Yeosang, San, Hongjoong Seonghwa ~Vehicle Accident ~

Yeosang's POV

Hongjoong, San, Seonghwa and I had just finished filming part of a show we've been working on in a rural area and were currently on our way back to Seoul. There was a storm raging outside, the rain pouring down heavily against the mini bus. It was just us four as the other boys were filming in a different area, still in Seoul.

"I don't like storms," San said quietly as he looked out the window. I mean, at least it's still daytime, not completely dark.

"It mainly just rain Sannie, it'll be ok," Seonghwa said. I glanced over at Hongjoong who hadn't said anything, seeing him just doing something on his phone.

"How long until we get back to the dorms," San asked.

"I dunno mayb-. Holy shit." Hongjoong cursed as the mini bus suddenly jolted and I quickly grabbed onto the chair in front of me to stable myself.

"Everything ok Donghyun-ssi," Hongjoong called out shakily as we continued to skid. I begun to worry as the mini bus went back and forth, skidding in the rain. Before anyone could react, the back of the mini bus collided heavily with something and we all jolted forwards. My seatbelt caught me so despite some possible bruising, I was fine. There was a scream though, a scream that rocked me to my core. I heard a click and a scream and watched in horror as San was flung from his seat, his seatbelt obviously breaking and he fell to the floor. He tried to stand and get back to his seat but the minibus skidded again and he fell backwards with a cry. I was petrified for the younger boy and how much danger he was in. I'm not going to let him get hurt, not on my watch. I grabbed my seatbelt buckle and unclicked it quickly, lunging towards the crying boy. I was thrown off balance slightly when the minibus jolted again, but I managed to keep my footing. I grabbed San's arm and pulled him with all my might towards me. He collided into my body but I didn't let him go. I threw him into my seat, fumbling slightly but managing to buckle him in. Just in time it seems, as mere seconds later, the minibus collided front first into something, a much bigger impact than the first one. I was thrown back, twisting slightly before I smashed my ribs into the centre console, my head colliding with the back of the chair. I tried to stay awake, but it was useless and my world went black.

Seonghwa's POV

I felt disorientated and my wrist was aching slightly. I could hear crying, sobbing. I blinked my eyes open, turning my head to the side to see San crying in the seat across the isle from me. It suddenly all came back to me, what had happened and I immediately tried to unbuckle my seatbelt but it was stuck.

"Is everyone ok," Hongjoong called out suddenly.

"S-Sangie. Yeosang," San sobbed out, but there was no answer. Shit. I grabbed my seatbelt and yanked hard, ignoring the pain in my wrist and it worked, the belt unclipping. I hurried out of my seat and into the isle, looking over to see Yeosang on the ground, laying unmoving. No. I gasped and hurried over, reaching out to grab him but a hand grabbed my arm and stopped me. I looked back to see Hongjoong holding me and shaking his head slightly. There was blood trailing down the side of his head and it worried me slightly, but we need to focus on Yeosang first. Hongjoong knelt down beside the younger and placed two fingers against his neck, obviously feeling for a pulse.

"He's alive, just knocked out," Hongjoong said, letting out a breath of relief. I felt something on my shoulder and I jumped, turning around only to see San still crying beside me.

"M'sorry. It's m-my fault. He got up to, h-help me," he cried. I immediately wrapped my arms around him and pulled him close to me.

"It's no one's fault Sannie. It was an accident," I said. Hongjoong gently moved Yeosang, careful not to move him too much but enough so he was laying more comfortably on the ground. I glanced up and remembered the driver, realising he hadn't moved or said anything since we stopped.

"Joong-ah, Donghyun-ssi," I said quietly, nodding up. Hongjoong quickly stood and leaned over to the front seat, rummaging around a bit before turning back. His face was grim and he slowly shook his head. I was shocked and my blood ran cold at the confirmation that the driver was now dead. I barely knew him, but he's still a person.

"Do you have a phone," Hongjoong asked me. I nodded and quickly pulled it out, understanding what he wanted to check. I unlocked it and looked at the bars, cursing when I saw there were none.

"It's got zero bars," I said with a groan. San started to sob harder in my arms, so I quickly sat on the closest seat, pulling him into my lap.

"Shh, we're gonna be ok baby," I whispered, rubbing the top of his head gently. I'm not actually sure everything will be fine, in fact I'm quite scared, but it will only scare San even more than he already is.

"What are we gonna do," San asked with a sniffle.

"There's only one thing we can really do," Hongjoong said with a sigh. I understood what he meant instantly and I nodded.

"We need to go out and find help," I said.

"But we have no idea where we are. Splitting up could make things worse," San said quickly.

"We need to try anyway Sannie. We don't know how hurt Yeosang is and if we wait, I'm afraid we could end up being to late," Hongjoong said quietly. I don't even want to think down that path.

"Two of us need to go out and the other needs to stay and look after Yeosang," I said.

"Do we have to," San asked, Hongjoong nodding in reply. San sniffled and sighed before moving off my lap.

"I'll stay with Yeosang. My ankle hurts so I won't be able to walk very far," he told us.

"Alright. Hwa, are you hurt anywhere," Hongjoong asked me.

"My wrist is a little sore, but other than that I'm fine," I said with a shrug.

"It's freezing outside, not to mention raining. We need to find our coats," he told me. I got up quickly and went to the back of the bus where the bags were stacked up. I went through all four of them and pulled out our coats before hurrying back to the boys. I gave Hongjoong and San their coats, put on mine, and then placed Yeosang's over his body. I'm glad it's one of our long coats, not the shorter one, so it could cover pretty much all of his body. At least it will be able to help keep him warm.

"Make sure to take your phones with you, and hurry. It's light now, but it could get dark soon," San said worriedly.

"Will you be alright staying and looking after Yeosang," Hongjoong asked him.

"Yeah. I'll keep him safe and warm," San replied with a nod. it worried me, to leave San and Yeosang alone when they're injured and there'll be no way to contact them. I wrapped my arms around San one last time, wanting to reassure myself that everything will be ok.

"Hang in there Sannie. Look after him and don't leave the bus alright," I whispered.

"I won't," he nodded. Hongjoong and I walked over to the door that was caved in slightly, obviously having hit something at one point. I grabbed the handle and tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge.

"Joong, little help here," I asked him. He nodded and grabbed onto the handle with me before we both managed to pry it open. We both got out quickly and hurriedly closed the door, not wanting to let anymore cold air to get into the bus. It was still raining, but at least it wasn't as bad as earlier. It was windy however, and Hongjoong stumbled slightly but I grabbed his waist and pulled him close to me. He grabbed my shirt tightly and leaned closer to me.

"We need to hurry and follow the road, continue in the direction we were heading because I'm pretty sure we weren't too far off the next town," he said and I nodded.

"Hold my hand and don't let go. We don't want to accidentally lose each other," I said. He quickly slipped his hand into mine, linking our fingers and squeezing tightly.

"Come on, we don't want to take too long," he said. I nodded and we begun to walk.

It didn't take long for the wind and rain to get to us, and we started to shiver in the cold, but continued on anyway. After walking for roughly 20 minutes, Hongjoong suddenly stumbled and fell into my side. I gasped but caught him swiftly, helping stabilize him.

"You alright," I asked worriedly. He nodded in reply but he was swaying, barely standing and it worried me. I placed my hand under his chin and lifted his head, noticing his pupils were slightly dilated and eyes unfocused. I frowned but then felt something a little sticky on my finger. I looked and saw that it was blood, remembering the fact that I saw his head bleeding earlier. Damn it.

"Joongie, darling, did you hit your head," I asked worriedly. He nodded slowly in reply.

"I'm ok though," he mumbled before shaking his head and straightening out.

"You probably have a concussion," I said anxiously. It's not great for him to be walking out in the cold if he's hurt.

"I know, but we need to keep going," he said. As worried as I am, he's right, we need to keep going.

"Alright, just lean on me if you need to," I said as we began to walk again.

Another 20 minutes passed before we finally begun to see a town up ahead. Hongjoong squeezed my hand tightly and we began to run towards it. We've made it. I just hope it's in time and we can get Yeosang and San some help.

San's POV

Once Hongjoong and Seonghwa left, I looked down at Yeosang, my eyes welling up with tears. It's my fault he's hurt this badly. He got out of his seat to protect me, all because I was to stupid to be able to do it myself. When I fell, I hurt my ankle and I was scared so I couldn't move properly. The bus was smashed and broken, the cold air coming through the broken windows and cracks within the bus. The back of the bus was less beaten, with less air coming through, which means it's better to stay back there. I know Yeosang is probably injured and it's not the best idea to move him, but it's better than letting him freeze to death. I gently slipped my arms under his body and lifted him up, moving him to the back seats of the van and laying him down delicately. I repositioned the coat so it was wrapped around it and tucked it under his body a bit more. Once it was as good as I could get it, I sat down between the back and the row in front of it, huddling up into the corner beside his head. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and was happy to see it was 93%. If I'm going to be stuck here for who knows how long, having something to entertain myself will help. I pulled up a wordsearch game and begun to play, trying to distract myself so I wouldn't worry and my thoughts wouldn't wander. I was playing for about 10 minutes before there was a slight groan and my head snapped up to see Yeosang stirring slightly. I was worried for him but thankful that he was alive and moving. I knelt beside him, hovering close and waiting to see what happened. He groaned, before whimpering and crying out in pain.

"Sangie. What's wrong," I asked quickly.

"M-My ribs. They're, they're burning. I can b-breathe properly," he gasped. I quickly moved his coat to the side and lifted his shirt, gasping when I saw the massive purple bruises blooming over his ribs. That does not look good at all. It's really bad, I just pray that Hongjoong and Seonghwa hurry. Yeosang's breathing was laboured and he was whimpering in pain. It broke my heart to hear him in so much pain and I started to cry, tears falling down my face quietly. I lifted my hand and ran my fingers through his hair, trying to bring him any sort of comfort that I could. He leaned into my hand, panting slightly as he moved one of his hands back to clutch at my free one. I held it tightly and placed a kiss to the side of his head.

"I'm so sorry Yeosang," I whispered, sniffling slightly as I continued to cry. He turned his head slightly, looking over at me with furrowed eyebrows.

"Wh-What? Why are you s-sorry," he asked me.

"It's my fault you're hurt," I said sadly. He immediately shook his head before groaning in pain once again, breathing harshly.

"S'not your fault. If anything h-happened to you. I would, would never be able to f-forgive myself," he said. A few tears slipped down his face and I quickly moved my hand to wipe them away.

"Where are H-Hyungs. Are they ok," he asked me.

"They've gone to help because there's no reception. They left about 10 minutes ago but they're both fine," I told him. He visibly relaxed at my words and I was thankful that he didn't remember to ask about the driver because I don't want to be the one to tell him someone died. I felt a weight against my hand and I looked back down to see that his head was lolled to the side slightly and I held it up with my hand.

"Sangie. Yeosang," I said frantically.

"Yeah," he said quietly. Shoot. I could tell he was beginning to lose consciousness again and it was beginning to scare me.

"S'cold," he whispered and I noticed his body was shaking with shivers. I quickly tucked the coat back around his body but I was still worried for him. I want him to be as protected as possible, he can't afford to be cold. I gently placed his head back down on the chair and quickly shrugged off my coat, draping it on top of him as well. There, extra protection to keep him warm. I tucked him in and quickly huddled myself back in the corner, hiding myself from the cold as best as possible. I wanted to talk more with him but it's best to leave him to rest some more. I grabbed my phone again and continued to plat the game, leaving a hand to card through his hair. I made sure that despite using my phone, I was still checking up on him. After sitting for another 15 minutes, I begun to feel a chilling cold in my bones, shivers starting to wrack through my body. I quickly placed my phone down and huddled closer to Yeosang to try and get some warmth. I slipped my hands under the coats, feeling that it was nice and warm but I didn't do anything else. At least my hands are warm, that's better than nothing. I'm not going to risk anything else happening to Yeosang so I stayed how I was despite the cold encasing my body. I started to shiver uncontrollably but I still remained as I was. I won't risk it, not a chance. I started to lose track of time as I tried to stay awake and stay as warm as I could. I felt exhausted and my eyes kept slipping closed but I managed to keep blinking them back open. After a while, I begun to hear sirens and I felt relief flowing through my veins as the exhaustion hit me harder. Yeosang will be ok now, I know that. It was with that thought that I finally let my eyes slip closed.

Hongjoong's POV

"You have a mild concussion Hongjoong-ssi. I recommend you don't do any strenuous exercise for at least a week, two if possible," the doctor told me. I was currently in the hospital and had just been run through some tests to check for injuries.

"Thank you. How are the other's? You guys found Yeosang and San right," I asked quickly.

"I don't know much but I know Seonghwa-ssi was getting a check-up and the other two were both found unconscious," he said. Wait, what? San was unconscious?

"Why was San unconscious? He was fine when we left him," I said in panic.

"One most likely has broken ribs and a concussion, the other had hypothermia, I don't know how bad it was though," he told me. Hypothermia? What happened that made San get hypothermia?

"Can I see anyone," I asked him.

"Seonghwa-ssi is getting his wrist put in a brace, then he'll be transferred to this room. There's other people in the waiting room though, I'm guessing they're your other members," he said.

"Can they come in," I asked him.

"Of course," he nodded before leaving. I waited for a few minutes before the door opened one again and a sobbing Wooyoung hurried in, Mingi, Yunho and Jongho trailing behind him. The other three were much more composed but I expected this kind of reaction from Wooyoung, given the close bond he has with both San and Yeosang. I grabbed his arm gently and pulled him up onto my bed with me, pulling him into my arms and holding him tightly.

"P-Please Hyung. They, they need to be ok. Please l-let them be ok," he begged, sobbing into my shoulder. Aish. It hurt my heart to hear the pain in his voice and I felt my eyes well up with tears. Jongho walked over quietly and sat down on the bed, gently pulling Wooyoung from me and into his own lap. Wooyoung curled up into the maknae and Jongho just held him tight, kissing the top of his head.

"Hyung. What happened," Yunho asked.

"It was raining and wet and the bus lost control. The back hit something and we all flung forwards but we had our seatbelts on so we were ok, except San's one broke. He was flung from his seat and we were still out of control. He couldn't get back to a seat, so Yeosang jumped out of his and managed to get San buckled in. We crashed right after and Yeosang didn't get a chance to get back to his seat. I think he hurt his ribs and probably his head because he was knocked out. There was no reception, so Seonghwa and I left to get to the nearest time. When we got there, we used our phone to call an ambulance and they picked us up. We told them where the bus roughly was and another ambulance went to find them," I explained.

"The doctors mentioned San had hypothermia. How could he have gotten it," Mingi asked.

"I have no idea, Hwa and I weren't there," I said, shaking my head.

"Did Yeosang Hyung actually risk his life to protect San Hyung," Jongho asked quietly. We all love each other a lot, and if we can we would protect each other. That's what everyone says, and it's true, but once put in those types of situations, most people freeze up. I shouldn't have frozen though, I should've thought quick enough to protect both of them myself.

"He didn't even hesitate, just jumped from his seat and got San to safety," I said with a nod. Wooyoung sobbed and nodded, clinging tightly to Jongho.

"Y-Yeo's always been very pr-protective," he choked out. This shouldn't have happened, I shouldn't have let this happen. I couldn't hold back my tears anymore and I begun to cry.

"I'm so sorry for not protecting them. It should've been me, not Yeosang," I said sadly, trying to wipe away my tears. To my surprise though, Wooyoung lunged back to me and shook his head furiously.

"You're, you're our tiny, fragile leader. You would've gotten way more hurt Hyungie. You're too small and petite," he said with a sniffle. I'm not sure if I should be grateful, or feel insulted. I pulled him close to me and hugged him tightly, burying my head into his neck and crying sadly. Wooyoung continued to hug me for a few minutes as I cried, before there was the sound of a door opening.

"Hongjoong? Joongie?" I lifted my head to see Seonghwa being lead inside by a nurse. I kissed Wooyoung's neck before the younger pulled back and I quickly wiped my eyes.

"I'm fine," I told Seonghwa. He didn't listen though, of course, and he quickly hurried over, ignoring the protests from the nurse. I moved to the side and lifted my blanket, allowing him to slip under and get comfortable sitting next to me. I quickly cuddled up to his side and, wanting to have my Hyung close for comfort. He always helps me feel safe. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, holding it tight and rubbing my shoulder up and down, kissing the side of my head.

"How's everyone doing," he asked,

"We're worried about San Hyung and Yeosang Hyung. We just want them to be ok," Jongho said.

"The last I heard, they were both going to pull through," Seonghwa informed us. Oh thank god. I let out a breath of relief and melted into Seonghwa's side.

"Can I join you please," Wooyoung asked quietly. I immediately held out my arms and allowed the younger boy to crawl over and carefully lay down on top of the two of us.

"Seonghwa Hyung, Hongjoong Hyung," Jongho called out suddenly. We both looked over at the Maknae.

"You guys did good," he said, smiling softly at us. It surprised me with how much relief I felt hearing those words, how much they made me relax and feel a bit better.

"Thanks aegi," Seonghwa whispered. All we can do now, is wait until we get word on what happened with Yeosang and San.

Yeosang's POV

When I woke up, I was in a hospital bed. That much was obvious from the fresh white sheets and slight cleaning chemical smell. I remembered what happened, the storm, the accident, the pain. I'm glad Seonghwa and Hongjoong were able to find help for us. I lifted my shirt up slightly, noticing that my ribs were wrapped up in some sort of compression bandage. I'm guessing I'm on pain medication right now, because I'm not really hurting very much. My ribs are definitely broken, badly bruised at the very least. I sat up slowly and looked around, trying to get my bearings a bit better, but I froze in horror when I saw the bed across from me. It was San in the bed. Why is San unconscious in a hospital bed? There were a few wires connected to his arms, and heavy blankets wrapped around him. His face was pale and it worried me, a lot. I know what this is, he got hypothermia. My stomach dropped at the thought and I frowned sadly. I looked around the room but there was no one else so I looked back to San. I sighed and quickly slipped out of my bed, peeling off my shirt and walking over to his bed. The blankets are there to warm him up, that much is obvious. Hypothermia is tricky to treat from what I've heard. Raising the body temperature too quickly will kill him, but not doing it quick enough will also kill him. Another safe way to warm him up without doing it too fast is to use body heat. I slipped underneath the blankets and rolled over to gently lay on top of San's body to help warm him up, careful not to disrupt anything. I let the blanket go, making sure it was covering us properly and not letting any cold air in. I hugged the younger boy softly, burying my head into his neck. He felt cold, compared to me but I didn't care, I just stayed cuddled up to him. I stayed like that for a while before I slowly drifted off to sleep.

~~~~~
I woke up to the sound of talking in the room. "He's fine to stay there. The skin to skin contact and body warmth will help San-ssi."
I turned my head slightly, letting my eyes slip open. I saw Jongho sitting in a chair next to the bed. I assume the other's are all in here now, but I stayed quiet, wanting to wake up a bit more.
"Thank you," I heard Seonghwa say to someone before there was the sound of a door open and closing.
"They're cute," Yunho said. Seriously?
"Sangie's still in protective mode. He went into the bed to help Sannie warm up better," Wooyoung said. Ah, he knows me well.
"I'm just glad they're both ok," Hongjoong said. I was more awake so I moved slightly, propping myself up so I could look over at the other's. Wooyoung was immediately on his feet and before I could react, he was carefully leaning over and wrapping me up into a gentle half hug, kissing my cheek softly. I would usually cringe at the affection but I know Wooyoung has been in a lot of distress so I didn't. I kissed his cheek gently before he pulled back and stepped away.
"How're you feeling," Hongjoong asked softly.
"I'm ok. Although I'm probably on a lot of painkillers," I said, shrugging slightly.
"Do you remember anything that happened," Seonghwa asked quietly.
"I remember everything I'm pretty sure," I said with a nod.
"Do you know how Sannie may have gotten hypothermia? None of us got it and yet he somehow did," Hongjoong said with a frown. I thought back, sifting through my memories to try and make sense of everything before slowly nodding. I remember now. I was half out of it, but I still remember.
"I was in a lot of pain because of my ribs, but I remember saying I was cold and then I got warmer. I'm pretty sure Sannie gave me his coat to keep me warm, which made him open to the cold," I told them.
"That sounds like something he would do," Jongho said with a sigh. It really does, doesn't it. I looked down at the younger boy below me, remembering the look of terror on his face and the scream he let out when his seatbelt broke and he was flung of the chair.
"I've never been so scared in my life than I was when he was thrown from his seat," I whispered.
"You react well, and quickly. You protected your dongsaeng and potentially saved his life," Seonghwa said. I leant down and placed a soft kiss to San's cheek.
"I love him, I could never let anything happen to him, or any of you for that matter," I said softly.
"I love you too." I sat back up quickly, looking down to see San's eyes open sleepily. I leaned down and hugged him quickly.
"You stupid idiot," I muttered quietly. San chuckled lightly and hugged me back softly. I slowly sat back up, helping the younger up with me.
"Why would you give me your coat when I already had on you pabo," I said ruffling his hair gently.
"You need it more," he shrugged.
"San, you got hypothermia. If it took any longer to find you guys, it could've been potentially life-threatening," Mingi pointed out.
"Yeosangie saved my life, it's only fair that I helped him back," he said quietly. I wanted to say that it wasn't necessary but I held back. The accident was traumatic and he was probably scared out of his mind, I can't blame him for doing exactly what I would've done.
"I think we're all just thankful that you two are ok," Seonghwa said softly. I nodded and hugged San close to my side, feeling him practically melt against me and nuzzle into my shoulder. We're all gonna be ok...
