NUNEW'S POV
- Ai'Nu!!! - There's no way!
- NuNew, get up! - Nat unexpectedly jumped on my bed and shamelessly took the blanket off me.
- Are you against me, darling? Get lost and let me sleep!
- Pfff... I'll tell Max how you're talking to me, and just wait until he... oh, forget it! You're always the same! - Seriously, Nat? First, he come to me, waking me up so early, and now he start scaring me with his boyfriend. What a guy! A little, mean, emotional blackmailer!
- Nat, did you forget something? Hasn't your "daddy" taught you any manners? Hasn't he explained that you shouldn't disturb others when they're resting?
- Ouch!!! - Nat whacked me on the head with a pillow when he heard what term I used to describe his boyfriend. Ever since I found out that they were secretly dating back in school, I can't help but tease him about it. In our banter, there can never be a lack of mention of their age gap. At this moment, such difference doesn't matter, but back in those years, well...
- Alright, sweet dumpling, I'm getting up now. - I replied, reluctantly starting to get out of bed.
The day of our compulsory vacation officially began. At 7:20 am, we were supposed to be packed and ready at the airport... Destination - Spain.
I really can't understand, what's the point of it. A week of all-inclusive under the palm trees. Pff, who cares! Day after day, the scorching sun, which now so strongly strikes the eyes and wreaks havoc, turning a person into a hybrid of a crab... It's not cool at all. I also don't understand, why should we go to Spain when we have the same, or even better, in Thailand. P'Aof used to say for such extravagant trips "integration".
I had to prepare for this trip by getting a lot of sunscreen with SPF to protect my skin from harmful UV rays. I don't skimp when it comes to skincare, so I spent a good amount of money on it. Luckily, P'Aof was kind enough to give us some extra money for the trip.
Whether I liked it or not, I knew I had to get out of my safe zone and start being more communicative. I put on my favorite tight black jeans and a white T-shirt, and threw on a denim jacket in the same, black color. I brushed my teeth and packed a toothbrush and BB cream into my suitcase. I sighed resignedly as I put on my sneakers. I really don't want to fly there.
Knowing Nat, he'll probably sneak off with P'Max to spend more time with him, leaving me on my own.
I have another option. I'm a charming, innocent boy with fair skin, a sweet smile, and sparkling eyes. I'm practically one hundred percent sure that some Spanish man will be attracted to such a cute Asian like me.
Hearing Max's calls from below, I had to break off my contemplation about my personal rainbow, yearning for someone to finally color it with crayons. I decided that since P'Zee didn't want to do it, I wouldn't protest if someone else were to express such desire. Heck, I'd even give the crayons to that person myself.
I made my way downstairs with my suitcase, but of course, I stumbled and ended up on the ground, lying on my back with a scraped chin.
"Oh, darn it! Seriously?! Seriously, NuNew? What a nice day, it started off great!" - I thought to myself as I went to eat cereal with milk, because I wasn't in the mood for anything else. Just like that ridiculous idea of a "super-duper hyper trip." Well, let it be... We're heading to the airport. I've experienced worse things, so I can handle this too.
Fortunately, Nat took mercy on me and sat in the airplane next to me. I glanced at him sideways. The expression on his joyful face gave me chills.
- What's with the big smile, huh? - I asked, not understanding his level of excitement.
- Well! I just want to be there already! - Nat yelled in my ear, as if by accident, because he certainly didn't plan to deafen me. The tone of his voice drilled into my brain so deeply that for a moment I didn't even know my own name.
- Please, calm down... - I placed my hand on his shoulder, urging him to focus his scattered gaze on me, if only for a moment.
- I can't believe it! I've always wanted to sway in a hammock hung between two palm trees, watching the sunset and eating a banana... - The boy was staring directly at me, but his thoughts were somewhere far away, lost in the ocean.
- Damn, Nat! A few times a week you watch the sunset while lying in a hammock and devouring kilograms of bananas!
- But not in Spain! - He interrupted me after a while, and I couldn't help but laugh. Natasitt is such a positive person that he finds joy in everything. I rubbed my forehead and smiled, letting Nat's good humor lighten my mood.
- NuNew, just relax for a while... Now, close your eyes and imagine yourself resting on a lounger, with the sound of the ocean caressing your ears and a pleasant breeze moving your body... Got it? - I closed my eyes, letting my imagination run wild.
- ...from afar, I can hear music, and even further away, calm words spoken in a language I don't understand. Judging by the tone and tenderness of the voices, these people must be close to each other. The wind sways the hammock at a steady pace, and I'm here and now, savoring the moment... Suddenly, I open my eyes, intrigued by a rustling sound. As I lift my eyelids, I see an unfamiliar face with dark hair right above my head... I stand up from the hammock, and the boy grabs my hand as we walk along the beach under the glistening sunset. His name is Nicolás, and he promises to reveal to me the beauty of paradise tonight. Unexpectedly, it begins to rain. A raindrop falls painfully on my nose... Damn it, Nat! Why are you hitting me?!
- It's not a drop of rain, but a flick on the nose to get you to come to your senses. I wanted you to relax, not to pretend to be a director of porn movies.
- How dare you speak like that? - I got offended at my friend for those words, ostentatiously turning my head aside.
- Oh come on, NuNew, come here... I'm sorry, I won't ever again bring you down to earth when you're floating on your rainbow, fluffy, gey cloud... - Nat affectionately stroked my head, and I embraced him in agreement.
The stewardess interrupted our conversation, politely asking us to fasten our seatbelts, and later she proceeded to explain the safety procedures.
- Move your ass quickly, Nunu! I want to sit by the window, so switch with me... - Nat, without waiting for my response, literally shoved himself onto my lap, pushing me out of my seat.
- Nat, my boy! What have you taken today? I'm asking you! - I raised my voice at him, because I couldn't deal with him any longer. I also put my hands on his hips to get him to stop squirming.
- Hey! - Nat squealed as I blew into his ear (knowing he didn't like it) and pulled him off me to take his place.
- Muah! - I felt a kiss on my cheek as a thank-you gift from my friend for giving up my seat by the window.
- Nhu! You're the best! - I've given in again... I can't help it. Natasitt is my best friend. I'll never let anyone harm him, including myself. I would harm him now if I didn't switch places with him.
It was a long journey. I don't enjoy flying on a plane. I'm not afraid of flying, I just don't like it. The worst part is during takeoff and landing when my ears get blocked. It's a terrible feeling. I don't recommend it.
The first thing I felt when we stepped off the plane at the airport was the intense heat. Nothing new, but when you leave an air-conditioned plane and face such scorching heat, it almost feels like fire dancing in front of your face, tempting you to join in. It's too hot... This is going to be the longest week of my life. I slung my denim jacket over my shoulder and glanced at Nat, who clearly didn't know where to look.
- Ai'Nat! Keep your eyes on the path ahead. Watch your step and don't look around... - With a sigh, I took his sweatshirt so he wouldn't overheat in this heat and nudged him towards the main entrance of the airport lounge. P'Zee and P'Max were waiting for us at the door, as their seats on the plane were located in the front, allowing them to disembark first.
