Chapter 13

"This is getting ridiculous. He hasn't come out of that god damn room in three weeks. We've been following whispers and rumours about this fucken crew that took Seonghwa and doing our best to find him while Hongjoong has been holed up in his room," Mingi said angrily as he slammed his hand down on the table. Yeosang jolted at the sound as they were all sat around the dinner table. Wooyoung frowned in annoyance at Mingi, running his hand up and down Yeosang's back softly.

"Mingi, you can't blame him," San said quietly.

"Can't we though? Look I understand that he's grieving for losing Seonghwa but so are we. We all love him, he is family. But he isn't dead, not yet anyway. He's acting like he's gone forever rather than helping to get him back," Jongho said.

"Because it's different for him. Seonghwa is his husband Jjong. Seonghwa is his rock, the one that keeps him calm and keeps him sane and he lost that. No, no it was ripped away from him in what was supposed to be the happiest moment of his life. No one saw it coming," San said with a frown.

"We understand that San, we all do. But we need our Captain right now. Don't get me wrong Yunho, you're doing a good job but it shouldn't be on you. You left that role years ago," Mingi said.

"Look, we've tried to get him out but he won't listen. What more are we supposed to do? At least now he's eating some of the food we leave in front of the door," Yeosang said with a sigh.

"There has to be something else we can do," Wooyoung said quietly.

"We need to try and talk to him more. No one has tried to talk to him in the past week so we have to try again," Jongho said.

"He won't listen to anyone Jongho. Any time someone tries to do something, he just yells," Wooyoung said.

"Not San though. We all know he has a soft spot for San, he's the person he has known the longest. God, he was even Joong's best man for the wedding," Mingi said with a sigh.

"I agree. San, it would be best if you try to talk to him. He might listen to you," Yunho spoke up gently.

"Look, I can try but I don't think he's going to listen to me either. I've tried before and he just told me to go away," San said shaking his head.

"You won't know unless you try. We'll go from there after we see what happens," Yunho said and San nodded.

"I'll talk to him after lunch but for now let's all finish eating," San said, gesturing to all of the food laying on the table. The others all nodded before they continued eating in silence. San sighed and glanced out the window over at the Captain's Quarters. Mingi was right, it's been three weeks of them desperately searching for Seonghwa, picking up a trail but never quite catching up and throughout the entire time Hongjoong has remained in his room just slowly withering away. He was but a shell of the man San had grown to know and love but he was still Hongjoong.

~~~~~
Once everyone had finished eating, they all went and did their own thing. Yunho went to helm to make sure they were still on course, Yeosang went to double check the medical supplies, Wooyoung went to storage to check inventory, Mingi took all of the dishes to wash and Jongho went down to work off some of his energy. San sighed to himself as he got up, stretching out his shoulders as he walked over to the Captain's Quarters. He paused outside, drawing in a deep breath to gather his thoughts and prepare himself. Every time in the last couple of weeks that someone has tried to get Hongjoong to come out, he has yelled and screamed at them. While it won't actually physically hurt them, it still hurts to see their beloved big brother in a state like that. San has idolized Hongjoong since he was 16 years old so seeing him like this hits him hard.
He drew in one last deep breath before knocking on the door. As expected, there was no reply from Hongjoong inside so he knocked again, still receiving no reply. He groaned before grabbing the door handle, twisting it and slowly opening the door. He poked his head inside to see how everything looked, to assess the situation. The room was in ruins, things thrown all around the place, broken bits of wood scattered around from his desk. San frowned, noticing there was something blocking the door and stopping him from being able to open it further. He glanced over at the bed, seeing Hongjoong's form curled up on it. He grit his teeth before putting his weight on the door, pushing on it as it moved slowly. When he had a big enough gap, he squeezed his body through, slipping inside. He walked further into the room and over to the bed where Hongjoong was laying.
"Hey Joong, it's San," he said quietly as he stood beside the bed. Hongjoong wasn't facing him though and he didn't show any sign of a reaction to his words.
"Hongjoong, I know you're hurting over what happened. I can not imagine the pain you are in right now at not having Hwa with you, at not knowing what has happened to him. I understand that you are hurt but your crew still needs you, your family still needs you," San said gently.
"Leave." Hongjoong's voice sounded hoarse and San winced when he heard it.
"Joong we need you, we need our brother right now. We're on the trail, we will find him but the boys are struggling without your leadership," San said, desperately trying to get through to Hongjoong.
"Leave," Hongjoong repeated.
"Please Joong plea-." San was cut off with a gasp. He had placed his hand on Hongjoong's shoulder when the older spun around quickly with a pale face and bloodshot eyes. He lunged at San, knocking him over and making them both crash to the ground. San let out a groan as his head collided with the corner of a piece of wood. He went to shove Hongjoong off but he was slammed into the ground again and pinned down.
"Hongj-." He yelped as Hongjoong's hands wrapped around his throat, making him freeze. He had him pinned down like that, not yet squeezing but still wrapped around, a reminder of what he could do. San has never been scared of Hongjoong, never thought he could actually hurt him but when he looked into his eyes, he didn't see his loving big brother, the person he sees as a father figure. Instead he saw the eyes of someone who was wild, someone who was tipped over the edge and didn't seem quite with it.
"Hongjoong," he whispered softly, not wanting to set him off.
"You don't get to tell me I'm not pulling my weight. You don't get to make it seem like I'm just lazing about, that I don't give a shit about my husband being gone," Hongjoong said angrily, his hands tightening slightly. How dare someone come into his room and accuse him of not doing his duties. How dare this guy tell him he wasn't doing enough. San sucked in a deep breath, trying to shift his body away but Hongjoong was sitting on his hips and pinning him down pretty well.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insinuate that," he said quietly.
"So you were insinuating that. Huh, you think I'm a worthless nothing huh, that I'm pathetic just staying here. That I'm not doing my duties as a Captain," Hongjoong growled, pushing down harder. He wouldn't stand for it, for someone looking down on him like that. San whimpered and his hands shot up to clutch at Hongjoong's arms, curling around his wrist.
"I d-didn't," he gasped out. His air supply wasn't cut off fully but it was definitely inhibited.
"You think I'm pathetic right? You think that I'm nothing because I'm in pain, because I'm not being the big strong-."
"Joongie you're hurting me," San gasped out with a sob, cutting off Hongjoong's yelling. As Hongjoong had been talking, his hand had been tightening and San could barely find the air to gasp that out. Hongjoong froze at that, his body tensing up. He blinked quickly and shook his head, looking back down at the body beneath him. His eyes widened as they met San's fearful ones, as he realised what was happening. San was pinned beneath him, tears falling down his face and-. His hands were around his throat. Why were his hands around San's throat? Why was he hurting his crew? Why was he hurting his little brother, the person he's protected since he was a kid.
"O-Oh my god. Oh my god, San," he cried out. He quickly let go of San's neck and threw himself back, shuffling until his back hit his bed and he was no longer sitting on top of San. San gasped out for a breath, sobbing out in relief at being able to breathe again, at not having Hongjoong on top of him. He rolled onto his side, coughing out breaths and curling up slightly. Hongjoong brought his hands to his hair, clutching it tightly as his breaths quickened. He attacked San. He tried to, he could have killed San. Sure he didn't even realise what he was doing, nor did he even recognise San but he still did it. He still hurt him, something he swore to himself he would never do. He pulled his knees to his chest, looking over to see San curled up with his body shaking. Hongjoong held back a sob of his own, feeling tears well up in his eyes.
"I'm sorry Sannie, I am so sorry," Hongjoong whimpered. San curled up more, his arms wrapping around himself for comfort.
"I'm sorry, I didn't, I didn't know what I was doing. I didn't mean to hurt him," Hongjoong whimpered. San breathed in and out deeply, calming himself down. He wasn't in any danger anymore, he wasn't going to be hurt more. He slowly pushed himself up, feeling a little dizzy most likely from almost being choked out. He turned his head nervously, looking over at Hongjoong who was curled up by his bed. Their eyes met and Hongjoong's face dropped as he saw the marks around San's neck.
"Oh god, Sannie," he gasped, his hand coming up to cover his mouth. San was still scared, remembering Hongjoong on top of him but he also knew that wasn't going to happen again right now. Hongjoong was completely out of it and now he's definitely more aware. San let out a shaky breath before slowly crawling over towards Hongjoong.
"N-No. No San stay away," Hongjoong said, trying to push himself further away but there wasn't really anywhere else he could go. San didn't reply, instead staying silent as he shuffled over to sit beside Hongjoong.
"Hug," he whispered softly. Hongjoong turned to look at the younger boy, thinking he was crazy for wanting to hug the person who just almost choked him to death.
"Please," San pleaded. Hongjoong shook his head as he cried but held up his arm, allowing San to fall into his side. He hugged him tightly, tugging him closer and running a shaky hand up and down San's arm. San's eyes slipped closed and he nuzzled his head into Hongjoong's neck. He felt safer now that Hongjoong was aware and was holding him. The tears started to fall once again and he curled up closer to Hongjoong.
"I'm sorry. I am so sorry," Hongjoong whispered, shaking his head and wrapping his other arm around San's body as well.
"I almost killed you Sannie. What is wrong with me," Hongjoong said quietly.
"You're grieving. You weren't in your right mind Hongjoong. You never would have hurt me if you were," San said with a sniffle.
"No. No, it's not an excuse, it shouldn't be an excuse. You're my crew member, I promised I would never hurt any of you," Hongjoong said shaking his head.
"I'm ok though," San whispered.
"No you're not, you don't have to lie for me Sannie," Hongjoong said with a frown.
"I'm just happy you seem to have snapped out of whatever funk you were in, hopefully," San said quietly.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shut down like that," Hongjoong said shaking his head.
"You had a right to grieve Joong, your husband was taken from you on your wedding day. It's just, we needed you to snap out of it ages ago. We needed our Captain and our dad," San said with a frown.
"Dad," Hongjoong scoffed weakly.
"I was going to say brother but you call us your kids so," San said with a shrug.
"How long has it been," Hongjoong asked quietly.
"Since Seonghwa was taken, it's been almost a month," San said, making Hongjoong gasp.
"A month? No, there's no way. It's been like a week since I woke up," Hongjoong said, shaking his head.
"It's been three since we left. We've been following every lead we hear about the ship and we've been slowly catching up ground but they had a week ahead of us," San said as he lifted his head up.
"So, still no sign of Seongie," Hongjoong whispered.
"No, no sign," San said, shaking his head. Hongjoong's heart broke and he dropped his head back down to rest on San's shoulder.
"He could be dead right now," Hongjoong whispered.
"That's right, he could be. But he could also be somewhere out there trying to push through whatever is happening, picturing you to try and stay sane. It's likely that you were the target but Seonghwa was the easier one to access," San said truthfully. Hongjoong sniffled and shook his head.
"How bad are you hurt," Hongjoong asked, sniffling and pulling back to wipe his eyes.
"Not much, just some bruising," San replied.
"Were you scared, of me," Hongjoong asked quietly.
"No. No, I was terrified of the guy who had his judgement clouded. That wasn't you," San said quietly. Hongjoong's heart broke and he shook his head.
"I'm so sorry Sannie, I did-."
"It's fine Hongjoong, let's just forget about it ok. I don't even think you recognised me and you stopped as soon as you did. I'm not permanently injured, I just have some bruising," San said cutting in.
"Right now though, I just, I need you to hold me cos I'm a little out of sorts," he added quietly. He was feeling a little off, a weird tingling under his skin but it seemed to die down as he cuddled up to Hongjoong's side. Hongjoong nodded and just tugged San closer, breathing slowly to try and calm himself down.
~~~~~

"San's not back from the Captain's Quarters yet, so that must be a good sign," Wooyoung said as he walked into the medical bay where Yeosang was sitting down and writing notes. Yeosang looked up from his notes to glance at Wooyoung before continuing.

"Yeah, hopefully he can get Hongjoong to come out. It's not even just for our sake, even just for Hongjoong himself. He's been withering away in there for weeks, he probably looks like death," Yeosang said with a sigh. Wooyoung nodded though the other couldn't see him. He walked up behind Yeosang and leant down, wrapping his arms lightly around his shoulders and resting his chin on top of the olders head.

"You ok," Yeosang asked softly, tilting his head up slightly to glance at Wooyoung but the younger just hugged him tightly.

"I'm fine, just missing everyone a bit," Wooyoung admitted quietly. Yeosang put the pen down and turned around in the chair so he was looking at Wooyoung.

"Come here," he said, patting his thighs. Wooyoung pouted but crawled into his lap, his legs on either side of Yeosang's body while he dropped his head down to Yeosang's chest and cuddled close to him. Yeosang wrapped his arms around Wooyoung, letting them rest on the youngers lower back.

"Talk to me," he said softly.

"It's really nothing important," Wooyoung said with a shrug.

"If it's making you sad, then it's the most important thing to me," Yeosang said firmly.

"It's just been weird since everything happened. Everyone is so tense, Hwa is gone and Joongie hasn't left his room. Barely anyone talks to each other, we all just kind of do our own thing," Wooyoung said with a sigh.

"Hmm, I know what you mean. But Sannie and I talk to you," Yeosang pointed out.

"Well yeah, obviously, you kind of have to cos you're my boyfriend's. I'd bite you if you stopped talking to me," Wooyoung huffed.

"You bite me anyway," Yeosang said, raising an eyebrow as Wooyoung pouted.

"I love you guys, don't get me wrong. I just, miss everyone else," Wooyoung said quietly. Over the years he has gotten so accustomed to just walking up to any of the boys and hugging them or talking their ear off, that now everything just feels so sad and quiet.

"Yeah, so do I," Yeosang said with a sigh, lifting a hand to run through Wooyoung's hair.

"Do you think Seonghwa is going to be ok when we find him? Obviously he's going to be hurt and possibly badly but do you think he'll end up ok," Wooyoung asked.

"I hope so. I don't know what we'd all do if he wasn't," Yeosang replied honestly.

"I feel bad for Hongjoong. Not just because it was Seonghwa taken but also cos it's most likely to get to Hongjoong. It would kill me to find out I was the reason any of you guys had to go through so much pain," Wooyoung said sadly.

"We'll be ok baby. Yunho said we're catching up quickly so hopefully it will only be another week or two before we can get him back and then we'll figure out the rest when we get to it," Yeosang said. Wooyoung sighed but nodded before pulling back and standing up.

"We should go check and see if Sannie managed to get Hongjoong out," he said. Yeosang nodded and the two of them left the room. Wooyoung tried not to get his hopes up, knowing that Hongjoong was most likely still inside the Captain's Quarters and San was probably upset he didn't manage to get through to him. They both glanced towards the Captain's Quarters to see if there was any sign of movement but the door remained shut. Yeosang sighed and Wooyoung deflated.

"Guess it was a no go," Wooyoung said quietly.

"We'll get him out eventually, we just need to give him some more time," Yeosang said, patting Wooyoung's back gently.

"Yeah. I'm going to go make myself an unhealthy snack to eat away my feelings. Wanna join," Wooyoung asked.

"I'll catch up with you in a bit, I'm just going to finish the paperwork I was doing," Yeosang said. Wooyoung pouted but nodded, watching Yeosang walk away before he made his way to the kitchens. He froze when he walked inside though, his eyes landing Hongjoong who was sitting at the table, eating quietly by himself. Wooyoung let out a quiet noise of surprise but it was loud enough for Hongjoong to hear, making his head snap up. He looked like shit in Wooyoung's opinion, big bags under his eyes and his skin pale but he was there, in the flesh.

"Wooyoung," Hongjoong said quietly, noticing the way the cook hesitantly stayed in the doorway, seemingly unsure what to do. Wooyoung didn't say anything, just continued to stare with wide eyes as his hand instinctively clutched the door for support.

"I'm sorry," Hongjoong whispered, watching as Wooyoung shifted back slightly. Wooyoung didn't know what to do, not actually prepared to see Hongjoong after the weeks of him being shut away. Hongjoong watched worriedly as Wooyoung's face dropped and he started to sniffle. Hongjoong shot up and walked over quickly, pausing just in front of Wooyoung as he cried. Seeing the younger so upset and crying because of him made Hongjoong's eyes tear up slightly as well.

"Would you like a hug," Hongjoong asked softly. Wooyoung whimpered but nodded, all but falling into Hongjoong's arms as soon as he held them out. Wooyoung tried to hold it in but he just ended up sobbing in Hongjoong's arms. It's been weeks since he's been able to hug one of the parental figures from the crew and he knew he missed it but he didn't know just how much he did until he was engulfed in Hongjoong's arms once again.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't here for you. I'm sorry I shut you all out and yelled at you. I was hurting but so were the rest of you and I wasn't there," Hongjoong whispered. Wooyoung still didn't reply, unable to due to his sobs but he clung tighter to Hongjoong. It was clear the Captain had lost some weight but he was still able to keeping them both standing when most of Wooyoung's weight was leant onto him. Hongjoong made sure he had him secured in his arms before slowly guiding them both to sit down on the floor where it was a bit safer. Wooyoung all but crawled into his lap and Hongjoong held him tightly, burying his face into the youngers neck. He fault awful for abandoning his crew, no matter the reason. He needed to go to every single one of them individually to apologise and see what they needed from him. He needed to step up and be a proper Captain. Wooyoung continued to sob quietly for a while before he slowly started to calm down, only sniffling into Hongjoong's shirt.

"Missed you," he whispered.

"I know," Hongjoong said with a sigh, leaning down to press a kiss to Wooyoung's hair.

"You need to eat. You haven't been eating enough lately so I don't want to stop you from eating," Wooyoung whispered.

"I will eat, I promise. For now though, I'm just going to hold you," Hongjoong said quietly. Wooyoung sniffled but nodded, burrowing down in Hongjoong's hold while Hongjoong rested his back against the door frame.

"Right now I'm just going to hold you," Hongjoong repeated, tightening his hold around Wooyoung. Wooyoung nodded and they remained like that for a while, Wooyoung slowly beginning to drift off in Hongjoong's arms. The peacefulness and quiet was broken by a screaming ringing out.

"SAN." Both boys shot up, Wooyoung now wide awake as they sprinted below deck where Jongho's scream had come from. Yeosang had shot out of the medical bay, his eyes landing briefly on Hongjoong but he didn't dwell on it, instead running into their gym room and gasping.

"I don't know what happened. We were, we were just talking and then he collapsed and started convulsing," Jongho said tearfully as he had his hand slipped under San's head for protection while the navigators body shook.

"He's having a seizure," Yeosang said, dropping down beside the two of them and analysing San.

"Just keep your hand under his head so he doesn't knock it. I can't do anything until he stops seizing," Yeosang instructed as he gently turned San onto his side. Wooyoung was frozen as he watched the scene but he felt his arm get grabbed as he was tugged back.

"Come on Woo, let's give them some space," Mingi said softly, guiding Wooyoung from the room. He had been shocked to see what was happening and to also see Hongjoong there but he prioritised getting Wooyoung away so he wouldn't have to watch.

"When he fell, did he hit his head," Yeosang asked Jongho.

"I um, I don't know. I don't think so," Jongho said shaking his head. Yeosang's heart was racing but he made sure he remained calm, knowing this wasn't an instance he could panic because he didn't have the safety net of Seonghwa to step up.

"When you screamed, had he just started seizing," Yeosang asked and Jongho nodded shakily.

"Ok," Yeosang said quietly, watching as San slowly stopped seizing but remained unconscious. Hongjoong had been watching the scene quietly, his heart racing as the guilt ate him up. Did he do this? Did he cause this because he hurt San earlier?

"I need you to grab him and carry him to the medical bay for me. Don't rush, just keep him steady and be prepared to put him back down if he starts seizing again," Yeosang said. Jongho nodded and picked him up, Hongjoong stepping aside to let them through. Jongho delicately placed San down on the bed, trying not to jostle him too much.

"Thank you. You can go for now. I'm going to check him out and I'll let everyone know what's happening later. You did good Jongho," Yeosang said. Jongho nodded quietly before leaving, shutting the door behind himself so Yeosang could work uninterrupted. Yeosang quickly moved over to San and frowned. San doesn't have a history of seizures for any reason so there has to be a cause as you don't just suddenly have a seizure out of nowhere. He checked the most obvious place first, his head. He cupped the back of San's head with both hands, tilting it up slightly before he gently moved them around, feeling for any bumps. He didn't find any, however he felt something sticky and when he pulled his hand back, he saw blood. His jaw tensed in anger and he sighed. Yet again San is hiding injuries and just putting himself in more danger. He turned San onto his side and put on some gloves before doing a proper inspection of San's head.

"Shit San," he gasped as he found the wound, moving the hair out of the way to see it. It wasn't very big but it was still concerning for a head injury, especially because his skull was almost split open slightly. Thankfully it wasn't that bad but it was still concerning.

"How the hell did you manage this," Yeosang said with a sigh as he started to clean the wound. He used a special gluing agent over the wound that should help it heal quicker before wrapping a bandage around his head and then moving him to rest on his back again. He was a little worried about other possible side effects of the head injury, mainly brain bleeds that could cause the seizure so he gave San an injection that would clear it all up as well as one to calm seizures just in case it happened again. He had to roll up San's sleeve in order to do so and it made him frown as he noticed San was wearing a wool turtleneck sweater. The heat could have added to the reaction he had as he could have overheated. Who tries to work out when it's warm and he's wearing a wool sweater?

He sighed an gently moved San about, pulling his arms out of the arm holes before tugging the sweater of. He froze in shock once he had the sweater completely off before he felt anger begin to build up inside him. There were bruises on San's neck. Not just random little bruises he and Wooyoung would sometimes give him, large purpling bruises in the shape of handprints. They wrapped around his neck and were dark, meaning someone had choked him and they had choked him hard. This was recent which meant it was someone on the ship and there was only one person it could be.

Yeosang shot up and rushed to the door, swinging it open and hurrying down the hall, jogging up the steps to above the deck. The anger inside him was growing, combining with the emotions he had been carefully holding in over the past few weeks. He went straight to the kitchens to see if anyone was there but it was empty so he went back out and looked around, finding everyone by the helm. He stormed over to them quickly, gaining their attention as he wasn't being quiet.

"How's San doing," Jongho asked but he ignored him. Now Yeosang isn't a violent person by any means but he'll be damned if he doesn't protect those he loves. He went straight to Hongjoong who was frowning and punched him in the face as hard as he could.

"Yeosang, what the fuck," Wooyoung yelled, the others all making noises of shock as well. It's understandable, giving Yeosang has never actually punched someone. Wooyoung stood in front of Yeosang as a barrier while Jongho checked up on Hongjoong. Wooyoung was shocked to see Yeosang punch Hongjoong. Sure, Hongjoong had been secluded in his room for a couple of weeks but he was grieving and that doesn't warrant a punch in the face.

"Yeosang, what the hell," he said with frown. Yeosang didn't even pay attention to him, pushing him to the side to face Hongjoong again who picked himself off the ground, dabbing at his blood nose with his sleeve.

"Stay the fuck away from him do you understand me," Yeosang said angrily. Hongjoong's face dropped and he looked down at the ground.

"Stay away from who? What's going on," Yunho asked with a frown as he turned away from the helm to look at what was going on. Once again, Yeosang ignored everyone else.

"You basically split his skull open. Did you know that," Yeosang seethed, making Hongjoong look up in shock. He did not know that. Wooyoung was confused and glanced between the two of them, an uneasy feeling in his stomach.

"I didn't, I didn't mean to," Hongjoong said quietly, making the others all freeze.

"You didn't mean to? You attacked him and he just had a seizure because his head was smashed into something and it split his skull open. He has bruises covering his neck from you choking him out," Yeosang yelled, raising his hand and slapping Hongjoong harshly. Hongjoong wince at the contact but he didn't put up a fight. He deserved it, he knew he did. He deserved worse but Yeosang was far too kind for that and the others would never hurt him. Not like he hurt San.

"Wait, you hurt Sannie," Wooyoung said quietly, stepping back away from Hongjoong.

"I didn't mean to do it. I d-didn't know it was him, I didn't know what I was doing," Hongjoong said sadly. Everyone was shocked as they realised what Yeosang was saying.

"Stay the fuck away," Yeosang said angrily before grabbing Wooyoung's wrist and tugging him away.

"I'm gonna, I'm gonna go double check and make sure San's ok," Jongho said quietly before walking off, Mingi glancing at Hongjoong before following. That left Yunho and Hongjoong alone at the helm, Yunho having looked back out across the water.

"You've never hurt one of us before," he said with a sigh.

"I know. I never wanted to, I swore I wouldn't," Hongjoong said sadly. He wasn't crying, he'd had enough of crying.

"What happened," Yunho asked.

"He came to check on me I think. I don't really know what happened because I was so out of it but I heard him say I was hurting him and that's when I realised I had him pinned to the floor and was choking him. God he looked so scared," Hongjoong groaned, burying his head in his hands to try and gather himself.

"What did you do after? How did he react," Yunho asked.

"As you would expect from San. He was really good about it, said he understood and that I didn't know what I was doing," Hongjoong said.

"And you told him that was a bunch of shit and you shouldn't have done it under any circumstances," Yunho asked.

"Basically. But I didn't know he hit his head. He didn't tell me otherwise I would have gone straight to Yeosang," Hongjoong said with a sigh.

"Permission to speak freely," Yunho asked.

"You don't have to ask for that," Hongjoong replied.

"You're an idiot. I know you were probably scared of how we would react and upset with yourself because of what happened but either way, you should have told Yeosang straight away. If you had explained what happened rather than him just having to find out that way, it still would be bad but the reaction wouldn't be as big. Not to mention he could have checked San out straight away to make sure there wasn't any further issues," Yunho said. It was a little harsh but Hongjoong knew he was right. He was just too scared to say anything, leaving it up to San but it's San, he never would have told anyone, not wanting to put Hongjoong in a bad position.

"Yeosang got you good though, I didn't know he had it in him," Yunho said with a light chuckle.

"Yeah," Hongjoong said, wiping some more blood away.

"I deserved it though," he added.

"Maybe. Don't worry, he's just angry because it was San, he'll cool down after a bit," Yunho said softly.

"No, it's not just that. I seriously choked him Yunho. Like San cuddled up to me after and I saw the bruises, they were bad," Hongjoong said shaking his head.

"He'll forgive you, we all will. Just give it some time. We're all a bit all over the place lately and we need some stability. You can't just hide away again because the others are angry at you. You need to step up as the Captain and do your duties and everything will follow after," Yunho said firmly.

"I will, I promise. I'm going to get a good rest tonight and then tomorrow I will catch up on what I've missed," Hongjoong promised.
