"It's called a 'gas weapon'" Zeke explains to Evelyn as she sits across from him, "the gas contains some of my spinal fluid. Breathing just a slight amount makes Subjects of Ymir freeze up. They can't control their bodies and lose consciousness. On my command, I send the Power of the Titans to the coordinate via Paths. That's why the people of that village obeyed my orders".

"It's not 'that village'. It's Ragako" Evelyn says angrily, "don't forget the name of the village you slaughtered, you bearded piece of shit".

"Well I didn't want to do it" Zeke says as he looks at Evelyn, "but if I hadn't, and they found out I was sided with Eldia, I couldn't have brought hope to this island. You know, I told you all of this when I landed on the island. Why do you keep asking?".

"You don't have a shred of guilt in you and it shows" Evelyn says as she glares at Zeke, "you have the same look on your face as the day you betrayed me. You may or may not want to save Eldia but those lives meant nothing to you, and neither did I apparently. But now you want to rebuild the sibling relationship we lost? Move on".

"Evelyn, what I did back then was right? You know that!" Zeke says as he looks at her.

"It was right? You've got to be kidding me! I was injected with titan fluid and nearly turned into one. If Eren Kruger hadn't of saved my ass, I'd be a pure titan" Evelyn yells as she stands up, "you ruined my life Zeke. I stand by what I said that day, I hate you!".

"If you hate me then why are you here right now?" Zeke asks, "I know you were ordered to stay behind but you wanted to come to keep an eye on me. You don't hate me, Evelyn. Somewhere deep down inside of you, you still love me, your big brother!".

"Dream on, you bastard!" Evelyn yells as she walks over to Zeke, "you lost any amount of love from me the minute you pointed at me! All I ever wanted when I was little to live life normally with you, with Mother, with Father. I didn't want to be part of the Restorationists either, but I knew I wanted my freedom, so that's why I joined them. All I've ever wanted was to be free from humanity and to live how I wanted with my family. I wanted to do that with you Zeke, but you ruined it! And when Father and I made it to the walls and we started a new family, I thought I'd be able to move on from you when Eren was born but I couldn't. You were always in the back of my mind, my big brother! So why did you do it? Zeke, why? Answer me! Answer me, you bastard! I'll fucking kill you!".

"Evelyn" Zeke says as Evelyn starts to punch him as Zeke just takes it.

"Evelyn, stop!" Levi yells as he runs into the tent.

"I'll fucking kill you. You're a piece of shit and I hate you! I hate you so much so why do I love you? Why do I want to go back to normal?" Evelyn yells as Levi grabs her and holds her close.

"Come on. Let's go" Levi says as he pulls Evelyn out of the tent.

Levi and Evelyn make it to their tent as Levi zips it shut.

"Shh, calm down. It's okay" Levi says as he hugs Evelyn.

"Why do I feel the way I feel, Levi? He's our enemy. He killed Erwin. I should hate him" Evelyn says as she holds onto Levi.

"But he's your brother, and there is part of you that still loves him and that's okay. Evelyn, your feelings are valid" Levi says as he looks at Evelyn.

Evelyn looks at Levi for a moment before she holds onto his tie, pulling him towards her, her lips landing on his. The mix of the salt from her tears joins their kiss as their kiss become filled with want and need. Evelyn unbuttons Levi's jacket as she slips it off of him. Levi fiddles with the buckles on Evelyn's harness as the two's lips do not leave each other. Levi throws her harness to the ground as he turns her around. He starts to kiss her neck as he unbuttons her shirt, taking it off her body. Evelyn turns around again as Levi picks her up, placing her on one of the wooden crates. The two of them kiss some more as Evelyn starts to unbutton Levi's shirt. She pulls it from his torso as he watches her look at the scar she gave him when they first met in the underground. Evelyn leans in as she kisses along the large scar on his chest. Evelyn looks at Levi again as the two of them kiss more. Levi starts to touch her chest as she gasps as the sudden good feeling. Evelyn reaches back as she unhooks her bra, taking it off. Levi brings Evelyn down from the crate as he kneels down in front of her. He unbuttons her jeans and pulls them down her legs as she steps out of them. Levi kisses up her legs as he trails his hands up as well. Evelyn walks to the bed and lays down on it as Levi unbuckles his belt and pulls down his jeans as well. Levi gets on top of Evelyn as the two start to kiss. Levi pulls off Evelyn's pants as Evelyn does the same with Levi's.

"Evelyn" Levi says as he looks at her.

"Levi" Evelyn says desperately.

Levi pushes into Evelyn as Evelyn gasps. Levi gasps as well as he stays there for a moment. Levi kisses Evelyn's forehead as he starts to move. The two of them try to keep as quiet as they can as they spend their first night together. Their movements continue until the two of them reach their highs. Levi slowly pulls out of Evelyn as he lays down next to her, pulling the blanket over them.

"Did we really just do that?" Evelyn asks as she lays her head on Levi's chest.

"I mean we're married. What's stopping us?" Levi asks as he strokes her hair.

"But Levi, what if-" Evelyn says as she looks up at Levi.

"If to comes to that, we deal with it" Levi says as he looks down at her, "but I married you so I can have a family with you. I love you".

"I love you too" Evelyn says as Levi leans down and kisses her softly.

--- at Niccolo's restaurant ---

"What's the matter, Mia? Have you got the jitters?" Mr Blause asks as he turns to look at Gabi and Falco.

"Um, no..." Gabi says as she looks at Mr Blause.

"You're so nervous, Mia!" one of the kids teases as she hugs her Mother.

"No!" Gabi says as she holds Kaya's arm, "Kaya. Does a Marleyan captive really work here?".

"It's true, so get a grip. Soldiers use this place, too" Kaya says as she whispers to Gabi.

"It'll be good to know another Marleyan" Falco says quietly as he looks at the two of them.

They all walk upstairs as they make it to the room where they'll be eating.

"Mr Blause! Thank you for coming!" Niccolo says as he greets them all.

"Thanks a bunch for the invite!" Mr Blause says happily.

"Oh my! You sure brought a crowd!" Niccolo says as Gabi and Falco join them all as well, eight guests in total.

"Since it's on the house, I brought the whole gang. Sorry" Mr Blause says with a small chuckle.

"It's fine. Welcome everyone. This way" Niccolo says as he gestures for them to follow him.

"That's Niccolo. The Marleyan who invited Mr Blause" Kaya says as she comes over to Gabi and Falco whilst the rest of them find their seats, "see if he can help you".

"Mr Blause isn't a soldier, so why was he invited?" Gabi asks as she looks at Niccolo and Mr Blause.

"His daughter was the girl soldier who saved me" Kaya says as she looks at Gabi, "Niccolo was at her grave and wanted to treat him to the food she loved. But, personally, I thought they were in love".

Gabi, Kaya and Falco all get to the table as they sit down as well. Niccolo serves up some food for them and everyone starts to eat.

"Ben, what's the matter? Do you have a stomach ache?" Mr Blause asks as he looks over at Falco.

"Uh, no!" Falco says as he looks down at his plate.

He picks up his fork and takes some of the food into his mouth, "delicious! I've never had anything this good!" Falco exclaims.

"Just wait until you've tasted the main dish!" Niccolo says excitedly as he continues to prepare the main dish.

"Niccolo, you've got guests" a man says as he walks into the kitchen holding some dishes.

"Huh? Who is it now?" Niccolo asks as he looks at the man.

"The Scouts" the man says as Niccolo goes to them straight away.

"You guys? What, is it urgent? My hands are full with some customers" Niccolo says as he enters the room.

"Uh, you can get back to work if you want" Hange says as they put their hands up, "it's just, we'd like to talk to you when you're done".

"Talk? About what?" Niccolo asks confused.

"Oh, you know. Like any concerns you have" Hange says as they smile softly.

"They're investigating our detainment. We're hoping you can help" Onyankopon says as he takes a step forward.

"Yeah, alright" Niccolo says with a nod.

Niccolo guides them all to a room as they follow him in.

"You can wait in here" Niccolo says as he gestures for them all to sit down.

"Oh? What a fancy room" Hange says as they look around.

"I bet it's reserved for the Military Police" Conny says as he walks in.

"Huh? Is this the wine all of the soldiers are going on about?" Jean asks as he picks a bottle up from the shelf, "they say only higher ranks can get it!".

"Yeah? Aren't we high ranks in the Scouts?" Conny asks as he looks at Jean.

"Yeah. We deserve a bit of fun too" Jean says as he turns to look at Conny, "a sip or two-".

"Don't touch that!" Niccolo yells as he grabs the bottle from Jean, turning to look at the two of them, "this good stuff would be wasted on Eldians! Just because I've been nice to you doesn't make us pals. I'm just a captive right. That makes us even, Eldian".

"What's his problem?" Conny asks as he watches Niccolo walk out of the room.

"Damn it. Hell if I knew" Jean says as he looks at Conny.

Niccolo walks past the room where the Blause Farm is having their dinner as Gabi spots him.

"Go" Gabi says as she looks at Falco.

"Ah! My stomach hurts!" Falco yells as he starts to fake a stomach ache.

"Are you okay, Ben?" Mrs Blause asks worriedly.

"Did you eat some bad?" Mr Blause wonders.

"I think I need to use the bathroom!" Falco says as he stands up from his chair.

"I think I'd better go help my brother!" Gabi says as she stands up as well, the two of them leaving the room.

Kaya says. Niccolo tries to get his breath back in the wine cellar when he hears footsteps coming down the stairs. He turns around to see Gabi and Falco there.

"Hmm? The bathroom is the other way" Niccolo says as he looks at the two of them.

"That's not why we're here, Niccolo" Falco says as he holds onto the stone wall.

"We came from Marley. We're warrior candidates" Gabi reveals.

"What?" Niccolo asks in disbelief.

"We think there will be a huge offensive against the island soon" Falco says as he and Gabi walk over to Niccolo.

"Until then, hang in there! And let any of your Marleyan comrades know!" Gabi says as she looks up at Niccolo.

"Hold up! What are the warrior candidates doing here?" Niccolo asks, confused as to what's happening.

"The island devils raided Liberio" Gabi explains calmly, "we got aboard their airship as it retreated and rode it here".

"Did you kill anyone?" Niccolo asks as he gasps, "a female soldier?".

"Yes, I did!" Gabi says excitedly as Falco gasps, himself and Niccolo putting the pieces together, "I only killed a few, but our real revenge has yet to begin!".

"Gabi, wait. Hey!" Falco says as he looks at Gabi.

"We won't let those spineless devils get away with..." Gabi says confidently.

"Gabi, stop!" Falco says as he grabs Gabi's shoulders.

"What?" Gabi asks as she looks at Falco.

"So it was you..." Niccolo says as he reaches behind him to grab a wine bottle, "who killed her? You're the one who killed Sasha?".

Niccolo swings to hit Gabi but Falco grabs Gabi, taking the hit himself as the bottle shatters on Falco's head, some of the wine slipping into his mouth.

"Falco!" Gabi yells as she runs to Falco, "hey, Falco! Are you okay, Falco? Falco! Falco! Get up! Wake up! Hey! Say something, Falco!

"Shit!" Niccolo yells as he grabs Gabi and punches her.

Niccolo grabs the two of them and drags them upstairs into the dining room as he lays Gabi on the ground in front of the table, keeping a firm grip on Falco.

"Niccolo! What did you do to Ben and Mia?" Mr Blause asks as he and Mrs Blause stand up from the table.

"She's the one who killed Sasha. She took your daughter's life" Niccolo says as he points a knife towards Gabi, "though she's just a kid, she's a trained Marleyan soldier. She got aboard the airship leaving Marley and shot your daughter. She shot Sasha".

"Daughter?" Gabi questions as she looks at Mr Blause before gasping.

"Mr Blause, here" Niccolo says as he holds the knife out towards Mr Blause, "if you can't kill her, I will. Is that alright?".

"What the?" Armin asks as he comes into the room, "guys, get in here!".

"Huh? What is it?" Hange asks from down the hallway.

They all walk down as they study the whole scene.

"The kid who shot Sasha!" Jean says as he and Conny spot Gabi on the ground, "what's doing on, Niccolo? I heard she's on the run!" he says as he spots Falco under his arm and a knife in his free hand, "what are you doing? Hey!".

"Don't move! Stay back! I'm avenging Sasha! Stay put!" Niccolo yells as he points the knife towards Falco.

"Stop..." Gabi says quietly from the ground, "not Falco!".

"What the hell is this brat to you? He took the hit for you!" Niccolo says as he looks down at Gabi, "do you care about him? I cared about someone, too! An Eldian! Spawn of the devil! On who loved my cooking more than anyone! She saved me from this shitty ass war! She taught me that I like making people happy with my food! Her name was Sasha Blause! She was the girl you stole from me!".

"People I cared about were killed, too! They were shot by your Sasha Blause!" Gabi yells as she looks up at Niccolo, "that's why I got revenge! She killed people first!".

"Who gives a damn who killed who first?" Niccolo yells as he presses the blade to Falco's neck.

"Open your eyes! You're a Marleyan soldier!" Gabi yells desperately, "that devil woman bewitched you! Don't lose to the devils!".

"Niccolo. Hand me the knife!" Mr Blause says as he looks down at Gabi as she and Niccolo both gasp, "come on".

Niccolo places the knife in Mr Blause's hand as he walks over to Gabi and looks down at her.

"Don't do it, Mr Blause" Hange says as they take a step forward, "please put down the knife".

"Sasha was a hunter" Mr Blause says as he trails his finger on the blade, "even as a small girl, she shot vermin in the forest for us to eat. That was just our way of living. But we knew one day that we would have to give up on that kind of life, so I sent Sasha away from the forest. So, she went into the world, became a soldier, shot people far and yonder, and got herself shot. In the end, though she left our forest, the world is a great big forest where everyone is fighting for their life" he says as he passes the knife to his wife who places it down on the table, "I reckon Sasha died because she wandered in the forest for too long. We've got to keep the youngsters out of the forest. Otherwise, nothing is going to happen to stop it from happening again. That's why it's up to us adults to shoulder the sins of the past".

"Niccolo. Let Ben go" Mrs Blause says as she looks at Niccolo.

Niccolo looks at Falco as he nods. Conny and Jean take Niccolo away as Mr and Mrs Blause look after Falco.

"Good, Lisa. Slowly, now" Mr Blause says as he lays Falco down on the ground.

"Are you hurt?" Mikasa asks as she kneels down to Gabi and studies her for injury.

"Mia... are you okay?" Mr Blause asks as he looks at her.

"Do you really... not hate me?" Gabi asks as she looks at Mr and Mrs Blause.

Kaya grabs the knife off the table as she runs straight at Gabi. She goes to stab Gabi but Mikasa grabs her wrist.

"Kaya" Gabi says softly as she looks at Kaya.

"How dare you kill her!" Kaya yells as she tries to grab Gabi.

"Kaya, stop!" Mr Blause shouts as he and Mrs Blause pull Kaya away.

"You murderer! I thought you were a friend!" Kaya yells as she struggles against Mr and Mrs Blause's strength.

"Let's move you. Come on" Armin says as he and Mikasa help Gabi up from the ground.

Kaya, Mr Blause and Mrs Blause all cry as they hug each other. Mikasa and Armin walk Gabi out of the room as they make it to the hallway.

"Now the food's gone cold" Niccolo says as he looks at Kaya, "Hange, try to rinse out that kid's mouth. Some wine got in it".

"Huh?" Hange asks as they look at Niccolo.

"Though... it's probably already too late" Niccolo says as he looks down.

"What's in... the wine?" Hange asks worriedly.

"I think... Zeke's spinal fluid" Niccolo says calmly.

--- in the forest ---

"Zachery was killed?" Evelyn asks in disbelief as she and Levi gather with some of the Scouts.

"Yes. The Jaegerists effectively control everything in the walls" one of the Scouts says as he looks at her, "we think it's all part of some plan Zeke put together using Yelena and Eren".

"And?" Levi asks as he looks at the Scout.

"Soon, the Jaegerists may bring Eren to Zeke and Evelyn like they've been demanding" the Scout says as he looks at Levi.

"And Commander Pixis? Is he letting this happen?" Evelyn asks as she looks at the Scout.

"As you know, the Commander can be quite stubborn" the Scout says as he glances down.

"He's going to make sure Eren gets eaten... by our own hands" Levi says angrily.

"That's right" the soldier says calmly.

We've saved Eren time and time again, sacrificing more and more comrades. All because we believed he was the hope of humanity. And look at where our beliefs got us. It's like some awful joke. What the hell was the hope we saw? All that struggle for a farce like this?

Evelyn asks as she holds her head.

"Such bullshit. It's not even funny" Levi says with a small chuckle, "there's another shithead we should've eaten".

--- at Niccolo's restaurant ---

"What do you mean? Zeke's spinal fluid is in the wine?" Jean asks as he grabs Niccolo by his collar, shoving him against the wall.

"I don't have proof, but..." Niccolo says as he looks at Jean, "they packed the first scout fleet to the brim with it- well more than any scouting mission needed. And... around the time I secured my job here as a chef, I was told to serve it to high ranking officers. It was Yelena who told me to. As far as I know, she's the only one in on it. I can't speak for the other volunteers".

"This is the first time I've heard about it!" Onyankopon says as he looks at Hange.

"It doesn't make sense. Don't Eldians freeze up if they drink his spinal fluid?" Conny asks as he looks at Hange.

"According to Zeke. Nobody witnessed it, so there's no way to confirm it" Hange says as they look at Conny, "but... the effectiveness of his little lie has been enormous. Because nobody has frozen up, no one is even aware they drank it".

"Yeah, but... you don't know for sure, right?" Jean asks as he looks at Niccolo.

"Yeah, I can't prove it" Niccolo says as he looks at Jean, "but Marleyans know how Zeke's spinal fluid has been used in the past. About ten years ago, we conquered one capital in just one night. Hundreds of titans sprung up in the city. Unless that's what she's plotting, I don't know why she wants it served to your military's top officers".

"So earlier, you grabbed the wine away because you were protecting us?" Jean says as he starts to piece everything together.

"Who knows? I don't know what I'm doing" Niccolo says as he looks down, "I came here to save the world from island devils. Now that I've opened my mouth, I'm sure my days are numbered. But, Mr Blause... I don't think I can be like you, but if this can serve as atonement... killing a child? What's wrong with me?".

"Niccolo..." Mr Blause says as he looks at Niccolo.

"Why did you protect me?" Gabi asks in the other room with Mikasa and Armin as she looks down.

"Because. I don't have a reason" Mikasa says as she looks at Gabi.

"I'm the one who killed your comrade. I'm the one who bludgeoned the guard" Gabi says as she grips the table cloth, "Falco didn't do it. Kill me, not him".

"We won't kill you" Armin says as he looks at Gabi.

"But you want to, don't you?" Gabi asks as she looks at Armin.

"I don't want to kill you" Armin says as he looks down, "kill this, kill that... is that all you think about? Just like someone I know".

The door to the room opens as Eren walks in and stands in front of the table.

"Eren" Armin says in shock as Eren puts his hand up, showing them that he's injured and can transform at any time.

Hange and Conny help give Falco a bath when they hear someone shout from the other room.

"What's wrong?" Hange asks as they walk in.

"Commander Hange" Floch says as he looks at Hange whilst holding a gun towards Onyankopon.

"Floch!" Hange says in shock.

"I'm glad you're here" Floch says as Jean, Conny and Niccolo walk in too, "I imagine you know where Zeke and Section Commander Evelyn are. We'll have you take us there".

"Wait. We have no intention of fighting you" Hange says as they put their hands up.

"We rejected your proposal. We won't negotiate with the military" Floch says as he takes a step towards them.

"And why is that?" Hange asks as they glare at Floch.

"It's Eren's decision" Floch says calmly, "Commander Pixis would never leave the fate of the island in our hands. I'm sure he's frantically devising a plan to take the Founder from Eren while we're on the move".

"You're imagining things" Hange says with a slight smirk, "or is that what your comrades in the Garrison Regiment said?".

"Does it look like I'm one of your lackey's that will answer to you?" Floch asks as he tilts his head, "I suggest you get moving before I prove to you that I'm not".

"Shit! How'd they know we were here?" Jean asks annoyed.

Niccolo spots one his Marleyan comrades standing in between two of the Jaegerists.

"Greiz? Did Yelena put you up to this?" Niccolo asks as he looks at Greiz.

"Niccolo. You're too obsessed with Eldians. I knew this day would eventually come" Greiz says as he looks at Niccolo, "I was right not to tell them how to reach you".

"Floch, listen!" Hange yells, "we don't have time to be fighting amongst ourselves! Wine with Zeke's spinal fluid was spread through the military. Zeke fooled us all with that plan of his!".

"So what? It'll just make the idiot Military Police into bigger idiots" Floch says with a small chuckle, "can we go?".

"I never said the Military Police drank it" Hange says as they gasp slightly, "no way! You guys knew about the wine?".

"Use you inside voices, please" Floch says as he walks away.

Floch walks to the room where Eren is.

"We're going on ahead" Floch says as he knocks on the door.

"Okay" Eren says from the other side of the wall.

"That voice... Floch must have come" Armin says as he looks at the door.

"Yeah" Eren says as he looks at Armin, "I wanted... to talk with you guys".
