San ~Shooting~

Trigger Warning

Guns, Blood, Death but no one named and barely mentioned
Edit: Some body image issues at the start

San's POV

Doing the opening performance at an award show is a privilege and we've been given that honour. I sat on the floor of our dressing room reaching forwards to touch my toes, to get a good stretch in and warm up properly. I don't want to pull an injury halfway through our performances in front on a heap of other Idols. As I was stretching, I heard footsteps and saw someone stop beside me. I continued to stretch, waiting for them to say something but they remained silent. I glanced up in confusion, wondering why they weren't saying anything. It was Wooyoung. He was standing beside me quietly, his head lowered and his shoulders slightly hunched. I was immediately concerned but that concern only grew when I looked closer and noticed that his eyes were teary. Wooyoung is usually really cheerful and energetic before performances, but sometimes he get's insecure, especially before big events such as this one. I jumped to my feet quickly, wrapping an arm around his waist and guiding him to the back of the room, slipping into one of the smaller changing rooms. I closed and locked the door behind us before turning back to Wooyoung. It was clear that he was panicking, the way his breathing was erratic, his hands shaking slightly.

"Youngie, what's wrong," I asked him quickly. Wooyoung just sniffled and shook his head, lifting up his hand to show me something he was holding. I recognized it immediately, his performance pants for tonight. That's when I realised he had his performance shirt on, but some sweatpants. I didn't understand why he was holding it out to me, but I grabbed it in confusion.

"What's wrong? Why're you giving me your pants," I asked him quickly. I panicked when Wooyoung suddenly burst into tears, shaking his head.

"Th-They don't f-fit," he cried. Huh? How could his pants not fit him? Wooyoung is in perfect shape, if anything he's a little bit underweight, too small because of all the diets he puts himself on.

"What do you mean they don't fit," I asked softly.

"Th-They don't f-fit me. I'm t-too fat," he cried. He started sobbing suddenly, yanking his shirt up to show his stomach. It's flat, no bump on it, nothing that would show him as being fat. If anything it needs more fat on it, but sometimes Wooyoung can't see that.

"F-Fat," he sobbed, whacking the back of his fist into his stomach. I lunged forwards immediately, catching his hands and tugging him into me, hugging him tightly to stop him from hitting himself again.

"They d-don't fit," he sobbed.

"Shh, shh," I hushed him softly, running my fingers through his hair to try and calm him down. It hurts me whenever he thinks he isn't good enough, whenever he convinces himself his body is ugly. It really hurts.

"You need to calm down Youngie, let me check it out and see what's wrong," I told him.

"I kn-know what's wrong. I-I'm fat," he cried.

"No, no you aren't Youngie, you aren't fat," I said firmly.

"Let me check it out," I added quickly. He was still crying but he stopped struggling in my arms. I stepped back and knelt, tugging his pants down quickly. He lifted his feet to help me pull them off before I slipped his performance pants on over his feet. I stood back up and pulled the performance pants up his legs and sure enough, they got stuck near his hips. I was shocked as I know for a fact that they fit less than a week ago and there is no way he's grown in any way in that time. Wooyoung got even more hysterical and I hushed him gently, bending back down to look over the pants and find out what the problem is. Because the pants are definitely the problem right now, I have no doubt about that. I fiddled with the pants, looking over to try and fix whatever problem it was. About 20 seconds later, I found it. There was a loose string that had somehow managed to get so tangled up, it had the pants tightened a lot. I quickly grabbed it and snapped it in my hands, untangling it from the pants so it was back to the originally size. Once again I stood, but this time when I tugged it up, it went easily.

"Youngie, Wooyoung. Look, it's up, it fits just fine. A thread got tangled up in your pants, it wasn't your fault at all," I told him quickly. Wooyoung looked down as I tied up his pants, actually having to tighten them slightly as they were a little loose. God, how are they already loose. Wooyoung let out another sob but I could tell this one was of relief as he dropped forwards and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back firmly, holding him and rubbing his back as he begun to slowly calm down. Once his sniffling finally subsided, I pulled away and cupped his face softly, using my thumb to wiped the tears from his face.

"You're ok," I said softly. There was a sudden knock on the door and my head snapped up towards it quickly. I don't want someone coming in and seeing Wooyoung in this state, not unless it's one of the Hyung's.

"Who is it," I asked.

"It's Hongjoong. Everything ok in there? They said you and Wooyoung just rushed in here," Hongjoong said. It's Hongjoong, he's fine and he needs to know what happened. I moved over and unlocked the door, for him to come in. Hongjoong opened the door and walked in.

"We have about half an hour un-." He trailed off when he noticed the state we were in, no doubt seeing the obvious tear tracks cutting through Wooyoung's makeup on his face. He closed the door quickly, concern overtaking his features.

"What happened," he asked quickly.

"Youngie had a little breakdown just now. His pants got tangled without anyone realising and they wouldn't fit him. He thought they didn't fit because he was too fat," I explained. I saw the heartbroken look cross Hongjoong's face as he listened to what I said. We all know that Wooyoung has had problems with his weight, a lot. He went through a period of time where there were many hate comments about his weight and he ended up on a crazily unhealthy diet. Hongjoong was the person that managed to catch on to what he was doing and help him, but we all worry for him sometimes.

"Come here," Hongjoong said softly, drawing Wooyoung into his arms. He started rocking from side to side gently to soothe the younger boy in his arms.

"Go get some makeup wipes," Hongjoong told me softly. I nodded and left the room, hurrying to the makeup station and grabbing some wipes.

"Noona," I said, gaining the attention of our makeup artist.

"Yes Sannie, what's up," she asked me.

"Can you please get your station ready to redo Wooyoung's makeup," I asked her. She smiled softly and nodded, not asking any questions about why which I was thankful for. I hurried back quickly to the changing room with the makeup wipes. I opened the pack and both Hongjoong and I grabbed one and begun to remove the makeup from Wooyoung's face so it could be redone. Once all of the makeup was removed from his face, Hongjoong hugged him again and kissed the top of his head.

"You are beautiful and so it your body Young-ah. You are as perfect as anyone can get," Hongjoong whispered. Wooyoung clung to him tightly and a small smile graced his lips, making me breathe in relief.

"Hyung's right. Hyung is always right," I said, giving his hair a little ruffle. He smiled wider and I was glad to see him smiling and not crying anymore.

"Come, let's get you fixed up and ready to go. I'm pretty sure Hongjoong Hyung was going to tell us we had half an hour before show time," I said, pulling him away from Hongjoong. I straightened out his jacket and fixed up the rest of his outfit for him. I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the changing room and over to the makeup table where our Noona was set up and ready to go.

"Let's get your makeup redone," I said, pulling him over.

~~~~~
"ATEEZ, you're on in five." I stretched my neck out and bounced up and down a few times on the balls of my feet to try and keep in the energy running through my veins. I always get excited and energised before performances but I have to keep it in until the actual performance so I can let it out on the stage.
"San." I glanced to the side to see Yeosang standing beside me.
"Yeah, you ok," I asked quickly.
"Can you help me attach my mic," he asked me. I nodded and stepped closer, grabbing his mic from his hands. I put it behind him and wrapped it around to the other side, making sure the cord didn't get caught before attaching it to his head, making sure it was on properly and wouldn't come off when he's dancing.
"San," he said quietly.
"Yes Yeosangie," I replied, adjusting the mic so it was in front of his mouth.
"I have a bad feeling," he whispered. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and lowered my hand to rest on his shoulder.
"What's wrong? Are you sick," I asked him worriedly.
"No. No, I'm not sick. I just, I have a bad feeling," he replied.
"I don't understand," I said quietly. I could tell from the looking in Yeosang's eyes that he was a little off put but I don't understand why.
"I don't really understand either, it just won't go away," he told me.
"Alright, why don't we take a few deep breaths to try and calm down," I said, moving my hands to grab his in mine, squeezing them softly. I leant forwards and rested my forehead against his softly, watching his eyes slip closed.
"Deep breaths with me," I said gently. I took a deep breath in and out, Yeosang following along with me and relaxing slightly against me.
"You're ok, we're all ok. This is just another performance and you're going to rock it," I said firmly. He chuckled and nodded, taking one last deep breath before pulling away.
"Thanks San, I don't know why I was freaking out so much," he said with a sigh.
"It's ok, we all get a little nervous sometimes," I said softly.
"Yeah, nervous," he said with a sigh, stretching his neck out slightly like I did before.
"You've got this Sang. We're just doing Guerrilla and Wonderland," I assured him. He gave me a small smile and nodded, turning back around to face the direction he needs to be facing when we go up.
"Alright boys, we're going up in 30 seconds, be ready," Hongjoong called out to us. I sighed and faced towards where the audience would be. Let's get this show going!
~~~~~

Everything was going great, amazing even. Performing on stage is exhilarating, it always will be. We performed Wonderland first and our Atiny were jumping up and down and flashing their light sticks in support. There's nothing quite like being on stage. We transitioned into Guerrilla seamlessly, another amazing transition organised by Hongjoong. Everything was fine, we were dancing and it was great. My part came up when I danced down towards Wooyoung before leaning in and placing my hand on his neck. It was at that moment that there were sharp, loud banging ringing out through the building, loud enough to be heard over the music, over my in-ear piece. They were really loud and there were multiple of them, over 5 at least. There was no mistaking what they were, they were gunshots. The minute the shots rang out, my hand tightened on Wooyoung and I yanked him down, pulling him close in my arms and shielding him with my body. I yanked out my in-ear piece and the sounds of the screaming became louder, more shots ringing out. I couldn't move, not knowing where the shots were coming from or what was actually happening. Wooyoung was curled up in my arms, his head tucked into my chest as I covered him as best as I could. An hand suddenly grabbed my arm and yanked me up to my feet, pulling Wooyoung up as well.

"Get off the stage now," Hongjoong yelled. I listened to what he said and quickly ran towards the edge of the stage where the stairs were that lead to the rooms and corridors below. I kept Wooyoung as close to my side as I could, trying not to have him exposed but it was impossible because I had no idea where those shots came from. I was terrified but I kept running, pulling Wooyoung down the stairs to the floor below. People were running about, yelling, panicking and we were almost knocked over as soon as we got down the stairs but Wooyoung stopped and backed us up slightly. I moved my hand to his and grabbed it, pulling him down the side of the hall to get away from the exit.

"San. San wait," Wooyoung said, tugging my hand to make me stop.

"Wooyoung, we need to go," I said quickly, my heart racing as I looked around quickly.

"What about the others? Where are the others? Where is Yeosang," he asked quickly. I paused and glanced back at him, seeing the fear etched on his face and the tears leaving his eyes. I pulled him close in my arms, looking around quickly to try and find the others. Am I horrible because the other members slipped my mind? I-I had Wooyoung, I needed to get Wooyoung out. If I went back for the others, he could've gotten hurt. I don't want them to die, but I didn't go back for them.

"Youngie, Sannie." We both spun around to see Seonghwa running up.

"Hwa Hyungie," Wooyoung cried, reaching out for him. He hurried over and hugged the both of us before letting us go and looking around.

"Hyung, what's happening," I asked quickly.

"There are gunman, multiple from what I know. They shot at the stage and throughout the arena," Seonghwa said.

"Oh my god, are the others ok. Did anyone get shot," I asked worriedly.

"No, everyone's ok. Yunho and Mingi grabbed Jongho and got him off stage and I grabbed Yeosang. Hongjoong ran to get you guys off stage because you weren't moving. Yunho, Yeosang, Mingi and Jongho went off together and Hongjoong is just down the hall," Seonghwa explained. Oh thank god.

"Listen to me right now ok. We have no idea how many gunman there are and no idea where they are. I want you to go and hide. Don't just hide in a room because that is the first place someone will look. Find a room where you can find another place to hide in. Whatever you do, do not come out for anyone unless it is the police," Seonghwa said firmly.

"Hyung, wh-what about you," I asked him worriedly.

"I need to go back to Hongjoong ok, but I can't do that without knowing you two are safe," Seonghwa said.

"Hyungie, we can't leave you," Wooyoung cried.

"San protect Wooyoung. Protect your little brother for Hyung ok," Seonghwa told me. I wanted to stay with Seonghwa just as much as Wooyoung did, but he's the Hyung and I need to do what he asked.

"Wooyoung, we need to go," I said quickly. Wooyoung sobbed and let go of me, hugging Seonghwa tightly.

"I love you," he cried.

"I love you too baby, both of you. I will see you at the dorm tonight ok," he said softly. I took a deep breath to hold back my tears, knowing I needed to stay strong. We all jumped when there were the sounds of more gunshots.

"Go and hide now," Seonghwa said sternly. The halls still had people but it wasn't as bad as earlier, so we could move better. I grabbed Wooyoung's hand and tugged him down the halls, away from the sound of the gunshot. Wooyoung hurried to keep up with me, so I slowed down slightly and he turned our hands slightly, linking our fingers together. I went to turn towards our dressing room but Wooyoung stopped me.

"N-Not a dressing room. That's the first place they'd look," he said quietly. That is pretty true I think.

"Come on," I said quickly as we begun to rush down the halls, getting to ones that were empty. I don't know where we're supposed to go, so I just kept going, keeping an eye out to find a good place and ears open to listen in case there's more gunshots. Sure enough, as we were running, there were more bangs, closer bangs. Shit.

"We need to get in a room now," I told Wooyoung quickly. He nodded and we ran to the side, going to open the door but it was locked.

"Shit, next one," I said. Wooyoung ran back and opened the next door but once again it was locked, and so was the next. Oh my god, this cannot be happening. I heard the sounds of footsteps and clicking, then another gunshot, once again closer. Wooyoung whimpered and my eyes welled up with tears in fear. Someone's coming and all of the doors are locked. Our places to hide are locked. Just as I was giving up hope, a door opened ahead of us and a familiar head poked out.

"Youngie, Sannie, come here jagi's," Yeonjun said quickly. Wooyoung and I rushed forwards, Yeonjun grabbing an arm each and tugging us inside. It was an odd room, only having some shelves in it. The door was closed and locked quickly behind us before we were dragged back behind one of the shelves and that's when I realised the room was like a zigzag. Yeonjun pulled Wooyoung into his arms as he sobbed quietly and I was grabbed and pulled into another set of arms. I looked up in surprise and let out a breath when I saw it was Dino.

"It's ok, you're ok. We're safe in here right now," he whispered. I sniffled as a few tears started to fall and I clung to him tightly.

"We're as safe as we can be in here guys. There's two different exits, so if someone tries to enter through one, we can get out through the other," Yeonjun said, tugging Wooyoung into his lap.

"I'm scared," Wooyoung whispered.

"I'm scared as well. I think we're all scared," Yeonjun said quietly.

"Come on, let's go sit with them. Wooyoung will want you close," Dino said quietly. We quickly shuffled over and I sat beside Yeonjun, leaning against the wall and grabbing Wooyoung's hand as Dino sat beside me.

"Wh-What do we do," Wooyoung asked quietly.

"I don't know," Yeonjun whispered.

"We sit and wait and we pray that the people we love make it out safely," Dino said firmly.

"D-Do you know how your other members are," I asked quietly.

"Kai's at home, he was sick today. Soobin, Taehyun and Beomgyu were in our dressing room near the exit, they should be out safe by now. I um, I went out to watch you guys perform live so I was by the stage when it happened," Yeonjun said quietly. Wooyoung sniffled and cuddled closer to Yeonjun, tucking his head into his neck.

"I'm glad they're ok," I said and Yeonjun just nodded in reply.

"Chan, do you know where your Hyungs are," I asked quietly. Dino tensed slightly before sighing and shaking his head.

"I wasn't with them when everything happened, I was in the bathroom. I found Yeonjun when he was running down the halls. I'm sure they're ok though, they're smart and resourceful. No need to panic about something when we don't know what's actually happened," Dino said quietly. I could tell that he was scared, worried about his Hyungs but he was obviously trying to keep a strong front.

"I don't want to die," Wooyoung whispered.

"You're not going to die Wooyoung, we'll protect you," Dino said firmly. I squeezed Wooyoung's hand softly and he sniffled, squeezing back firmly.

"We're going to be ok. We're just going to wait here until the poli-." Dino was cut off when more gunshots could be heard and Yeonjun quickly slapped a hand over Wooyoung's mouth to keep him quiet. I moved closer into Dino's side and he held me tightly.

"Just stay very quiet guys," Dino whispered. We all huddled closer, keeping quiet except the sound of our breathing and Wooyoung's muted sniffles.

"Shh, it's ok," Yeonjun whispered. I jumped when there was another bang and squeezed my eyes closed tightly. I felt sick to my stomach, thinking about where those bullets were going, who they were being shot at.

We remained huddled up together like that for a few minutes before there was another bang, only this time it wasn't the bang of a bullet being shot, it was the bang of something smashing into a door. The door about five metres down the hall. Oh my god. Wooyoung whimpered and Yeonjun looked over at Dino and I, his eyes wide with fear.

"There might be some of those prissy little assholes down here, it looks like a doorway," someone said. There was another bang as they seemed to be trying to get the door open.

"We need to go, now. Stay quiet, stay low and stay behind me," Dino said. He let go of me and slowly got to his feet, the rest of us following, keeping away from the side that lead to the door they were trying to break into. A hand latched onto mine and I grabbed it quickly, pulling Wooyoung into my side. I need him close to me so if something happens, I can protect him. We hurried over to the other exit and Dino motioned for us to stop.

"I'm going to look first, don't leave until I say it's safe," he whispered. I bit my lip worriedly but nodded. Dino slowly and quietly opened the door, slipping out quickly. I held my breath for a few seconds before he opened it wider and nodded for us to get out. We hurried out quickly and he quietly closed the door.

"Come on, we need to get away from here," he said.

"Stay close behind me," I told Wooyoung. He sniffled and nodded, moving to cuddle up by my side. We all walked down the halls together, staying close and keeping quiet, trying to listen for any inkling of danger. We were about to turn another corner when Dino suddenly stopped us and pushed us back away from the corner.

"Is there someone there," I asked whispered worriedly.

"No gunman but we shouldn't go down that hall," he said. I was confused and peaked around the corner before Dino could stop me but I pulled back quickly. There were bodies along the hall and blood. Wooyoung doesn't need to see that and I don't want to see that any closer, I don't want to be close enough to make out faces. I took a deep breath to keep calm and dragged Wooyoung back.

"Let's go this way," I said, nodding to a different hall. Dino nodded and we hurried off down that way before Yeonjun and Wooyoung could look. Wooyoung squeezed my hand and I squeezed it back tightly.

"Should we find a room, or should we try to get out," Yeonjun asked.

"Hwa Hyung said to hide," Wooyoung said.

"I think it's best to try and get out, otherwise we're just sitting ducks," Dino said.

"But Hyungie said hide," Wooyoung sniffled.

"San," Dino said pointedly as we stopped by a corner.

"Youngie look at me," I said softly, turning around and gathering him in my eyes before stepping back and look into his eyes.

"Seonghwa Hyung told me to protect you, so that's what we're going to do. He wants us to stay safe and the safest thing we can do is to get out of this building," I said softly.

"We're going to get out and then we're going to meet up with the others," I told him. He sniffled but nodded, taking a breath and grabbing my hand again, moving behind me.

"We're good. Do you know how to get out of here," I asked Dino.

"I know a route, yeah. Come on, we need to keep moving," he said. I nodded and we continued walking. We were walking for a little while, checking each hall before we turned down it. I kept my ears open, waiting for any sign of danger that I could hear. We were so close, so close yet so far when I picked up the noise. We had been checking in front of us, not behind us. I heard a click, a barely noticeable click but I noticed it. It cut through the silence, though I seemed to be the only one that noticed it. I turned my head around and my eyes went wide as I saw a guy down the end of the hall, a gun raised and pointed in the direction of Wooyoung behind me. I gasped and yanked Wooyoung forwards, wrapping my arms around him and shielding him with my body just as a shot rang out. I cried out as pain flared in my shoulder, making my legs give out slightly.

"SANNIE," Wooyoung screamed. The pain was unbearable for a few seconds before it dulled down and I did my best to push it to the back of my mind and keep Wooyoung behind me. I stumbled to my feet, feeling Wooyoung wrap his arms around my waist and start crying.

"Stay behind me," I grit out. The man down the hall advance forwards, the gun still raised. Yeonjun was to my left, seemingly frozen in fear but Dino suddenly tugged him back and stepped in front of him, moving slightly to try and shield me as much as he could. The man that was advancing forwards suddenly paused before grinning.

"Holy shit, you're Dino," he said quickly. I saw Dino's hand flex slightly but he remained in front of us.

"Oh my god, you are. I'm a massive fan dude, like a diehard carat," he said moving forwards slightly. Dino placed his arm in front of me and gently guided Woo and I behind him. The pain in my shoulder was dull but it's probably the fear and adrenaline because I'm 99% sure I was just shot in the shoulder and I can feel blood slowly trailing down my body.

"You've got an odd way of showing it," Dino spoke up.

"Oh I'm not going to shoot you, of course I won't. I told the guys I ain't shooting any of Seventeen cos you guys are my ults," the man said. Yeonjun grabbed my arm and pulled me further behind Dino and I understood, guiding Wooyoung back as well. Dino's our only chance to survive this right now.

"But you're going to shoot my friends," Dino said slowly.

"Well, I mean I didn't realise you were here. But I won't shoot you, I promise," the man said.

"If you want to shoot them, then you're going to have to shoot me first," Dino said firmly. I frowned in worry for the slightly older boy but I remained silent.

"Oh, you don't have to get shot, I won't shoot you," the man said. How delusional is this guy right now?

"I tell you what, you're a diehard fan right," Dino asked.

"Yeah, of course," the man replied enthusiastically.

"Why don't we make a deal," Dino said slowly.

"What kind of deal," the man asked.

"I will take a photo with you-."

"Yes, yes, a hundred times yes," the man interrupted. I felt sick to my stomach and worried for Dino but he wasn't done yet.

"But. The only way I will do that, is if these three first get behind that corner and once we take a few photos, you let us go, all of us," Dino said.

"For a photo with you man, of course," the guy nodded.

"Back up with me guys and get behind the corner," Dino said quietly. I was worried for him but it was the only option so we backed up behind him before slipping around the corner when we could.

"S-San, your shoulder," Yeonjun gasped. I glanced at him and just nodded.

"Yeah, I know. We can't worry about it right now though," I said, wincing slightly as the pain increased a little.

"I'm s-so sorry," Wooyoung sobbed suddenly. I turned to hm and wrapped my uninjured arm around his shoulder, pulling him close.

"It's ok Young-ah. You aren't hurt are you," I asked quickly. I thought about what happened and it bought chills to my bones at the realisation of what could have happened to Wooyoung if I didn't hear that click. I got hit in the shoulder because I moved, he would've been his straight in the back if I didn't move him.

"We need to get out and get you help before you bleed out," Yeonjun said. Wooyoung whimpered and I glared at Yeonjun for scaring him more. Dino suddenly rounded the corner.

"Run, before he changes his mind," he said quickly. I grabbed Wooyoung's hand and we all sprinted down the hall, the pain in my shoulder increasing. I bit my lip to hide the pain, knowing Wooyoung would stress out and stop if he found out I was hurting badly. I mean I've been shot, which is something I never thought would ever happen to me and I'm kind of doing my best to stop myself from panicking. Seonghwa told me to protect him and he is my soulmate so I'll be damned if being shot in the should will stop me, and I'm seriously hoping we get out before I bleed out and die. That would be really nice.

"There's the exit," Dino said, pointing to the door down the end of the halls. We ran towards it but it suddenly opened and 6 people dressed in back with big guns walked in. We froze and I yanked Wooyoung behind me again, my heart pounding.

"We're Idols, we don't have guns. I'm Lee Chan from Seventeen, this is Choi Yeonjun from TXT and Choi San and Jung Wooyoung from ATEEZ," Dino said quickly holding his hands up. It was then that I realised these people were police, not people who wanted to hurt us.

"Clear. Come here, let's get you out," one of them said, beckoning us over. Dino moved first and the rest of us followed.

"San's been shot, in um, in his shoulder," Dino told them.

"We'll get you over to a medic straight away," the police said. He grabbed the radio on his vest and clicked it.

"We have four more coming out now, all Idols. 2 from ATEEZ, one from Seventeen and once from TXT. Choi San has a GSW to the shoulder and needs to be looked at immediately," he said. Another one guided us to the door and opened it and we immediately rushed out, being met by more police officers that weren't as equip as the others with protective gear but still were heavily armed.

"Which one of you is Choi San," one asked.

"The one with blood all over his shirt," Dino said, pointing to me. If the scenario was different, I would've laughed at his bluntness, but given I've been shot and I'm definitely going to crash soon because we're safe now. We're actually safe.

"Alright, come with us, we need to get that looked at immediately," the man said.

"The rest of you go towards that tent over there," the man said. It happened before I could react, one of them reached out and grabbed Wooyoung who was still clinging to me and tugged him away.

"SAN. SANNIE," he screamed, reaching out for me.

"LET HIM GO," I yelled, lunging forwards and grabbing him, smashing my elbow up into the man's face. The policeman's face. I just stupidly attack a police officer but I didn't care, my only worry was getting Wooyoung safe in my arms.

"Don't, don't, it's ok," the officer said as I held Wooyoung tightly, the younger sobbing into my good shoulder. I looked up to see the other police officers had stepped closer, one even with his hand on his gun. Was he going to shoot me?

"Back down all of you, that was my fault. They've gone through something traumatic and I separated them without speaking to them first. Take them all over to the medic tent," the officer I just elbowed said.

"I'm going to assume he's the other ATEEZ member," he said, turning to me.

"W-Wooyoung. Our Hyung told m-me to protect him. I'm s-sorry," I said shakily.

"It's fine. Get them all to the tent before he loses too much blood," the officer said. I held Wooyoung tightly and the four of us followed the person directing us, soon getting into a bright yellow tent.

"We have another victim here, GSW to the shoulder," someone yelled out. People rushed over towards us, someone reaching out to pull Wooyoung away but an officer stepped in front of us.

"You help him, but you let the kid stay with him. Do not separate them right now," he said. The medic glanced at the two of us before nodding. The officer stepped away and we were directed over to a makeshift bed. I glanced around and my heart clenched as I noticed there were many people occupying beds throughout the tent.

"I need to lie down Youngie," I whispered. He sniffled before pulling away from me slowly, his body shaking.

"Wooyoung, go to the other side and hold his hand," Yeonjun said. Wooyoung nodded and moved over to the other side, grabbing my hand as I laid down.

"Shouldn't you be getting him to a hospital? He's been shot," Dino asked.

"It's a shoulder gunshot wound, we can asses it here and if it is life-threatening he will be taken to the hospital but he's still awake and moving so chances are we can fix it here," the medic said as he helped me lay down and cut my shirt off.

"But he's been shot," Wooyoung choked out. I quickly squeezed his hand to try and reassure him I would be fine. It hurts a lot, the adrenaline is wearing off but I feel like I would be in way worse pain if I was dying.

"I'm sorry, but we have over 20 other victims who had to be rushed to hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries so we're doing our best to help those that we can here," the medic said.

"It's fine, you just do your job. I'll b-be ok," I said, breathing deeply to relax.

"Let me just check this out and we can go from there," the medic said. I nodded and turned my hand to look at Wooyoung, holding his hand tightly. He was still crying and he was watching me closely.

"I'm gonna be ok," I said softly.

"Y-You took a bullet for me," he whispered.

"Amicus ad aras right," I said gently. His eyes welled up with more tears and he started sobbing again, squatting down so his chin rested on the bed. I winced when I felt something press against my shoulder but I continued to look at Wooyoung. Yeonjun and Dino walked over, squatting down beside Wooyoung and hugging him softly.

"Bullet went through and through and didn't hit anything major. We just need to wash it out and stitch it up and you should be fine," the medic said. I let out a breath of relief at the news, thankful it wasn't anything major.

"You've lost some blood so we're going to get a line in to give you some more, what blood type are you San," he asked me.

"He's B," Wooyoung replied.

"Ok. I'm going to need you to keep holding his hand for me Wooyoung, can you do that," the medic asked.

"I can do that," Wooyoung whispered, sniffling slightly but giving me a small smile. I smiled softly back and continued to watch him.

~~~~~
Half an hour later and my shoulder was stitched up and bandaged and I had more blood in me. The medic said I was quite resilient and he was surprised that I didn't lose consciousness or even just seem a bit woozy with the amount of blood I lost. I was now currently sitting up on the bed, Wooyoung sat next to me, his arms wrapped around my waist and his head resting on the uninjured shoulder. Yeonjun and Dino sat at the foot of my bed, none of us wanting to leave each other just yet.
"Thank you. Both of you," I said, causing them to frown in confusion.
"You may not realise it but you just saved our lives. Yeonjun, we wouldn't have found that room and Dino, Channie you were amazing," I whispered.
"As if I was gonna let my Jagi and his soulmate get hurt, or well you got hurt so I wasn't going to let you die," Yeonjun said. I chuckled softly and nodded.
"I'm just glad we're all alive," Dino said with a sigh.
"I'm glad as well," I said with a nod.
"Ch-Channie. Chan, baby." Our heads all snapped up to see Sungcheol standing a few metres away with wide eyes.
"H-Hyung. Hyungie," Dino said, bursting into tears as he jumped up and ran towards Sungcheol. Sungcheol rushed forwards and met him halfway, pulling him into his arms and hugging him tightly. He lifted him up and carried him back over to us before, letting him back down but remaining hugging him.
"Hy-Hyung is everyone ok," Dino cried.
"We all got out baby, we're all ok. We were so scared for you, so scared. We thought you, we thought you died. But then someone radioed about another Seventeen member and I came as soon as I figured out where you were," Sungcheol said, squeezing Dino tightly. Dino continued sobbing and it was then that I realised how scared he was. He was just as terrified as we all were, he was just better at hiding it and keeping calm on the outside.
"I was so scared," he cried.
"I know you were, but you're safe now," Sungcheol whispered. Dino sniffled before nodding into his shoulder. Sungcheol looked up, glancing over at the other three of us.
"You guys ok? How bad is it San," he asked me.
"It's not bad. It will heal in a couple of weeks," I said.
"San was the only one that got shot," Yeonjun said.
"I'm glad you three are ok," Sungcheol said quietly.
"It's only thanks to Dino, without him we probably wouldn't have made it out," I told him. Sungcheol smiled softly, rubbing Dino's shoulder and letting out a breath.
"Do you want to go see the others? They're all waiting for you and they'll be happy to see you're ok," Sungcheol whispered.
"Yes please," Dino replied quietly.
"Wait, Hyung," Yeonjun called out quickly. Sungcheol paused from where he was turning to walk away.
"I saw them about half an hour ago, they were in Tent 4, down that way. Um, Kai wasn't there," he said quietly.
"B-But the other three, they were there," Yeonjun asked and Sungcheol nodded.
"Oh, thank god. Kai's sick so he wasn't here," Yeonjun said.
"D-Do you know about the others, about the rest of ATEEZ," Wooyoung asked quickly.
"I'm sorry, I haven't seen them. But I haven't really been moving around much so that's not saying anything," Sungcheol replied. Wooyoung's grip tightened around me and I rested my head against his head softly.
"Thank you," I said quietly.
"Look after yourselves," Sungcheol said. Dino turned his head to look at us and gave us a small wave before he was pulled away by Sungcheol. Yeonjun sighed and glanced back at us, biting his lip anxiously.
"Go find them Jagi, let them know you're safe," Wooyoung said softly. Yeonjun's eyes welled up with tears and he moved quickly, hugging both of us gently, making sure not to hurt my shoulder.
"I'm so glad you two are ok, both of you. I love you guys so much ok, so much," he whispered.
"I love you to Junnie," Wooyoung whispered.
"You'll find them. I-I have faith that you'll find them and they'll be ok," Yeonjun said softly before pulling away.
"Keep having faith," he told us. I gave him a small smile and nodded.
"Go see your members, and I love you too," I said. He gave us a watery smile before standing up and hurrying away, leaving Wooyoung and I alone. I turned my head slightly and kissed Wooyoung's cheek, making him cuddle me closer.
"You ok," I asked him.
"For now yeah, but if we don't find them, I know I'm going to break down," he admitted.
"You're going to break down anyway and so will I, but that's not going to happen until we find out they're all safe ok," I said. He sniffled before taking a deep breath and nodding.
"I still can't believe you took a bullet for me," he said, making me chuckle softly.
"I'd do it again in a heartbeat Youngie," I said, patting his back.
"Can we go find them? At least look for them," he asked me as he pulled back. I nibbled my lower lip before flagging down the medic we had earlier.
"Are you ok? Are you hurting," he asked me.
"No, can we go though? We need to go looking for our other members, see if they're ok," I told him.
"Is there any pain," he asked me.
"Not really, those pain killers and numbing cream helped a lot. Please, we just want to find our brothers," I said quickly.
"Of course, have a look around. There's tape for where you can't go, you can't go anywhere near the building because they haven't made sure it's clear. Just remain on this side of the road and look through the tents. From what I know, none of them have come to this tent which means none of them got shot and were admitted to be helped," he said.
"Thank you," Wooyoung replied quickly. He just gave us a smile before leaving. Wooyoung helped me into a spare shirt we were given as my performance one was ripped completely.
"Come on, let's go find our boys," I said softly. Wooyoung took a deep breath before getting off the bed and helping me off as well. His hand immediately slipped into mine and I linked our fingers, holding tightly. We walked out of the tent and glanced around to try and figure out to where to go next.
"Why don't we go this way. Cheol Hyung went the other way and he didn't see them, so they might be this way," Wooyoung said.
"Yeah, let's go," I said pulling him in the direction he pointed. There were multiple tents, filled with people, some I recognised as Idols and others I assume where fans in the stands. There was a crowd of full of thousands of people, who knows how many got hurt or killed.
"Sannie, you're squeezing my hand really tight. Are you ok," Wooyoung asked me, snapping me from my thoughts.
"Sorry, I'm ok," I said quickly.
"Can I sleep with you tonight," he asked me as we continued walking and looking.
"You can sleep with me every night Youngie," I replied softly.
"We should all pile our mattresses in the loungeroom and sleep together, all eight of us," he said. I glanced down at him slightly, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze.
"I'm sure we'd all like that," I said. He nodded and we continued walking, looking through each tent we passed. We went through five different tents without any sign of any of them but we didn't lose hope, we kept looking. We went over to the person in front of the next tent.
"Excuse me, what is this tent for," I asked.
"Minor injuries from trying to get out. People getting knocked over or trampled slightly," she replied. I nodded before tugging Wooyoung inside. I nibbled my lip nervously as we walked through the tent, scanning to try and find them. I jolted back slightly when Wooyoung suddenly halted, my hand still being attached to his. I turned quickly to see his face was pale and his eyes were wide. I frowned and turned to where he was looking, my heart stopping. In the corner of the room, there were four people huddled by a bed that had two people cuddled up on it. Those six people were six that I would never in my life forget. They two on the bed were Hongjoong and Seonghwa. Hongjoong had a bruise on his left cheek that didn't look too amazing but definitely isn't going to be an issue in the long run. Seonghwa had tears running down his face and he was just looking straight ahead blankly, his hand clasping Hongjoong's tightly. Jongho was sat beside the bed, holding Hongjoong's hand as he leaned against the bed. Yunho and Mingi were sitting on a chair together curled up and hugging each other tightly. Yeosang was on the last chair, his leg propped up and his chin resting on his knee as he fiddled with his fingers. They all looked sad, but they were all awake. Yeosang took a deep breath before the mint haired boy suddenly looked up. His eyes were rimmed red and they met mine before they went wide. His leg slowly dropped down as he straightened up, his eyes flitting beside me and no doubt landing on Wooyoung.
"Oh my god. Oh thank god," he cried out, jumping forwards and running over to us. He came crashing into us, making me wince as it jostled my shoulder but it didn't stop me from hugging him tightly.
"You assholes, what took you so long," he cried, beginning to sob into my shoulder. I looked up to see the others all watching us closely, except Seonghwa who was still staring blankly ahead. Yunho was crying and hugging Mingi tightly who had wide eyes. Jongho was just watching us and Hongjoong had tears falling down his face.
"We're sorry, we went looking as soon as we could," I told him. Yeosang sniffled and pulled back before dragging us over to the others. Yunho and Mingi jumped up, Mingi hugging Wooyoung and Yunho hugging me. I was engulfed in his embrace and once again I winced in slight pain.
"Yunho, not so tight," Wooyoung spoke up. Yunho furrowed his eyebrows but pulled back and moved over so I could turn to the others. Jongho had stood up and he moved over, hugging me gently and I pat his back before he let go and moved onto Wooyoung. I turned to the two eldest on the bed.
"Hongjoong Hyung," I said quietly. He glanced up at me and sniffled, holding his arm out. I hurried forwards and hugged him tightly, feeling him kiss my head softly before I pulled back and stepped to the side to let Wooyoung through.
"Hyung, what happened to your face," I asked him.
"Nothing too bad. Someone knocked Hwa over and almost trampled him trying to get out so I punched them and they punched me back," he explained. Speaking of our eldest, I looked back over at Seonghwa who hadn't moved at all. I quickly walked around the bed and over to his side, slipping my hand into his and squeezing softly. He didn't react at all and it was actually starting to worry me.
"Seonghwa," I said gently.
"I let them go Hongjoong, I let them go. I told them to hide and I let them go and now they're gone. My babies are gone," Seonghwa whispered brokenly. My eyes welled up with tears as I realised he thought we were dead and he was blaming himself.
"Hyungie," I said softly, sniffling as the tears begun to fall. Seonghwa jolted and his head snapped to the side, the tears falling faster as his eyes met mine.
"S-Sannie," he whispered.
"I'm alive Hyung, I'm still here and so is Youngie," I told him, nodding to where Wooyoung was still hugging Hongjoong.
"Y-You guys, you're still h-here. You're alive," he whispered.
"Yeah, we listened to what you said Hyung, we hid. A-And when we had to run, I protected him like you told me to," I said. Seonghwa smiled softly and brought me into his arms, hugging me tightly. I whimpered slightly at the pain and he froze, pulling back a bit immediately.
"Sannie, wh-what was that," he asked quickly.
"It's nothing, just a bit sore," I said quickly, not wanting to panic the others, not yet.
"He took a bullet for me," Wooyoung said, making the others gasp.
"You got shot," Yeosang exclaimed as Seonghwa ran his eyes over me quickly.
"I'm fine guys, I promise. I got straight through the shoulder and it hurts a bit but it's been stitched up and will heal within 2 weeks," I said quickly. Seonghwa grabbed my shirt and pulled it down slightly, scanning over my bandage shoulder.
"You were faced with a gunman," he asked worriedly. I glanced around to see the others all huddled up and worried, waiting to hear what happened. It's best to explain everything to them to reassure them we're going to be fine.
"Youngie and I left and went looking for a room to hide in. We were in one of the halls when we heard gunshots so we went to hide but the doors were all locked. I was kind of panicking but Yeonjun found us and we hid in a room with him and Dino. It had two exits so it was the safest place we could be in," I explained.
"We were safe as can be until they started trying to break down one of the doors," Wooyoung said. Hongjoong gasped and Jongho moved closer to Wooyoung, wrapping an arm around his waist. Wooyoung leaned closer to him, resting his head on his shoulder.
"Dino took us out the other exit and we decided it was safer to try and get out rather than hide and wait to possibly be found. We were walking down the halls to get to the exit and then we..." I trailed off as my mind went back to the hallway. The hallway filled with what was definitely dead bodies, scattered everywhere and blood lining the halls.
"San, you ok." I blinked back into focus to Seonghwa cupping my chin softly and watching worriedly.
"Um, I'm fine," I said slowly.
"You're crying sweetie," he said.
"I um, I saw a hall of dead bodies. I just think I'm a bit traumatised," I said quietly, shaking my head to get rid of the images.
"You what," Wooyoung asked quickly.
"It's ok, you didn't see it. I didn't want you to see it," I replied.
"We went down a different hall and we weren't too far away from the exit but we weren't paying attention behind us, just ahead. I heard a click from behind and when I looked back there was a guy with a gun that was pointed at Youngie. I pulled him behind me and I shielded him with my body. That's when I got shot in the shoulder but it protected Wooyoung, like you asked and like I would've done anyway," I said.
"How'd you get away if he had a gun," Mingi asked.
"The guy was messed up in the head. He wouldn't shoot Dino because he's a Carat and Dino used that to his advantage. He convinced him to let us go in exchange for a photo with him," I explained.
"God, that's sick and twisted," Jongho said.
"Yeah, but it saved our lives in the end," Wooyoung said.
"Damn, our stories seem so dull now," Mingi said.
"Mingi, they could've died," Hongjoong scolded him, but a small smile slipped on his lips.
"Our stories really are dull compared to yours," he said with a chuckle. For some reason that seemed to set us all off and we all started giggling. It would've seemed manic to anyone else looking in but I think it was just our way of processing everything and just taking it in that we were all ok.
"I'm so glad you two are ok. I thought I sent you to your death," Seonghwa said with a sigh. Wooyoung whined and quickly ran around the bed, climbing up and crawling into Seonghwa's lap. Seonghwa chuckled softly and bundled him up in his lap, rubbing his back softly.
"We're ok Hyungie," Wooyoung said softly.
"I know and I'm very happy about that," Seonghwa replied.
"Um, guys." We all looked over at Yeosang who was at the end of the bed, fiddling with his fingers nervously.
"What's up baby," Hongjoong asked softly.
"C-Can we sleep in a room together tonight please. I um, I just, I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep without you all close. And th-that way if someone gets scared, we're all going to be able to h-help reassure them," Yeosang stuttered out.
"I dibs sleeping next to Sangie," Wooyoung said immediately. Yeosang blushed but smiled softly and nodded quickly.
"We're definitely going to do that for a while. I'm not letting any of you kids out of my sight, nor your mum," Hongjoong said. Seonghwa rolled his eyes but moved his hand down to grab Hongjoong's tightly.
"I'm glad we're all safe now and I love you all so much," I said softly. There's going to be a lot of stress and hardships that come from today but we all made it this far, we're going to be fine as long as we remain together.
A/N
This was requested by literally no one. I've been binge watching Grey's Anatomy recently and there was a shooting in one of the episodes so I decided, why not scare Woosan to death and have them try to get out of a building full of people with guns. Yeah, my brain kind of just gets random ideas and I just run with it🤷‍♀️
Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed this really random idea, but I made it nice and long for you all, over 9,000 words and thank you for reading
