Butler Levi x Princess Reader: Worth

~(Y/N)~

It was a typical day at the castle. I wake up and receive my breakfast from my butler Levi. While I'm eating he picks out my outfit for the day, or should I say costume. He lays them out on the chair next to the window. I silently ate my food and watched him watch me. "Is there anything else I can get for you Princess before your bath?" he asks.

"Not at the moment Levi, but thank you," I say then taking a sip of my orange juice. Levi was my friend, my only friend, I was glad to have him be my butler, he was easier to talk to since we had met, yet I don't know too much about him, like where he came from or what his family was like.

"Alright then, I'm going to start the water for your bath," he says. He walks over to my bathroom door, he opens the door and walks in. I finish my food and then get up and cover myself in a robe. I walk over to the bathroom and stand in the doorway. There he stood sleeves rolled up, and putting in bubble solution. I was leaning on the doorway when he saw me.

"Princess stand up straight," he says then walks past me.

I stand up straight and wait. I look back at him, something was off about him again today. He had been acting different for most of the week now. He was at my door about to leave when he saw me staring. "Would you like me to join you or something?" he asks.

"N-no." I stutter. My face began to heat up, I quickly walk in and shut the door. Someone's moody. I undress myself and get into the tub.

I wash myself head to toe and get out. I stand up and take a towel to dry off my legs and torso. I put on the robe and walk out to see Levi had come back. "Your mother wishes to see you this morning, it seems important," he says

"Alright," I answer.

He helps get my corset tightened, he took his time tying the corset and I get the rest of the dress on, Levi buttoned the front of my dress, taking his time to get every button together. Once he finished I made my way to my mother's office. Levi was walking in front of me silently. "Levi," I say.

"Yes Princess?" he asks.

"Is everything okay with you? You seem more tense than usual." I say. He stops in his tracks but doesn't turn around.

"I'm fine, don't worry about me," he says before continuing to walk. After that, I stopped asking questions. I didn't want to make him angry. Once we had gotten to my mother's office he opened the door and I step in.

"Good Morning mother," I say holding my hands together.

"Morning dear, you and I have some things to discuss," she says.

"Okay," I say then turn to Levi.

"You may be dismissed, Levi," I tell him.

He bows then walks away and out of the room. I go and sit in front of my mother. "Your father and I think it's time for you to chose a prince to wed." she bluntly says.

"Already?" I ask.

"Your father isn't getting any younger dear, and he's ready to step down here soon," she explains.

"But what if I can't find myself a husband?" I ask.

"That is why we are scheduling a ball this weekend, we are inviting the top bachelors for you to meet," she explains.

"But mom what if I don't like any of them?" I ask.

"You have two months to get to know them after that you need to make your decision," she says.

I didn't like that she was rushing me to make a decision, I wasn't ready to be married. I knew that this day would come that I would have to wed a prince but I really just wanted to find someone I actually like and would grow to love. The rule was that I can only marry royalty no butlers or lower class citizens.

I get up and walk out without a word. I heard my mother calling me but I ignored her calls. I needed someone to talk to... Levi was the only one I could talk to, I didn't have any real friends I shared my secrets with except him. I went to the kitchen searching for him. "Hello Princess." the chef says and bows.

"Hello, I'm looking for my butler, Levi... have you seen him?" I ask.

"Maybe his chambers, other than that I'm not exactly sure." he says.

"Thank you." I say walking in the direction of his chambers. It hadn't been the first time being in his chambers, I'd go there to rant about how being a princess sucks. I hated it sometimes because I didn't have much authority, I wasn't able to do what most girls got to do. When I got to his chambers I knock on the door. Levi opens the door and I walk in.

"What is it (Y/N)?" he asks.

"My mother... she said that I had to find someone at the ball this weekend, then I had two months to get to know them...." I explain.

"Well that's an arranged marriage for you," he says.

"Well I hate it, I want to marry someone I love," I tell him.

"(Y/N) if I could do anything then I would but I don't have the power you do, talk to your father maybe he'll understand," Levi says.

"Okay... also, are you sure everything is okay with you?" I ask.

"Yeah I'm fine," he says.

After our conversation I went to my chambers, I had a dress fitting for the ball. I change into the dress then stand on the stool for the dressers to fix up. As they were fixing it there was a knock on my door. "Come in," I say. The door opens revealing my mother. I dismiss the dressers so my mother and I could be alone.

"Look (Y/N) I'm sorry but this is how it works, I know you don't like the idea but we don't have long until your father steps down," she explains.

"I wanted to marry for love, not because I'm forced to." I snap.

"I understand that but you don't have the time, and neither does your father and I." she says fixing up my dress.

"I'm only 17 mom, I don't even want to think about marriage right now," I tell her.

"Well it's too bad, you are apart of a royal bloodline and will marry someone from another royal bloodline." she snaps.

I step off the stool and make my way to the bathroom. "(Y/N)!" she calls.

"Leave me alone mother," I answer before stepping into the bathroom and closing the door.

I take off the dress and put back on the original one.

~At Ball~

I was still in my room, I was pacing around my room waiting for Levi to get here. I was nervous to be meeting so many men tonight. I continued to pace for about five minutes until the door opened revealing Levi. "Sorry I'm late," he says coming towards me.

"I-I can't do this Levi," I tell him.

Next thing I know he cupped my face in his hands. "Yes you can, and you will," he says. I felt my face heat up at the close contact.

I nod at his response. I took a deep breath as he released my face. "Tighten my corset," I tell him.

"Yes, of course, Princess," he says before tightening the strings then tying it off. I didn't want to go, I wanted to stay with Levi and talk to him. He had always been on my side. I walk over to the door while Levi opens it. We walked down to the ballroom together. I stopped in front of the door and took a deep breath.

"Goodbye Princess," he says in my ear quietly.

I look back at him confused. He began backing away. "Levi?" I ask.

The doors open and I turn my attention to the crowd standing in front of me. I walk in and over to my mother and father. The music began to play and the people started to dance. Countless men came up to me and asked for a dance. I refused, that was until my mother began glaring at me. "Make your mother happy and at least dance with a few." my father whispers.

"Fine." I snap.

The next guy that came and asked me to dance got his wish. I danced with him but didn't say anything. I wasn't interested... I was more questioning why Levi was saying goodbye to me, it didn't feel right to me, was he planning to leave? I stop in my track. "Princess? Have I done something wrong?" the guy asks.

"No you were just fine, it is my fault...excuse me," I say turning to go back to my parents.

"Father, I need to leave for a moment, I'll be back."

"Fine," he says.

"Charles? She has to meet a young man to wed." my mother whispers.

"It can wait," he says putting his hand up in front of her.

I turn and walk away from them. I made my way to the doors I had previously came out of. I walk in the direction I saw Levi go in. It led me to the kitchen. "Have you seen Levi?" I ask.

"He's in his chambers packing, aren't you supposed to be at the ball Princess?" the chef asks.

"Yeah," I tell him.

I then exit the kitchen and quickly make my way to Levi's chambers. Why is he leaving? I had gotten to his door and knocked on it. He opened it and looked at me in surprise. "Why are you leaving?" I ask.

"Princess, you should be at the ball finding your future husband."

"To hell with that, I want to know why you're leaving me?" I ask.

"Princess you shouldn't waste your time with finding out why I'm leaving, believe me, I'm not worth it."

How could he say that? "Yes you are, you're worth it to me!" I yell.

He looked at me shocked at my words. It was true he was worth it, he was the only friend I had...and to be honest I wanted him.

"You're worth it to me Levi! You're the only friend I have here, you know me better than my own parents, you care for me every day and all I can do is say thank you... the truth is Levi... I-"

"Princess!" I hear one of the maids. I was beyond frustrated.

"What?" I snap.

"Your mother is looking for you." the maid answers.

"Tell her I'll be there soon, now go." I snap.

I turn back to Levi and pull on his shirt to bring him in for a rough passionate kiss. After a minute I pull away. "That is how I feel, that is why I don't like the idea of an arranged marriage... it's because I love you, you idiot." I say with my head down.

"(Y/N)" he says

"I will talk to my father and make him agree to let me marry you," I say tightening my grip on his shirt.

Next thing I know Levi's lips were pressed against mine once again. I wrap my arms around his neck. He lightly ran his tongue against my lips asking for entrance, I slightly open my mouth and felt his tongue lightly touch mine. After a minute he pulled away. "I love you too brat," he says as he placed his hands on my hip.
