Captivity (Asami)

This is a sequel to the last two chapters. Remember to comment!

————————————————————

Four weeks. It had been four weeks since (y/n) had been captured and put in one of Kuvira's camps. Four weeks of forced labor.

Four weeks of planning an escape...

Four weeks of planning an escape had just gone out the window because two of the people who this plan relied on were just transferred to a different camp. Their tunnel had been earthbent closed too.

(Y/n) was sick and tired of this. He had tried things the nonviolent way and that hadn't worked. He was malnourished, dehydrated, and his wife was pregnant and waiting for him to get back home.

In the morning he'd take the violent approach. He just hoped it didn't get too violent.

Asami sat beside (y/n)'s Bison as it rested up. It had been a few days since it had arrived but still it needed time to heal. "Beizon" she whispered the name as she leaned her head against it. "Where is (y/n)?"

The creature made a sad sound as it nuzzled against Asami. It licked at her clothed stomach and she couldn't help but laugh at the feeling. "Okay, okay. No tasting my baby bump" she gave the creature a hug. "Just heal up. We're gonna need your help" she pulled away from the creature and walked out of the stables.

"Dad says he won't be flying for at least a week" Asami turned to see that Jinora was sitting outside the stables, leaning against the doorframe.

"How much of that did you hear?" Asami asked as she crossed her arms and stared the girls down.

"Relax. The spirits told me that you were pregnant months ago. Congrats by the way" Jinora offered a kind smile as she looked from Asami's stomach to her face. "How far along are you?"

Asami sighed. "Three and a half months" she said quietly as she looked around to make sure nobody could hear them. "It's getting hard to hide it. I had a close call with Ikki a week ago"

Jinora nodded as she remembered Ikki's complaints about getting in trouble. "You'll have to tell them all soon, or people are going to start guessing"

Asami sighed. "Once we have (y/n) back" she said as she turned back to the way that the path lead. "For now I'm just gonna stick to baggy shirts" Asami smiled as she made a mental note to go buy some baggy shirts.

(Y/n) held his makeshift slingshot in his hand as he eyed the commander of the camp. It was rare that he came down into their midst while they were forced to work. This was a unique opportunity.

"Hey!" (Y/n) stomped over to the man. One of the guards went to stop him but the commander motioned for him to let (y/n) speak. "You're going to let me go"

The commander smirked as he heard that. "Am I?" He asked as he crossed his arms. "And why would I do that? You didn't even say please"

"I-" (y/n) frowned. "See what this place has done to my manners? I didn't even say please!"

The commander shook his head as he bent the earth so it formed a sword which he pulled from the ground. "Don't raise your voice to me" he pointed his sword at (y/n), a couple inches from his throat.

By now they had attracted quite the audience. The commander realized this and looked around. "Alright, let's make this a lesson to you all! I don't lose when it comes to combat" he walked a few steps back, putting space between them so (y/n) knew he was being given at least a bit of a chance. "If you win, you go free. If I win you remain a slave, willingly and until the day I die"

"Deal" (y/n) smirked. "Let us begin"

Just as the commander began to charge with his sword,  (Y/n) pulled a small piece of plastic from his pocket, alongside his makeshift slingshot.

"Here we go" (y/n) quickly shot the projectile at his captor. Normally this wouldn't do much other than annoy the man but (y/n) used his air bending to push the rock to unnatural speeds. It would have gone through the man's head, had he not been wearing a helmet on his head.

He fell unconscious right in the middle of the camp, for all to see.

Then all hell broke loose as the guards began to pull out their weapons.

(Y/n) pushed the helmet off of the commanders head before lifting him by the hair for all to see, using his bending to help him lift the heavier man.

"You all heard him, I'm free to go" he glared at the guards as he held the man higher.

The guards glanced at each other before one nodded.

"Good" (y/n) dropped the commander and suddenly used his bending to knock the guards down.

That distraction was all the time that the other prisoners needed to attack their captors.

(Y/n) fled the battlefield in search of his stolen stuff. It took half an hour but finally, as the fighting began to die down, he found everything.

Once he was out of his prisoner uniform and back in his wingsuit the boy was out of the camp as soon as he could be. He was sure that with the vast variety of benders in that camp that they'd all make it out too, but right now he just needed to get back home.

He glided as far as he could use the winds to make himself go before he got exhausted from the mix of malnutrition, dehydration, and all the other side effects of a month in hell.

Another two days passed before Asami visited the bison again. "Hey boy" she petted him affectionately. "You're looking strong" he was also looking lonely, upset to be away from his partner. "Strong enough to fly perhaps?"

The bison bellowed and lay down so as to let Asami ride him. "Atta boy" Asami was in the saddle soon enough. "Yip yip" the bison seemed to struggle for a moment before it slowly floated up into the sky. "I know it hurts, but we have to find (y/n)" Asami spoke quietly to the animal.

The bison bellowed again in acknowledgment before beginning to ascend as it flew back in the direction that it had last seen its partner.

Asami sighed as she lay down in the saddle. Now that she thought about it, how was she sure that the bison would know where (y/n) was? Would they just have to wander the earth kingdom until they found him? None of these questions had occurred to her in her hormone induced need to find her husband.

"This was a bad idea" Asami hurried her face in her arms as she curled into a ball. She shouldn't have left the safety of the temple, anything could happen out here, and anything that happened to her by extension happened to her baby.

She sat up and lifted her shirt slightly to stare at her baby bump. "Beizon!" She called out to the bison. "Take us back home!" The creature cried out an argument.

Asami had been rash and stupid and any other number of choice descriptors. She had to accept that she couldn't help. She was just putting more people at risk.

She put her shirt back down, hiding her pregnant belly once again. "I said take us home!" She ordered the creature as she teared up.

She knew it was irrational to go out and search on her own, most of the airbenders were already out searching for (y/n), but the fact that she could do nothing to help broke down her walls.

She wrapped her arms around herself and cried silently as the bison turned around, sadly obeying her command.

Pema was down in the stables when they returned, as if she had anticipated what had happened. "Come here" she opened her arms as Asami stumbled out of the saddle of the beast and proceeded to break down into her arms.

(Y/n) had been surprised to learn that after passing out in a random family's backyard he had proceeded to sleep for two days once they had taken him inside to care for him. He would have been surprised by their kindness had he not known just how good some people could be.

He slipped out of their home in the middle of the night. It was better that way. They wanted to continue to try to help him, but that would only bring Kuvira and her might down on them. If he left now then they still had a chance.

A few miles away from the family home, (y/n) fished a Bison whistle from his pocket and blew into it. It was just about silent for him, but Bison would hear it loud and clear.

He waited for five minutes before losing hope that his friend was anywhere nearby. He had been trying this every couple hours or so that he had been awake since he had left the labor camp. It never seemed to work.

He clutched the whistle in his fist as he stared up at the sky. "Where are you?" He mumbled. He wasn't sure how to get home without his Bison. He wasn't even sure which way home was.

"I want my wife" he mumbled pathetically as he fell back onto his butt and cradled his head in his hands as tears began to fall.

He stayed there like that for a long while, about an hour or so. Finally he stood again, wiped his tears away, and blew into the whistle with all the air bending strength that he could muster. Then he continued his walk.

Jinora sat in meditation atop her bison as she did her best to try and track her brother. She had a faint sense of him but it was hard to keep a hold of it.

Much like Asami she had grown tired of waiting for the others to find her brother. And unlike Asami she could actually prove the most efficient at finding him.

"Come on" Jinora whispered to herself as she struggled to keep a hold on the soul of her brother. "Where are you?"

Down below them they passed earth empire town after earth empire town. It was risky for them to be here, but she didn't care at the moment.

"Gotcha!" Jinora's eyes widened and she scampered over to the reigns so she could change their direction. "Hurry up! Yip yip!" She snapped the reigns to make the beast go faster, she didn't know how long she'd be able to keep a hold on her brother's direction.

He was passed out when Jinora arrived, lying in the dirt. "(Y/n)?" The girl looked down at her brother with wide eyes. He didn't look healthy.

"Come on" she struggled to pick him up but she was able to do it and she carried him onto her bison.

"Jinora?" She heard the boy mutter as she put him down in the saddle.

"(Y/n)!" The girl fell down to her knees at his side and hugged her brother. "Where have you been?"

The boy groaned but hugged his sister back. "You know... liberating labor camps... sleeping... being slave labor... the usual"

Jinora tightened her grip on her brother as she heard the last part. "I think you should stay out of the field for a bit" she muttered quietly into his shoulder.

"I think I should stay out of the field forever" the boy replied tiredly as he leaned into his sister. "I'm gonna be a dad, I'm not leaving my family ever again"

Jinora smiled and hugged her brother tighter. "You're going to be the best dad. Let's get you home"
