says in an annoyed tone.
Walking behind the counter I go through my bag, pulling out my name tag I quickly pin it to my shirt. Clocking in I took his place. "Thank god." he sighs.
"Rough day?" I ask.
"Rough week, too many stupid people." he sighs. I watched him clock out and pull his coat on.
"See you," I say as he walks out the door. He waved goodbye while another customer entered the shop. So, much better than staying at that diner with Levi there.
~Time Skip~
Shutting off the lights I begin closing up for the night. In the back I decided to restock the shelves with other antiques we had received. I couldn't see the front door but I heard the bell. "We're closed," I call out hoping to send the customer away.
"I know." I hear a familiar voice call out.
I stood there completely mute knowing who had just entered. Levi. "Where are you?" I hear him call. I wanted to hide and not come out wishing he would just leave. No you can do this, tell him to go. But...maybe see what he wants.
Quickly turning I step out from behind a shelf. The store was dark, but we could still see one another. "What do you want?" I ask.
He leaned against the counter, he looked serious. "I wanted to talk... we haven't talked in four months... how have you been?" he asks.
Crossing my arms I slowly approach him. "I've been fine... as you could see I have a boyfriend now." I say.
"Yeah, I saw," he says.
There was a long silence as we just stared at each other. "Seriously Levi, what do you want? I know you're not here to see how I've been... if you really cared you would have asked me at the diner." I say.
Chuckling he looked down at the floor. "Damn, you've changed." he chuckles. Oh no, please don't do this.
"I've just gotten sick of being treated like shit... now if you're done please leave." I tell him. Walking past him he quickly rushed around me stopping me. I was beginning to get pissed off, I had a clear idea of why he came here.
"Okay, okay, I know was an asshole, and I'm sorry-
"Oh you're sorry now?" I ask.
He let out a sigh, pushing past him he grabbed hold of my shoulders. "Please just listen to me-
"No! We're not doing this Levi... you're interested in me because I'm no longer the helpless little girl... news flash I have a boyfriend and you have a fiancee!" I snap. Walking past him I walk around the counter to keep him from grabbing me.
"I doubt it's going to work out." he says.
Scuffing I turn to him and flash him a glare. "I'm not cheating on my boyfriend just because you like me again... If you wanted to be with me then you shouldn't have been such a bad boyfriend to me." I say.
"I know, and I hate that I was a jerk to you, if you'll please let me work this out, I'll prove-
"There is nothing to prove Levi! It's over, has been for four months, I love my boyfriend!" I snap. I felt a sting at my heart seeing his reaction and turning him away.
He didn't say more, he simply backed away and turned to the door. Leaving I stood there in the dark, my heart raced and ached- "No, stop it." I say to myself. Quickly clocking out I then grab my back and head straight for the door. Locking up I look around making sure Levi wasn't near.
Quickly walking home I wanted to forget this night. As I got to my apartment I quickly enter my studio and locked the door. Slamming my back against the door I leaned against it letting out a sigh. He's only doing this to mess with you. He doesn't love you.
Taking off my purse I set it on the table. Pulling my coat off I hang it on the door and walk over to my bed.
~Levi~
I stood outside (Y/N)'s apartment. I felt stupid for what I had done and knew I couldn't stay with the woman I had been seeing knowing my feelings weren't real. Pulling out my phone I dial the number calling my soon to be former fiancee. "Hey baby." I hear her voice say. Ugh, that annoying voice.
"Hey, meet me at the diner we went to for lunch, we need to talk." I tell her.
Hanging up I walk away from the apartment and head over to the diner. Sitting in a booth I waited for (G/N). I'll prove it to (Y/N) no matter what it takes. I tapped on the table impatiently as I looked about the cafe shop. I can see why (Y/N) likes this place.
Closing time was coming very soon, a waitress placed two glasses of water down for us. I felt perfectly fine with doing this now although I knew I should have probably gotten rid of the water.
The bell rang as the door opened, looking up I find (G/N) entering. She smiled and quickly walked over. "What did you want?" she asks as she sits.
"You hungry at all?" I ask first.
Shaking her head she smiled. "Okay... well, you're gonna hate me after this- which is understandable but.... I wanna break up." I say. Her smile vanished as she sat there looking confused.
"Why? You love me don't you?" she asks.
Pursing my lips together I shook my head. "It doesn't seem fair to marry someone I don't love," I answer.
"Is this because of that girl at lunch today? Are you cheating on me?!" she snaps.
"What? No, I just don't want to marry someone I don't love... I'm sorry I even proposed in the first place." I tell her.
She shot a deadly glare my way before taking the glass of water in front of her. She took it and threw the water in my face. Sitting there with a wet face I watched her get up and storm out of the diner all while taking her ring off and tossing it to the ground. I made it quick and simple, I couldn't keep lying to myself or the girl.
Quickly a waitress rushed up to me. "Sir, do you want a towel?" she asks. Looking over to her I shook my head while I dug for my wallet. I should have kept the water off the table, now I'm all wet.
"No... I deserved it." I say softly before placing a twenty on the table. Sliding out of the booth I made my way out of the diner. I walked around the streets cold and wet. I knew the timing was horrible to try and win her back but it was either now or never. I regretted the months I didn't try and contact her.
~The Next Day~
Heading to work early I called Bertholdt telling him I would be free tonight. Walking into the shop I find Jean holding a bouquet of roses while looking at me. "You know Jean I do have a boyfriend," I tell him.
"They're not from me, stupid." he sighs.
Confused I walk up and take the flowers. Looking through the roses I find a little card, pulling it out I read it. All that was on it was a capital 'A'. Levi's last name. My smile dropped.
"Tossing it-
"What? No! Give them to me... I can give them to Mikasa." Jean says as he rips the bouquet out of my hands.
"You really are cheap Jean," I say.
"I'll just make a new card, she'll love these," he says. Rolling my eyes I clocked in and pinned my name tag on.
I worked up until my break before heading out, I thought I'd text Bertholdt and eat lunch next door.. "I'll be back in fifteen," I call to Jean.
As I walked out of the shop I stopped next door to grab some lunch, I did this almost every day. Sitting in the seat I began eating while texting Bertholdt. We had planned to go see a movie tonight since I would be free. As I took another bite my eyes darted up at the chair being pulled out.
Looking up I find Levi sitting down. Throwing my fork onto the table I cross my arms. "Did you get my flowers?" he asks.
"Yeah, and I gave them Jean," I answer.
"(Y/N) would you please just try-"
"There is nothing to try Levi, I have a boyfriend and you-"
"I broke up with (G/N)." he interrupts.
Laughing hysterically I shook my head. "Of course you did," I say.
"I don't love her (Y/N)." he says.
Leaning forward I push my meal aside. "Then, why did you propose to her?" I ask.
He sat there looking for a proper answer. "I-I thought I did." he says.
Quickly getting up I place my money on the table and grab my bag. "I don't have time for this Levi," I tell him.
He then shot up from his seat, grabbing my hand. "Please (Y/N), I was an idiot and I'm sorry for all the shit I did-
Turning around I slapped him hard on the cheek. "I don't care! It's over! Now, leave me the hell alone!" I snap. Looking around eyes fell onto me as the diner fell silent. Letting out a groan I yank my hand free before storming off.
"(Y/N) please!" I hear Levi call.
"And stop sending me shit, I have a boyfriend." I say.
Walking back over to the shop I clocked back in and started stocking the shelves again. Levi thankfully didn't barge in allowing me to cool off. Pulling items from the boxes I placed them on the shelf and wrote a price on the sticker. I have to tell Bertholdt. Levi's not going to give up unless I really convince him. Why now when he knows I would never cheat.
I guess I was being slow and not listening because Jean came up and tapped my shoulder.
Jolting I look up at him. "I was calling you," he says. God, he scared the crap outta me.
"Oh, sorry," I tell him.
"Someone left you a message." he says.
Walking with him to the front I took the note off the counter. 'Meet me tomorrow night at your place, we need to talk ~Levi'
I teared the note up quickly then threw it away. "I'm going, Bertholdt, and I have plans." I tell Jean as I walk around the counter. Clocking out again, I knew I wasn't going to be able to focus on work today.
~A Couple Days Later~
Bertholdt had dropped me off. Kissing him goodbye I watched him, roll up his window then drive away. We had just gotten back from dinner. Smiling I turn and begin walking up to the sidewalk. In a rather tight red dress, I was so ready to undress and go to bed early. My feet hurt from the tight heels.
It had been quite a few days without Levi sending me things or showing up out of the blue. I wondered if he were finally giving up. He must've finally realized that he lost and that I wasn't going to go back to him.
As I walk up to the building I headed up the stairs. Walking down the hall I unlock the door to my studio, entering the dark room I close the door and lock it again. Turning I feel for the light only to hear footsteps. I then stopped and looked about the room a dark figure stood in the living room.
Stopping I look around. "Who's there?" I call. Quickly flipping on my light I turn again finding Levi standing in my living room. Letting out a tired sigh I set my bag down. I then slip off my heels and set them beside the door.
"Get out." I sigh. How did he even get in here? Does he still have the copy I gave him? That's it I'm changing locks.
"No, not until you listen to what I have to say," he says with his arms crossed, he gave me a stern look. Walking up to him I stood there glaring up at him.
"Hurry up, because I'm losing my patience with you." I say.
He then walked closer making the space between us small. He was silent as he looked down at me with a serious expression. His eyes moved erratically across my face, he was frowning the entire time. "I love you." he starts.
Pressing my lips together I avoided his intense stare. I smirked at his word, my head told me not to believe them but my heart was being a bitch. "No you don't." I mutter. I shook my head as I turn to look at him only to look down at the floor with a shaky sigh. Pinching the bridge of my nose I then felt his hands hold my shoulders.
"Yes, I do," he says. Looking up at him I stood there silently. I shook my head once more, I thought back to the times he'd flirted with girls around me and acted like it was nothing. I didn't want to seem helpless and still hurting but my eyes were beginning to build up tears. No, you can do this, this guy hurt you- I didn't want to believe him. I wanted to hit him, yell at him, but I didn't, I hesitated this time.
"Why? Why did you do that to me then? The women... leave me- Why?" I say. He quickly took my face into his hands, his face closing in.
"Because I'm stupid... I took you for granted." he says. His forehead pressed against mine while still holding my face.
"I'm so sorry (Y/N)... I'm so sorry it took so long to realize... I love you I really do." he says.
With his hands, he tilted my head up, his lips inches away from mine. Wanting to give in I almost go in for the kiss, except I back away just in time. "I can't Levi... I'm with-
His mouth crashed into mine interrupting me. His hand fell back onto my face keeping me from pulling back. My hands grabbed his wrist knowing I should pull back but I didn't. I'm horrible... to be doing this when I'm with Bertholdt- but I-
Levi pulled away just slightly. "Say you love me, say it," he whispers. I shook my head once more, he was clouding my judgment again.
"Levi- I can't- I- I want to but..." I stop.
"I know you do... because if you didn't you would have slapped me again or worse," he says. Quickly turning away I shut my eyes tightly. No, you can't fall for under his control again- You can do this. I shut my eyes tightly wishing this was just a dream.
"I don't know if I can trust you," I say.
"Do you really love him?" Levi then asks.
I could feel Levi's hand grabbing my left hand. Do I? Or- "If you do then go to him now and I'll leave you alone for good." Levi then says.
"I-I need to go," I say.
"Okay." Levi says. Turning to him he seemed sad. I squeezed his hand slightly getting his attention.
"I'm just going to get some air... I'll be back." I say.
He nodded before falling onto the couch. Grabbing my phone and keys I walked down to the front of the building when my phone went off. It was Bertholdt. Just who I needed to talk to. I need to tell him. Placing the phone at my ear I then darted my eyes down to the ground to avoid the cold wind.
"Hey, I was just gonna call you." I answer.
"Hey... you know that job in California I interviewed for?" he asks.
"Yeah what about it?" I ask.
"I got the job!" he says in an excited tone.
"That's great! When do you start?" I ask.
"Next, week, I'm having my things moved and I'll be moving there permanently," he says. How coincidental.... Just when I cheat on him he has to move. Laughing I shook my head as I lifted my head. Well, shit here goes nothing.
There was a long silence when he said that. "(Y/N)?" I hear him.
"I'm still here... and wow that's soon." I say.
"Yeah, I know... I was wondering if you'd come with me?" he asks.
There was another long silence. Say no stupid! "I-I can't leave... you know I love New York." I tell him.
"I know but LA is just as big," he says.
"Bertholdt... I can't I'm sorry." I tell him.
He then let out a sad sigh. "Dang... well, I really didn't want it to come to this... you know I can't do long-distance relationships." he says. Yes, I did know this... he had talked about if we ended up having to split up because of work... well, looks like that's happening. Pursing my lips together I watched cars pass by.
"I completely understand... it's fine." I say. This time I let my heart take the leap and take this chance to go back to Levi in hopes that he and I could fix things.
"Really? Are you sure?" he asks.
"Y-yeah." I answer.
As I was stood there a woman bumped into me. Minding my own business I ignored them and went on with the call. At least say excuse you. "I'm sorry it had to end like this," he says.
"It's fine Bertholdt, you go to California and work your butt off, you deserve it," I tell him.
"Thank you," he says.
With that, I hung up the phone and took a deep breath. I felt a huge relief as I shoved the phone back into my pocket. Kind of coincidental but I had known about the interview for a while now, it was all he could talk about working for a really big company in California.
Turning back I head back to my room, when I got there I found my front door open slightly. As I peeked in I saw two people now knowing one was Levi. "Get the hell out!" I hear him snap.
Opening the door I saw a woman with black hair coming onto him. "Who are you?" I call. The girl looked back at me, it was Levi's ex. She looked furious, her makeup was a mess, along with her hair. My studio now reeked of alcohol because of her. As she turned, her lips tugged down in a frown. Her lipstick was a mess as well, in general, she looked like a very cheap sad clown.
"You." she growls. She began making her way to me when Levi grabbed her and began taking her out of my studio. Setting her outside the door he stuck his head out. I could see (G/N) trying to get back in so Levi completely stepped out, pushing the girl along with him.
"You can either go (G/N) or I'll call the police." I hear Levi say. I then heard heels running off as they got softer. Levi re-entered the room with a sigh.
"I swear she came here on her own," he says. Walking up to him my hand slipped past his waist as I locked the door.
"I believe you," I say.
Turning away I walked over to the window beside the bed. The room suddenly went dark, turning slightly I saw Levi's hand hovering over the switch. He slowly walked over to me, turning to him he took hold of my shoulders. "I really am sorry... I should have never treated you the way I did," he says.
Shaking my head I smile up at him. "It doesn't matter anymore..." I say.
Without warning, he leaned down again kissing me once more for only a couple seconds before pulling back. "I-I'm sorry you're supposed to be-
Pulling the collar of his shirt I brought him back down in for another kiss. "It's been decided," I say into the kiss. Taking hold of my hips he smiled into the kiss. Who knew after a couple of days of being annoyed to hell I'd be back with the man I knew I couldn't say no to.
