Chapter 7
There is a small island off the just off Madagascar known to the pirates as Libertatia. Libertatia is a safe haven for all pirates, a safe zone where fighting is not allow by neither pirates nor any others. Many crews go there to be able to relax and not fear being hunted or attacked. It's a beautiful island, like a paradise, with green grass, lovely beaches, trees and many other things. It's the perfect place for a wedding, one of which is about to take place.
"Oh my god, I can't believe it's really happening," Hongjoong rushed out quickly.
"Well you better believe it, you're literally going out in like 20 minutes Hongjoong," San said as he adjusted the cuff of his suit.
"Everything is ready right? I mean did we make the proper preparations? What if I forgot something? Oh god, what i-."
"Hongjoong shut up, you didn't forget anything. We've already checked every single detail over about 10 times," San said.
"I know that but we still may have missed something," Hongjoong whined, reaching up to grasp his hair. San noticed and quickly lunged forward, swatting his hand away. Hongjoong yelped, clutching it to his chest.
"Ow, that's rude," he said.
"I'm your best man and it's my job to make sure you're in perfect shape. Touch anything you shouldn't and I will chop that hand off," San said sternly.
"But doesn't that totally contradict keeping me in perfect shape? I'll have no hand," Hongjoong said.
"Then I'll give you a hook so you can become a real pirate," San said with a shrug. Hongjoong shivered at the boys nonchalance and took a small step back.
"You scare me sometimes," he said quietly.
"Whatever. The point is, everything is perfect. I've had a look and everyone is seated and the stage is just off the water's edge, everything is as it should be," San said. Hongjoong nodded, feeling relieved at his words. They had invited a few crews they've grown close to in the past years as well as other people they've come across and consider friends. The wedding venue was just the beach with the sun shining and the water sparkling behind. It was an extravagant wedding, something that cost quite a lot of money and took a lot of time to plan out but Hongjoong would do anything for the love of his life so it's still felt like not enough. Hongjoong nervously tried to tie the front of his shirt but his hands were shaking and he kept fumbling with it. San smiled at him, endeared at how clearly nervous he was despite having absolutely nothing to be nervous about.
"Here, let me help," he said softly as he tugged the string from Hongjoong's hands. Hongjoong let go and let out a long sigh.
"You good," San asked, noticing the worry crease in the Captain's eyes.
"San, what if this is a mistake," Hongjoong asked and San's eyes widened.
"Nope, no, not happening. You are not having second thoughts right now. I will not let you leave Seonghwa at the alter, I will literally drag you out there with a knife to you throat if I have to," San said quickly, tugging the tie sharply as he finished tying it up.
"What? Leave him at the alter? I would never do that. I love him more than anything in this world and I want to marry him," Hongjoong said firmly.
"You were just asking if this is a mistake," San pointed out.
"Because I feel like I'm about to have a panic attack. I'm about to marry the love of my life and I cannot be happier but it's freaking me the fuck out. You're supposed to be consoling me, reassuring me that everything's going to be ok," Hongjoong rushed out.
"Right. It's all going to be ok," San said quickly. Hongjoong whined and pushed past him as he started pacing up and down the room.
"What if Seonghwa doesn't actually want to marry me though? What if I'm dragging him through all of this because he didn't want to say no. Oh my god, I'm a monster," Hongjoong gasped. San groaned and palmed his forehead, shaking his head.
"Hongjoong, I am seriously considering sending you to a mental asylum right now. This close," San said, pinching his fingers close together.
"No, no, it's valid. What if he-."
"Kim Hongjoong, he wants to marry you. Of course he wants to marry you. You are the love of his life, just as he is yours. He is ready to marry you and he wants to marry you. You aren't forcing him to do anything and by the end of the day, you will officially have a husband," San said firmly as he clasped both of Hongjoong's shoulders to calm him down.
"But what if he doesn't," Hongjoong whispered.
"He does. Joong, I'm telling you that man loves you more than anything," San assured him.
"I know that. I'm just, scared," Hongjoong said quietly. San glance back at him and could see the fear in his eyes so he stepped forwards and hugged him quickly.
"Seonghwa loves you and he's been prepared to marry you for at least 2 years. You have nothing to be worried about," he said softly. Hongjoong let out a deep breath, raising his arms to hug San back tightly.
"Try not to squeeze me to death, I still need to be alive to give you the ring at the ceremony," San said, patting Hongjoong's back softly. Hongjoong chuckled lightly before letting San go and pulling back.
"Sannie, I'm getting married," he whispered, the fear from his eyes slipping away as happiness replaced it. San grinned and nodded quickly, giggling at how cute Hongjoong was acting.
"You are. You're getting married to our beautiful quarter master and he looks absolutely stunning today," San said with a nod.
"Oh my god, I'm getting married," Hongjoong whispered, his eyes welling up with tears.
"For Pete's sake Hongjoong, get your emotions under control," San yelped with wide eyes as he quickly yanked out his handkerchief, using it to dab at the tears in the corner of Hongjoong's eyes.
"I'm sorry, I'm just so happy," Hongjoong said softly. San smiled softly and tugged Hongjoong into another firm hug.
"I'm so happy for you as well Joongie, this is amazing. If I had of known three years ago that you were going to marry Park Seonghwa, I would've thought you were mental," San said, making Hongjoong chuckle.
"You've come so far my Captain, you deserve this," San said firmly.
"I'm so happy," Hongjoong whispered.
"So am I. I'm so happy for the both of you. I'm also really happy you chose me as your best man, the rest can all go suck it," San said, making Hongjoong laugh.
"You're my oldest friend Sannie, I've known you since I was 17. I love all you boys so much but you hold a special place in my heart and you always will," Hongjoong said softly. San went silent at that, clinging tightly to Hongjoong and the older frowned.
"Sannie," he asked softly.
"Shut up and let me cry for a second, this is your fault," San whimpered.
"Ok," Hongjoong whispered, dropping his head down onto the youngers shoulder. They stood like that for a minute or two before finally pulling away, both of them having wet eyes.
"Shit, my makeups going to get ruined. Wooyoung spent like an hour getting this done," San groaned, delicately wiping at the few tears that had managed to fall.
"It looks fine," Hongjoong assured him.
"Good, now stop making me emotional and stop being emotional," San said firmly.
"Ok. I think I'm good now anyway," Hongjoong said.
"No more crisis," San asked.
"No more crisis," Hongjoong said with a nod.
"Thank goodness. Now it's time to finish getting ready because you have about 10 minutes," San said. Hongjoong drew in a deep breath before nodding and turning back to the mirror to make sure his clothes were in order. He was wearing a white shirt with frilly lace along the collar and down the front. He was wearing a black buckled brace around his shoulders and waist over his shirt as well as black pants and a black neat jacket. Hongjoong drew in a deep breath and adjusted the collar of his jacket, making sure it was neat and slowly let out the breath.
"This is it isn't it," he said quietly.
"It is. Are you ready," San asked.
"Yeah, I'm ready," Hongjoong said with a nod.
"I'm getting married Sannie," he added with a whisper as he smiled happily.
"You are. In about, 5 minutes," San said as he checked his watch.
"I'm so excited," Hongjoong said and San smiled, noticing him wiggling happily.
"I am too, not long now," San replied with a small smile.
"Not long now," Hongjoong whispered.
~~~~~
Seonghwa's hand was shaking as he fiddled with the necklace around his neck, glancing down at how snug it fit between his collar bones.
"You doing ok," Yeosang asked softly as he walked up behind Seonghwa.
"Not really, I'm so nervous," Seonghwa admitted with a sigh.
"What are you nervous about? You're going to get married Hwa, you should be excited," Yeosang said softly.
"I know that, I know I should but um, what happens if Hongjoong has second thoughts. What if he realises this isn't what he really wants," Seonghwa said sadly. Yeosang frowned and walked in front of Seonghwa, slipping his hand into the Seonghwa's and pulling it down from his neck gently.
"Seonghwa, he loves you so much. I have never seen Hongjoong have as much love towards anyone as he has towards you. He would travel to the ends of the earth for you, all you would have to do is ask," Yeosang said softly.
"Yeah, you think so," Seonghwa asked.
"Why are you even asking this Seonghwa? Of course Hongjoong loves you. You loves you so much, more than anything. You know he loves you, right," Yeosang said.
"Of course I do, he's always been so good to me-."
"Well, not always. He did try to throw you off a ship like, multiple times," Yeosang cut in to point out.
"As I was saying, he's always been so good to me since he stopped being a protective asshole," Seonghwa said, making Yeosang laugh.
"Yes, I think that would be quite accurate," Yeosang said with a nod.
"Now why don't we go and get this beautiful piece on so we can prepare to rock Hongjoong's world," Yeosang said with a grin. Seonghwa chuckled and nodded so Yeosang hurried up and grabbed the said item. He wrapped the black corset around Seonghwa's front before beginning to tie it up at the back, tugging it to tighten it up.
"Tell me if you can't breathe," Yeosang said.
"It's fine Sangie, you can go tighter," Seonghwa said. Yeosang nodded though Seonghwa couldn't see it. He gently placed his knee on the small of Seonghwa's back, grabbing each end of the string before tugging them. Seonghwa grunted before giggling and patting his stomach.
"I think that will do," he said.
"Alright," Yeosang replied, hurrying to properly tie it up in a bow.
"Do a little spin for me," Yeosang said. Seonghwa smiled softly before doing the turn as asked and Yeosang clapped happily.
"Absolutely beautiful. Let's get your glove on," Yeosang said, hurrying over to grab it. Seonghwa held out his hand and Yeosang quickly slipped the glove on, pulling it all the way up and over Seonghwa's elbow. He then grabbed a bracelet, clipping that onto his wrist with the glove. He then gave Seonghwa a once over and smiled with a nod.
"You look beautiful, Hongjoong's definitely going to cry," Yeosang said, making Seonghwa scoff.
"Don't be so dramatic Sangie, he's not going to cry over me wearing clothes," he said, rolling his eyes.
"You're right, he's going to cry seeing you walk down the aisle," Yeosang said.
"Hey Yeosang, do you um, do you know much about makeup," Seonghwa asked quietly. Yeosang's heart skipped a beat and his face lit up though he tried to dial it down.
"I do, Wooyoung is obsessed with it and loves to teach me," Yeosang said with a nod.
"Do you think you could make me pretty for Hongjoong," Seonghwa whispered, turning to look at himself in the mirror.
"You're already so pretty Seonghwa, he loves you just as you are," Yeosang said quickly.
"I know, but I want some light makeup, just to make me feel more pretty," Seonghwa said.
"Ok, I can do that. I know a natural makeup look we can do," Yeosang said with a nod.
"Do we have enough time," Seonghwa asked worriedly.
"Yeah, we have more than enough time, you just go and sit in the chair while I go and find some makeup," Yeosang said.
"There's some in the bag over there," Seonghwa said, pointing to it. Yeosang nodded and hurried over, pulling it up and rummaging through before he found the makeup kit.
"This will do well," he said hurrying back over and setting everything out on the table.
"Looking good," he said quietly as he arranged them properly. He set to work, quickly doing Seonghwa's makeup, making sure he didn't overdo it and only accentuated his main attributes. He was done in about 10 minutes, pulling away and smiling.
"All done," he said. Seonghwa stood up and quickly went over to the mirror, turning to it and smiling happily, his hands coming up to cup his face.
"It's so beautiful," he whispered.
"No, you're beautiful. All the makeup does is just make it more obvious," Yeosang said. Seonghwa is one of the most beautiful people he has ever seen in his life and he never wants him to doubt that.
"I feel pretty," Seonghwa whispered. Yeosang smiled and hugged him tightly, resting his head on Seonghwa's shoulder.
"You are very pretty," he said with a nod.
"I can't believe I'm getting married Sangie. I'm going to have a husband in a couple of hours," Seonghwa said quietly.
"Yes, you are. You and Hongjoong will be married. You'll be the Pirate King's wife," Yeosang said with a grin.
"Yes I will. It has a nice ring to it don't you think," Seonghwa said.
"It really does and it suits you," Yeosang said with a nod.
"You ready for this," he added.
"I'm still really nervous even though I know I don't need to be," Seonghwa said.
"That's alright. As soon as you step out the door, you will see Hongjoong waiting for you at the alter and all those worries will go away," Yeosang promised.
"Are you sure," Seonghwa asked.
"Close your eyes for me," Yeosang said. Seonghwa was confused but nodded and slipped his eyes closed.
"Now I want you to picture you standing at the end of the aisle while looking at Hongjoong waiting for you down the other end," Yeosang said. Seonghwa pictured it in his mind and his worries went away in an instant, his heart lifting.
"I love him so much," he whispered, opening his eyes once again.
"Yes, you do. Which is why you're going to be so happy going out there," Yeosang said. Seonghwa's face lightened and his eyes lit up.
"Let's do this," he said with a firm nod.
"Perfect, except you've still got another 10 minutes before you need to head out. Hongjoong should be leaving in about 5 minutes to get out to the stage," Yeosang said quickly.
"Right, right, I have to wait," Seonghwa said with a nod, sitting down on the chair. Just as he did that, there was a knock on the door to the room. Yeosang jumped up quickly, running over to the door to make sure if it was Hongjoong, he didn't come inside and see Seonghwa. He opened the door slightly and peaked his head through, relaxing when he saw it was just Yunho.
"Hey, I just wanted to come and see how everything is going," Yunho said.
"Come in and see him," Yeosang said with a grin, stepping to the side and letting Yunho come in. When he walked inside, his eyes instantly found Seonghwa who had stood and was looking at him.
"Seonghwa you look beautiful," he gasped, hurrying forwards. He paused in front of Seonghwa, his hands hovering over Seonghwa, too nervous to touch as he looked so ethereal.
"Oh Yunnie, you're going to make me cry," Seonghwa said quietly.
"Seonghwa you look stunning, I'm not kidding. Hongjoong is going to die when he sees you," Yunho said, finally resting his hand down on Seonghwa's shoulder lightly.
"I said he would start crying. Would you like to bet on it," Yeosang asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"No, not at all," Yunho replied instantly, shaking his head.
"What do you mean no? I will take that bet," Seonghwa said.
"Perfect. If Hongjoong cries, you're doing my dishes duties for a month," Yeosang said, holding out his hand.
"Deal," Seonghwa said with a nod, grasping Yeosang's hand, shaking it quickly. Yeosang held back a wide grin, knowing he just won an easy month off dishes. Hongjoong may be the well-known, fierce and feared Pirate King but his heart beats for Park Seonghwa and his emotions key into that as well.
"Hugs guys," Seonghwa said, holding out his arms. Yeosang and Yunho quickly hurried over and hugged him tightly. Seonghwa glanced down at the two of him before his mind drifted to the other boys. Hongjoong has San, Wooyoung and Mingi to be on his side for the vows while Seonghwa has Yeosang, Yunho and Jongho.
"Yunho, can you get Jongho please? I want the three of you walking with me down the aisle together," Seonghwa said. Yunho smiled and nodded before hurrying away. Seonghwa drew in a deep breath, knowing he was only minutes away from walking down the aisle and getting married.
~~~~~
"Are you ready to go," Jongho asked as he fixed up a strand of Seonghwa's hair.
"Yeah, I'm ready," Seonghwa said with a nod.
"Good. Sangie, do you have the ring," Jongho asked, turning to the medic.
"Right here," Yeosang said with a nod, patting his breast pocket.
"This is it Hwa, shall you lead the way," Yunho asked, waving his hand out in front of him.
"No, can you do it please Sangie. I can have Jongho and Yunho on each arm and you can come out in front first to walk down the aisle," Seonghwa said.
"Of course I can do that. I'll see all of you in a bit," Yeosang said with a nod. He gave Seonghwa one last nod before leaving the room. His heart was racing excitedly in his chest as he left the building and walked down the small path to get to the beach where the wedding was being held. He heard the announcement for Seonghwa and stepped out, drawing all heads in the service. There were about six or seven crews that he recognised, amongst them being Enhypen near the front, all grinning happily. Yeosang drew in a deep breath before walking down the aisle with measured steps. He clasped his hands in front of himself so he wouldn't fiddle with them and looked up to the stage. Hongjoong was standing there with a fond smile, watching him closely. He looked just as beautiful as Seonghwa had and Yeosang felt proud despite being younger. The two of them had come so far in the past few years. When Yeosang got to the told of the steps where the other four were standing lined up, Hongjoong in the front, he went to bow down. Before he could however, Hongjoong grabbed him and pulled him into a tight hug that he was quick to reciprocate.
"You look stunning Hongjoong," he whispered.
"As do you. Is he ok," Hongjoong asked quietly.
"He's perfect, you're gonna cry," Yeosang replied with a grin before pulling back and going to his place. Hongjoong's eyes were wide as he glanced over at Yeosang but Yeosang just smiled and didn't give anything away. His eyes were pulled away from him as a bell suddenly rang. His head snapped back to the entrance of the carpet, his heart racing in anticipation. When Seonghwa stepped out, all of Hongjoong's breath left his throat. He looked beautiful and he was-. Hongjoong's brain short-circuited when he saw the corset wrapped around Seonghwa's torso, accentuating his small hips. He held back a groan and looked down, shaking out his shoulders before looking back up. Seonghwa walked down with Jongho and Yunho on either side of him, helping down the aisle and Hongjoong couldn't take his eyes off him. It him full force then, that this was it, he was actually going to marry the love of his life. He wanted to keep looking but he felt his himself getting choked up and had to look away. Yeosang giggled to himself as he noticed Hongjoong look away and saw how watery his eyes were. He was really about to cry.
Seonghwa was walking along the path towards the stage, his eyes meeting Hongjoong's and he saw nothing but love. Hongjoong looked gorgeous as well and just merely seeing him, calmed all of Seonghwa's nerves. Seonghwa continued walking, noticing how after about 10 seconds, Hongjoong looked away. It made Seonghwa nervous but he kept walking, going up the steps until he was at the very top and Hongjoong finally looked up again. Seonghwa gasped as he saw the tears in Hongjoong's eyes, a few slipping down his cheek.
"Hongjoong," he whispered.
"Sorry, you just, you look so beautiful," Hongjoong said with a sniffle.
"Oh my god Hongjoong, stop crying, you're going to make me cry," Seonghwa said, whacking his shoulder.
"Sorry," Hongjoong said but only cried harder, slipping his hand into Seonghwa's. The others watching the two of them laughed and Seonghwa giggled.
"Come on, it's ok," he said, rubbing Hongjoong's back softly. Hongjoong sniffled again before drawing in a deep breath, tilting his head up and dabbing away at the tears quickly.
"Sorry, I'm good, I'm good," he said quickly as he looked back down.
"You sure? You aren't going to start crying again," Seonghwa teased, making Hongjoong roll his eyes.
"You do realise you just cost me to do extra dishes for a month right," Seonghwa added.
"How," Hongjoong asked with a confused frown.
"Yeosang bet that you would cry and I stupidly bet against him," Seonghwa said with a huff, making everyone laugh again while Hongjoong blushed.
"Stupid bets," Hongjoong muttered, stroking Seonghwa's hand softly.
"Can you both shut up and do your vows," Wooyoung asked.
"Can you shut up and be patient," Seonghwa snapped back.
"No, I want my dads married so hurry up," Wooyoung said with a pout. Seonghwa rolled his eyes but turned to the man beside him that was going to run them through the motions.
"We're ready," he said with a nod. The man smiled and stepped up, opening his little bit. Seonghwa nervously squeezed Hongjoong's hand and Hongjoong, rubbed it in reassurance, reaching up to grab his other one and holding it gently.
"We are gathered here today to celebrate one of life's greatest moments and to cherish the words which shall unite Kim Hongjoong and Park Seonghwa in marriage," the officiant began. Seonghwa sucked in a breath, trying to keep himself from tearing up and Hongjoong noticed, rubbing his thumbs over the top of Seonghwa's hands to soothe him.
"Marriage is the promise between two people who love each other, and who trust in that love, who honour each other as individuals, and who choose to spend the rest of their lives together." Seonghwa sniffled slightly and Hongjoong mouthed 'it's ok' to him, stepping a little closer to him.
"This ceremony will not create a relationship that does not already exist between the two of you. It is a symbol of how far you have come these past few years. It is a symbol of the promises you will make to each other to continue growing stronger as individuals and as partners. No matter what challenges you face, you now face them together and no matter how much you succeed, you now succeed together. The love between you joins you now as one," the officiant finished before stepping back to allow them to do their vows. Seonghwa was getting a little choked up still so he looked to Hongjoong quickly.
"You go first," he whispered and Hongjoong nodded.
"I spent hours staying awake trying to figure out what to say to you in this moment, how to explain what life has felt like with you by my side but I couldn't really find the words. Nothing feels like it's enough to be able to express just how much I love you. I still remember when you first came on to the ship, curled up in Mingi's arms. I was prepared to get rid of you then and there, to protect my crew but I am so glad our kids talked me out of it because I don't think I can picture a life without you anymore," Hongjoong said softly. Wooyoung burst into tears at that, noting how Hongjoong had called them their kids in front of the people there without hesitation. San chuckled and tugged the younger boy into a hug, holding him close. Wooyoung sniffled and buried his head into his neck, desperately trying not to ruin it for Hongjoong and Seonghwa. The two eldest did not care however as they both turned to him, Hongjoong chuckling and ruffling his hair.
"You ok," he asked and Wooyoung nodded quickly.
"Sorry guys, we can be a bit of an emotional bunch," Hongjoong called out to the crowd, making them laugh. Hongjoong grinned and turned back to Seonghwa.
"We took a while to warm up to each other and if you had told me in the first few weeks of us meeting that I would one day be marrying you, I would tell you that you were absolutely mental. We had a bit of a rocky start but once we found our footing, it's only been up from there. Park Seonghwa you are my world, you are my rock. I am so glad that I have you in my life, that I have you here to guide me and I can't wait to finally be able to call you my husband," Hongjoong said, smiling softly and squeezing Seonghwa's hand again.
"Why did you have to come up with a good speech, how am I supposed to trump that," Seonghwa whined wetly, making the others have another round of laughs.
"It's not a competition my love," Hongjoong said. Seonghwa sighed and begun to talk but Hongjoong tuned him out completely as something caught his eye. The wedding was happening close to a corner of the island and a ship had just come around it, sailing quickly through the water. Hongjoong was confused as everyone who had been invited to the wedding were already there so he didn't know why this other ship was coming. He furrowed his eyebrows, trying to look closer before his eyes widened as he noticed the cannons on the ship raising.
"EVERYBODY GET DOWN," he screamed, lunging forwards and tugging Seonghwa back, putting his body between Seonghwa and the ship as the cannons went off.
