I groaned as I felt the bright sunlight on my face while getting out of the car. I closed my car's door with a loud thud and regretted it instantly, I am sorry for hurting you baby.

Last night I had to watch that stupid teen fic movie with Alva till 4 in the morning due to which I only slept for 3 hours. I even woke up late today and because of that, I didn't even get the time to have my breakfast, not even my precious coffee!!

Last night God only knows how I had endured that bloody pathetic piece of shit!! I mean this spoiled brat teenagers in those movies who looked like anything but a teenager, in high school, their biggest concern was how to get that boy or that girl!! How to take revenge on each other!!! How to make their exes jealous!! Where do they even get so much time? When I was in high school, I had to study my ass off and along with that, I had to work in a fast-food joint at the same time. Why was I sounding like an oldie right now?

I quickly got inside the office building to escape the sunlight and walked towards the elevator then pressed the button and waited for it to come down. One of my colleagues stood beside me and I saw from the corner of my eye that she glanced at me with a smile and was about to say something to me but I quickly cut her off by showing my palm

"Don't speak, smile or even breath around me before I have my coffee" I proclaimed nonchalantly without even looking at her. She cleared her throat and looked around in embarrassment. Soon the elevator opened and we got inside. After some time it reached the 12th floor where my cabin was. The elevator opened and I got out of it, then I saw one of the interns by the photocopy machine.

"Hey, wannabe Barbie! Get me a black coffee with no sugar" I shouted at the intern who really looked like a barbie with her blonde hair and up of it she was fully clothed in pink.

She gasped then looked at me nervously and was about to object, I glanced at her with raised eyebrows and she immediately closed her mouth then nodded her head vigorously and quickly went to the office kitchen. I smirked triumphantly and made my way to my cabin.

I was sitting on my chair while clutching my head tightly as it was aching and impatiently waited for the coffee when all of a sudden I heard a knock. I looked at the door like a child look at his Christmas gift, thinking that my coffee was here and quickly gave her permission to come in. But my excitement went out of the window when I saw Mr Mercer's PA, Stella entered.

"What do you want?" I asked with a scowl and she gulps, looking at me then muttered nervously

"Mr Mercer ordered me to tell you to meet him this instance at his cabin" I groaned in annoyance, leaning my head against the chair and took a deep breath to calm down myself, I would kill that wannabe Barbie after I see her! Was she growing the coffee beans first and then was making the coffee?!

I sighed and slowly got up then left my cabin, ignoring Stella and got inside the elevator. I mashed the 20th number button and waited for the elevator to reach that floor while I fixed my white top which was tucked in my black wide-leg pants. Soon I reached the 20th floor and strode towards Mr Mercer's cabin. I entered his cabin without even knocking and found Mr Mercer lost in his thoughts while sitting on his chair.

"Mr Mercer, don't you think that this is too early for me to tolerate your asshole personality? I asked rhetorically with a sarcastic smile and stood in front of his desk with crossed arms. Mr Mercer startled a little as he hadn't acknowledged my presence earlier then he cleared his throat

"Good Morning to you too, Ms Valentine" He muttered with his infamous nonchalant expression and I just rolled my eye at him

"Nothing about this morning was good already but right now after seeing your face, even the 0.01℅ goodness that it had left, is gone now!" I exclaimed with a scowl and he sighed then looked at me while glaring

"Does it kills you to be a little polite to others Ms Valentine?" He muttered in agitation and continued to glare while I sneered at him

"are you expecting politeness from the girl who barely slept for 3 hours last night!! and up of it she couldn't even have her morning's heavenly coffee, all thanks to her boss?! your delusional thoughts never fail to surprise me, Mr Mercer!" I scoffed and he just shook his head, muttering something under his breath. He then took a deep breath and looked at me indifferently

"Do you want coffee right now?" He asked and I kept my both hands on his desk with a loud thud

"I need coffee!!!" I asseverated with a glare and he sighed then took out his phone and texted someone. He then looked at me and swayed his phone in front of my face where I could see that he ordered his PA to bring a coffee

"Happy now?" He retorted with a sarcastic smile and I rolled my eyes. Then he gestured me to sit on a chair in front of his desk and I sighed, sitting on it.

"So have you found an apartment yet? He inquired while twirling a pen on his desk

" I don't remember you being my mom, so why are you asking me such questions? I asked and raised my eyebrows at him. He sighed and continued to twirl while mumbling apathetically

"I was just asking out of concern" He shrugged and I smiled at him sarcastically

"I am not good at taking concerns from people, especially the ones I utterly loathe" I retorted and Mr Mercer was about to respond but we heard a knock on the door and Stella entered the room with the coffee, oh my precious child! Come to mama!! Let me devour ya!

Stella kept two cups of coffee on the desk and left the room without uttering any word. I quickly took a cup and smelled the coffee deeply ahh how I missed you!! Mr Mercer slightly smiled after seeing my reaction and I cleared my throat then sipped my coffee

"So why did you called me here? Is there any new project for me? You know that I am already in a project at the moment, right?" I questioned while leaning back on the chair and continued to sip my coffee. Mr Mercer looked around nervously and scratched the back of his neck then he cleared his throat and looked at me, taking his cup

"Actually, I didn't call you here for any project. So recently I shifted in a penthouse and it's quite spacious. Since you are looking for an apartment, maybe you can move in my penthouse" he mumbled indifferently while taking a sip of his coffee. I almost spit the coffee out of my mouth after hearing him but quickly gulped it and coughed a little.

"Do you think I am crazy or what?! I asked in disbelief and he just rolled his eyes at me and mumbled

"Don't be so dramatic about it!! you have to shift within this weekend and I am sure no one will rent their apartment to you in such a short period! Would you like to stay on the streets?" He asked with raised eyebrows and I sneered at him

"Are you asking me that would I rather stay on the streets than be in the house of an asshole?! Well the answer is yes" I retorted and he just shook his head

"Listen neither I am too fond of your presence but I am trying to return the favour that you did to me so that in the future you can't be smug about saving me and I am not telling you to stay at my house permanently, just stay in for few days until you don't find a new residence. You are a smart woman and I know that, so think wisely," he said and I sighed. He was right, I couldn't find a new place in such a short time and neither I wanted to stay with Alva I would rather stay at a farmhouse, than at hers!

I sighed in defeat and finished my coffee in one gulp then got up from the chair and mumbled reluctantly "fine, I will stay at yours for a few days but in case if you are planning to murder me, just know that my best friends will come at your house with the cops if they don't hear from me within 24 hours every day" I narrowed my eyes at him and he just chuckled lightly then shook his head and mumbled jokingly

"I will try to keep that in mind Ms Valentine when I would have murderous thoughts about you" I rolled my eyes with a small smile and turned around then left his cabin.

*The weekend day*

I finished folding my last cloth and kept it inside the luggage then looked up to find Alva looking at me while pouting with crossed arms. I groaned in annoyance and muttered to Alva while checking if I had missed any clothes "Alva stop being a brat right now, I have already told you that I am not gonna stay with you"

Alva whined while sitting on top of the luggage and mumbled sadly "you can stay with your asshole boss who you utterly despises but you can't stay with your best friend of so many years?!"

I rolled my eyes and looked at her with a sarcastic smile responding to her "then just comprehend how annoying you must be to live with!! Also, have you seen your apartment? Even pigs keep the place where they stay more cleanly than you!!

Alva looked around in embarrassment and muttered
" Yeah, whatever!" I smirked smugly and was about to say something when the guys from transportation services came to take my things. I was just taking my bed and my clothes to Mr Mercer's penthouse, other than that I was donating everything else to a shelter. The guys took my beds and luggages then I hit the back of Alva's head and mumbled while taking my phone and bag "stop sulking bitch!! I gotta go now, so I don't have time for your shenanigans! So bye!" Alva just pouted while rubbing her head and murmured "bye kitty!"

I looked around the apartment for the last time and sighed. Then turned around and went to the elevator. I reached the parking lot and got inside my car then drove to the address Mr Mercer had given. Soon I reached that address and stopped the car in front of a luxurious looking building which I assumed where Mr Mercer's penthouse was. I looked at the building and muttered to myself with a sigh "Home hellish home".
