"Falco! Falco! Where are you? Where did you go?" Gabi shouts as she looks around.

"The first titan transformation knocks you out and impacts your memories" Reiner says from behind Gabi as Evelyn and Colt help him walk, "he was taken".

"By who? Why?" Gabi asks as she looks back at Reiner.

"Probably Conny and Jean" Reiner says as he looks down, "they wouldn't overlook a life as valuable as Falco's. Being one of the nine titans, he's too important to--" he says as he falls to his knees.

"Reiner! Did you use all your power?" Gabi asks as she runs over.

"Yeah. My armour came undone somehow and a piece of wall hit me real good" Reiner says as Evelyn spots how badly he's bleeding, "I couldn't stop it. Eren... will destroy the world".

"Reiner. Look, I'll explain it when we're all back with Levi and Hange but for now--" Evelyn says as she digs into the bag on her belt and pulls out a syringe, "take some of my blood. It's too much to explain now but my royal blood has healing properties which helps speed up the healing of the nine titans" she says as she takes some of her blood from her arm.

Reiner rolls up his sleeve as he holds out his arm to her. She presses the needle into his vein as she injects her blood into him. Within an instant, Reiner starts to heal much quicker.

"And for stopping Eren, I can help with that as well. But we're going to need back up and lots of it" Evelyn says as Reiner nods.

"In the south, there are escape airships" Reiner says as the four of them make it into a house which is still standing, "Gabi, get on the airship and escape. This is no place for you. We'll find Pieck and stop Eren. You have to hurry and tell Marley... no, the world".

"What will telling them do? Where is there to run?" Evelyn asks as she looks at Reiner.

"For once, I agree with Evelyn. There's no use" Gabi says as she looks at Reiner as well.

"They're right" Colt agrees.

"My Mom, Dad, Aunt Karina... won't everyone die?" Gabi asks as she closes the door to the house.

"Yes" Reiner says as he looks down.

"We've got to kill Eren and stop him!" Gabi says desperately.

"We can't" Reiner says hopelessly, "the Founding titan can make all Subjects of Ymir and titans obey its will. No one can stop him now. We can't do anything but run".

"You have zero faith in me, do you, Reiner?" Evelyn asks with a small chuckle.

"You've tried to kill me multiple times" Reiner says as he looks at her.

"You did it first" Evelyn retorts.

"You two" Colt says as he reprimands the two of them.

"Reiner..." Gabi says softly as she ties her hair up, "like hell I'm giving up! I'm coming for you, Falco!".

"I've always liked you, Gabi" Evelyn says as she looks at Gabi.

"You're not that bad yourself" Gabi says shyly, "okay, are we doing this or not?".

"Sure we are. Reiner, Colt, you stay here and rest. We'll come back for you once we've found Falco" Evelyn says as she looks at Colt and Reiner.

"Evelyn..." Reiner says as he looks at Evelyn, "take care of her for me".

"Roger that!" Evelyn says as she and Gabi leave.

--- the northern end of Shiganshina ---

"It's over" Jean says as he comes over with Falco, "I never thought he'd slaughter everyone outside the walls. Once they die off, so will all the hate. Everyone who threatened our existence will be flattened, leaving nothing but empty plains. What the world feared more than anything had happened. All because they labelled us devils and tried to slaughter us. In other words, this is something they brought upon themselves. There was nothing we could do, right?".

"But... this is... going to far. It's genocide of unprecedented scale" Armin says as Conny and Jean start to tie Falco up.

"Then... do we stop him? Stop Eren?" Jean asks as he lays Falco's head on his lap, "Eren opposed Zeke, who wanted to castrate us with his euthanisation plan. He opposed preserving the Founding titan by sacrificing Historia. Basically, Eren... he's sacrificing humanity outside the walls to protect us. Because there's only one group that benefits from mass genocide-- us".

There is a explosion from behind them as they all look over.

"That is...!" Armin says as he watches some soldiers trying to get away from the titans that threaten to kill them, "the titans are fighting soldiers? Did they eat the whole Marleyan army? By why? If Eren commands the Founder, can't he control every titan?".

"Well, they're eating our guys! Let's help!" Jean says as he lays Falco on the rooftop and stands up.

"Wait, Jean! What about the kid?" Mikasa asks as she looks at Jean.

"He's probably inherited the Jaw titan. We can't just leave him here" Jean says as he picks up Falco, "but if we feed him to a titan, we could save somebody. For example, Commander Pixis--".

"No. My Mum. We feed him to my Mum in Ragako" Conny says as he looks away, "alright?".

"Conny, Jean... according to Zeke, that kid's a warrior candidate and he's like their little brother" Armin says as he looks at the two of them, "if we kill someone close to Reiner and the Cart titan, it'll only cause more conflict! There's no point in continuing the bloodshed once Marley has fallen, so--".

"You're saying my Mum doesn't matter?" Conny asks as he looks at Armin, "do you have any idea what it's been like to see my Mum like that every time? You're only here because you ate Bertolt! So don't stop me from bringing my Mum--!".

"Conny!" Mikasa yells as a titan runs towards them.

Armin falls into Mikasa as Jean drops Falco. Conny takes this opportunity to grab Falco and make a run for it.

"Hey!" Jean yells.

"Conny!" Armin shouts.

"Not now!" Jean says as he stands up, "shit. We've got to deal with these titans. There's no longer any walls" he says as the three of them prepare their blades.

--- in the centre of Shiganshina ---

"Run! Use the narrow alleyways!" Niccolo says as he and Sasha's family run as a titan chases them.

Kaya looks back as Niccolo and Sasha's family turn a corner, Sasha running into a gate as she falls down some stairs.

"Kaya!" Niccolo yells as he holds back Sasha's family.

"Kaya!" Mr Blause yells.

"Stay back, Mr Blause!" Niccolo shouts as he grabs Mr Blause.

The titan jumps and dives into the gate as it breaks it.

"Why...? Again...?" Kaya asks as she looks back at the titan who lies inches away from her, "save me, Big Sis!".

"Kaya!" Mr Blause yells as the titan goes to grab her.

Gabi runs in from behind Kaya as she grabs her, pulling her out of the way as Evelyn flies in with her ODM gear and cuts the back of the titan's neck, killing it. Kaya looks at Evelyn but for a moment, she sees Sasha with her bow and arrow.

"Big... Sis?" Kaya asks confused.

Mrs Blause runs to Kaya as she takes her into her arms. Mr Blause walks to Gabi as he holds her shoulders.

"Nile" Evelyn says as she looks at the titan, realising it was Nile.

"Evelyn, are you okay?" Niccolo asks as he runs over to her.

"Yeah, I'm fine, Niccolo. Thanks for taking care of them for me" Evelyn says as she wipes her tears.

"Was he a friend of yours?" Niccolo asks as he looks at the titan.

"Something like that. But we never got along. But still... he was a friend" Evelyn says as she turns around to look at Sasha's family.

"Didn't you escape with the warrior unit? Why are you here?" Niccolo asks as he walks down to Gabi.

"I came to rescue Falco" Gabi says as she looks at Niccolo.

"You mean Ben?" Mr Blause asks.

"Hey! Are you guys okay?" two soldiers ask from the rooftops above them.

"Did you kill the titan?" another one asks as he looks at Gabi with her gun.

"Where'd you get that gun? Did the girl shoot it?" the man asks as he tilts his head.

"It was me, you two" Evelyn says as she looks up at them both.

"Section Commander Evelyn" they both says as they salute to her.

"Continue taking out any titans you can find. After we've got rid of them, we'll reconvene and count our numbers" Evelyn orders as the two of them nod, "one of you take these people somewhere safe and guard them with you life. Look. I need to find my team. Whilst the Commander isn't here, it's my responsibility to step up. I'll meet with you afterwards".

Evelyn flies off as she meets up with Jean, Mikasa, Armin and Shadis as they all make their way to the tower where most of the soldiers are, along with Yelena and Onyankopon.

"Is anyone alive in there?" Evelyn asks as she cuts down any soldiers in her way, "everyone get to the top floor! We'll hit the titans when they gather! Bring all the Thunder Spears you've got! We'll handle them somehow! Don't let the titans wander off! If you care about your former comrades, let's lay them to rest!".

They all gather at the top of the tower as they look down at all the titans below them.

"Together, everyone!" Evelyn yells as she squeezes her eyes shut, "fire!".

They all jump down as they fly towards the titans. They throw their spears at the titan's neck as the spears explode, killing the titans. Shadis leads more titans towards the tower as the soldiers prepare for another round of fighting. The titans start to crawl up the side of the tower as they all look down at the titans.

Evelyn looks down as she spots Commander Pixis looking at her, some look of desperation for her to kill him in his eyes.

"Commander Pixis..." Evelyn says softly as she prepares her gear, "let's go".

They all jump off the edge of the tower as they dive down.

"Commander... the reason we're here... the big reason we made it this far... is because of you" Evelyn says as she goes to his nape and throws a spear at it, exploding his nape, "may you rest in peace".

They manage to take down the rest of the titans as it slowly becomes oddly peaceful again. The only sounds heard being footsteps in the distance, distant screams of injured soldiers, fires crackling, small explosions.

"The fires have settled" Jean says as he looks around, "Marley's army was basically wiped out, and there's no more pure titans. For now, we're safe".

"I see. It's about time you told us about the daydream" Onyankopon says as he watches the titans walk by, completely ignoring them, "what is Eren trying to do?".

"You're looking at it" Jean says calmly.

"I see" Onyankopon says simply, "is my homeland doomed as well?".

"Floch, are you okay?" a soldier asks as Floch limps into the room.

"While I was nearly dying thanks to the wall, it looks like you took care of the titans, Jean" Floch says as he looks over at Jean.

"You lived?" Jean asks as he looks back at Floch.

"Yeah. Thanks for your concern" Floch says with a smirk, "I can't kick the bucket just yet. Eldia's restoration is finally at hand. Yelena, assemble the volunteers. You're being detained".

"What?" Jean asks as he stands up.

--- underground ---

"I'm glad you're okay, Mr Blause" Armin says as he looks at Mr Blause.

"I'm glad you're all safe too. Sorry to bother you for this" Mr Blause says as he, Evelyn, Armin and Mikasa all walk downstairs.

"Gabi!" Evelyn says happily as she walks over to her.

"You're...! Why are you here...?" Armin asks in shock.

"Believe me, I don't want anymore trouble" Gabi says as she looks at Armin, "all I want it to get Falco back. I promise we'll disappear for good!" she says as Mikasa and Armin look down, "Falco... where is he?".

Mikasa and Armin explain everything that happened to Gabi and she and Evelyn stand there in shock.

"There's no way. He took Falco to feed to his titan Mother? Why?" Gabi asks as her voice shakes.

"Since Conny's Mother was the only one there unable to move, there she stayed" Armin says as he looks at Gabi, "for four years, Conny has been going back to see her whenever he could".

"Four years..." Kaya says in shock.

"I'm... sorry" Gabi says as she falls to her knees, "even so, I can't give up on Falco" she says as she grabs onto Evelyn and hugs her, "please! Can't your brother turn Conny's Mum back into a human? Can't the Founder do anything?".

"I don't know, but if he could, I think he would have done so to the soldiers Zeke turned into titans" Evelyn says as she holds onto Gabi.

"If you don't know, why don't you ask him?" Gabi asks as she looks up at Evelyn, "does everyone off the island really have to die? They shouldn't have to! Ask him why he can't just kill all the military bases! Seeing how he stripped Reiner of his armour, I don't see why not!".

"Where is Reiner?" Mikasa asks as she looks at Gabi.

"Does that even matter? He's too injured to move!" Gabi says as Evelyn kneels down to her and hugs her tightly.

"When did Reiner's hardening come undone? When? At what point?" Armin asks as he looks at Gabi.

"As soon as the walls collapsed..." Evelyn says as she slowly realises something, "Annie...".
