ONE

CASSIA IVORY , was currently in the dance studio. Clearing her head of the past couple of months. The torturous months of always arguing with her favorite person, Xavier. There was a random playlist on the speaker as she just shuffled her library. It was a sad and slow song. Cassia sighed with her hands on her hips looking into the mirror that covered a whole wall. Her hair was in a loose low bun. She hadn't brought her pointe shoes to the studio as it was a last minute decision.

Cassia kicked off her shoes leaving her in just socks, sweatpants and a t-shirt. She mentally cursed at her outfit choices for doing turns and wished she stopped by her dorm and grabbed a white tank top with some biker shorts. She placed her arms out in front of her and started to she started to do second turns but soon lowered her leg into a regular turn. She was aiming for a coupee into an aerial but before she went to flip, she slipped and fell. Catching herself with her hands.

"Fuck!" Cassia yelled out before turning her body around to sit on her butt on the cold floor. She sat there and contemplated about what went wrong on the coupe. She gritted her teeth before pushing herself off of the floor and looked back at herself in the mirror. A piece of hair was fallen out of the bun. She tucked it behind her ear. She went again with the turn sequence with a lot more power and determination to make the coupe into the aerial. She fell out of the second turns with an agitated groan, throwing her head back.

Cassia once again looked in the mirror and ripped her shirt off of her body, leaving her in a sports bra. That's the only good thing she planned. She took a couple of breaths as the song changed to another sad song. Cassia got back into position, hella determined to make this. The second turns were going well. As she was spinning she started to put her leg down to get a little momentum into the coupe. Cassia grinned at the successful coupe and went into the aerial.

Without much thinking she crashed to the floor onto her side as she slipped in the takeoff of the aerial. Cassia rolled onto her back looking at the lights in the ceiling, wishing she could be a simple lightbulb with no responsibility or pressure. She sat up with a slight ache in her side, she brushed it off and she got up again and faced the mirror. Cassia clenched her jaw in anger before doing the second turns, nailing them. Then into the coupe, nailed it. Aerial was flawlessly perfect. But Cassia still grunted in frustration.

It wasn't perfect. Not to her. Cassia felt tears welling in her eyes, daring to slip out. Cassia tilted her head back as a way to keep the tears in. One managed to get out and crept down her face, her cheek, over her mouth and landing on the floor with a drip. Cassia eventually blinked back the tears before tilting her head to look at the singular tear drop on the floor, knowing that Xavier Thorpe was the cause of that tear.

Cassia pushed her thoughts away and grabbed her shirt from the floor and her phone before leaving the dance studio. She walked outside and immediately swore at the earth for having rain come down on her. She didn't try and run away from the rain. It felt nice on her heated body from the previous workout. Her long hair was getting drenched with the water and slight sizzling noises could be heard when the rain collided with her skin. The rain diminishing the fire of the dragon inside her.

She reached the school and headed inside with water dripping from her body. She didn't care about the hardwood floors getting damaged from the water. This hellhole was old enough as it is. Her shoes squeaked against the floor as she walked. Cassia cringed at the thought of being like a cartoon character trying not to make noise. Her shirt was clung to her body from the rain and she was nearing the hall of Xavier's room, where she had to pass in order to get to her room. She took a deep breath before stopping in front of the door to Xavier's room.

Before she could knock the door swung open showing Xavier in some old clothes that had been stained with paint and random sweatpants. "Hi." Cassia managed to squeak out in the silence. Xavier rolled his eyes before grabbing her wrist and pulling her inside the dorm room. She let out a small yelp at the sudden movement. "You're soaking wet." Xavier deadpanned causing Cassia to roll her eyes. "No shit, Sherlock."

Xavier glared at Cassia, heading towards his drawers and pulling out one of his t-shirts and tossing it at her. "You know you aren't supposed to be in water." Xavier explained as Cassia walked by him into the bathroom to change her shirt. Cassia peeled the wet shirt from her body before letting it fall into the hamper that was in the bathroom. It hit the bottom with a squishy sound and Cassia felt herself cringe at the sound. She shrugged it off before pulling the shirt over her body getting engulfed in Xavier's scent. Her body decompressed at the warm clothes touching her skin, pleasing the dragon inside her.

"It was just a little rain, I know what I'm doing." Cassia finally responded as she walked out of the bathroom to see Xavier sitting on the bed with his hair now pulled back into a half up half down style with a bun in the back. Cassia laughed at the poorly attempted bun as she took a seat right next to him. Cassia took the ponytail out of his hair before sectioning the hair out and pulling his hair into a nice messy bun that actually looked presentable, as she's worn a bun like this to classes too many times to count. Xavier muttered a thanks.

There was a silence between the two of them. And they both thanked nobody for the fact that Rowan wasn't in the shared dorm room. "I'm sorry." Xavier said breaking the silence. Cassia looked up at him in a monotone stare. Cassia didn't say anything for a couple of seconds. "It's okay." Cassia looked back down at the bed before the argument flashed in her mind.

"Why do you always insist on being PERFECT! It's annoying Cassie." Xavier shouted at Cassia who was standing a few feet away from him as his words stabbed her in the heart. "Why do you always have to be a fucking loser who only cares about his precious drawings!" She shouted back before realizing what she said. But it was too late to take it back. Xavier's jaw clenched and his tongue ran over his bottom teeth in anger. It was a staring contest between them. And Cassia wasn't one to give up easily.

She felt her eyes shift from her green eyes to her purple dragon eyes. Xavier scoffed at the action and blinked first. "You are never going to be perfect, Cassia." With those words cutting through her heart she felt tears swell in her eyes. She was not about to cry in front of Xavier. Not now. Not ever. Cassia clenched her jaw and spat out, "fuck you, Thorpe." She turned away from him and hastily walked out of his dorm room making sure to use her dragon strength to slam the door causing the wood to splinter.

Cassia shook off the memory and found Xavier staring at her. "What?" She questioned. Xavier didn't answer with a word, instead he just laughed causing the both of them to forget about the arguments they've had.

7:30 AM

The annoying beeping of an alarm clock woke Cassia up. She groaned as she tried to turn around and shut it off. But to her surprise she couldn't move and suddenly realized where she was. She groggily opened her eyes to find Xavier's body next to her in a peaceful sleep. His arms wrapped around Cassia's waist. Cassia wished they could stay like this forever. But they had class that day.

Cassia managed to wiggle her way out of his grip without waking up to roll over and look at the time. "Shit!" She yelled, her eyes opening wide in fear. The yell woke Xavier up. "What the fuck is with the yelling?" He asked particularly to no one but still expected a response from someone or something. "Get up Xavi! It's 7:30!" With Cassia's words sinking into his foggy brain, Cassia was rushing around his room trying to see if she had an extra uniform here still. She didn't.

She didn't have time to put on her shoes or change out of Xavier's shirt. "I have to go to my room. My shit is all there from when I did laundry the other day." She rushed out of Xavier's room with her shoes in her hand as it was no point in putting them on. Luckily no one was in the hall at the moment to see her come out of his room and think she was doing the walk of shame. Within no time she reached her own dorm room and opened the door hastily. Classes started in less then 10 minutes and she still had yet to do her hair and she didn't shower last night after being all sweaty. It was going to be a bad day Cassia thought as she opened up her closet and grabbed her uniform quickly putting it on.

Cassia ran to the bathroom, grabbing her deodorant from the counter. She rubbed the gel against her armpits hopefully enough that no one would be able to tell she didn't shower after dance. The bell rang signaling that classes had started and Cassia was no where near presentable to her peers. Grabbing the hairbrush and quickly combing through her long hair, she grabbed a ponytail and pulled her hair back into a high messy bun. She had no time to do her makeup so plain face it was. Running through her room she grabbed her bag from the handle of her chair where school work was completed for the next week.

She left her dorm room and started running down the hall, her shoes echoing off the walls of the school. Cassia wasn't paying much attention to her footing and before she knew it, she ate shit.

Cassia groaned and contemplated just staying there with some of her dignity intact but her perfect attendance would suffer if she didn't go to class. Cassia slowly got herself up and hastily walked to class being mindful of her surroundings, careful not to trip once more and get bruises. Not just physical ones but mental ones as well.

She strolled into pottery class a whole 10 minutes late as it was on the opposite side of the school from her hall. She opened the door and it creaked loudly catching everyone's attention on Cassia. "A little late aren't we ms. ivory?" Mrs. Lutz asked and she nodded cautiously before heading to her seat next to Enid and Katie, her only friends in that class. She shot them a small smile as she focused her attention on the lecture.

After the lecture and they had work time for their upcoming project Enid started talking away. "Cassia! Did you hear?" She asked Cassia as she was just sketching out a design for the project. She gave a slight shake of her head signaling no. "Well, there's going to be a new student today! And she's going to be my roommate!" Enid squealed out.

Cassia's ears perked up at the new student comment and she unknowingly growled out at the thought of a new student in the middle of the semester. Cassia bit her tongue to hold back her words and just continued to work on her project. Soon after the bell rang and they were all dismissed. Cassia felt like she was hungover for no reason. She walked herself to the quad without Enid next to her as she talked about having to go back to her dorm room.

The quad was filled with the sirens, which Cassia did not like the sirens, the gargoyles, a little bit more tolerable, and splotches of other varieties. They all banded together in their own groups of their species, Cassia longed for that. She was one of the only dragons in the world. Her mother being one of them. Cassia spotted Xavier drawing on the walls of the school. Cassia had a mischievous idea to scare him.

She ignited her pointer finger with just a little bit of heat and poked Xavier's side. Xavier gasped as his body went sideways causing the drawing to have a line down the middle of it. "I hate when you do that." Xavier said scolding her while trying to fix the drawing on the wall. "Yeah, well your body is really cold. I sometimes think you have hypothermia." Cassia joked before raising her hand to the drawing and burning away the unwanted mark.

All while this was happening, Wednesday Addams was watching, no, not watching, studying. "That is Xavier Thorpe, our resident tortured artist. And the girl next to him is Cassia Ivory. A big wad of perfection. And one of the only dragons in the world." Enid explained to Wednesday earning a monotone response, "fascinating."

"A little bit more about Cassia, she's the captain of our dance team and basically coach at this point. There's something unknown going on with her and Ajax, one of the gargoyles. But other than that you don't wanna make her angry. Or you'll be met with her purple dragon eyes!" Enid rambled on about the girl who was also her friend before a guy called her name.

"Yo, Enid!" Enid turned to see Ajax there in front of them but he didn't see Wednesday behind him. Wednesday hadn't been listening for a while as she continued to survey all of the student in the quad, looking over Xavier Thorpe and Cassia Ivory a little too much to her liking.

the next day

fencing class

Cassia scowled at the thought of fencing class. It was something that she wasn't good at. No matter how many times she practiced, she never got better. And she practiced a lot. She got dressed in her fencing outfit the white outfit matching herself perfectly. Cassia came out of the locker room to see everyone else had already started fencing. And the only one left was Yoko. "Let's dance, bloodsucker." Yoko laughed at Cassia's words.

"You're awfully confident for someone who sucks at fencing." Yoko responded as she pulled her fencing mask over her face. Cassia rolled her eyes before following with pulling her mask down. Yoko came at Cassia with a lot of power. Cassia was quick to block the upcoming blow. But not being so lucky as she was caught off guard and felt the tip of the sword hit her abdomen. Yoko smirked and even though Cassia couldn't see her face, she knew that she was smirking.

They got back into position for another round. This time Cassia charged at Yoko. Yoko easily blocking her movements with ease. Cassia was getting frustrated at not winning as Yoko was advancing on her. The two swords hit and Yoko was able to push Cassia back leaving her unprotected. Yoko took the chance and pushed the sword into her abdomen. Cassia fought the urge to drive a stake through the vampire's heart.

Cassia clenched her jaw. "Come on, lizard." Yoko taunted Cassia. Cassia took the bait as she wanted to prove that she was good at fencing. The match was intense. Yoko was using her vampire strength while Cassia was using her dragon strength. As they were fencing the door opened revealing the new student in an all black fencing outfit. Cassia's attention turned to Wednesday Addams giving Yoko a clean shot at hitting her abdomen once more.

The pain took her out of the trance. Cassia was mad. Her body was heating up by the second. Soon enough the mask she was wearing melted and fell off of her head. "Water!" The fencing coach yelled out. And seconds later she was freezing cold as ice water was poured over her body. The water collided with her skin causing smoke to come out with a loud sizzling noise. "Keep your emotions in check, Ivory."

Cassia glared at his words before a unfamiliar voice came, "this is the great perfect dragon? To me it looks like a girl who doesn't know how to fence." Wednesday spoke. Cassia whipped her head to stare into her eyes. The water from earlier still diminishing her fire causing Cassia to not be able to burn this girl alive. She flashed her purple eyes at her with steam coming out of her nose as she exhaled angrily. "Says the girl with braided pigtails." Cassia snarked out pushing past her and into the locker room to dry off. Cassia was muttering curses under her breath while peeling the uncomfortable suit off of her body.

How dare the new girl speak to her like that. What's up her ass. Cassia thought as she was able to dry her whole body and hair with steam from her fingers. Before she knew it class was over and she could go and let off some actual steam. Walking out of the locker room seeing if Xavier waited for her like always but to no avail he wasn't there. Cassia shrugged it off and decided to head to his dorm room as he was probably there or at his art studio. She knocked on the door waiting for him to open the door.

She stood there waiting, and waiting. He didn't answer the door. Where could he be? He certainly wasn't painting in his uniform, he's too much of a messy painter for that. And it hadn't been nearly long enough for him to go to his dorm, get changed, and head there without bumping into Cassia. She huffed out feeling stupid for waiting at his doorstep.

She turned away and headed to the quad of bustling students, some in their uniforms, some in Nevermore 'merch' as Enid calls it. And the rest in regular clothes. It was quite a sight to see if you thought about it. Cassia shook her head of the thought and spotted the gargoyles at the far end of the quad near Xavier's drawing on the wall. She made a beeline straight to them.

As she walked through the middle of the quad she could feel all different things, from the vampires, the wolves, the sirens, the faceless, and etc. it was quite a good feeling to the almost-perfect girl. Cassia arrived at the end of one of the tables scanning the gargoyles for Ajax. She spotted him at the other end dozing off about who knows what.

Cassia rolled her eyes and walked around the table and yanked him out of his seat and headed back to the hall with him in tow like a love-sick puppy. "Cas, what are you doing?" Ajax questioned as they stopped at the front of his dorm room. "I need to let off some steam, Jax." Cassia replied trying not to turn into a dragon in the middle of the hall. Ajax moved to be in front and unlocked the door. "Ladies first," Ajax gestured as he pulled the door open wide to let Cassia in.

Cassia looked at him unimpressed and she could of sworn she heard a snake whimper. She walked into the dimly lit room and Ajax followed closing the door behind them and turning on the lights. "Cas, you can't keep coming to me to release steam." Ajax confessed half-heartedly and half-jokingly. Cassia turned to look at him with a face that said 'shut the fuck up, you love it.'

Ajax gave in rolling his eyes before striding towards Cassia. Ajax reached Cassia and wrapped his hands around her waist before leaning down. Cassia waited for it to come but instead got a small forehead kiss from one of his snakes. "Dickwad." Cassia puffed out some steam and it almost burnt Ajax's skin. He let out a small 'ow'.

Cassia looked up at him and grabbed his jaw, pulling him down so their lips met together. Ajax immediately tried to gain dominance with his tongue fighting with Cassia's. Cassia let him win and his tongue explored her mouth making her let out a small moan. Cassia could feel his smirk against her lips, she so wished he had hair so she could pull it and show who's in charge. Technically she could pull on the snakes but the last time she did that she got seriously bit. Cassia wacked his arm lightly before moving her hands up to lock around his neck.

Ajax's hands started to move down to her ass and then her thighs signaling her to jump. She did so, careful not to break the kiss. She unhooked her hands and placed them on his face as he moved towards the bed. Cassia felt herself falling onto the bed with Ajax on top of her. His hands moved up from her thighs and slipped under her shirt to rest on the bare skin of her waist. They moved further back on the bed and Cassia took her chance.

She grabbed his neck and forced him under her, she was straddling the gargoyle now. The kiss broke as they stopped to breathe a little. Their lips were both swollen from the contact. Ajax cocked an eyebrow at Cassia making her smirk before going back into the kiss again. Ajax backed up so he could be sitting up a little. The steam was diminishing from her body. But it wasn't enough. Cassia started to grind her hips ever so slightly earning a groan from Ajax.

"Cas." Ajax warned but Cassia ignored him and continued to grind against him as his cock was growing harder by the second. "I swear if you leave me with blue balls again I'm never letting you let off steam with me again." He warned as his hands fought to keep her hips in place to stop the growing erection. Cassia stifled a laugh remembering when she had left him with a massive erection as she was going to be late for dance. Ajax moved his hands down to her ass and gave a light squeeze as a warning that he was serious.

Cassia let out a gasp at the sudden touch from him. "Fine, but I swear if your snakes start moaning again I'm going to stop and give you purple and blue balls." The snakes hissed at her and she hissed back at the enclosed snakes. "Stop fighting with my snakes, it's not really a turn on."

Cassia rolled her eyes before unbuckling his pants and pulling them down just enough to expose his boxers with his cock threatening to burst out. Before pulling his boxers down Cassia returned to kissing him with lust. Ajax's hands slid to her shirt and pulled it off exposing her clothed boobs. Ajax let out a groan as Cassia grinded against once more before moving down to his boxers and pulling them down to free his hard cock. Precum was leaking from the tip making it glisten in the light.

Cassia grabbed the tip of his cock and pushed the precum down his length. Cassia started pumping his cock getting ready to put her mouth on his fat cock. She swirled her tongue around his tip causing a grunty moan to slip from his mouth. She started to take his cock full in her mouth, close to deepthroating it. But before she could give him the release he was hoping for his roommate burst into the room scaring the both of them.

Cassia accidentally lightly bite his cock in surprise, she muttered a small sorry after hearing a mumble of curses. "Sorry, I didn't mean to give you blue balls. But technically it wasn't my fault this time." Cassia said as he pulled his boxers and pants back up. "God, why can't you do that in her dorm room?" Ajax's roommate said.

Cassia just let off most of her steam and he was adding to it again. "Shut the fuck up, you know how many times I've heard you fucking a girl at night." Ajax spat back causing him to back down and he headed to the bathroom leaving the two alone again. Cassia looked back up at him and gave him a kiss before moving down to his neck pampering him with kisses as a way of saying sorry. And she also wanted to give him a hickey because why not. Before Ajax realized what she did it was too late.

"Bitch." Ajax swore pushing her slightly back. Cassia smiled back in response before grabbing one of his shirts and throwing it on and heading out the door.
