(Eren's POV)

I just stared at Mikasa, thinking how could she and Annie save us all from this situation.
I could not even think of a scenario where we would survive. We were surrounded by soldiers left, right, front and back.

Xenarys was growing impatient and I knew we were going to lose one way or another and I'm going to die in the end. If I'm not given to her any second now, she might slaughter everyone and take me.
She might probably kill everyone even if they gave me to her and she'll shower me in the blood of my own friends before sucking the life out of me.

I don't know how long Mikasa and Annie can possibly manage to survive but eventually... they'll perish.

"How long are you gonna try and protect him? You're going to die one way or another. And that's IF you do not surrender Eren to me right now." Xenarys stated.

"We'll protect Eren until our last breath. We'll die knowing he's safe." Mikasa replied.

Xenarys started laughing.

"You're so funny. We'll see how long you can manage to stay alive before I eventually take Eren from you." 

I felt my eyes starting to tear up. I was going to cry, knowing this is the end. But then Annie grabbed my tiny hand and looked some straight in the eyes.

"Don't cry, little Eren, we'll be okay." She said as she pulled me into a hug, trying to comfort me. "We'll make it through this. You just wait and see."

"Give me the kid and I'll make sure you stay alive." Xenarys said.

"Over my dead body." Mikasa replied.

"Okay then. If that's how you want it then you'll get what you want. I'll kill you and take the kid." Xenarys then said.

"Take Eren and run!" Mikasa shouted to Annie who nodded and started to run away with me.

"Mikasa No!!" I shouted but she couldn't hear me as she started fighting with Xenarys and her soldiers. Some of those soldiers started to give chase but Annie was fast enough.
Enough to avoid contact with any one of them.
For a significant time, at least. And that time was getting shorter and shorter.

I looked at one of the soldiers and noticed that he was holding a big wooden crate and was going to throw it at us.

"Annie duck!" I shouted, to which she did and we managed to avoid getting hit and probably losing our heads.

"Good eyesight!" Annie complimented me while still running. I looked away and said thanks shyly.

"Aw! Come on! Look at me for a second!" She said in a teasing manner to which I replied: "I prefer just keeping a lookout and make sure we don't get to lose our heads, thanks."

"Suit yourself."

Annie reached a point where she couldn't run anymore. I felt it as she started to breathe erratically and slow down.

Eventually Annie stopped to take a breath. She has been running for a whiles that point. 

"Aww are you tired?" Annie and I looked in front of us and saw Xenarys. She threw a weak, tired and bloody Mikasa on the ground in front of us.
"Give. Me. Eren."

"Never." Annie replied.

"Then I'll take him off your dead corpse." Xenarys replied.

A soldier ran straight at Annie but Annie jumped over him and kicked him down on the ground with me still in her hand.

She then leg-sweeped another one and grabbed a sword off one of them and struck two others with it.

I felt like I needed to throw up.

Mikasa was trying to get up but failed. She just watched as Annie tried to fend off the soldiers alone.

"You'll... make Eren dizzy..." She said.

"So I should leave him on the ground and risk someone grabbing him while I'm busy?" Annie replied.

"Good...point."

"Oh please, you won't survive long, honey." Xenarys commented. "You'll be quick and easy to get rid of."

All the cadets tried to get back in the fight and gain an upper hand, but all their effort proved to be pointless. The opposing evil army was strong and their armors were nearly unbreakable. We were also outnumbered. One by one, our brave cadets fall tired and beat up, unable to fight any more.

I looked into the eyes of Mikasa on the ground and saw the look of defeat she gave me. She looked like all hope was lost. And seeing her in that state made me feel more scared and sad.

One soldier suddenly grabbed Annie by her hoodie and threw her away, making her lose her grip on my body. Xenarys watched as I hit the ground hard and rolled a few feet on the ground due to the force of the impact.

"Poor Eren... you didn't live up to your dreams of exploring this world, seeing all the beauties of nature and exploring its vast oceans, and climbing its mountains and freeing it of the titans! Hahaha!" Xenarys laughed. "But oh, what can you do... I'm afraid this is where your journey comes to an end."

I felt defeat. I was destroyed. My life was turned upside down from the very moment those dam titans broke through the walls and at that moment I was going to die as food for a succubus.

But then, and as I was getting ready to meet my end, a giant beam of light appeared from the sky and shined down upon me. My body started to slowly levitate off the ground.
I felt a feeling of warmth and comfort as I witnessed my own wounds heal.

I heard a female voice in my head say: "Do not worry, Eren Yeager. The gods stand by your side."

And then, as soon as Xenarys yelled at her soldiers to try and grab me, a lightning bolt struck me once again.

I looked at my body and saw that I was no longer a kid, but a fully grown man with jacked muscles and a glorious beard.

I landed on the ground when I stopped levitating and then raised my hand up in the air as dozens of soldiers surrounded me and tried to grab me. Another lightning strike hit my hand and reflected onto the evil infantry and sending them flying away with a blast.

Accompanying the lightning strike, was a giant sword that I seemed to be able to carry with little to no effort. I pointed said sword at the evil succubus trying to take me life away.

"I am Eren Yeager, Son of Grisha Yeager! And you are not welcome in the land of the living! To the underworld with you, evil succubus!" I yelled at her.

"Then so be it." She said, pulling out an equally large sword. "If I'm going to have to fight you for all the spells you have, then I'll do it. I'm not afraid of a challenge."

5 of her soldiers started running at me with their own sets of swords and axes. I started blocking their attacks first, which seemed fairly easy to do. They all attacked at once, but I blocked their attacks by holding my sword horizontally.

Each side was pushing, trying to gain the upper hand. Eventually I managed to over power them and push them away. As they tried to swing back at me, I impaled and cut them swiftly, not taking any chances.

More and more started coming my way as I started to cut, hack, slash and stab them while trying to close off the distance between me and Xenarys.

"Go Eren!" I heard Reiner shout, followed by similar shouts by all my friends and cadets. They all gave me the boost of confidence I needed to continue on and push forward.

After slaughtering every single one of the troopers, it finally came down to me and the She-Devil herself.
